The Montclair My Little Gym is full of excellent teachers. We really truly love them all and so does our daughter. However, there is one teacher that she really gravitates to and that’s Ms. Sophia. Sometimes I feel like Ms Sophia lives with us because it’s just non stop conversations about her at home. Whenever we ask her if she’s excited to go to gymnastics it’s “yes!! And to see Ms. Sophia!!!!!” Proceeded but jumping up and down and telling us all the things she plans on talking to her about when she gets there. First things first, we love EVERYONE here but I have to shout out Ms. Tashe. My son is extremely shy, like used to cry if any stranger looked at him shy..we put him into gymnastics to hopefully help. We initially started on Saturdays and while he did open up some, it was a slow process. We had to do a make up class on Thursday and we met Ms. Tashe. It didn’t take long for him to feel comfortable with her. She offers help but knows when to back away and not pressure him to interact with her. I’m proud to say she has received multiple high five from him at this point. We will keep coming here for a long time!

I love, love, LOVE the Little Gym Tumbling classes and my daughter looks forward to going every week. Big shout out to Miss JoAnna who is Ella’s favorite instructor and such a joy for parents, too. I never expected the Little Gym to be such a great impact on my little one. My daughter started at the little bird class when she was just one year old. She started out as shy and very introverted, little by little she was able to let her personality out. The Little gym and their staff are absolutely wonderful, patient and very fun!

My son started at The Little Gym when he was about 16 months and he is about to celebrate his 4th! We loved all of our instructors as he aged into different groups, each teacher made him feel special and challenged him to keep trying and support his growth and development! I can’t say enough amazing things about The Little Gym Montclair staff! My son has been attending classes there since he was 11 months old and he is now over 2.5. My son literally learned how to walk after starting at the gym and I’ve watched in awe how it has helped his gross motor skills to develop. Update: if i could give this place more stars i would, their level of awareness and consideration is unmatched - just witnessed another parent bringing their daughter and relatively newborn in, as soon as they came in the baby started to cry and it was also just in time for class to start, so slightly chaotic for one mom to try and help their daughter take off her shoes and socks and jacket while the baby is crying..and IMMEDIATELY one of the teachers jumped in and helped their daughter take off their shoes and socks and jacket.. and the mom is thanking her - and the teacher just responds warmly "it's no problem you've got your hands full !"

Can't say enough positive things about the team they have here at the little gym of montclair! What stands out to me MOST is their constant AWARENESS of what's going on!! My daughter really enjoyed the gymnastics class but a number of the classes are waitlisted. They enforce a monthly membership, which as a working Mom getting there every week (on the same day/same time) is not always feasible, (especially if the only days/times that are convenient are waitlisted). If you are unable to attend you will still be charged. Kidville in Montclair is a better option, offering drop-ins and flexibility that the Little Gym does not!

We love coming here! We’ve done the parent/child classes for a few months. Each class is separated by the ages. The website is pretty helpful with describing the differences between the classes as well.

The staff is very friendly and gentle with the kids. We love Ms. Cathy and Mr. Mike! Any time we had to makeup a class for any reason, every teacher always found a way to help. The younger classes have 2 staff members in each class.

The prices for the classes/annual membership fee are not bad at all and lower than other locations we’ve been too. They have a pretty good schedule with some classes offered weekday mornings, weekday evenings and even weekend classes. They offer 1 introductory class for free so you can see if it’ll be a good fit for you and your child!

There’s a parking lot which is usually easy to find a spot but it can get crowded sometimes. (It’s a shared parking lot with other businesses too).

The location is pretty great too. Really easy to grab food after class at a lot of great local spots.

I really recommend taking your little ones here to burn their energy into some useful skills, socialize with other kids/parents and bond with your kids too.

I am thrilled to share my positive experience with The Little Gym! My 16-month-old daughter has been attending classes here since before she could even sit on her own, and the transformation she has undergone is simply amazing.

From the moment we walked through the doors, we were welcomed with open arms by the friendly and caring staff. Ms. JoAnna has been an absolute blessing, as my daughter is completely obsessed with her. She has an amazing way of engaging with the children and making them feel special and valued.

The Little Gym has done wonders for my daughter's self-esteem, self-confidence, and courage. I have watched her grow from a timid little baby to a confident and fearless toddler who is eager to try new things. The staff has an incredible ability to make every child feel like a superhero, which has truly nurtured my baby's sense of self-worth.

In addition to the emotional benefits, The Little Gym has helped my daughter develop her physical abilities as well. The classes have helped her to build strength, coordination, flexibility, and balance, which has been incredibly rewarding to watch. The cognitive development and social and emotional learning that takes place during each class is also amazing.

Overall, I cannot recommend The Little Gym enough. The staff is amazing, the facility is clean and safe, and the classes are designed to provide children with a positive and nurturing environment to grow and learn. We enrolled our daughter into the Funny Bugs/Giggle Worms program and will never regret it. Our daughter is generally super shy and honestly just doesn't do "strangers". Her exposure to others was very limited of course due to the pandemic. But as time went on we realized how anxious she became in large groups. She has never been to daycare and would soon be starting Pre-K4. So we figured this would be a nice way to lessen the shock and would expose her to others. Miss Joanna is a dream come true along with the other staff members. Our daughter ran right into the room like a pro on her very first day. The environment is very colorful, friendly and we love everything about this location. Miss Joanna has a way with the kids and we adore her very much! If you're thinking about enrolling your little one... DO IT! You won't regret it :)

We absolutely love the little gym in Montclair! My daughter is in the beast class, but started off as a birdie and has learned so much! The instructors are so interactive with the kids and are so kind with so much patience! It’s such a positive and happy atmosphere and both my daughter and I look forward to our weekly class!

We started my son at The Little Gym of Montclair a few months ago to develop his social skills and confidence and he is thriving! He loves his teacher and is making so many friends. Let me start off by saying I have never met a friendlier group of people, the staff, and the other parents are sooo friendly. They make you feel like you are one big family. My son was a little shy at first but warmed right up to Ms. Kelly and Ms. Joanna he had so much fun we decided to enroll 2x a week! I highly recommend this gym for your little one to become extremely social and learn motor skills and balance.

Update: We have been attending for almost a full year and my son still loves it! He's learning a lot from the Little Gym and building relationships with his teachers and even other kids! They change up the activities and skills, they ev3n change around the equipment often keeping the kids excited every class! We love attending and highly recommend to kids of all ages

I’ve been taking my children to the Little Gym in Montclair for over 10 years. We’ve celebrated birthdays and attended many classes at this location. The staff are always so friendly, energetic, patient and professional. Each weekly class we attend are always so fun and different! Keeping my little one engaged and excited. But, what really keeps us coming back is the staff. They’re all really wonderful and playful! My kids have loved all of their teachers over the years. The facility is always very clean too!

We love everything about the program. Especially the wonderful instructors who are always super enthusiastic and genuinely happy to be teaching the kids. We love their attention to detail and the activities they plan each week. My daughter is always excited when I reminder her it is a "Little Gym Day." Staff is incredibly helpful and run the party from start to finish. Coach Danielle is energetic and keeps the young kids entertained and moving. As the parent host, I was able to enjoy the party with my daughter and also mingle with the other parents. Highly recommend!

My 4 year old daughter was excited to try out The Little Gym. I visited the website to check class options. Then I called in advance and spoke to someone who made sure there was room for her. She saved her spot in the class and then sent me a waiver to sign through text message. We arrived 5 minutes early and made friends quickly with another family. We were delighted to see that they had even written "Welcome Lianna" on the black board to greet my child for her first class. Then the teacher came out to transition classes. She asked us if we needed masks and I replied "no, thank you". She said "well, you need them." I asked if we would be refused service if we didn't wear them and she said said yes, so we left. The mask mandate is no longer active in NJ and it was stated not once on the website, on the call or on the waiver that they require face coverings. Thankfully, my daughter is pretty resilient. As long as we can help it, our family has decided WE WILL NOT SUPPORT ANY BUSINESS THAT DISCRIMINATES against patrons in any way. My children and I are NOT sick or dangerous and we should not be treated as such.

My son absolutely loves coming here! He gets to run around and climb and jump! The class is wonderful about incorporating skills for them to practice and the teachers are warm, friendly, energetic and passionate about what they do. I love that there is an opportunity for my son to interact with other children his age in a safe and fun environment. The price is very reasonable and the space they play in is colorful, large and well padded!

I wish I can give 100 starts....My daughter has been coming since June and loves it..I'll ask her if she wants to go to gymnastics and see Mr. Mike and Ms. JoAnna and with the biggest smile she says YES!!!!! She had her party today and ALL STAFF in attendance was the BEST!!!! I'm so glad I choose to book her party with you all. Everyone was so helpful and very pleasant, Mr. Mike did a wonderful job with the gym activities..all the kids had a wonderful time, I over heard some kids even saying they wish the can come every day..

We can't say enough great things about TLG of Montclair. My son was a pandemic baby and we enrolled him at TLG to work on socialization skills. We were a bit weary since we were COVID conscious, but their thorough sanitation and disinfecting protocols are superb. It took a while for my son to warm up, but the staff worked with him with so much patience and enthusiasm. He still has his mini meltdowns sometimes, but he gets so excited for gym now! Shoutout to Ms. JoAnna, Mr. Mike and Ms. Daniella! They are amazing!! If you are looking for a sign to enroll your child, this is it!

I had never heard of The Little Gym before and a couple weeks ago a stranger in Carters suggested I check it out. I think she noticed how active my little one was. I made an appt for a trial class today and couldn't be happier. All the flips and running around my LO loves to do at home (as I tear out my hair), she was able to do and more during her class. Her teacher Mary was great; so patient, attentive and active. I signed up for future classes as the rate was too good not to. They check temp before you enter and everyone wears a mask and the equipment is sanitized and wiped down. Looking forward to coming back next week!

We LOVE TLG Montclair!! We’ve been attending with two children now for the past 3 years and cannot say enough about the facility, staff, and friends we’ve made. From day one we have felt extremely comfortable and welcome. The children are encouraged to learn at their own pace and are never forced to do a skill if they don’t feel ready, parents cheer each other’s children on when new skills are learned, the facility is immaculate, and the teachers not only love their jobs, but love watching the children grow and achieve new milestones.

We’re an extremely conservative family with covid and distancing, but we couldn’t feel more safe and comfortable at TLG. Knowing how they sanitized the equipment & shared toys pre-covid, we know they are going above and beyond even more so with the pandemic. I’ve personally never seen a staff member or student over 2 without a mask, they are doing temperature checks, and have hand sanitizer throughout the facility to ensure everyone’s safety. We feel extremely comfortable going there knowing that they shut down between classes to deep clean the gym. I cannot say enough about this wonderful place, it has become our second home.

Horrible experience. Upon reading good reviews we decided to take an introductory class, wasn't too impressed with the activity level. What put me off and alarmed me the most was that they allow unwell kids to the class who were coughing around and spreading germs. That is a big red flag specially in current scenario with different kind of virus spreading all around. All of us got sick post the class. Furthermore, when I sent an email to management there was no reply back. I believe they have too many students already and don't value new enrollment and most importantly the safety of all those to come to class. Do not recommend at all. Very disappointed.

I loved that I could go online, pick a date and time to reserve a spot and that I didn't have to wait to talk to someone to do this.

Communication was professional right from the beginning. I felt reassured every step of the way that everything would be taken care of. They were very organized and kept everything moving along.

I liked that the instructors were friendly and that the kids were engaged and had a united purpose. At some parties, it is very chaotic.The kids run around and they don't necessarily play with the birthday child. I liked that while there was organized activity, the kids had free time as well.The staff was amazing. I've already recommended The Little Gym to my co-workers.

We held my son’s 5th birthday party at The Little Gym of Montclair. The staff was attentive and wonderful with the children! I dropped off decorations and food in advance and they set up and cleaned up. I highly recommend hosting your child’s party there! We did superhero training and my son felt like a superstar! I really like how engaged the instructors are with the kids. There is lots of support and encouragement. The class moves at a good pace as the attention span of kids can be very limited. I like that there is structure to the class program, but the kids also have the freedom to explore on their own. Having the practice classes is also a major plus! And I love that music is incorporated into the program. It’s been a very positive experience for my son. We enjoy The Little Gym of Montclair a lot!

Let me start by saying that the party was very well organised. The staff was very helpful, cordial, polite , patient, accommodating and went above and beyond of what we asked. The playing time was optimized well and the kids enjoyed themselves. The superhero theme was perfectly suited for my 5 year olds Powerpuff girls theme. We had a great time, but I had 2 tiny comments regarding the amount of time reserved for food and cake cutting and the party room space.
If the party slot was 2 hours, then everything would have gone more smoothly. Just 30 mins for food and cake makes it a little rushed, especially for parties where we have 20+ kids and 40 adults. 1 hour of play and 1 hour of food would make everything more efficient and we could have maybe mingled with our guests more, gotten a few more pictures before the decor came down etc. And the second issue is related to the space. The room is good enough for the kids, but it becomes a little cramped when there are 20+ kids and accompanying adults. Im not sure what can be done about it, but maybe we can have all adult seating outside and also have more extra chairs to accommodate the adults. Besides that, everything else was awesome. Great place for birthdays. Had my daughter's 5yr birthday there. Ages ranged from 1.5 to 10 yrs old and everyone had a blast. They allowed us to make the party 2 hrs long since we took the last slot of the day. Good mix of structured activities and free play. Staff was great, accommodating to our requests and made sure the kids had fun. Would definitely recommend.

When we moved to Montclair over 5 years ago there were a number of choices for children’s “gyms” and play spaces. We tried them all and IMO this Little Gym location has been the best choice for both of our daughters.
The staff has been the same since we started here (that says a lot about ownership and culture) and they are the best. Little Gym corriculum is taken seriously here, but implemented in a great way (hence serious fun).Their play times outside of your child’s class vary so there’s always a time you can usually make during the week. They offer an array of different classes as your child gets older, even a summer camp. I can’t say enough good things about this Little Gym location.
