This is the best gym and boxing gym I’ve ever been to period. Full workout equipment on the bottom floor and second floor more equipment with a lot of good boxing bags.

I enjoyed the gym! It has a good amount of equipment so I never had to wait too long, friendly staff, and reasonable pricing. The machines are all a bit old but nothing that particularly bothered me. If I moved back to town I would definitely rejoin!

would never recommend this gym to anyone! Everything is absolutely terrible. The machines are old, half of them are always broken, and nobody cares to fix them. The place is dirty, dusty, and smells bad — it looks like they rarely clean. The staff is rude and completely unhelpful, they don’t care about members at all. The locker rooms are disgusting, showers barely work and often there’s no hot water. The gym is always overcrowded, you have to wait forever just to use a machine. The membership isn’t cheap, but the service is below zero. A complete disappointment!

My girlfriend and I wanted to try this gym because there is not many gyms in our area. It’s 15 dollars for a day pass which isn’t terrible but I know it was 10 bucks only a short while ago so prices were recently raised. We wanted to like this gym because the space is huge & not many gyms in our area. Membership for a month is 70 dollars + tax which also isn’t terrible especially for Jersey City.
Unfortunately we couldn’t even make it through our workout because of the smell of dust and mold in the gym. The cherry on top was my girlfriend was using a machine upstairs and when I went to add weight there was visible mold on the machine. This was easily one of the most disgusting gym experiences I’ve ever had.

I’ve been coming here on and off for about 10 years and there hasn’t been any noticeable renovations or, most importantly, maintenance done on there machines. I use mostly the third floor studio/ free weights which get the job done, but I can’t justify the monthly membership. Plus they’ve raised it since I was last a member.
The mats are ripped and torn, the two stationary bikes have been broken and sitting there unfixed for at least a year or more, and one stair machine is almost always out of order when I pop in.
It’s good for day visits or just straight boxing/boot camp classes (maybe?). Location is perfect and it’s a spacious place which is nice. Hoping for some replacement machines and some better maintenance.

Some equipment are outdated and some people really don’t return their weights where they got it. I have some complaints but honestly I’ve been in this gym for about 2 years now and for some reason I’ve felt very comfortable here already. I tried to look for other gyms but I just keep ending up not switching. I know there are bad reviews but the reality is that not all gyms can be perfect, however I feel like world boxing gym is enough. The truth is you go in there and you WORKOUT and go home. You’re the problem if you’re complaining too much (that’s how I feel). Even if there are some negatives, I still get the workout in and that’s up to me to get it in u know? Not how “perfect” and “updated” the equipment is. I finish my gym session completely fulfilled because I did the work. That’s it and that’s all that matters. The large parking lot is a big plus especially in Jersey city 👍🏻

Very rude behavior their front desk female staff they don’t explain the rules clearly and they behave very rude and racist , they treat guests by their skin color , I think world boxing gym need to train their staff to be more respectful with their guests not boss them around .

This place is really solid. Not too busy, has a parking lot, no pressure memberships that can go month to month and even some lockers and coat racks right up front if you just need to come in for a quick workout. Some of the equipment really needs upgraded but it works for what I need.

Everything you would want in a gym. Seriously. Gym has boxing and yoga studio on the top floor. Sure it’s not the most update equiptment but it has a parking lot, a great location, a huge park next to it and affordable prices!! See a lot of people complaining tbh for $60 a month it’s a steal for a more private gym. Get your workout and go home

World Boxing Gym has been a true disappointment. Not only does boxing barely take place at this gym, but equipment is outdated and they have ridiculous rules in place. The workout environment here is really bad and the management is poor as well. Several of the front desk employees are very rude too. My husband and I have had a membership here for over a year and when we decided to cancel it recently, I called the gym asking how to go about cancelling my membership. The employee I spoke with told me I didn't have to do anything besides tell him, which I did. He assured me I would not get charged for any future payments. Well, he was wrong. We were charged for 2 more monthly payments so we called the gym back and were told we were supposed to notify management in writing that we wanted to cancel our memberships - something the first employee we spoke with never shared with us. Now, they refuse to give us our money back for the last 2 months. They are grimy just like their outdated, nasty equipment and environment. The only good things are Tom at the front desk plus Patrick and Justin as trainers. Unfortunately, as a whole I cannot recommend World Boxing Gym to others.

30-40% of equipment is broken, another part is rusty and outdated. People don't take off weights after using and nobody's care. Every time you want to work on you legs, you'll first spend time to take off 200+ lbs weights.
Woman on reception is rude and impolite.

The gym is in a pretty convenient location for people around the area to access. With 3 floors and an outdoor area to do some crossfit or cross training, it does fits the needs to get a basic workout.
The facility and equipment does need some serious updating.
A lot of the equipment is very old, rusty, and has seen some decent usage. Cleaning can be better than the little spray bottles and paper towels. The carpets and mats are probably from the early 2000's if not the 90's. The layout is awkward as some of the equipment is to close to move around or adjust the weights properly.

Lot of equipments are really old and rusted. Some elliptical machines are not at all good. No one cleans the machines they are always dirty with so much dust and dirt sticking on them. All the mirrors in the gym are broken and have huge tapes stuck on them. The top floor where there is place for mat workout is always dark and has no ac. All the yoga mats are very dirty.

Would be a better gym if they FIXED THE EQUIPMENT (Cables on 1st and 2nd floors all suck), missing hooks for the weighted-machines; tightened the ends of the barbells so they don’t feel as if they’re moving on their own!
People are nice though, good vibes all around.

Great place, lot of equipments, yet enough free space to move around(unless you are in the busiest hour when most people converge and you run into people). Spread across three floors, never have to wait for another person to finish workout on a machine.

The best one around the area.
Pros: month to month membership
Cons: gets very crowded for the space. Some machines are outdated or they do not have them. Also, they need more squat racks and a proper hip abduction machine. As any other average gym, some machines are too big for women.
I will keep going here tho. It is the best one around for the price. Gets the job done.

Today I was GREETED by the OWNER accusing me of leaving a bad review. I was signing in and he swore he had evidence that I used a fake name/photo and left a bad review. I was caught very off guard as he came at me in a very aggressive manner. I answered him and told him I did not leave a bad review (because I did not) and made it very clear he was in the wrong. He then realized he was attacking the wrong person (he should not be attacking any CUSTOMER who left a bad review, he should be asking why and how he/the gym can improve). I asked him to show me the review, as I have never left a review online in my life (besides right now) and he responded “I do not need to explain or show you anything.” Horrible, horrible, horrible ownership (the rest of the staff is great). Attacking a customer is never the answer in any situation, let alone being completely wrong about the situation and never apologizing. I feel bad for the staff who has to work under an owner who cannot take ownership. Outside of that great equipment and the rest of the staff is lovely.

Happy to have finally found a gym in JC that you can count on opening up at 5:30AM. No frills kind of gym but it has everything you need. If there was one thing I can give constructive criticism to, it’d be when using either 1st level staircases to go to the 2nd floor at one point it has this old sweat mildew type of smell. It’s not like it’s not tolerable but if there was a way to work it out that’d be cool. Other then that I think this is a pretty solid gym to my standard. 👍🏽

Great gym, only leaving because I'm moving out of Jersey City. The staff are extremely friendly and you can always ask someone for a spot (good vibes).
The only suggestion I'd make is to change the music. It's always this dance/edm stuff that isn't really motivating. Occasionally the person behind the desk throws on some hard rock (ie GNR, ACDC, Rage Against The Machine) and I get really pumped up...my opinion of course.

Overall, very happy with the gym.
Pros:
Month-to-month memberships.
Local parking lot!!
Towels.
A LOT of equipment that dudes often want (benching, squat racks, deadlift stations).
Punching bags
Open access yoga studio (as long as there isn't a class)
That sled pushing thingy (1st time I see a gym have one of those)
They sell wraps
Cons:
None so far. I've been coming here now for over 3 months and I haven't had any negative experiences.

I like it here. It's pretty no frills, low-key... but that doesn't mean it's outdated. Okay, so some of the machines look old, but everything is usually functioning!
There are 3 floors: 1) mostly cardio machines and some weight machines and free weights; 2) more weight machines (that I can't figure out how to use and am too embarrassed to ask) and free weights, about 7(?) punching bags and a boxing ring (I think only allowed if you pay for the special boxing classes); 3) a small studio for yoga classes, which also has a few free weights and mats and 2 spin bikes.
Overall, lots of things you can do. Best of all, it's never thattt busy! Plus, a free parking lot? In Jersey City?? 8D
The amenities aren't anything fancy, but free towels and a locker room (with a scale) are really all you need.
Relatively cheap for Jersey City (even though it's kinda in a far corner on Division St) and good hours and friendly staff and you have me sold.
Minus one star only because the first floor is always so fricking hot!!

The gym is pricey but I got partially reimbursed through my health insurance which made it worth it and the reason I joined at that price point.
The gym has a lot of equipment on both floors. Good amount of free weights and cardio equipment. The other perk is the boxing ring and bags, which some gyms charge you extra for this. Definitely a plus if you'd like to add a different type of cardio to your routine.
I've only been during morning and afternoon hours and some Sundays as with any gym those seem to be the best times.
Definitely recommend this gym if $$ isn't an issue
