I used to live in area and still would visit after leaving because I loved this gym. I could completely zone in the cardio without people banging weights around or talking too much. Staff was nice, classes fun. I loved that they used to have womens separate training area. I am so sad to see that they closed.Pool good too.This area needs a health focused gym that is geared to young and old alike. Retro has good classes but i cannot focus there, too many milkshakes and bodybuilders:) hope that Hackensack Medical or another hospital will take over

I was mistreated and turned away. I was in a car accident and I am trying to get strong and healthy. I also have social media platforms. It is my intention to track my progress,as well as share some of my struggles and achievements with my followers. Manager Blair was very rude. Told me he wanted to go threw all my social media platforms and look threw my personal sites. I felt very uncomfortable. That's an invasion of privacy. Also asking what camera I, or my camera man(who would only be recording me, no one else) would be using. Why would that matter? Says you will not record or take pictures of any kind. People record their progress in gyms all over the world. It is not illegal to track your progress. He says we don't do that here . I asked a few members if they would be uncomfortable if I recorded myself and my progress. They all said no. He got mad and asked me to leave (he had pulled me into his private office by front desk) I am a social media influencer,but I had not even considered listing the location of the gym so I would not be stalked.. however if I did all this would do is give the gym in this small town some positive light and attract customers. I am very disappointed and dissatisfied. I was treated wrongly and denied a tour, even though I filled out the form . This will be vlogged/blogged about... Great job tilton of West Creek NJ. ! You should reconsider who you hire to manage your business. Blair should not work with people in my opinion

Made it clear that I was only joining the gym to use the stepper machine. Sat down, went through the process, committed to a twelve month membership, went to work out and the stepper machine was completely inoperable. I was very, very disappointed. I made it clear that the only reason I was joining was to use that machine. Very disappointed.

Even Planet Fitness, that is not a gym for in depth fitness people has friendly, helpful staff and are able to give guest passes immediately online or at the counter. This place the girls at the counter were not at all friendly or helpful and left me standing at the counter giving me cold looks, no helpfulness at all when I had submitted for a pass online and only received an email saying the "inquiry submitted". How can u staff a desk with such unhelpful and unfriendly staff that arent even able to override a poorly set up technical system? If your sign up sends an email immediately but doesnt populate a pass immediately you are ABSOLUTELY losing business in this very instant 21st century. That would not have bothered me as much as the looks from the counter girls that acted like they dont want or care if new people come in anyway.

I do not recommend - and hear me out, it’s not about the facilities or people. I signed up for a year pass for around $37 last year, the price has since increased to $50 a month and when my year was up, they continued to charge my credit card, they actually charged me TWICE this month ($90!!!!!). I called once before my year was up to try to cancel earlier and they claimed all I could do is pay the money upfront and save a few bucks so I decided to wait it out and pay month to month. I called another time to cancel closer to my year-end date and they said to come in, I finally was able to make it in and they claimed I had to put in a request to cancel and it would take 30 days to process - so they said I would have to pay my current month and the next month, that’s $100!! I have not stepped foot in this place for over 4 months and here is the kicker, Kyle Stenson told me I had to sign electronically (on a keypad without a document) to terminate my membership - and I asked if this held me responsible for anything and he said no it’s just to terminate, then he printed out the paper and it’s a contract for termination IN TWO MONTHS. So he had me sign a contract without me reading it. If that’s not morally wrong I don’t know what is.

I have been in this gym since I was 3 years old and my Dad played racquetball tournaments! The variety of equipment and classes, motivational and educated staff and overall environment has secured my place as a member today. Love this gym!

Been here several times while visiting family on LBI. The facility has plenty of exercise and cardio equipment, weights and machines as well as offering numerous classes. There is also a pool which i did not use. Annual membership encouraged but short term as well as daily rates are available. I exercise often and im a memeber of the YMCA as well as La Fitness. Tilton Fitness fits my needs when visiting LBI. Mens locker room is small but clean. Equipment is older but maintained. Ill be back. If you're looking for a good workout with plenty of options to exercise, Tilton will work for you.

I love this gym. Always clean (btw the gentleman is super nice and friendly ! ). Judgement free zone. There is a mix of all ages so no one feels uncomfortable. Gym is big enough that it never feels packed.

I love the classes and the instructors here. They are really knowledgeable about how to modify for different injuries and are really encouraging. They know their students and I always feel welcome.

Be cautious of the agreements you sign there. Wouldnt recommend them at all.They will represent the contract one way, then bill you without notifing you.

I am posting this review to share a recent experience I had at this facility. I joined several months ago as I liked the combination of classes offered (both in the group class room and the pool). The pool seemed clean and it didn't seem I had to worry about the water quality. On Tuesday before Thanksgiving, I attended an aqua Zumba class which was very enjoyable and a good workout. Afterwards I spent 10 minutes in the adjacent hot tub. When showering at the facility I rinsed it my bathing suit and placed it right in the washer at home as it smelled heavily of chlorine. When I retrieved the suit from the washer I was dismayed to see the chlorine had ruined it. A formerly navy suit was now a mottled grey/blue mess.
I didn't return to Meridian for a week (had houseguests for Thanksgiving) But when I did return the following Tuesday, I showed the gentleman at the desk the suit and explained what happened. He remarked that the chlorine level had been reported to be very high by a lifeguard the week before but had since been corrected. He said he would have the general manager call me. I did receive a call the next day but the general manager claimed no responsibility. He said there was no proof that my suit was damaged there and wasn't willing to take a member's word or offer an apology let alone any modest compensation. He was completely dismissive.
When sharing my story with neighbors I have been told numerous stories about the poor water quality (e coli) that is regularly found when that water is tested. That probably explains why the water had enough chlorine in it to destroy a bathing suit (not to mention what that much chlorine does to the skin!)
I like the facility but I'm annoyed that this happened and disappointed in their response.
