I have been practicing at YITH many times a week for about 7 months. There are so many good things to say about this place: a diverse offering of classes for all levels and varying interests; exceptional teachers who bring incredible spirit to their instruction; a beautiful and well-maintained space that makes arriving to class an inviting experience. The location is great; very convenient, easy access by bus or foot, and parking is ALWAYS a snap if you drive - there is typically plenty of available street parking, and also a huge public lot directly across the street on Central Avenue. This means that if you drive, you never have to worry about being late because you can’t find parking. Also, don’t be late! This place understands that folks who arrive after class starts pose a disruption, and they are pretty strict about being on time. As a practitioner (as well as a teacher in my regular life) I appreciate this enormously and I suspect most other folks do as well. Yoga in the Heights has a strong community feel, and there’s something special about practicing with the hum of Central Avenue in the background; personally, I think another reviewer’s complaints about this are unfortunate and don’t resonate with me at all - in fact, the opposite. I rather enjoy practicing and looking inward for stillness, *especially* as the world around me hums and churns. Plus, city life! The administrative staff are all very attentive to clients and all the studio rules and policies are made very clear. Having lived in the Heights for over 10 years, and in Jersey City for over 15, I can tell you that YITH is a true asset to the community and does a great service to many of its residents by being there for us. The proof is in the pudding, as there are *many* packed classes, and *many* regulars who wouldn’t continue to show up otherwise. I would give six stars if I could.

I've been coming to this studio for 6 months now. I like the instructors but the studio itself is fairly new and location is quite poor. Since they are new, their class schedule is limited and the hot classes are at infrequent and inconvenient times. There is only one hot room which is fairly small with no windows. The nicer classroom although beautiful is susceptible to all types of noise from the main street which gets very distracting especially when you are trying to focus on your practice. The lady who works the desk most of the time, Anne Marie, has a snappy attitude when it comes to dealing with guests. There are a lot of inconsistencies with signing in as well. I've been in a class where people have walked in over five minutes late but one day I walked in 3 minutes late to class and she flat out turns me away. I understand they advise to come 15 minutes before class but life happens and the parallel parking situation in their location is horrid. I even took an uber to cut down on parking time and because it was 20 degrees outside but the Director of Client Experience has no sympathy whatsoever. Terrible experience. You are better off practicing at home if you live more than a 10 min walk from here in order to avoid dealing with her.

I finally got into Mallory’s class and it was well worth the wait. Clean rooms and great guidance through a challenging set of poses. Well needed after a long day- I think I’ll sleep well tonight.

This place is absolutely LIFE CHANGING! Yoga itself is life changing, however the staff, instrutors, auroa, the space, and the individuals who practice here are all top notch. Here is my little extra * (star), so that I can give "Yoga in the HEIGHTS" a 6 star review!!

My wife and I have been members of this studio for 2 years. They have a wide range of classes from absolute beginner yoga, to intense workouts; they have vinyasa classes, heated classes, restorative and many more. I go for flexibility and cross-training, my wife for the bulk of her fitness routine and we're both very happy with all of the different classes we've taken. The studio provides all props for classes and free tea. There are face towels and mat storage for members. Everything is clean and in very good condition. The service is exceptional, the staff knows us by name.
