Before starting at FitLab, I had no gym experience or regular workout routine. I was losing muscle and strength, felt constantly tired, and knew I desperately needed to get back in shape. After finding FitLab online, I decided to give them a try—and I am so glad I joined this gym!

I started with personal training sessions twice a week, and the difference is already huge. It's only been a few months, but the constant exhaustion is gone, and I feel like my strength is slowly but surely returning. The success I'm having is entirely thanks to the coaching. The trainers are genuinely nice, professional, and incredibly encouraging and knowledgeable. They started me with the absolute basics, focusing on form and balance. They ensure you are making progress every week with your strength training. Special shout-out to coach Danny, who is always encouraging, great at pushing you when you need it while making sure the pace is right. I also really appreciate that the coaches check in with you after every session to make sure you're feeling okay.

Before I started Fit Lab, I had a ton of body pain and issues stemming from scoliosis/body imbalances. I actually got injured after taking group fitness classes elsewhere and then switched over to Fit Lab because they focused so much on form. I’ve been going for a few years now (first with personal training and then graduating to small group classes) and I’m the strongest I’ve ever been! I’ve gained 10 lbs of muscle and have significantly reduced the back, knee, and hip pain that I have previously had.

I joined The Fit Lab in September 2025, and have been enjoying the friendly, encouraging and highly personalized training sessions with them since then.

Before I joined, I was burned out from my corporate job; I didn't have motivation for anything, but I was also very out of shape. So my friend recommended me this place. After taking Personal Training sessions for a couple months, I can feel the difference with my body (no more out of breath from climbing a few stairs...), and have been enjoying the experience so far.

I particularly appreciate my coach (Danny) who has been tailoring my training menu and pacing based on my condition, given that I had zero weight training experience before. And he's constantly checking in with me to make sure I'm doing alright.

Last but not least, as an introvert, I enjoy the environment here. It's small and cozy. The staff also make sure the space is not overly crowded so that I always have enough physical and mental space when exercising here.

I've been going to the FIT Lab since March 2024, and it’s honestly been a game-changer for me. Before joining, I had never been able to stay consistent with any gym routine. The Fit Lab has completely changed the way I train. I have tried many workouts in the past and I have never found something that truly made a difference in how my body looks and feels. I joined FIT Lab Community in July 2024 after my doctors recommended weight training to help alleviate knee and neck pain from previous injuries. Today is the best day to start, and here’s why:

As a middle-aged guy, I was in okay shape, but I also wasn’t taking a consistent approach to fitness. I would primarily run and bike, but I would also go months without a concerted workout.

I would deal with the daily aches and pains of being out of shape and was somewhat resigned to “aging.” And then when I would occasionally work out, I would wonder “what’s the point?” because that would hurt as well.

What I learned through consistent resistance training (for me, 2x per week):

1) Consistency is key. So is proper form. This is what The FIT Lab provides. You won’t get that without training.

2) The daily aches and pains (my back in particular) are dramatically reduced with consistent resistance training.

3) I do not feel the unwanted “burn” the day after a workout. The burn comes from working a new muscle group. If you work out consistently, you don’t get the burn.

4) I’m still progressing in my fitness, but already after only a few months, I can feel the difference in my daily life. Whether playing with the kids or navigating in a tight space, I feel a lot better and stronger.

I’m looking forward to making more progress, but so far those four things alone make this worth it!

It’s been over a year and a half since I started small group training at FitLab and it’s the best thing I did for myself in a long time. After an almost 2-year break from any training due to a pregnancy and later a postpartum and post-covid depression, my physical and mental health were at a low point. FitLab was a random peak, and since I never did SGT before and found the concept a bit intimidating, I had no expectations for it to stick. But it did. The whole experience is positive: the facility is clean and well equipped; trainers are knowledgeable and attentive (and just nice people:)); workouts are straightforward and extremely effective, I can see and feel the results, and it’s empowering; even though you are training in a group, trainers customize exercises for you if needed. The owner, Greg, does regular check-ins and answers any additional questions you might have - a nice personal touch. Would definitely recommend FitLab to anyone looking for personal training or small group training.

I really love working with the fantastic trainers at The Fit Lab including Ron, Steve, and Abu who I've worked out with the most. They are enthusiastic, always helpful and encouraging, and so very knowledgeable. I have been a member of the Fitlab for just under 10 years and I write that with pride. It is far and away the best fitness experience I have ever had. The team/coaches are super knowledgeable, caring, experienced and detail oriented and just as important- good down to earth people. Have been using Fit Lab for two months, and having limited gym experience previously, I have been able to feel confident in stepping back into the gym. The team break down everything down into the basics and help piece everything together. A great example is my experience with deadlifts, where I previously had zero confidence and would avoid. I want to start by saying after a very, very difficult and traumatic pregnancy, I came to Jason & FITLAB barely able to move. I had severe SI joint pain to the point where I was having difficulty walking.

After just 3 months, Jason and his team have been able to turn my life around. I'm not only moving pain-free for the first time in MONTHS, but I'm making significant improvements in strength and fitness. Joining The Fit Lab 2 years ago was one of the best decisions I have ever made. The trainers take special care with each person tailoring exercises and movement to each person’s different skillset and needs. First things, I was a marathon runner turned Crazy ironman. Fast forward a few years and I lifed myself, and gained a few pounds and lost a bit of fitness previous to and into COVID. After Covid, and nearly 43 years old, I thought there was no better way to get myself back into shape than starting to buid a good foundation to get the body resilient to running again. I started in July of 2022 and am slowly but surely getting my body back to a better place and not having to feel like my age, and strong through a run of any distance! I can’t say enough about The FIT Lab and its culture. Just a really great place and community. I’ve most recently been taking classes with Jason (who is excellent and knows more about breathing than I thought possible) but I’ve worked with all the trainers and each one has the ability and desire to legitimately listen to what someone is trying to achieve and then implement a thoughtful and customized approach, even in the small group sessions.

As someone who has never been a “gym” person, they made me feel comfortable and welcomed from the first day (over four years ago) and have helped me create much better habits inside and outside the gym. Instead of directly jumping into all kinds of intensive workout (like what I received in other training studios/classes), they communicated with you on your goals to setup clear training strategies first. I've been working with the trainers at The FIT Lab for a full year now and I will say that it has been an amazing experience.

The entire coaching staff have been incredible. Starting in PT I was getting personalized coaching to make sure that I was getting the most out of every exercise. The last thing you want to do is have poor form when lifting and end up hurting yourself. I no longer have that worry after having proper form cemented into my brain.

After switching to Small Group Personal Training I am able to continue to get the personal touch I need to make sure I am doing the exercise properly along with being able to workout with others. I am happy to say that I feel stronger now than I did over a decade ago while in college.

Every trainer here that I've had the pleasure to work with has helped me along the way. You can really tell that all of them love what they do and that they take time to continuously improve their own knowledge so that they can pass on the benefits to you.

Even after moving further away, I still keep coming back six months later because it's that good of an experience. The gym is always neatly organized and everyone that attends classes always is willing to assist with the cleanup to make sure the gym is in the same condition that it was when we entered. For most people there many reasons to choose your gym. I continue to choose The FIT Lab because of the trainers (SMEs and very personable), personal strength gains I’ve made, and the incredible service, schedule flexibility, and convenience Greg and the other trainers offer right here in Hoboken.

It’s important to mention the style of training here too. This is not a cardio or CrossFit gym! They usually start you with personal strength training which is how the team evaluates your form, goals, and areas for improvement in the key movements of Squatting, Pushing, Deadlifting, Pulling, and Core Stabilization. You can continue with that personal training but it is more cost-effective and frankly more fun and interactive to join the small group sessions (currently up to 5 people) which they run in the morning, mid-day, and evening.

I strongly recommend The FIT Lab to anyone looking for friendly and highly skilled strength trainers to work with in a 1 on 1 or small group setting.

After a couple of years of COVID workouts (virtual and/or by myself) I was looking for a place to level-up on my fitness and strength goals when I found the FIT Lab.

Having participated in basically all of the workout trends (i.e. every trendy cardio class you can think of), I wanted more than just a fun experience - I wanted to learn - not just to follow along with an instructor.

All of the trainers are knowledgeable, patient and highly observant. There is such a nuance to weight training - it's not just how to lift a weight, or the number of reps achieved. The true benefit is understanding how to coordinate your whole body to maximize effort. I never appreciated this before FIT Lab!

I'm about 9 months in and I can honestly say that I am the fittest I have ever been in my life.

I've been working with the FitLab team for about a year now. I started at the gym coming off of COVID and after becoming a new dad both of which caused me to completely lose any semblance of a fitness routine. I'd say I was starting from a place of being modestly athletic - my ad hoc routine was a random mix of either weights, cardio, and climbing. The issue was I always plateaued quickly and I almost always ended up with some joint or muscle pain. It felt like time to get some help.

Enter the FitLab. My ego wanted some quick pointers and to immediately move into big weight, but the emphasis was on form and a stronger mind-body connection. Based on how I struggled it was clear there was a lot of foundational work that needed to be done. While mentally frustrating at moments, it has really paid off and I've seen what feels like tremendous progress. Outside of the obvious physical changes, I've actually seen an increase in my general quality of life.

My improved strength and better body mechanics have seen most of my legacy nagging injuries disappear - no joint pain, no lower back or IT tightness, and just less body tension overall. Activities like holding my daughter for long periods (or throwing her in the air), lifting larger objects, having to do bent over work, or even taking long car rides actually feels different and easier. Remove all the ego stroking of feeling stronger and this alone is worth the effort!

Lastly, the team just really cares. I've had a chance to work with nearly all of the coaches (Jason, Pat, Ron, Greg, and Steve) and I've enjoyed each one of them. There is a concerted effort to provide you with the environment and support to achieve the progression that suits you at the pace you prefer. I've never felt a hesitation to ask a question, ask for a modifier/slower pace, or discuss a concern. Because of this I don't approach the gym with any dread and I feel disappointed if I have to miss an appointment.

I don't write reviews often and I feel I have a pretty high bar for even wanting to write to a review, but I can unequivocally recommend FitLab.

Through my experience at the Fit Lab Inc., I now know how to properly work out. Over the past 7 years I have done every work out in the tri-state area: Flywheel, Flybarre, Soul Cycle, Rumble, SLT, Physique 57, Orange Theory, Barry's Bootcamp, and other unknown places on Class Pass ... you name it, I did it! To get a "good workout" I thought it had to be heart pounding, so sore you can't move for the next 3 days, etc.

During all of these workouts my body was in so much pain. My hips so tight that sitting to standing hurt, constantly spending money on massages. What I didn't know was that I was not taught how to properly work out. That go go, more more was the way to work out. Instead of, stop, breath, slow down to do the move correctly so you are actually hitting the muscles/part of the body intended.

After having a c-section with my first pregnancy I needed to start slow and didn't want to hurt myself. My husband who had a lot of back/hip problems had been going to the Fit Lab Inc. for about a year, and was finally feeling relief. He suggested I go. Thinking on boy personal training, it's going to be expensive I will only do it for a month or two until I get myself back on track.

Well here I am almost 10 months later going to the Fit Lab Inc. 2-3 days a week. They taught me how to use my breath and all of my body parts correctly to make the simplest of moves hard and challenging! And the best part is, I am sore in a good way for my body the next day or two, not ready for a full body cast like I used to be.

I highly recommend both the personal training and the group classes! The group classes are fun, but small so you still feel like you are getting that one-on-one attention.

So ladies who have hitting up the spin bikes and barre classes feeling stale or pregnant/postpartum mamas I would give the Fit Lab Inc. a try!!!

I've been going to the FIT Lab along with my partner now for almost 9 months. It's been a totally different and refreshing experience in comparison to some of the other gyms and trainers I've worked with in the past. The team at FIT Lab are professionals who aren't dabbling in health and fitness, there's a consistent thoughtfulness applied to my program that makes me (and will make you) feel like you're not just another number like some of those 'other' gym chains.

Feeling intimidated and unmotivated by larger classes and gyms that I was previously going to, I decided to sign up for personal training at TFL. Within a few months of sessions I learned so much about strength training, such as proper form and the importance of breathing (things they don't focus on in those larger classes I had taken like HIIT/spin/etc). I've since moved from personal training to small group training and enjoy it just as much. What really impresses me is the commitment each trainer has to tailoring activities to each individual member's abilities and progress, and to making sure you are doing exercises properly.

Everything from the initial consultation with Greg, to my first assessment with Jason, to every session with each of the trainers has been awesome. Before joining The Fit Lab I had always been intimidated by gyms and working out in general, but I have never felt that way at TFL. I have primarily worked with Steve and he is always positive and makes sure you understand how to approach each exercise to get the most impact & value from the sessions.

As COVID restrictions were put in place, Greg and the team quickly pivoted to virtual 1:1 training, virtual group classes and setup Slack channels to keep everyone connected and on track. Ian even started a run club, which got me back to running for the first time in a few years.

While a lot had happened over the last 9-10 months TFL has always remained positive and supportive. Even after I moved out of Hoboken, Steve set me up with virtual training so I haven’t missed a beat.

I signed up at the Fitlab after asking the internet for a recommended personal trainer- and all suggestions pointed me here. I needed to work with a trainer to resolve a muscle spasm problem I was experiencing that no physical therapist, chiropractor, or doctor could fully explain or fix. The trainers here understood what I was experiencing, broke down the issue, and came up with a plan of exercises- and low and behold, I was back to normal in no time. The trainers at this gym resolved an issue that people with medical degrees’ couldn’t. Jason specifically.

All of the trainers here are awesome but Jason is Gordon Ramsey of exercise. His knowledge is superior to what anyone could expect of your trainer and he pushes you in all of the right ways. Consider yourself lucky if you are paired with him because he is one of those trainers who could be charging double what their rate is.

I highly recommend The Fit Lab Inc. for customized personal training. The studio is sparkling clean, they wipe down all equipment between each training session, have temperature checks at the front door (due to COVID), and require everyone to wash hands before starting each session.

I trained with Ian and he has been amazing!! He does a great job correcting my form (very important when strength training), creating a tailored program to fit my fitness goals, pays attention as I go through each circuit and adjusting the weight/exercise as needed, and motivating me each session to do better than the last.

Great Place for a Beginner

I started with the gym before quarantine was put in place and though I ended up getting sick, they would always send me notes of the workouts we completed. After I started recovering, I did a lot of the feasible ones at home in addition to changing my diet. I’ve been shedding about 1-1.5 lbs a week for about a month now and it’s made me feel encouraged to keep going. Sure diet is important but when you sit around working all day, it’s frustrating not being able to move around. Doing these exercises has gotten me to move around more and be productive while doing it. The owner Greg is also just a great guy whose consistently kept in touch with the community during the quarantine. It’s a small gym but he’s trying to make some big changes to help make it a safer space and I really respect that from a boutique business. Overall, if you were like me a couple of months ago—not fitness-savvy and lost on where to start—then I think you’re in the right hands.

I found out about TFL from a friend who trained there and she had a perk that allowed her to bring a friend to class for free. Small fitness classes here in the city can be expensive and sometimes not worth it, so I was excited to try this out. After one class, I knew this was for me. I enjoyed the small group - it was small enough to get that one-on-one training but also have some interaction with other people who may have some of the same goals. During COVID, I was bummed not to get into the gym, but TFL offered us so many options which included some live-stream classes (which I tend to watch and do on my own later on, due to my hectic work schedule), and also some one-on-one workouts designed by the trainers at TFL. I think what TFL offers caters so perfectly to the hard-working 9-5er or any crazy schedule you may have. I feel like I haven't lost speed in my training during COVID, thanks to Ian and TFL. If you are looking for a small business to support and some really great workouts catered to your specific goal, or just a class to add to your regime, this is for you!

I started at the Fit Lab ~2 1/2 months ago, right around the time of the COVID 19 shutdown. Although the gym had too close for the time being due to quarantine, Greg, the owner, and all the trainers did not let that stop them from continuing to assist the progress of their members. They worked hard to figure out a great solution for this time with the use of virtual classes held twice a day three times a week, virtual one on one personal training calls, and personalized weekly workouts which contain demo videos to ensure you are conducting the exercise correctly on your own.
Jason has personally helped me in every aspect. He tailored all of my workouts perfectly for me given I am new to this. I feel like even though the personal training has not been in person, that true progress has been made for myself with the detailed help and guidance from Jason. I continue to get stronger and learn more each day.

I came to the Fit Lab at ~2.5 months postpartum after sustaining a back injury during pregnancy (in addition to the usual postnatal pelvic floor issues). Things were so bad that I was having a hard time walking, much less lifting and bouncing my infant son a million times a day. I had initially tried two different pelvic floor specialist physical therapists, but their exercises kept causing more pain in my back. In the first week of working with him, Jason managed to isolate which movements and muscle groups were causing my issues. He is amazing at tailoring each exercise to your individual skill level, whether that means increasing or decreasing difficulty.

It’s now been about six weeks, and the pain in my back is nearly gone. I’m finally able to utilize my core to go through various exercises in a safe and effective way. I have also met a few other people who work out there and I am always struck by how friendly and excited everyone is to be there. Definitely the mark of a great place. Lastly, the place is impeccably clean! I honestly can not recommend Jason and the Fit Lab enough.

I am beyond impressed with The FIT Lab in Hoboken. The place itself is super clean and the equipment is really nice and up to date. The trainers and their overall mission are even more impressive. They are extremely professional, knowledgeable, and passionate about their work. Before starting at the FIT Lab, Greg called me to discuss what my background and goals were. I have always been active, played sports in high school and college, and have continued to run and attend occasional workout classes. I was looking to get stronger and better conditioned, but I wanted to do it the right way with individualized, smart training. This is exactly what the FIT Lab aims to do- work with each client to achieve their goals, while keeping them safe and using the correct body mechanics.

I train with Jason and Ian who are fantastic. Upon my initial eval with Jason, he immediately recognized that I had decreased range of motion in my left ankle. I had ankle surgery >10 years ago, and have had issues over the years that I kind of forgot about and adapted to/ignored. Jason, however, did not want to pass this off and had me evaluated by a foot and ankle specialist who confirmed that I need PT and certain modifications for training. If Jason had not pointed this out and felt strongly that I get further evaluated, I would not have gotten the continued help that I need. I have never worked out somewhere where a trainer recognizes a problem before you tell them about it, and then has a solution and referral on hand.

As Jason and Ian know I enjoy running, they tailor my workouts to use movements and exercises to become a better runner. Jason, Ian, and Greg are also readily available for workout and nutrition questions and/or concerns throughout the week.

I can’t speak highly enough about the FIT Lab, Jason, Ian, and Greg. I look forward to each training session and have (challenging) fun each day that I am there. I highly recommend looking into the FIT Lab if you are looking to work out the right way with the best trainers.

My journey with Fitlab started with a health reckoning of sorts. I stumbled upon Fitlab through a recommendation from a neighbor in our building. After going through their website I decided to give it a go and sent an email to Fitlab enquiring about the facility. Greg setup a phone call in a day or two to understand what my health goals are and how Fitlab may help me achieve them. Here I was who had never worked out on a serious level ever. Novice in terms of resistance training. Mentioned all these things and some more to Greg and he said that's not a problem we have amazing set of trainers to help/guide me in my fitness journey. And boy! Was he right!
I initially started with personal training with two instructors: Ian and Steve. They worked with me on my form and function. Getting down to basics and tuning it to be just right. Best part I loved about it was not only they always showed up but the showed up with specific work out planned that was tailored just for me taking my progression into account. Ian would always ask how's your body feeling before every workout (basically checking for muscle soreness or fatigue). They will push you to your limits to expand them. I specifically waited for 6 months before providing any review. I wanted to see some gains, of course everybody is different and the gains and time to achieve them can vary. I can definitely say that joining Fitlab was one of the best fitness life decisions I have made for myself second only to the commitment of eating healthy. I have graduated into working with small groups trained by Ian/Greg/Jason.
This is an amazing place with really talented fitness trainers. All trainers are courteous and professional and Ian is especially very patient. There is a nice vibe to this place and it has built a small fitness community of amazing people. To top it all it is a local business in your hood! I joined the Fit Lab after facing several injuries related to a motor vehicle accident and never expected to make the progress I’ve made in these past 4 months. The Fit Lab trainers have a deep knowledge of the human anatomy and are extremely resourceful, articulate and accessible day in and day out. The trainers embody professionalism in their mentorship and are both attentive and patient. The instructors here are great, the workouts are always different which keeps things interesting and everyone keeps you motivated! I have been working out with Ian the last 2 months and he is an AMAZING trainer. He is skilled, thoughtful, sensible, and a pleasure to work with and talk to. He knows just how and when to encourage and when to push, though never too much. Fit Lab is truly a cut above everything else around when it comes to personal training. Greg, Ian, Jason, and Steve are fantastic trainers who will work extremely hard to help you meet your fitness goals. The facilities are always clean and the equipment is regularly updated. On top of all of that, Greg loves dogs and always stops to say hi to our dog as we’re walking by! I can’t recommend this place highly enough.

I have been working out at TFL for a few months now and I am very pleased with my decision to join!

Results: I feel leaner, stronger, and know that my form improves with each class.

Trainers: Super knowledgeable they pay attention to each of their clients individual needs. I've worked out with each of the 4 trainers and while there is definitely an overarching cohesion to the TFL, everyone has their own spin which keeps things interesting.

The people are great and the trainers are always on hand to help you out with anything and everything fitness related.

Having been with the FIT lab for a little over a year now, there are several things this little Hoboken gym offers that sets it apart from the rest:

For group classes at most gyms, there are usually at least 15+ people participating with only one person facilitating. It’s physically impossible for a trainer to focus on every individual’s needs even if they want to! At the FIT lab, I signed up for the small group training sessions. The group size has never been more than 6 people &, if there were 4-6 people per session, 2 trainers were usually present so everyone gets just the right amount of attention. In my opinion, it feels just as effective as “one on one” training sessions.

Quality is more important than quantity – I remember going in for a free consultation & Greg (owner of the FIT lab) emphasizing the importance of perfecting techniques before increasing the intensity of workout routines. Wrong form puts you at risk of injury & safety is their number one priority. At every session, they break down each movement within the circuits. Once you have the form down, they progress the movements so that you’re continually challenging yourself to become better & stronger.

Customizable to your needs – the FIT lab takes the time to build unique workout routines based on your specific goals to achieve the results you want. You’ll never get bored with circuits because you’re often learning new movements/techniques & they’re rotated so it doesn’t lose effectiveness. There were instances where I needed to shift my schedule to do sessions on back-to-back days – Greg always made sure that the circuits were designed so that I wasn’t doing the same routine two days in a row. Another time, my sister was experiencing discomfort in her back from sleeping the wrong way -- they carefully modified the workout accordingly & monitored her closely to ensure she wasn’t exacerbating that pain. There is always a lot of thought in everything they do for their clients which you can’t easily find in other places.

Impressive range of expertise across highly qualified trainers – the sessions I’ve been in are usually led by either Greg or Jason or both. Greg goes above & beyond for his clients. He lives & breathes his business. For most gyms/personal trainers, your interaction stops after the session is over – this couldn’t be further from the case with Greg. He interacts as much as possible whether it’s via emails on helpful health articles/books he’s read or analyzing a client’s food log & sharing insights on what to tweak in their diet (i.e. if they’re trying to lose weight, improve energy levels, etc.). Bottom line, he truly CARES about his clients & it shows. Jason is an amazing & fun trainer. In group sessions, he’s incredibly engaging & explains each circuit in great detail. He’s attentive to form & lets you know exactly what muscles you should be feeling with each movement. I’m never struggling to understand what I should be doing at my workout sessions which is something I really appreciate!

You’re not joining a gym, you’re joining a family – in the past, I always preferred working out on my own. Group sessions just weren’t my thing & I really took a chance trying this out at the FIT lab. There are certain peak hours for group sessions so you really get to know the people who show up at the same set time as you. There’s an opportunity to connect with people who all have the same goal of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, encourage one another during the routines, & share laughs about work/personal life all at the same time. As someone who didn’t always love the idea of working out, I can honestly say that heading to the FIT lab after work is something I look forward to. I’m energized by the comradery of my FIT “family” & I’m beyond inspired by Greg’s passion as well as commitment to do whatever it takes to see his clients reach their fitness goals (whatever they may be). If you’re looking to improve your lifestyle & build new friendships in the process, this is definitely the right “FIT” for you!

I’ve joined many gyms over the years (regular gyms, crossfit, barre, etc.) and worked with many personal trainers. While each is different, I’ve found that The FIT Lab offers higher quality training and more balanced workouts. Greg and his team truly are top-notch, knowledgeable, professional trainers. Trust me… I’ve done the legwork (literally)! After 8 months at The FIT Lab, I’m continually impressed with the attention to detail that goes into each session’s program. Workouts are varied and appropriately challenging. The trainers actually do pay close attention to form, and they create a positive, encouraging environment around health and wellness (without the pressure tactics).

Equally important, the atmosphere and people at The FIT Lab are what makes it awesome. If you take fitness and health seriously, but don't take yourself too seriously, then this is the place for you! I always look forward to my two sessions each week; they brighten my day and leave me with a sense of accomplishment. I’ve found small group training to be much more fun than personal training because of the camaraderie. Bottom line: The FIT Lab offers superior quality, balance, and great people to boot! Close to a year ago my husband & I decided it was time to make a lifestyle change and join a gym. We looked into a few gyms in Hoboken including the cross fit and yoga studios but were not satisfied with the options where we both could work out together. We found the Fit Lab & made an appointment for consultation with the owner, Greg. In our first meeting with him, we realized he was very knowledgeable and realistic about the progress we would make with our commitment paired with an overall healthy lifestyle.

Truth be told, I thought we would last two months- tops. I had never committed to a gym and figured once the winter approached, I’d rather cuddle on the couch with my dog and a snack. Thankfully, I was wrong.

My husband & I started working out participating in separate, individual private sessions with Jason. I can imagine it takes a lot of patience with people who are out of shape and had never consistently participated in a regular gym schedule but he had patience with us. During my private sessions, Jason focused on the correct way for me to exercise as to not injure myself as I learned how to stretch properly, do fundamental exercises, which eventually led to squats, dead lifts, and TREX rows. My husband would come home from his private sessions and rave about how he was feeling and the progress he was making. Once we were three months into our experience Chris spoke to Greg and we were able to work out a weekly schedule where we would now train in couple’s sessions. We were very happy as we were noticing a difference in our bodies and overall stamina on a daily basis. We were able to both train with Jason and motivate each other to do well and are proud of what we are accomplishing.

Fit Lab has literally changed our lives. As we have focused on working out and attending our sessions, they have been encouraging us individually to do more outside of the gym to make the progress we would like. Jason is constantly attentive and makes modifications to the movements if necessary. More importantly he has patience for us and has committed the time and effort in making our sessions productive and fun. Jason is serious about his commitment to nutrition and how to improve the body’s functions. He has been positive with the both of us as we have grown stronger and are now able to lift heavier weights, do more of a variety of exercises, and challenges us each session. As he is serious about the workout, he is also personable and can joke around with us. He has an Instagram account and has posted us on there working out. It was obvious he was taking pride in our accomplishments. It was even quite special to the both of us that Jason & Greg took the time to give us a wedding anniversary card.

Not only has the Fit Lab changed our lives in the physical sense, we have new confidence in ourselves, new friendships, and relationships with the trainers and other members. The Fit Lab is accommodating, as they understand life happens and when we go to a Yankee game instead of the gym, Greg will reschedule us for another convenient time. I have also worked out this summer, as I am a teacher, with a girls group on Mondays so I can see family during the week down the shore. I also receive articles and suggestions that help me to change my daily routines to better the both of us. Just reading an article or looking at an infograph has changed what we purchase from the grocery store and how we add simple exercises into daily life. I would recommend the Fit Lab to anyone who is interested in working out in a welcoming, challenging environment with trainers that take the time to personally get to know you, your needs, and your goals.

After exercising on my own and working with other personal trainers, I came across The Fit Lab and started exercising with Jason a little over a year ago. It was immediately clear to me the knowledge and expertise of the owner and coaches was a notch above the rest. Each session is well thought out based on my individual goals and needs, while still being challenging. I appreciate that Jason spends a good amount of time focusing on proper form and technique, something previous trainers had not done.

As someone that suffers from chronic back and neck pain, it is nice that the coaches always make sure to check in and see if I am in any pain before or during a workout. I've been working out at the Fit Lab since September 2015 and started as someone, like many others, who dreaded the thought of working out in any form. I began doing the one on one sessions and then moved onto group sessions w/in 6 months. Greg and the team at Fit Lab helped me meet some of my early weight loss goals (and do so properly), learn to train properly with a focus on technique, improve some of my decisions outside of the gym, but most importantly, made working out something I look forward to(which I thought would never be possible).

Not only do Greg and the team provided great in class training during each session, but they also clearly spend a lot of time prepping their workouts to be catered to each individual and group each week, as each session clearly has plenty of thought put into it.
