They got rid of the rock wall. It was the only reason I went. Now they look like an "influencer" gym. They even have a picture taking room. They got rid of the good aquatic massage beds and moving the less efficient, new massage beds into the middle of the hallway where everyone walks by you and can see you. Not very relaxing and the machines are way less effective than the amazing ones they got rid of. So if you're a stereotypical influencer that cares about looks more than having fun ways to workout, this is the gym for you.

Great local gym. It is under new management. I've been a member for 15 years. There is a lot of equipment and options for an excellent workout. UPDATE Under the new management everything has improved. Very little equipment down time. Cleanliness has gotten much better, and more new equipment has arrived.

The new owners are not at all money hungry, they keep adding value to this gym. Then when you think they can’t do more, they do more. It is well on its way to being the ultimate gym experience and it is easily already the best gym in las cruces. You can tell that they more than just bought a gym, they love it. Thank you for choosing to buy this gym and improving it beyond anything I would have ever expected! Highly recommend, unless you don’t really like gyms. Then please save us the space :)

Absolute trash establishment. Staff is comprised of immature children who lack any sort of management skills. The community is lack-luster, eg. full of bros who never smile, and girls who try and wear as little as possible while exercising. Locker rooms smell like raw sewage all the time, staff does not know how to enforce rules or clean. Amenities constantly broken and left un-repaired. Poor lighting. General feeling of not being safe or welcome in this space. Do better, you’re embarrassing.

It is a very professional fitness center. I requested some info thru messenger and had a fast and very detailed oriented answer. They have group classes, spinning class, a pool available for lap swimmers ( when there in no class in the pool). It is huge and modern. The locker rooms are immaculate. Sauna and steam room. You can purchase a day pass and it is available for 24hours.
Easy parking too.

I have a membership here that I pay for and for some reason the card wasn’t working. As I was trying to get in one of the employees that was off the clock didn’t let me in because my card wasn’t scanning. This is the third card I go through and the same issue happens. Do not go here unless you want to spend $60 a month and not even be allowed to enter.

** UPDATE 11-7-24 joined the City regional aquatic center. New place, huge windows, hoist machines. A BUCK A VISIT FOR SENIORS. Nice everything. Bathroom pool rocks, too! A bit of a drive from home, but who cares. Best kept secret, that’s for sure!
(310 fitness)
While I loved the pool and the new cold plunges, frankly I never used them. So when 310Ftness took over ~ they seem not nearly as friendly as the old owners and are only posting “Can & Can’t Do” rules of the gym along with class times.
I went to PLANET FITNESS yesterday, enrolled in the silver sneakers membership and it ends up costing $10.81 Per month. That is for the full use of the gem and is normally a $25 a month fee. I’ll take it. No pool or cold piunge but WTH. Changing my rating to two stars on 310 fitness just because of all the faintly nasty posts about rules. No frills.
Here’s the deal. The old owners were wonderful couple but clearly burnt out and needed to get out from under the business at Fitness One. The McNeil‘s bought Fitness One and immediately started making some very positive changes, including really cleaning the gym. The men’s locker room was often just gross & actually had a bad smell because of mildew from the sauna and steam room. (The HVAC system in this gym has always been a problem, at least in the men’s locker room} * When the McNeals took over, they said they wouldn’t make any pricing changes. After running the business for a short time they realized (and this is my own assessment) that they could not continue the Silver Sneakers bargain monthly rate. I met Cody and Jackie and liked them immediately. Sometimes, a business owner is forced by cash flow realities to make changes. I am a Silver member. The biggest advantages of this gym are: proximity to my home and variety of machines. The difference between the old monthly rate and the new is about 27 bucks per month. It is never a good thing to go back on your word as a business owner, and, clearly the McNeil’s needed to make a change and feel that the potential loss of at least some silver sneakers is absorbable. Now I have the positive project of checking out some other gyms close by and seeing if the value of 310 Fitness is still there at $35 bucks a month. Cody and Jackie are sharp, they have obviously researched the average cost of a “full service” gym in Las Cruces. Don’t neglect to include the swimming pool, and cold plunge pools, also available here)
BTW, I’ve never had a problem with any of the employees at Fitness One. The new owners are very quick to respond and want to keep past members. I can say with confidence that this facility is a good deal, including the change. The McNeils are not running a socially responsible business enterprise, and made the tough decision to raise their rates.

I am impressed with the transformation of the gym since it came under new ownership! The staff is now extremely welcoming, which makes a big difference compared to before. The manager was very kind and helpful, making the whole experience feel more personal.
The facility has undergone some impressive renovations and is much cleaner than before, with a noticeable upgrade in amenities. Everything feels fresh and well-maintained, and I’m excited to be part of this new and improved gym!

I am a former member of Fitness 1 and a new member at 310 Fitness. In the the beginning of 2023 I decided to cancel my membership at Fitness 1 due to a multitude of reasons. To name a few one being personal, I moved to a new apt complex and the prices were exclusive and I had to adjust my finances.
With that being said however canceling my membership was something I already had in mind prior to moving. The gym was in bad shape and It was not well taken care of. How many of you remember the constant walk around the buckets of water leading into the men's bathroom? (more on the current state of the bathrooms soon..) What about the equipment that was always out of order? and the staff that well you already know that. So, for this and a few other reasons many of you have already stated I ended up cancelling my membership at Fitness 1. And let me tell you. Once I was gone, it felt like a weight had been lifted off my shoulders. I felt free. I started working out at my APT complex which had a 24/7 gym and at my job which also has a 24/7 gym. It was nice for a while until.. I started to get that feeling again. The feeling of missing "home". That gym was my home away from home for nearly 7 years prior to cancelling. I'd go back every now and then and pay for a 24hr pass and just see how things were. Nothing changed much tell you he truth.
Not until 310 came around.
I say all that to say this. I recently went back to the old Fitness 1 which is now 310 Fitness and decided it was time to come "home". I saw online somewhere that it was under new ownership and I heard about the changes the new owners were making and I decided i needed to check it out. So I paid for a 24hr pass and really thought about what it would be like to comeback after being away for more than a year and a half. And tell you the truth from my perspective the gym has a different vibe to it. It just feels good. The staff is great and they are eager to help and do their part to accommodate members. The new equipment speaks for itself with the addition of the cold plunge which I think was a smart move. I've only been back less than a week but I look forward to going to the gym everyday and doing what I love to do and that's fitness. None the less they're some downsides to the gym not everything is perfect. Not gonna lie it feels a little crowded. There's a lot going on in the weight room especially where the dumbbells are located. Over in the "active zone/green zone" it looks like somebody's garage. There's just a bunch of random stuff in one place like they don't know what to do with it and it's just taking up space. And lastly going back to the men's bathroom they still stink and it needs to be properly deep cleaned. I'm talking about each individual locker top and bottom. I got out the cold plunge yesterday and tossed my shirt on top of the locker and when I pulled it down a bunch of lint and dust came down with it, as if had never been cleaned before. I think the new owners can do better and I am sure they will do better. It has only gotten better. Overall I am glad to be back and I would recommend this gym to anybody wanting to seriously commit to fitness and health. By far the best gym in town. - Osollo

❇️❇️❇️UPDATE: August 8, 2024.
Been hearing from many friends how awful the management is treating the seniors who used the Silver Sneakers program. This group is absolutely NOT a community business. They do not value customers or their needs.
🔥🔥🔥UPDATE: July 26, 2024.
Your rudeness and insensitivity is mind blowing. My review is based on my friends who can no longer use your facility.
True, I personally have not been to your facility in 2 years. That is because 2 years ago I was quite unwell where I was given a year to live and qualified for Hospice. I am homebound l, on 24/7 oxygen and a Walker. So ridiculing me does not solve the issue. I’ve sent you 4 emails to clarify my position. Attacking me personally is not a smart thing to do, especially when I’m voicing my opinion for the community.
Instead, if you truly cared, you would have listened and heard what the thoughts and feelings of the people in the community want you to express to you. I have not been rude, just factual. So what did you do? You decided to sit in the gutter by taking it to a personal level and attack me personally
Actually, now I’m delighted my friends will no longer be using your facility. I feel better knowing they will never be subjected to your ridicule as well.
——————————-
Cody & Jackie McNiel, owners Fitness One
The treatment of our seniors by organizations like Fitness One is nothing short of a tragedy unfolding before our eyes. As a 78-year-old disabled widow who depended on Silver Sneakers, I'm not just disappointed - I'm devastated. It's absolutely heartbreaking to witness how the almighty dollar has become the primary concern in caring for our nation's elders.
I recently spoke with 22 local seniors who frequent your Las Cruces facility, all of whom rely on insurance-covered Silver Sneakers programs. By rejecting Silver Sneakers, you're not just inconveniencing these individuals - you're actively jeopardizing their health and well-being. The exercise they receive at your facility isn't a luxury; it's a lifeline.
If profit is your sole motivation, then you've betrayed the sacred trust placed in you to serve our senior community. You receive compensation each time a senior visits - so I implore you to consider: what truly is the cost of allowing a senior to participate in a daily class? Your overhead remains constant, with or without our presence. The marginal cost of our participation is negligible, yet the benefit to our health is immeasurable.
If your organization values seniors only for their impact on the "bottom line," then you have no business claiming to be in the health improvement sector. Our group of 22 seniors, who currently use your facility, implores others to seek out places where we're genuinely appreciated, rather than being seen as just another opportunity to siphon away our hard-earned social security funds.
This isn't just about business - it's about the dignity and health of an entire generation. The choices you make today will echo through the lives of countless seniors, their families, and our community as a whole. We urge you to reconsider your stance and remember the true purpose of your organization: to foster health and well-being for all, regardless of age or economic status.

To be honest, I started going here around March and enjoyed the 24/7 availability, as well as the equipment. But, in these hot summer months - I CANNOT. It REEKS inside the weightlifting area. There is ZERO air circulation. Literally - what? I used to go to other gyms that were older and outdated and it never REEKED. I can literally taste the BO in the air. UNACCEPTABLE. Who decided not to have fans and windows that could open??? I cannot fathom how some people can lift in these conditions. I can barely lift three exercises before having to leave because of how nauseating it is inside. My first 6 months are up in September and I intend to take my money else where. Do better please. For 50 dollars a month I should not taste other people's perspiration. It seriously is so disgusting.

I’m not enjoying the new management so far, many of the new implemented rules are redundant. While I appreciate the attention to cleanliness and the added cold plunges. Why would the sauna only be open during work hours at a 24 hour gym? Makes no sense, some of us have to fit our gym time into the night hours. I’m not sure what their plan is but I’ll see how things go the next few months.

Would not recommend. The new management is terrible. I inquired at the front desk about the the Silver Sneakers program, and the front desk said it's too much paperwork and they are going to buy new equipment, which really isn't needed. I tried to cancel my parents membership, and they won’t even cancel your membership there. They said you have to go on to their website (which they don't have) to get there email to cancel. They also only gave a 10 day notice. They have no problem posting on social media, but they do not have a professional website. They have not made canceling easy, so I will be canceling my entire family. I spent 45 minutes looking for a contact email that was not rejected. Every email I found was a: do not reply. I finally found one and sent an email to cancel my membership, my husband's membership, our kids and my parents, and I have not heard back. I called the front desk, and once again was told they couldn't help me. The past ownership was amazing. I go every week. This new management is terrible, which is disappointing since the gym is nice. We love the pool and sauna, as well as the free weights.
There are plenty of other gyms with Silver Sneakers for my mother and a better management system. I plan on going elsewhere once I receive confirmation of cancelation.
*Update response: This is my maiden name, so no, it will not show.
*Also your reply was "I don't need to cancel because Silver Sneakers is cancelled." I am canceling my entire membership, so yes, I do need to cancel.

I am a senior citizen who has been a member of this gym for numerous years, I fell and broke my hip 2 years ago and I have to walk with a cane! I use the pool for exercise and therapeutic help but walking from the men's room to the pool area is a stressful experience because of the total lack of safety mats to prevent falls! They once had this rectified when I recommended to them about these hazards but lately it has become a definite slip and fall hazard again! I Warn All Seniors To To Be Very Cautious in the Shower, Steam and Sauna Area and Pool Area because they are definitely a big slip and fall area for us! Maybe One Day They Will Really Show Their Concern For Their Customers and Do Something About These Hazards!!

Fitness one has been my gym for years now, its a second home for me. It is sad to say its gone downhill quite a bit, especially after covid for some reason. As the members grow the more messy and dirty the gym has gotten. There are several dumbbells missing and not put back property. Trash on the floors. Equipment dirty. All while i see most of the staff just sitting up front talking and on their phones. Maybe proper training of employees and members is needed. Gym etiquette is super important and it not getting done. We as members pay alot and this area is only continuing to grow. Please make it better again!

Can't play basketball if your ball hits the exit door. In a basketball gym, with basketballs bound to hit the rim and bounce into the exit door. Therefore the gym gets closed for a door being hit by a ball on accident. And it wasn't even me.I drive all the way out here, rarely having times I feel good with disability, and denied to the services I pay for. Ah, yes, my dear readers, here we go again with round two of my adventures at Fitness One. You might remember my first escapade, where I graciously pointed out the sauna's cleanliness issue. Well, let me regale you with the thrilling sequel. After my first review, I received a call from someone who I assume moonlights as the owner. She assured me that a cleaning crew would promptly rectify the sauna situation. Oh, how naive I was to believe in fairy tales.
Fast forward a few weeks, and lo and behold, the penny I strategically placed under the mat 3 weeks ago as a cleanliness test was still there, mocking me in its stagnant state. I took matters into my own hands, or rather, I lifted the mat, and what did I find? A sight so grotesque it would make even the hardiest of souls recoil in horror. Black grime and what I can only assume was a moldy manifestation greeted me, proving that their idea of "cleaning" must be a mystical concept lost in translation. Now, my fellow fitness enthusiasts, if you're considering Fitness One as your home away from home, allow me to offer some sage advice: pack your hazmat suits and N95 masks. Trust me; you'll need them to fend off the impending bacterial invasion and to filter out the delightful mold particles that will undoubtedly grace your presence.
In conclusion, if you have a penchant for adventure and a love for microbial ecosystems, Fitness One might just be the place for you. Just don't forget your PPE; you'll thank me later. And to think, if I were the illustrious owner of this establishment, you can bet your last dumbbell that I'd be personally shadowing those supposed cleaners to ensure they're not just engaging in a leisurely stroll around the gym. After all, if you're going to pay someone to do a job, you might as well make sure it's done right. But hey, what do I know? I'm just a humble patron trying to avoid a bacterial apocalypse.

My experience at this gym has been great, overall. My experience is based on morning visits several times a week for over two months. I lift heavy, following a high intensity low-rep, high weight protocol. There are ample plate machines and free weights here to support my current goals and future progress. The Atlantis ISO machines are in great condition and can be loaded very heavily. There aren't a lot of powerlifters / bodybuilders at the gym so there usually isn't much of a wait to get the equipment. There are always sanitizing wipes available and there are several water dispensers throughout the gym.
This is just my experience, it may vary for you at different times or if you have different goals.
Pros: high quality machines, well maintained, cable and plate machines, tons of cardio, lots of space, friendly atmosphere, helpful staff, easy parking, moderately clean workout areas, 24/7 access, pool and saunas. Tons of classes and what seems like a vibrant fitness community for senior members.
Cons: the hot tub is frequently out of order, men's locker room etiquette can be very cringe (not unique to this gym). Gentlemen, please put your 🏀🏀 away and keep your bare 🍑 off the surfaces.
All in all, I give this gym five stars. I've been to dozens of gyms, this is one of the best. I was at Crunch before this and this is an upgrade. Worth the price difference, in my opinion.

The customer service experience was poor enough to re-evaluate my membership. I went in today for a one-time tanning service that I only use every so often, so I don’t have tanning built into my membership payments.
The short haired woman at the front projected an awful attitude towards me because they were busy. She was intensively unfriendly and demanded to have me work out first and then re-approach the front because all staff was hands-on and the computers were held up. I was in no hurry , and I told her I wasn’t there to work out. I was there to use the tanning bed only, and still needed their assistance to start the tanning bed and to make them aware I’d be paying for the one time use (my credit card on file changed due to fraud alerts from elsewhere so I had to update my credit card for my gym membership anyways). That being said, the lady at least started the tanning bed for me so I’d bug off until I was done. I still needed to pay and have my card on file swapped out, because I’m just trying to be a good person and pay what I owe them and ensure that my payments will continue to go through.
While I understand that I came at a busy time (it’s always a zoo), her immediate unwillingness to assist me without hearing what I was in for today was notable for future considerations when I was a patient customer willing to wait to be helped, that clearly required front desk assistance and involved payment.
This woman seemed so wired and strung out, projecting her stress onto me through raising her voice. I expressed no issues at the idea of waiting for her to help me but she sent me directly to the tanning bed with her nasty attitude.
It wasn’t any less busy after a few minutes spent in the tanning bed, dreading further interaction with these people. I ended up getting assisted by another gal at the front but she had a terrible attitude when it was time to pay. Why? Why act like your paying, loyal customers are inconveniencing you all? I was in no hurry, had a pleasant and calm demeanor, and went along with your poor customer service.
I am most certainly contemplating an end to my membership and loyalty to Fitness One, given the poor treatment and unprofessional attitudes here.

Nice gym, offered a free three day trial pass at the time of visit. They'll contact you by email, text, and call to get ahold of you if you sign up online for it. They'll keep your ID while you work out. Classes while visiting were very full. Large weight and cardio areas with a large assortment of equipment. The gym was clean and the other patrons were mostly polite and happy to help if there were any issues adjusting things on unfamiliar machines. They also have a smoothie bar with plant based protein available (in addition to not).

Gym too expensive not worth the price. Once your contract expires they increase your price and continue to do it with no warning. My membership was at $113.43 in May, then it went to $129.66 and went up to $140.48 in July of 2023. The manager could not give me a clear explanation. All she did was got offended, and did not know how to handle an upset customer complaint. The staff like to talk to each other alot so expect to wait when your at the front desk. Their conversation is more important then the customer waiting to be helped. Sometimes there is no one at the front desk to assist at all. Also, some machines are broken or dont work properly. The pool and baskeball court have limited hours. They are not open 24 hours just the gym. The basketball court gets used non stop with the same players at time. They hog up the courts. I do not recommend this gym not worth it especially for the price they charge. I will report them to the BBB.

Pros: the childcare room, the pool, classes, the basketball court, sauna and steam rooms.
Cons: the gym is neglected. The weights have seen better days, equipment is out of order, and the gym employees do not walk through the gym at all to help keep the place organized, and clean. They congregate to chat up some regulars, and ignore the maintenance of the gym. While I believe part of the problem is the clientele not caring about the equipment, I do believe if the staff made regular walk throughs, and helped keep it organized, the issues wouldn’t be as severe. Previous employees did care about keeping the place in order; but things have really gone downhill in the last year and a half. Trying to address issues with the staff falls on deaf ears. I mentioned seeing bugs crawling in the showers, and the employee I spoke to said: “ewww,” laughed it off, and said it’s the janitorial staff’s problem.

Very clean facility with a lot of options for every type of lifter. I’ve been going to this facility since high school and I can definitely say that through the years the owners/staff used to care more about keeping the facility in check. The weights will often be out of order nowadays. Machines with holes in them/electrical issues. The front door that should lock to keep it safe doesn’t work etc. But…still would recommend the facility. Basketball court plus weights is hard to beat. They offer classes with the membership that look fun. Overall still a great gym.

Great gym in Las cruces. As a newbie to Las Cruces, I feel my safety is of the utmost priority. This gym makes me feel safe to enter, do my exercise and leave at any time of the day. In fact, it is probably the only place that has people of all-genders working out late night.
In addition to wide variety of equipment, the gym comes with a well maintained climbing wall, swimming pool, hot tub, sauna and steam rooms. And a big bonus of water massage.
Changing rooms are well maintained and clean.
Update: Since my review, I have come across multiple people using cameras in the locker room. The management has to be clear on these things. Also please people stop taking photos in the locker room especially when people are changing in the background.

This place is awesome and worth the price considering the renovations and maintenance that they do. They’re annually replacing equipment. I’ve seen some people from my work and high school there and I’ve been inspired to continue working out because of it. I’ve been going to this gym on and off since high school.
When I first signed up I got free access to the aqua massage, a free t shirt, and if I recall correctly a personal trainer. Shoutouts to the Fitness One and the staff member that gave me those things!

This place has lots of machines and equipment "out of order". It's comical how many treadmills and ellipticals are always down. Bathrooms are rarely cleaned with nats in the shower area. No way would I recommend this place to a friend, especially if you're paying over $35/month - It's probably more $ now. Employees just standing around talking...they must have repair and cleaning crews
come in and fix machines and clean the facilities once a month, if that.

This Gym seems amazing from the outside in. However after being a member for the past year you realize that things are not always as they seem. The cleanliness keeps escalating in a negative direction. The staff is always just hanging out at the front desk their focus is definitely not customer service. Possibly the focus is only in customer enrollment? There’s a leak at the entrance of the men’s locker room that has been there for months since the spring. It has gradually got worse and it doesn’t seem that they had plans to fix it. I think they’re waiting for a lawsuit of someone to slip and fall . The showers are so disgusting I’m surprised the health department has not shut them down. What amazes me that less expensive gyms take better care of their facilities and their clients. I think after one year of giving them my business has been more than enough and I’m ready to pursue a different direction. This shows that not everything that shines is gold and not everything that’s gold is worthy. Just because you have mats on the floor does not mean that you do not clean and disinfect and when there is even small fruit flies attacking you while you’re trying to shower you then realize is it worth paying what I’m being charged. It’s surprises me that more people are not speaking up and saying anything about it. The only thing that has kept me there for so long has been the pool but I’m starting to question even the cleanliness of that. There’s a lot of equipment that is not working. That is understandable as I realize that in this time to get parts to fix these machines is not easy or fast. However to not fix what you can control is very disappointing.

The schedule in the app is never published or up to date, I’ve waited about 15 months and have not been able to use the app to check the schedules. There are paper schedules hanging from the wall every where. I’m sorry but for $100 per month, everything should be on point. I can see the few other locations and they put the time and effort in to post them.
