II have been a member for years and could not be more pleased with the high level of professionalism and friendliness from the staff and management. They offer a large variety of classes that meet the needs of all fitness levels. The gym is kept clean and if there is an issue, management addresses it right away. I was recently invited to visit two high priced gyms in the area and I must say that I could not even compare the quality of their machines and the services they had to offer to what we get for the price we pay at Tilton Fitness.

Tilton Fitness is a gym with alot of high end amenties, such as a sauna, pool, and hot tub as well as modern and up-to-date cardio equipment, lifting equipment, and weight machines. There are small things I have noticed while being a member for close to two years. The cleanliness can use some more consistancy and attention. For months there has been pieces of the ceiling in the weightlifting area on the tile floor, along with a missing drop top ceiling tile missing. Its in the corner of the gym so not alot of employees see it but thats not really an excuse. I know a year or so ago there was some flooding near the cardio equipment, and some of the TVs ON the treadmills do not work, which doesnt seem to be getting fixed. Its not a necessity to a workout but it is part of the treadmill and should be in working condition. Some of the TVs have on the same channel and its mostly news, and other tvs are not on or do not work. Other things are the layout of the gym is slightly awkward, and not all (most) members are exactly friendly including trainers. Trainers/group classes sometimes use an entire area of the gym, including a majority of equipment, so you have to compensate. I think that is unfair.
There are a plethora of classes that come with your membership, and some that you have to pay for individually to attend. Additionally, I get the impression that alot of people who attend this gym do not take it seriously. It is expensive and I think the gym should be in better condition.

I am a swimmer and this is by far the cleanest pool around. I just wish they had more lanes. 2 isn't enough. Be prepared to share a lane.

Super clean and good lowkey spot. Everyones nice and they have a lot of classes but there aren't a whole lot of machines and nthe place is pretty small. Can definitely get the same workout at a planet or retro for half the price. Its only really worth the price if you take advantage of all their classes and pool and stuff.

The best gym I haver walked into. Those who complain of their prices being high have obviously not looked at gyms in the northern part of the state with similar amenities. Tilton is a bargain! As far as elderly or people involved in rehab are concerned, I'm in rehab and as old as dirt, and all I can say is, you'd best get used to it, old age is not the same as it once was, we're everywhere. And we're here to stay, no more relegating us to baking cookies and household chores, we're going to that great gym with the great people, TILTON!

I would not recommend use of this overpriced facility. The Brick location bathrooms were not maintained and had deplorable filth. Additionally Brick Tilton was not enforcing its own dress policy in the locker rooms. I Had to address this with the manager Matt B. He assured it would all be addressed. However, I had found the locker room and steam to be in disgusting conditions again (see enclosed pictures). Many times members were also using the blow dryer to dry off their male parts. The Steam room was once again found in disgusting condition with mold, clumps of hair and tobacco packets stuck to the wall! The mold had been there for a long time as the pictures indicate it didnβt happen overnight. I addressed matters with Matt each time. One time he later came up at his leisure interrupting me while I was working out on the floor. I asked him for compensation for my time with being bothered to write emails and multiple discussions when I just simply come to work out. He then made it like I was the issue and said βI chooseβ to write emails or to use my own time. How ridiculous to treat someone when things are clearly mismanaged. Very poor customer service by Matt. This level of customer service was also found with staff at other locations as well and in all instances it lead me to have to reach out to corporate since management failed. Another example was The WiFi was not working when they owned the Mays Landing location. Staff constantly had no clue about why it was not working and did not care to address it or get it resolved. The Steam rooms or sauna, pools, and equipment are constantly broken at Galloway, Mays Landing, Brick, and Manahawkin. None of the gym locations send out text alerts advising of updates with their facilities. I asked Dana from Brick about this who took my phone number twice and assured she would get back but you guessed it, no response. Management does not care about the members as it allows them to work out in filth, breath in moldy air from the steam rooms, ignores member recommendations/request, and fails to notify its members on crucial facility updates. I just got sick of overpaying for a clear lack of service and broken amenities. I left after being a member for several years but should have left much sooner upon reflection. They condoned Mattβs behavior since Matt still manages but was βsadβ to see me go??? I was later offered a promotion to come back and was entertaining it as long as things changed in Brick but Matt put a note in their system to end that. This is retaliation to me. It also sends a clear message, that Tilton does not like its members who try to address staffβs failures of customer service. Overall, Tilton is overpriced for the poor quality of customer service, lack of professionalism, and unkept cleanliness. See enclosed pictures for yourselves on the condition found of the Brick location steam room and locker room (click on my name for full list of pictures). The pictures really speak for themselves (CLICK ON MY NAME to view all). These are totally unacceptable conditions I experienced and disgusting! Next time your in this location be sure to keep an eye out for any brown slime and mold in the showers or steam room! Hopefully this input will give those all an educated decision.

Enjoy working out there, but was a little disappointed in the lack of instructions on the gym. I thought I was going to receive some guidance from the trainer. So I pretty much figured things out on my own. Didn't know how to run the equipment..what equipment to use...found out there are sanitary wipes and filtered water. I still don't see the difference between this gym and Plant Fitness. Oh...there are mints on the way out.

Itβs clean, very spacious, not to crowded even at peak times. Itβs way to hot and the stereo has a lot of dead spots, music selection could be better. Could use more windows in the workout area instead of upfront by the front desk entrance. The employees have no clue, cant answer any questions, deny knowing about club problems even after being informed every week.

Aside from something not working from time to time, and some misused space. Good for the price, would be great to move some of the cardio equipment over to the seating area and get some more strength training equipment. Overall I am very happy with this gym, never too busy and always clean.

Lots of people I've met from this gym use the amenities like the Jacuzzi and Sauna, including myself. It's in part the main reason why I'm a member here. Neither of these amenities ever seem to be in working order (some weight/cardio machines are out of order as well) and the employees are rude and do not seem to care. Do not waste your time and money at this location until the issues at hand are taken care of and the staff/ management are more polite with their customers.

I went for pricing and to see what they had. Staff was very pleasant unlike the new La Fitness in Brick Plaza the manager was to pushy and NOT HELPFUL at all. It was supposed to open today but they were not and on top of that they wanted a 50.00 fee for just joing. When I asked about senior plans or disibility plans he didn't know. And he couldn't tell me what ins plans they worked with. Perrsonally just from that horrid experience I would sign up with Tilton and pay the extra a month. But when I am told it's only 25 a month and it's a monthly gym but I need to fork over 208.00 to even join they can keep there nonsense and when they come back down to reality then talk to me. Ohhh and they need a new manger that knows what he's doing. So I'll be at Tilton

I have been a member for only a short time but I've noticed so many things wrong. Luckily I'm not locked in for a one or two year membership. I only go to use the pool, sauna, hot tub, steam room and a few of the exercising machines and weights. First week the steam room was broke about 10 days next the hot tub broke going on week 3 supposedly waiting on a part. Next the sauna the past few days the temperture has been inadequate to what it should be the thermostat has been reading 158 degrees instead of 170 degrees which is the norm. The area of the pool is extremely cold and unfortunately it's either too cold or extremely warm when asked about it I was given some half wit story about the outside temperatures. I feel it should be at a comfort temperature so that when you get out of the pool you don't feel like you just participated in the "Polar Bear Plunge." Also should be in consideration of my observance that majority of the swimmers are seniors. In about two weeks a new La Fitness will be opening down the street at a much less rate and if your a senior they offer silver sneakers which is either free or a minimal amount. And the pool area is at a comfortable temp pool and open area. Next let's rate the cleanliness of the facility a one star. In the handicap bathroom by the pool area the baby changing table has two clothing stickers on it and baby poop. The floor has dried up hair that has been mopped around from one side to the other for weeks. Today the bucket of water was horribly dirty. This companies only concern is membership and the reality of this story is if membership depletes because of people being unhappy there won't be a club. BEWARE! Take a free pass before signing on the dotted line and giving your credit card number.

Monthly fee kept on increasing with no information about increase, no email message, no communication. Previous email message to management about the increase went completely unanswered. It's a super clean facility, with very good staff, my original trainer (Paul) was excellent. It was very difficult for me to go during the summer/fall (when I had a 7 day/wk work schedule), which is my fault. But cost is too high now!

I absolutely love this gym! It is always very clean, staff is friendly and they offer FREE childcare. There is a review by a Erik traks that I feel I should comment on. He said the childcare area was dirty and had a cockroach. My kids spend an hour there 5 days a week and the chilcdcare room is spotless!! Alexa has also watched both my kids and she was nothing but professional and caring!!!

Recurring flooding problem, equipment is neglected, yoga in the lobby
I've been a member of this gym since it opened three years ago. Initially, I liked it. The gym is roomy and clean with lots of equipment. It had a 'soft room' for yoga and other gentler forms of exercise. Recently, they screwed punching equipment onto the back wall of the 'soft room', saying it was to be used for physical therapy. (There is a separate physically therapy facility in the building.) While they worked on the room, yoga classes were held in the lobby β hardly a place to find inner peace. This went on for months.
When it rains hard, expect a partially accessible gym with a much smaller choice of equipment to use. (Tarp is draped over half of the equipment section.) Often the cycle type I use is taken by other members. If it floods, expect some equipment to be neglected for weeks or even months. No one bothers to plug in a power/network cable to restore the equipment to full functionality again. Even without flooding, some equipment is labeled βout of serviceβ a month or more before itβs repaired.
This is an expensive gym. I've cancelled my membership and I'm going elsewhere.

Nice gym with pool but slipped hidden fees into the sign up fees like being able to charge $31 for "upgrades" to the gym and I haven't noticed a single new piece of equipment. I have been a member at 3 different gyms and not a single one has charged it's member because we pay monthly memberships where does all that money go? When my contract is up I will go back to my old gym.

This gym is amazing. The facility is kept immaculate. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. Everyone is very knowledgeable and an expert at their specialty. The gym has such a wide range of equipment. If there is a piece of equipment you like to use or want to try, chances are they have 2. There are so many different types of classes. Something for everyone at every fitness level. They have a pool, sauna, steam room, showers etc. The people who work here genuinely care that you reach your fitness goals and will help you reach them. They are constantly having information sessions, they have workouts of the day posted if you are clueless in what to do, they have this machine that basically tells you everything going on in your body, which helps you make a course of action into getting healthy. The staff seemingly knows everyone's name there and it has a real local feel to it. It's not just a gym, it's a health center and if you really want to get healthy, this is the place to be.

I work at Ocean Medical Center and for your birthday they give a free 2 week pass to Meridian Health Fitness. I decided to give it a try and go to the one in Brick, first glance the place is very nice and very clean. The girl at the front desk was not very nice, I didn't have intention on buying a membership but thats no reason to be short with me. On my second day I asked how much a membership was and the guy behind the counter didn't know. How do you work there and not know how much a membership is. They should have a print out that tells the client all the costs. Maybe if she was nice and showed me the facility I would have reconsidered. My first impression is the place is nice and clean but has rude and unknowing staff. I will finish my 2 week pass and move on a to another gym that will take the time to show me around and the equipment they have. It's unfortunate I work for meridian and will not return there. I gave 2 stars for the facility being clean.

This facility is over 6 months late in opening fully.
It was promoted for a Spring 2015 opening but as of October 15 it is still less than half open, while charging full dues for the limited facility.
Their website shows an elaborate aquatics and functional training center, none of which exists and no target date for opening is given. So approach this place with caution, because contrary to what their website says, there is no Aquatic Center with Whirlpool and Sauna, no Swim Lessons, no Dedicated Functional Training area, no Juice Bar & Cafe.
In other words, don't do what I did. Don't sign a contract for a year at $57 a month expecting to receive all of the above benefits, because none of them exist. All you get are some machines and free weights and free classes, which is exactly what another gym down the road (you know who they are) offers for $20.

Very disappointed. Not everything is open to use still to this date... I asked when will the pool be open the answer was don't know... So I asked then why are we paying full price answer was because not everyone will use the pool. I said that's why I joined and was told that couldn't be helped. That they hired a new crew for pool so they did know. A group of us transferred there from brick hospital assuming the pool would be available. Why are we paying for something we can't use.
