I signed up to this gym years ago while out of town for work. I have been trying to cancel my membership many times now. Everytime I talk to an employee they say they will help me and cancel the membership yet I am still getting charged. Very deceptive. My last resort will have to be literally ordering a new card and closing that checking account

This place really needs some new management or something. I don't understand how so many people are paying the amount of money they are when everything here is trashed. Grew up in Espanola, visiting family for the holidays. Husband went to work out this morning and was turned away due to them not “working” today, even though there was a gentleman there. You just lost out on money from out of town visitors. How is this an “anytime” fitness?

I recently had a frustrating experience with Anytime Fitness Espanola due to their lack of communication. Despite reaching out many times via email and phone regarding my membership inquiries, I received no response. This unresponsiveness not only left me feeling ignored but also raised concerns about their customer service standards. As a member, timely communication is essential, and the absence of it significantly detracted from my overall experience at the gym. Has decent equipment however..... The staff are completely unavailable. You can call a thousand times and they don't answer. When you finally catch them in the gym they give you major attitude. Go to Los Alamos or Santa Fe better.

Good clean environment. I don't totally understand the bathroom door handles, but that's such a small detail, it hardly matters. Good variety of machines and exercises. Packed to the brim (like most gyms) between like 5PM-10PM on Thursdays and Fridays though. Also lots of people just go there to talk. Not a critique of the gym, just an interesting observation.

I’ve been going to Anytime Fitness in Española, NM, and honestly, the cleanliness is a serious problem. Half the time, there are no paper towels in the gym area, and when they are available, they’re just sitting out in the open, getting wet and touched by everyone. This is not only gross but a hygiene hazard.The bathrooms are no better—there's no proper hand soap, just cheap dish soap, and the dispensers don’t even work. Trash is often left lying around for days, and half the bathrooms are always locked. When they are open, they’re stained and filthy.I get that gym-goers should clean up after themselves, but it’s not my job to pick up trash left by others. The staff should be handling this, especially since we’re paying for the service. This place seriously needs better management before it becomes a health risk.

i used to love this location, it was the place that made me fall in love with the gym 5+ years ago. the “management” or “owner”, whoever was at the front desk is extremely rude for absolutely no reason. I scanned my key card and he literally spoke very loudly in my face and asked if I even have a membership here. I can’t imagine how new people who want to start going to the gym must feel when talking to him. Especially women. He would walk around talking to all the guys being friendly, and would give dirty looks toward me. it’s dirty, no toilet paper or soap in bathrooms.some of the equipment is almost broken.

This use to be a decent gym when they had previous ownership, who ever owns it now has really let it go.
1. They went from wet disinfect wipes which they never stocked to paper napkins that they never stock.
2. No soap in bathrooms as well as dirty bathrooms.
Whoever they have working here is more worried about working out than coming in to clean and stock.
They don't forget to charge you every month though.
I wished they cared more about customers satisfaction than profit.

This place is the w o r s t. There is only one gym open at all hours and this is it. Restroom are nasty and dirty, the walls here are dusty, pretty sure the machine are only wipe when a member wipes it. Doesn't smell clean. Who owns this place corp or someone local. I cancelled my membership in person at Anytime Fitness in December. My husband kept his membership. Turns out, they've been charging me for both memberships since then. When we asked about it, they said I didn't sign the paperwork and said I had to go in (again) to cancel. I signed the cancelation form and took a pic of the signed form today. They won't reimburse me for their own mistake. WTH? 🤬 So I'm documenting this wherever I can leave a review. If you sign up for a membership here, be forewarned - document everything because they have no mechanism to confirm that you've done your due diligence.

I have been a member of the AF gym for several years now. I pay my monthly dues, and I also pay for "maintenance" fees as part of my contractual agreement.

Espanola's AF boasts a strong membership, a testament to healthy minded community members who support the AF gym.
Unfortunately the gym maintains a sub-par level of maintenance for a business promoting a healthy life style.

Below are only a few items that need to be addressed at the gym. Several of these issues have been a concern for over a year now.

* The three AF restrooms are NOT cleaned with any regularity - one is closed and the other has a broken lock. The manager posted a make-shift sign telling gym members to knock before entering.
The bathrooms desperately need a paint job.(see images enclosed)
* Out of the five stationary bikes, three need maintenance with only 2 being completely operational.
* Members have resorted to bringing their own sanitizer wipes to clean the machines after use because more often than not, the wipe dispensaries are empty. (see image enclosed)
* The front door swings open because the metal arm that closes the door shut is broken.
* The drinking fountains are disgusting. (see image below)

One of the members stated to me that she will NOT use the AF bathroom because they are "disgusting" and she fears the entire gym is a petri dish of germs.

I've written AF concerning this matter and the only response I've received is a notice that additional costs toward "Maintenance" will be added to my membership. To this date, April 29th, I do not see where and how those extra costs are
distributed in the gym.

Horrible service. Went in to sign up for new membership and waited for 10 min until another customer pointed me where the “manager” was at, the whole time he was standing there with a girl laughing smoking his vape.

Working with Danna and then David has expanded my understanding of what's available, how to use the equipment and how to keep it interesting. I've really enjoyed working out at Anytime Fitness.

Very nice , very clean. I talk to someone from the staff and he was cool. Normally I don't like gyms because of the environment of everyone judging you. Dude I'm here because I want to change, no one is born with muscles. The staff make you feel welcome almost as if you were working out at your own house :D

I walked in needing a membership and was on weights in 15 min. It's affordable and has showers and open 24/7 making it a very attractive venue for workouts.

I have somewhat mixed feelings about this place. I like to get my workouts in over here when I'm up in the Española area. The staff has always been very nice to me and appreciate the functional training area they have. I love kettlebells and TRX straps, which they have plenty of. The deadlift platform is nice and the studio is wonderful to stretch in by yourself. The facilities are always clean and overall they do a great job for the space they're working with. Now my gripe. My mother is in her 70's and I had finally got her jazzed about getting her health under control. I recommend Anytime because of all the positive things I saw with this gym. She got a membership and even hired one of the personal trainers. She was doing well for about 6 weeks until she started having issues with the dues. From what I understand, she wanted to pay for a year up front but for some reason she was convinced or maybe it was a policy (I'm not 100% certain of everything that transpired to be fair to Anytime) to allow them to do monthly drafts from her account. Long story short, things kind of fell apart from there. It came to the point where my mom started receiving calls from a collection agency. This makes me sad because this is the closest gym to my mom and it's a great gym. And she would always look forward to going for her workouts. If it wasn't for this issue I'd give this place 5 stars. Hopefully something can be worked out. But who knows.

I am a couple weeks in & absolutely love this gym. It is very clean with cleaning/ disinfecting wipe stations throughout along with personnel cleaning and wiping down equipment throughout the day. Friendly and helpful employees & adequate cardio equipment. Due to the COVID-19 risks, they have in place, signs blocking off some machines and equipment to enforce the social distancing requirements of keeping people 6ft apart. So far so good!

A very special thank you to the awesome trainers... Desiree, David, and Heather. You three are the best! Thank you for the continuous encouragement, great workouts, and for pushing me to test my limits. I truly could not have done it without you. My goal was to lose 4% body fat, and I actually lost 6%! I feel amazing and energized. Did I mention the trainers are awesome?!? The Challenge was the perfect way for me to get serious about getting in shape for a healthier life. I went into inspect the facility during normal business hours to see if I wanted to join. They didn't answer the phones, didn't open the doors, wouldn't even have a moment for me to decide if I wanted to join the gym .The disappointment in this gym is astounding and it's made me realize that it's better to have my own equipment rather than waste my time here. Was so glad to know there was an AF so close to my hotel. In the area for wrk and came to gym but forgot my key fob in computer bag. Thankfully staff was still onsite. The vibe here is so energetic and positive! Group session music was playing and didn’t need my headset really. Great facility!!
