The gym itself is not terribly big, but has a bit of everything: a decent children's area in the front, followed by an average top-rope area with a few auto-belayers (a few more would be better), and a lead-climb area. A Bouldering area is in the back.
Overall the place was clean, and the equipment was in good shape. The staff were all polite and competent.
Costs:
Day pass is $28 - higher than an average suburban climbing gym should cost.
**Belaying fee? - $16
Rentals: on par with other gyms
Membership options actually look pretty decent.
My biggest gripe is the belaying fee; I just completely don't understand it and as far as I know, no other climbing gym has this fee. My kid is a climber; if I bring her to climb, I want to belay her and coach her. I will pay for the day pass, but since I'm not climbing myself I have a hard time justifying an additional fee just to belay my own kid.
Overall, the gym itself is fine, and the staff are fine, but the costs are unreasonable. Day pass is more expensive that it should be for the completely unremarkable gym. Add the belaying fee on top of it and it's just not worth it.
The only way this gym makes sense if for birthday parties and if you sign up for a membership.

Great climbing spot for all levels, whether youβre learning the ropes or pushing your limits. This is a well-maintained facility with comfortable equipment. The staff were friendly and laid-back, and the overall vibe was chill. Bonus points for the small shop with gear, clothing, and even books. It wasnβt too crowded, and the music added a nice touch to the atmosphere.

I hosted my child's birthday party at Gravity VaultοΌ and it was such a wonderful experience! The venue was beautifully decorated, and the staff were incredibly friendly and attentive. Everyone had a great time, and the kids were especially happy. The entire party went smoothly, and every detail was well taken care of. Highly recommend this place β it's definitely a top choice!οΌ

Stopped by on Presidentsβ Day so there were some children camps going on - to be expected.
Staff managing these camps was not attentive and ignored safe climbing practices. Multiple kids on a single wall at once or kids would start climbing even if there are other climbers already on the wall that could fall on top of them; the staff member βwatchingβ them didnβt do anything to manage this. Obviously, not the kidsβ fault for being excited about climbing but staff need to give more instruction so people donβt get hurt.
Additionally, during someone elseβs staff belay during my time there, one of the climbers was using my chalk and spilling it on the floor (maybe Iβm just βnot chillβ but it was weird). The staff member supervising the climbers just laughed it off despite knowing it wasnβt their stuff they were rummaging through. Really inconsiderate.
Unfortunate because this is a nice facility - fun walls, cool routes, and clean work out section. But terrible experience due to some staff members - just didnβt seem to care about safety or general experience of climbers.
Would not return despite having an annual membership to GVs.

Came here a couple of times but last week will be the very last time i go there and here is why. My child and I had a 1 hour lesson with Julie (trainer). I thought this trainer would help my child instead of huffing and puffing not engaging no speaking and very miserable. It was beyond uncomfortable. Not paying attention to the slack on the rope while my child was climbing up she would not pull the slack, no positive reinforcement , no tips or advice and this young lady had the nerve to look aggrivated seeing a young child struggling for assistance. Shameful, I am shocked that upper management would allow something like this to happen especially with children. Hopefully upper management starts to choose
Their trainers and give them the correct training when it comes to giving lessons.

Took my 14yr old daughter and 5 year old son to climb. This was his first climb so I was a little nervous. He absolutely loved it. He loved that he had to challenge himself each climb but overall it was his instructor Bonale that made it so easy. Bonale was absolutely amazing at keeping him calm and focused. Took my kids out to experience some rock climbing, but way too expensive even for the basic package and that doesn't even include having your child strapped to a harness with a bungee cord. Honestly how do they expect kids not to injure themselves, if they fall from a high point. I don't care how cushion the floor mats are a child is going to hurt themselves if they fall from that height. So after being there for 15 minutes my kids were already bored and tired so I would definitely avoid doing this just take your kids to the park instead it's free. π―

Decent albeit expensive climbing gym with a lot of routes. Walls are shorter than other climbing gyms in the area and the grading seems more generous and easier to climb relative to the rating. Parking is somewhat limited. Along with regular pricing their βdiscountβ days are now pricey as well. Overall the gym is becoming way overpriced and represents a poor value.

Iβm a beginner so I reserved a staff beley with a friend. Kiki was friendly and helpful. I plan to go back and possibly take a belay certification and make this my monthly activity.

Overall, the rock walls were great! They were nice to climb, and had nice hand and foot spaces. However, the employee who was with my kids group, was very unpleasant. My daughter's friend is very afraid of heights, and told the employee that she wanted to get down. She (the employee) refused and made her go higher, only allowing her to come down when she wouldn't go up anymore. On another wall, my daughter was climbing and didn't want to go any higher. Again, the employee was very demanding that she go higher, and insisted even when my daughter said she wasn't comfortable going higher. Additionally, she was very condescending towards the girls, however was very kind to my son. I personally would take the kids again, but would refuse to have them work with that employee again.

Nice climbing gym with a lot of variety of climbs. The boulder zone has a bit of everything in terms of styles, and the top rope/lead part has nice overhangs, dihedrals and even a crack climbing wall (gotta say probably the must try of the gym)

Lovely place. Only negative is that it doesn't have great options for beginners. All the paths are very hard anything less than 5.8 is just listed as <5.8 and then the numbering starts at 5.8. the V0's are also harder than expected. most of the top rope walls incorporate some level of overhang.

Some of the photos on here must be old, they arenβt setting with tape anymore. Great gym with really interesting features on cement walls, including a crack, a chimney, and a full arch (all leadable!). The autobelays arenβt just for beginners, they set 5.8-5.12. Toprope belay is done with their Grigri which is always on the rope. Not 100% sure but this might be the kind of gym where you are supposed to lead with their Grigri and their rope. There are lockers but no showers. Weight room was modern and had 2 squat racks, free weights, moon board, fingerboards. Staff were very friendly and chill. They sell not only clothing and some climbing gear but also books. Be sure to park around back!

I only wish I lived closer! This is my go-to climbing gym. Great staff and frequently updated routes. There's routes for all sorts of skill levels.
It's a little hectic when there are children's parties there. Kids are loud. If that's not your thing maybe call ahead.

We went for an eight-year-old birthday party. The party staff were very focused and kept the event feeling safe and well-directed. They taught good basic climbing skills and everyone got to climb the wall multiple times before the party games (that the kids really enjoyed). The last game before the pizza/cake was a tug-of-war that was really fun to see, it's been years! The cake room is good-sized and the climbing staff do a remarkable pivot to bday pizza cake-serving staff. I would book another party here in an instant, it makes for a safe, yet adventurous afternoon.

This gym is okay, but it's absolutely overrated (especially for intermediate and experienced climbers). It's small, attracts lots of children/parents and so it gets VERY crowded. The lighting is poor, pads are old and in disrepair, the energy is a bit dingy, many of the holds are polished and dirty, and overall it feels quite run down. I've also seen a lot of people walking back and forth from the bathroom with climbing shoes on, and then they just hop back on the wall. Yikes.
The routes are mostly set for attracting business. Gravity Vault has a monopoly in the north Jersey area, which is a shame because there are hardly any competing gyms.
Having said all of that, the fitness room is good. I don't recommend this gym if you have other options.

I cannot say enough wonderful things about our experience today. The 3 leaders from the Chatham Gravity Vault team: Dior, Jessie and Eli that lead our group of 11, 8 year old girl scouts were incredible! They were were engaging, fun, encouraging, and kind. Dior remembered each girls name within 10 minutes and had the girls fired up instantly! Jessie inspired the girls as a previous girl scout to believe in themselves. Eli had calm specific directions on the wall to enable girls to get farther up each time. The team at the front desk were highly efficient, warm and fun to work with for our program! What a special place!

The rate was great for the experience, and Stephen tailored the time perfectly to our skill level, even as a 5 person group with varying levels of experience. It was loads of fun for everyone that came with me. Only thing is that it could be a bot confusing sometimes. For example, the Boulders had some of the route cards that could not be read and some didnβt have cards at all which made it hard to understand some climbs. Would recommend.
