From initially signing up (Nov 2024) I was already being pushed to up my membership when I clearly stated I needed a simple membership 24/7 access because of my work schedule, and wasn’t interested in getting a trainer… Mike just didn’t seem to listen to any of what I said and continued to want me to get a personal trainer and up my membership. Later on in about June, I found out I was going to be moving soon and wanted to know what the cancellation policy was. A staff member told me that as long as I showed proof of moving outside of a 50 mile radius of a hehe fitness I could get out of my contract without any stipulations…. I revisited this conversation with Mike and he did not honor that at all and proceeded to tell me that the staff member was no longer employed at Urge at didn’t know who I was talking about after giving him a very accurate description…. I tried to cancel multiple times and he would always say “Sorry, I’m in a meeting” or “Sorry I have a client shortly”.

Long story short, the facility is good, the classes are good, the only truly crowded time is after work around 5:30-7:30ish. But you can find a better gym in the Ewing area because management sucks.

Jada helped me with a cancellation process due to me moving away. She was very helpful, detailed in explaining the process, and made sure I understood everything that was going on with what she was doing. If you’re coming to the Ewing location ask for Jada!

I have been very pleased with this gym. I had not been to a gym in a few years but Mike has made me feel very welcome. Members have been helpful and friendly.Gym is always clean and I have not had to wait for machines. Nick,my coach has not only been showing me how to use machines and exercises to strengthen, but also has taught me correct breathing techniques while working out and has a positive mindset.Very pleased with this gym.

This is the first gym I’ve ever gone to or purchased a membership for. The gym is clean and the showers get hot. I’ve never had a problem with staff there other than an awkward compliment but I can see how some can be considered rude. I just say hello and go about my business.

Please make sure you READ EVERY DOCUMENT they try to summarize when you sign up!! They will not teach you machines without paying for a personal trainer, which is like double the membership per year so I would suggest putting in some work at home before you buy the membership so you know what feels right to your body. Some machines have diagrams to show you what to do.

They also have a clause that says they aren’t responsible for personal injury so I would really emphasize if you’re considering, make sure you know what your anatomy is like so you don’t do the wrong thing with your body.

I should mention you have to commit to 12 months. I was told by a staff member that they only allow you to cancel without penalty within the first 2 months and the last 2 months of your contract. Please inform me if I’m wrong urge.

With the premium plan there’s no guests allowed, but every class except boxing is free, and you get full access 24/7. It’s $30-something a month with a larger annual service/maintenance fee that comes way later. I think the premium is the best option because the basic membership has no classes included and very limited hours on weekends.

I personally would not get anything to eat or drink from here, as the smoothie bar is part of the front desk,,, but there’s a drugstore and quick food places in the same shopping center if you need something. The other locations have a sauna allegedly; I’m assuming the membership is the same price for each location so if you think a sauna comes w your membership you’d have to travel for it.

I’ve seen a couple signs in there about fees for not putting weights back, bringing people who aren’t members, etc. I think that’s doing too much but I’m not the owner so why would they care lol they probably go on vacation with those fees.

I think a day pass for a guest is the same amount as a membership per month so make your choices wisely or go to the purple gym w your friends/family but I honestly don’t have a problem w this gym so far. Been going for a month or 2 now. If anything changes I’ll write something else.

I know urge loves to read and reply to the reviews so if something I said is inaccurate, correct me without being passive aggressive. That may be very difficult to whoever runs this page, judging from the other responses. However, respect and neutrality are bare minimum for a professional account and there is an obvious pattern in which the representative falls short in those areas.

No shirt, no shoes, no problem! Whether you just rolled out of bed and want to workout in slides and pjs or just got off a construction site and want to workout in jeans and boots, you can. No strict dress code policy or memberships. Bring your friends after 9pm for free access. There's always a treadmill down and they pulled their cable TV service from them. Not often crowded but members will look at you crazy if you ask them to move their tri-pod/belongings out of the way in places where you're trying to workout.

great gym overall, been coming here for years

-needs filtered water fountain station
- no sauna/steam room which isnt really the gyms fault due to lack of space

Edit - renovations done recently make this place 10 times better than it has been in the past.

I called ahead to ask if the gym offered free trial passes and was told they did, and that I’d just need to fill out a form. When I arrived, however, I was informed that free passes were not available and that I would need to pay for entry. I don’t mind paying for a day pass, but I was disappointed by the inconsistent information and the pushy sales approach. Ultimately, I chose to take my business elsewhere.

The yoga and pilates classes are cool and all of the instructors have been great. Unfortunately as far as the gym itself, they really need to work on their approach with sales and members. I signed my teenager up for a 3 day trial pass, my phone was called 4 times in a row while I was at work by one of the staff, even after I sent it to voicemail. This was after I already spoke with another staff member and already set up a time to come in, that I was bombarded with phone calls one after the other. When I got there with my daughter I was told another story, that I needed to pay for the class. Then when we left the manager was extremely rude and aggressive, instead of saying "did you want to do another one" (the site promised 3 day trial) he demanded to know when we would be back to fill out the paperwork in a nasty aggressive tone, as if he was annoyed. The only thing that needed to happen here for me to start taking my teenager with me was a basic transaction of human kindness from the staff and a level of customer service. Since it ended up being the exact opposite because of someones specific nasty agressive attitude, that membership is blown.

The gym great! It’s a smaller gym but I used to work out in the morning so I did not have an issue with the size. It’s clean and well kept. Mike, the General Manager, is awesome, he used to be my trainer. The contract is tricky so be sure to read it. I was a member for about 4 years but if you don’t want to be stuck for a year I would advise you go month to month because you can’t break the contract for 1 year.

This place is the worst! Club is small, unkept, and overcrowded.

Mike is arrogant and rude . the staff is condescending using the contract to shield themselves from negative feed back/ any issues you may run into.

Being a member at a gym is a lifestyle choice and sometimes life styles change due to certain circumstances out of our control and Urge Fitness has no sympathy, empathy or flexibility. Their bottom line is simple, they just want your money. Disgraceful.

And also to the owner that hides and chooses not use his name for discreetness, you’re not the only one. Hypocrite. This review is not spam. You don’t like people first amendment maybe you shouldn’t be a “business owner” again, disgraceful.

I regret signing up to this gym. I got in a contract for a year and then they signed up again without my consent. When the two years were up, and I went to cancel my membership, they told me I needed to wait for TWO MONTHS. The classes are horrible and the trainers are out of shape. It is small and the lighting is not the best. Their daycare is always closed or they don’t even let you know in advance that it will be closed due to short staff. I can’t wait until I don’t have to go to this gym ever again. Also, it is small and it is always packed.

DON’T be fooled by the “promotion” of 9.99 per month. That is actually a 15 month contract for 30/month with a discount of 9.99 for the first 3 months only. You cannot cancel unless you pay the entire contract in full.

You better check your credit card statements regularly. I went cancel my account but policy says I have to pay for another two months while my "cancelation request is being processed". Meanwhile you cannot hold any payment to them because it will terminate the whole process. Guess what, few days later they charged me $20 bucks without any reason. In 2021 there were 2 credit card adjustments instead of one so they charged me extra 52.05. When I signed up for this gym price included towel service and I could bring friend to workout with me at anytime. Both options are cancelled without informing clients. Showers were turned off for about year as they said due to covid-19. Even thought, we heard in every news how important staying clean was to stop spreading pandemic.

Thay have pattern that after someone leaves a negative comment, they make positive one from freshly created account...

Response to whoever writes from URGE site: I blocked one payment because my account was frozen and I shouldn't be charged in a first place according to one of the managers, I did pay it all thought. How could I be late on payments if I choose automatic payments while signing contract? Maybe you should stop lying in those comments and stop blaming your customers for running business in such a shitty way? If you're such a great gym with thousands of members as you state, why cannot you afford losing one customer who pays only $29.99 a month and start charging him over $100 a month while in cancelation process.

PS. Now I know why they didn't want me to go. I see like 10 other former urge clients at my new gym in Penesylvania (yes I drive from Ewing to PA, that's how much this gym sucks) which is more expensive and way away when urge was just around the corner.

December 23 2024 - Horrible experience, I went christmas shopping and didn’t have any money on my debit card after. I wake up the next day and urge fitness is charging me for my membership $60 instead of the regular $20 because I didn’t have anything in the account. It would be nice if there was a notification on the app or email that I had a payment due so I am prepared at least. I called and just talked to robots and had to wait 10 minutes just to talk to an actual person and they didn’t help me out at all just took my money.

If i could give ZERO stars i would. They charge you for all types of hidden fees. Equipment is terrible and never fixed when broken. This place is a complete joke, money hungry people over there. If you need to pause your membership goodluck. Be ready to jump through all kinds of hoops and still get charged every month just to have it paused. God forbid your pregnant wife needs to pause her membership she still get charged for the month, and the staff lied to her face that it was only for one month and did not tell her that in fact it is every month! Do yourself a favor and go to another gym! Been a member since they opened their location originally, so i’ve seen the decline of the gym. To add further the owner leaving comments on the reviews simply refuses to accept that their customer service is terrible and the gym is not worth any amount of money. I am a member on a family plan so their claim that i am not in the data base is in fact false and my review is not spam.

"I’m extremely disappointed with the way Urge Fitness Club in Ewing Township has handled my membership. Despite my one-year membership ending over a year and a half ago, the gym continues to withdraw money from my account without my authorization or any notification regarding membership renewal.

This practice is not only unprofessional but feels like an unethical attempt to charge members without their consent. Good business practices should include clear communication and obtaining customer consent before any renewals or further charges are made. I would urge the management at Urge Fitness Club to review their policies and show respect for customer rights.

If this matter isn’t resolved promptly, I’ll be left with no option but to pursue further action, including filing a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and considering legal recourse.

I’m not one for posting reviews or talking down about a company, but I think before people join, they should know the facts. I signed up when I first moved here and went for their most basic plan and after paying for a few months I was hit with the “annual fee”. All is well, no problems. I did question because the timing seemed off but whatever. Then as I got more comfortable with the gym and started to want to go in the mornings before work I went to the membership that offered that ability and still within the year time frame was hit with the annual charge again. That should’ve been my red flag to begin with that this company is just after whatever funds they can sneakily take from you. Fast forward to a few months ago, I stopped going as much after getting pregnant mainly due to just being to tired to go, so I made the decision to go in and pause my account. I was told “it’d be $10” and never was it mentioned it was $10 for each of the 3 months I was paused for, so $30 total. At that point, once being fed up and realizing this place is just after money and not retaining their customers I decided to cancel my membership. The gentlemen who helped me explained it would be another 60 days before my cancellation would take effect and that I’d be charged as normal for the months up until. So, after not using the gym since May and stupidly on my part continuing to pay for the “just in case I wanted to go one day”, I now have to continue to pay for something I’m not going to use for another 60 days because “it’s in the contract.” I get contracts and what you sign up for, but I really urge people to do their research and ask the questions before allowing this gym to take any money from you, for equipment that is a lot of the time broken or in use because the gym itself is so small, and all of the hidden fees, truthfully this gym is not worth the money.

I started at this gym about two months ago.
I tried it for a week to see how it went and I loved it.
It has a lot of benefits, your never along. Cuz they always are there for you to answer all your questions. All the Elite clases are awesome, all trainers are very responsible, very good, and attend all your needs.
The most thing I like is that they follow up on your progress.
I have experience in many Gyms before and what they want its just to enroll you and they leave you all by yourself.
They never follow up or ask you about your progress.
But at Urge they are so attentive.
its been about two months and I have already had 4 follow-up appts.

Also, they have child care and the ladies take good care of them. uju
thats awesome.

Im so enthusiasm to continue progressing with them.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE SERVICE. During my one year membership period I moved out of state to Missouri for my new job. I came back during winter break to visit family and went in person to tell them that I knew one of the ways to get out of the contract was if I was no longer in the state and so they immediately stated they needed proof via email so it was in writing. I said no problem and sent them the email back in February after spending 40 mins on the phone with their customer service representative who took notes of everything as well. She said it was in their system and she had received the email and that everything was good from my end for the membership to be cancelled... Fast forward to June I have been getting HOARDED by their 3rd party debt collector known as "Aldous and Associates" telling me I owe $400+. Once again I explain them the situation that I have the proof in written email I sent them including my proof of residency back in Feb. They said they wanted me to send a physical copy (It's 2024, god knows why I assume just to make it more difficult for me) to their PO box. Did so and they apparently never received it and so I sent it again last month in July. Got a call from them today saying they still want me to pay and when I'm asking why as I provided clear proof exactly how they wanted to physically and digitally, the people reaching out to me "Britt" and "Pat" are saying that's just what it says in their system and I can send another letter to appeal explaining why I think I shouldn't pay. They are literally just ABUSING their power and THREATNING me that they will report it on my credit even though I have followed everything Urge and their collectors asked me to do that was stated in their contracts... AVOID URGE FITNESS by all means and go to planet fitness for a simple non contractual membership where they are 100x more understanding and the service is much better. I have attached the screenshot of the email as well and will continue to appeal to the collectors because I'm not paying for something I don't owe when I abided by all of the contractual terms and processes... (UPDATE TO THEIR RESPONSE) **no your contract terms were not upheld as it clearly says cancellation is possible if the member moves out of state. And only reason there was a “lack of payments” is because you guys didn’t cancel my membership even tho I came to you in person to do so and communicated with your sales team via phone AND sent all info via email back in February so please miss me with the bot responses.

I work in the local area and was looking for a local gym to visit. I stopped by the front desk about and asked guest passes and he mentioned that they don't offer guest passes but offer a day pass for $30 which is the same price as an monthly membership. Why would I spend $30 for a day pass? When I questioned him about the website stating that the website offers a free 3-day guest pass membership, he stated that it's only for people who live in a 5 mile radius. I guess this gym doesn't want new members who don't live in the area. That's fine, I will find somewhere else.

**drama post** plz read 🙏 This place is the epitome of all the negative stereotypes gyms receive.

I enrolled and then two days later I left a severely abusive relationship that traumatized me. They continued to take money out and refused to cancel my membership. They told me I had to come in person to cancel.

I had moved about an hour and half away and was petrified of ever returning to the area that man resides (he lived .4 miles down the road from Urge in the new condo community)

I had never step foot into this gym or facility. Honestly, I get they have policies. I emailed them SO MANY TIMES requesting to cancel without having to take five hours out my day.

After several meltdowns of contemplation to take the journey to cancel they presented me with a different option.

Their compromise was a certified letter of cancellation.

After all that turmoil and bothering them they said they can do this for me. It angered and triggered me. It wasn’t worth the $30 I was paying.

I got a new debit card. AFTER ONE FAILED TRANSACTION they put into collections. I have been moving from place to place trying to get approved because I’m a single mom.

This is the last thing I deserve or need. I will be coming in person to sign the cancellation. C u next Tuesday

So, the barcode scanner "works" but only if the fingerprint scanner is down? Your staff says one thing, you say another. This used to be a good gym. You can't force a client to use fingerprint. I will be going to the gym Saturday morning, but it will be to change my membership or cancel it. What good is a 24 hour gym that you to can't access 24 hrs without fingerprint, when there is a working scanner. I know the real reason is so people can't share memberships, but all you have to do is go in as someone is leaving after hours. Gym is ok, the music can be a bit loud at times but nothing too crazy. Staff is staff there are like 3 that are cool the others just ignore you, but for the love of all that is holy fix that damn scanner outside. I am paying for 24 hr access and the barcode scanner hasn't worked in months, so I'm paying for 24 hr access and can't access it 24 hrs. When I called about this they said "use the finger print scanner, come in during business hours, or find another gym". When I mentioned my job doesn't allow me to come in during business hours, his response was "oh well". They keep saying they will fix the scanner and that it's this or that, the scanner should have been tested before being installed. If it isn't fixed I will have to change my membership or cancel it.

I came in to sign up a few months ago and simply asked if I could have a tour of the gym before signing up. The person at the counter immediately responded to my inquiry with hostility, something along the lines of they weren't going to risk their career and their family's livelihood because what I asked for was illegal. I didn't ask to work out or use any of the equipment or facilities, I simply asked for if someone could show me around so I could make an informed decision on if I wanted to sign up or not. I chalked it up to someone having a bad day and left.

Tonight I considered signing up again because it's so close to my work, but decided to check the reviews, and I am so glad I did. The way the owner speaks to people on here is appalling and they should be embarrassed. I think my favorite one is their response of "only deadbeat losers complain online". It's absolutely hilarious coming from the guy who is literally doing nothing but complaining online. It's no wonder their associate at the front desk treated me like such garbage when I came in. I'll continue on driving past this place every day like it doesn't exist.

Edit #1: YOU ARE A LIAR. No one asked me to sign a liability waiver. If the person at the counter had said "sure you can do a tour of the facility if you sign a liability waiver", don't you think I would have simply signed the waiver instead of writing this entire review? Why would I have ever refused to sign that? I was trying to become a member and your associate's lack of professional courtesy was the only reason I didn't sign up that day!!!

Edit #2: Looks like the owner changed their tone, but they're still lying! I was never once offered any sort of waiver to sign, so I would love to see what sort of records you have that show I refused to sign one. You never even had my name in your system to retain such a record. And I have no intention of ever removing my 100% factual review, so don't hold your breath.

Edit #3: I sent an email to the address you provided a few weeks ago, but haven't received a response. I wonder why that is 🤣

I find it perfectly satisfactory… now, at least. The only thing that annoys me is the staff who can be (based on the few people I’VE interacted with more) a little pushy or aggressive. Unlike other gyms I’ve been to, when I signed up at first, the staff told me I signed up at a perfect time because some big fee or cost (don’t remember exactly what as it was a while ago) would be waived. Whatever it was exactly, it doesn’t actually matter bc the guy was lying and toward the end of the process or before I would begin signing stuff (again kinda foggy since it was a while ago but you get the idea) he said something to the effect of “oh, I’m actually mistaken, we’re only doing that for the PREMIUM membership, did you still want the basic one?” It pains me to have to say this about a gym I actually appreciate, but that’s predatory lol. He didn’t make any mistake. I knew he was gonna try to pull something like that.

They also are pretty pushy about asking for 5 star reviews in my experience. I work out by myself and dont interact with the staff much so I enjoy the gym and it has enough equipment for me to get a nice full workout in. If that were the sole basis of my review, I’d give it 5 stars. But the entire reason I’m writing the review is because they were very very pushy for a 5 star review. And I DO understand that people aren’t just gonna leave positive reviews out of the blue. You need to ask, I get it. But too aggressive.

Also, if they can tell that you’re new to lifting or you’re at the beginning of a weight loss journey or whatever, they act more pushy around you because they think you’re more likely to sign up for things, which you probably would be. But as someone who is already a member, you should be able to just do your thing. After I put on a good amount of muscle, they completely stopped approaching me about training sessions and what not. That feels kind of predatory to me as well, but this is obviously just the experience I’ve had. It’s really not a bad gym at all, and there are also a lot of staff I haven’t interacted much with.

If you’re close, have a buddy to go with or a program to use, and you’re willing to accept that you need to either pay a lot of attention while signing up, or be ready to maybe pay a few unexpected fees, I actually WOULD recommend this gym. You usually won’t get people filming, the members are generally very friendly and more than willing to help or give advice if you ask them, plenty of attachments and imo good variety of equipment. Cleaning supplies are always stocked like they should be. At the end of the day, it’s just a gym. The biggest thing I take issue with is some of the staff, and I’ve seen some reviews and responses that really don’t make the manager of the account look too great.

But that’s why I keep to myself! Just keep saying no or tell them “I’ll think about it” if they’re asking you for something you don’t want to do. It’s a perfectly good gym if you can handle the staff and a few fees. If you feel uncomfortable about the idea of dealing with that for a little bit, you can always sign up for planet. There’s one really close and it’s one of the much larger planet locations I’ve been to. Either way, you’ve got options and what matters most is that you know what you’re getting into and know what your goals are. Urge doesn’t NEED to be the means to your goals.

I’m not going to leave a five star review despite their numerous requests, but I will leave four stars, so as not to negatively impact the gym. Consider it an olive branch extended on behalf of people who are nervous about signing up for the gym. Just treat them with respect. Don’t try to take advantage of them. Greed will consume you if you let it. And don’t clap back so hard at people in the reviews. It makes you look bad. Just apologize for their poor experiences and wish them well. If you’re actually interested in improving business, that may go a long way.

Please ignore what others say about this gym. This has been my home gym for the past 9 months and I love it. The staff is always lovely and welcoming and make the experience fun. I like to sit at the bar and chat with everybody and get my protein smoothies that they make in house. The fact that I pay only $30 per month and can do aerial yoga, kick boxing, zumba, all included is wonderful. People need to read their contract and really listen to the person signing them up before signing their names. They can’t take it out on the company for not having the money to pay THEIR BILLS. Rules are everywhere. Stop being petty this is a professional establishment giving jobs to wonderful mature young kids in school and college with bright futures ahead of them, stop shaming the business for having rules. I look forward to starting at the Ewing facility. My initial call was pleasant, though being refered to as "hun" when aware of my name is unprofessional and annoying.
Then 2 days later I had to cancel my initial meeting with a trainer, I was placed on hold 3 times and was asked my full name twice.
I hope the facility is worth the investment.

1/29/2024: So 3 years later I receive a response to my review. Interesting about the claim about top notch customer service by who I assume new management. I will have to think about replying to an invitation to respond to Urge by email as requested.

I have come to believe that customer service has been reduced to impersonal texts and emails and call it customer service. Having spent a career where customer service was priority to support best business practices I think some business leadership had gone to hel.

DO NOT JOIN THIS GYM!!!!
The membership is simply not worth it here. Amenities and equipments are mediocre at best. It will be very hard to cancel your membership. They hit you with all sorts of extra fees such as “manual billing fee” of $20 a month without any explanation. They do not even provide a courtesy call or email to explain to customers before charging random fees. When I asked to speak to someone for cancellation, they made me come back when the “manager is available”, which is VERY inconvenient. Take your money elsewhere! Plenty of great gyms around the area with customer transparency!!!!

Don't use this gym. The employees make false promises, the managers will "be in a meeting" whenever you need to speak to them, and the people that attend their smaller classes are allowed to make racist and insulting comments. They justify everything because one no longer wanted to pay and it turns out that they make charges that one no longer wants to continue doing or does not need, and they say that they cannot stop it. I simply could not continue going to the training sessions that they gave me for the months because of my work. I asked that they stop debiting me and they kept doing it !! they want to keep customers and do as they please. I came in on Tuesday July 11th after 8pm, close to 9 probably around 8:51pm to cancel my membership and was told I had to come before 8pm in order to do so. So that’s fine I said and I came in yesterday, Monday July 17th around 7:50pm and was told them that I have to come before 5pm in order to cancel. I told the employee that I was told before 8pm before so that’s why I came and he told me “well it’s basically tattooed on our foreheads at this point, it’s before 5pm” so I was like ok. The RUDE employee then explained the rules of cancelation and I asked him to repeat it, because he went fast! He then said “oh see I know that you weren’t told come in before 8pm and you forgot” ….. no. Not at all. Before I left I was still nice and said “well u know I just had twins so driving 25 min away from home is far” & he said “YOU THINK 25 MINUTES IS FAR?” I was like “yea, to leave my family; yes” he then said they have daycare and I said I do not want to put my 2 month twins in a daycare and he THEN SAID “oh so you rather leave your kids at home than bring them a few feet away from you at the gym?” I said “well they’re with my boyfriend” & he went “oh you must have a lot of drama in your life” and I said “excuse me? That’s their father” … he said “well you didn’t specify” …. I’m sorry? I did not think MY PERSONAL LIFE mattered so much in the conversation of canceling my membership. I simply walked out because I did not want to be disrespectful and I was not. I called the manager who was more concerned about “yes he was right about the time before 5pm” I said “I don’t care about the time I care that your employee was talking about my personal life, you don’t do that” and was told he would talk to him. The guy had black hair and on the bigger side. Instead of using that energy to argue with me and try to talk about my personal life he should use it to work out. It pissed me off so much and I need to write this review so people are aware of the disrespect I got. Which we ridiculous! I can see looking at the reviews the staff does not care for customer service and it needs to be known!

Update 2023 Feb

Ended contract with the Gym. Paid my last paying in Fall of last year. I saw in January payment was being taken out. I had already cancelled my account and was told that I had paid everything.

Been going to this gym for over a year and recently starting taking the classes. I became a premium member at this gym and that is when the issues started.

The business seems to have issues with providing excellent customer service.

My class was canceled and rescheduled the same day but when I got to the the class no one was actually there. No one called to let me know class was cancelled or being rescheduled. I received a notification via email it was cancel. The class was scheduled for 2pm and it showed up in the app. I received and email from I for at urge fitness saying they were perplexed by me saying my class was canceled and rescheduled at 2pm. There was no effort to even research where the 2pm class would have came from. I did not schedule the 2pm class the company did. Also if there are no 2pm classes on Saturday it should not be listed on the app.

There seems to be communication issues. Instead of calling to clarify the issue they would rather go back and forth with me via email.

My contract said that I have to pay 2 months if I canceled my membership and I didn’t know that til I asked to cancel, even after that I said is ok I will pay 2 months but till I know that you continue ti add fees without any reason, I tried to contact you and send emails to pay 2 months but no one responded back because you want me to pay $850 for nothing

I have now made two attempts to cancel my contract in accordance with the stipulations made in my contract. My dues have always been paid in full and on-time. I hand-delivered a signed and dated cancellation notice and was denied the right to cancel. I read the cancellation policy three times to the attendant behind the counter at the Fairless Hills location (where I initiated the contract), and he read it twice. Each time, I was denied the right to cancel. The general manager approached, leaned over the counter in my face, and yelled at me in an attempt to intimidate me without provocation and said it was after 5 pm and he could not accept the cancellation. It does not specify between the hours of 9am-5pm in my contract, only on their website. I have also sent a signed and dated letter via certified mail with a return receipt request (the other option specified in my contract). I have also filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. It appears after reviewing the BBB website that this is not an isolated incident. I do not feel safe in the establishment after being physically intimidated by the general manager and would never again do business with them again.

Again, I handled myself professionally and have upheld the contract and fulfilled both options to cancel, yet you still have failed to comply. Instead, you continue to make up stories and violated our contract. I have always paid in full and on-time. If you read the reviews on BBB and Google, you will notice that this is not an isolated incident and indicates a pattern of misconduct on your company's behalf. I would encourage your company to start acting professionally and uphold your contracts or you will continue to lose more customers.

This Gym is Lousy, After signing on for a pre trial for 30 days by the third week I wanted to cancel because of the poor conditions of the gym, they refused to cancel my membership they told me I was contracted for a year and will have to pay a yearly fee plus the members fees. They scammed me the employee John that signed me on said if I didn’t like the gym I can cancel within 3 weeks. I did and they refused to cancel my membership and I feel so betrayed. Their machines are old and it smells like mold not to mention the energy in this gym smells horrible I can’t stand it their. God help me. Even Crunch or Planet Fitness is better than this stank pod. Also my bank card was compromised recently so the bank card I had on file at urge fitness was compromised and they were unable to debit my account so they threatened to ruin my credit because I didn’t have an updated debit card on file. Some are giving one star others five I give it a two for the good and bad of the reviews. It's a good facility and has good classes and good people there. But like the one stars, what I was told about the contract and getting out of it does not line up with the real process. It's hard to get out of. Many loop holes and hoops to jump through. Good gym horrible membership program. I would recommend to them them that they actually make it easier so people leave happier and still give good word of mouth and give good reviews rather than squeeze every last due out of people. I have changed gyms so i can go with my family. Otherwise I would continue to recommend this place to others. But i can't especially since i now have other friends fighting to get out of the contract that is not what is promised at sign up.

He wanted to sell me a day pass for $30 when the actual monthly membership is only $19.99. I was going to have my husband and brother sign up as well but the first impression that I got was horrible from the front staff so I’ll be going somewhere else. They could’ve easily gotten three memberships only if they were a bit nicer.

I had to edit to make sure I was clear. I initially called this location being the closest to my workplace and confirmed that I could come in and workout for the day to check it out. I didn’t demand anything or expect anything for free; nor was I told about a fee. The representative confirmed and just to be sure I told him that I would be bringing my husband and brother who would also be potentially getting memberships. Once I arrived, the 2 associates at the front desk had no idea that I was coming and dismissed the situation. The manager came over and showed no care that we drove all the way over to the gym only to be told to pay 100$ (for 3 of us) to work out for the day.

Actual successful adults understand the value of time and don’t waste it for others. And maybe they need more knowledgeable people to answer the phone and not give out misinformation. But hey what can I expect from a sales hungry middle aged personal trainer.

P.S. Just look the business owner’s responses to negative reviews…says a lot. Also probably why they have over 300 reviews with most of them being negative.

I want to give them zero stars but it is not an option. If you are looking into going to a new gym, don’t be turned on by this gyms 24 hour access. This is by far the worst ran gym in the history of gyms, the employees all act like they own the place, they are rude, inattentive and if your card gets declined they’ll follow you into the bathroom to ask for a new card. It’s not worth the 24 hour access, planet fitness is better than this dump and the response below is my point exactly. People should have this gym shut down for fraud to be honest.

Started this gym a few months ago and it was fine until I signed up for training. The gym itself is fine…. It’s nothing special, they don’t have a ton of equipment, but since they’re 24 hours and there’s not much else around, it is what it is. The trainer I signed up for and have built a program and have gotten comfortable with is no longer working here, when I tried to see if it was possible to cancel training I was told ‘too bad you just have to wait the 60 days you were told that’. First of all, no I wasn’t, second of all I signed up with a specific trainer and didn’t want to start with someone else. I had already put in my cancelation notice for my membership as I’m moving, and during my sign up, that 60
Days cancellation WAS brought up to me so I was aware of that, and even though I think it’s a gross way too squeeze out an extra 80 bucks out of someone, I knew about that policy. This is basically a money grab which is a shame because that’s exactly how you turn off members who are now never going to say a positive thing about your gym. The manager wasn’t helpful, didn’t understand what I was trying to say at all, and I’ll never come back here or recommend them to anyone. Edit: after reading some more reviews, and the owners responses I see plenty of people have encountered this same problem, and that sucks.

AS A SIDE NOTE: THEY WILL CHARGE YOU EIGHT MONTHS WORTH OF DUES TO ‘CANCEL’ YOUR MEMBERSHIP. THIS PLACE IS AN ABSOLUTE SCAM… go elsewhere

Gym itself is mediocre, staff is absolutely horrible. Incredibly incompetent employees, especially the "higher ups".

I left my review initially blank because I genuinely don't see this leading to any positive change for the gym since this policy helps push their bottom line and the apparent owner is combative to criticism, but here it is: Urge's cancellation policy, which I personally had no trouble using and for which I fully understood the terms, is seemingly designed to extort money from people who are no longer using the gym. Nothing else about this gym matters in my eyes. Urge provides a contract which plainly states that its customers will continue owing money after they have requested to cancel and I firmly disagree with that practice. They're well within their right to do that and it's perfectly legal, but the practice falls into an ethics gray area and it's up to the consumer to decide if that's something they're willing to accept. But as is the case for my review, the hundreds of other 1-star reviews, their 2-star Yelp average, their 39 complaints filed with the Better Business Bureau, and their B rating and lack of accreditation with the BBB, it will not earn them any praise after folks like me have moved on and we are well within our own right to disagree and warn away potential clients with honest reviews such as these. If you really want my insight: Listen to your most common complaint and improve the cancellation policy, and along the way learn to accept criticism as an opportunity to improve your business and not a chance to hurl caps-lock filled tirades of grade school insults at former clients who were unhappy with it. But I really don't see either of those improvements happening, and I expect more of the same in response here.

Unethical business practices. Good luck trying to cancel. I pay extra for a no-commiment membership and still cant cancel. All the reviews I can find on different sites have this place rated poorly and Im sure thats why. Otherwise its an ok gym. Good equipment, pretty expensive for what you get but the area doesnt have a lot of options and Im sure they depend on that as a business model.

This place will take your money the first chance they get; they use extremely vague language when detailing their “payment plans”. Cancelling is close to impossible and had a horrible experience overall.

Great gym - been going here for a few months & really enjoy it. Wish there was a little more mirror room for free weights / benches as it gets crowded but other than that the place is great & staff is friendly.

I joined urge a while ago but my schedule got busy and I never really found the time to go to the gym, I went to the gym once and actually got RHABDO from working out here after taking 3-4yrs off working out. I also found a new job and am moving. So I went in to cancel my membership I was met with three young ladies at the desk NONE of which were trained to cancel a membership? They said I would have to wait for a trainer “Anthony” to finish talking to a client. After 5-10min he came to me and told me he would not have the time to help me cancel my membership for an hour or more and that I need to go to the post office and send them a certified letter? I said I would not do that and asked if there was a better time or day to come back or if another trainer could help me. He said he didn’t know and showed no willingness to help me figure out a day/time which I could come back and take care of it.

I literally have been in fitness my entire life, I’ve been to Lifetime fitness, golds gym, 24-hr fitness, even planet fitness. But this is the first gym I’ve joined where this kind of thing has happened. I used to coach CrossFit I used to train other people at my gym and never would I be as dismissive or as unwilling to work with a paying customer to help them with any need which they may need.

Be carful joining this gym the fact that they make it hard to cancel is a red flag that either they use underhanded methods to squeeze dollars from paying customers or that there is a theme of seeing customers as numbers and not people.

You guys need to train ALL employees to be able to do something as simple as canceling a membership. It should not be a hard task that gets put on the bottom of the priority list. People have busy lives, I work full time, go to school part time, have a small child in school and caretake his disabled mother as well as being a homeowner I barely have time to breath so I thought going to the gym and canceling would be simple but now my time is wasted and I’m upset because of the way I was treated and talked to.

This is not the way to keep customers even if they want to cancel membership. I might of re-joined in the future but after this experience I will definitely not be re-joining once I cancel.
