This gym is solid with everything you need. Some of yall need to understand how an infrared sauna works before complaining. Some of these complaints are straight up lying. The music is not too loud at all. The recovery room is outstanding and its never as crowded as Winrock. This location is amazing with great staff!

I feel as if this is Chuze's best kept secret. The gym is rarely crowded, spacious locker rooms, and the best staff out of the four Albuquerque locations by far. Frank, Evan, and Logan treat you like family, all the staff here are super positive and encouraging, not to mention Evan saved my life while he was off the clock when I couldn't do the last rep on the decline bench lol

Super friendly customer service especially Kevin! I use lot of their recovery equipment and it’s fantastic for my tennis recovery especially the boots , massage chair ( I recommend the recovery setting or a deep soothe for good stretching relax recovery ) and hyperice.. starting to use the sauna room as well these days .. I have been able to keep up with my tennis and recovery with Chuze gym and recovery. This location especially has the most friendliest staff and have always been super kind with great suggestions for workouts stretches etc. it’s easily worth the price tag for premium membership. Highly highly recommend!

I was experiencing extreme back and shoulder arthritic pain and discussed this with Chuze Managers, Liam and Kevin. And they introduced me to the zero gravity massage chair to help with the pain. I feel so much better and my quality of life has significantly improved. Thanks to you both for caring about your members. 😘

I like the gym, and could care less about the music, I am not here to jam out. My grip is the cold air. I have requested before to put the air on low and when they did one time, felt better. It always too cold/breezy, especially around the bench/dumbell area. Cant sweat and the cold air is uncomfortable. For staff sure they hang out in the front were the cold air doesn’t hit.

In this day and age, not accepting a credit card for monthly membership is a scam. Planet fitness and other gyms are notoriously shady about canceling — using a credit card is the bare minimum protection a gym can offer to ensure its customers can be protected against predatory charging practices.
And yes, sure, I can pay a $30 to use a credit card and protect myself from fraud, but a gym should show potential customers you care about their financial protection, not demonstrate that you’re just fee-happy and predatory.
Do better.

It gets the job done. It’s clean and has most equipment you need. It also has a lift lab which is a plus. No movie theater but there is plenty of cardio machines. The best part, it’s not as busy as other gyms during peak hours. It’s a hidden gem.

Not a very welcoming gym the staff give you mean looks when you ask a simple question I asked for my keys cause I dropped them and the guy got mad and started to look at me all crazy cause I asked for my keys back not very welcoming environment at least planet fitness makes you feel welcomed I didn’t get a Tour of the gym there machines are little to close to each other staff is just rude I might not be coming back it’s only my 2nd day here most of there weight are rubber weights to would be a better gym if you had better staff I didn’t get a chance to use the sauna but luckily I didn’t cause I been seeing the reviews bring back crunch fitness way better gym then this one super rushed gym for no reason

Gym is decent. Agree with reviews below regarding the sauna temperature. Usually staff are very helpful and kind. However, today Kevin took his sweet time to assist me with utilizing the drink machine. Told me he couldn't leave the front unattended. Apparently could call or page anyone to help. So I sat down and waited. Another staff came do you think he bothered to assist smh NO so I go up there and ask him can you help he looks with hesitation as he watches guest come on and tells me to hold on again. I'm so irritated I left didn't even complete my workout. Why am I paying for extra amenities that I am not able to use??!!

I live very close so I'm SO THANKFUL that I have an alternative to Winrock for my yoga classes. I'm glad that Veronica and Reed have classes during my availability; theyre amazing instructors. Also, it's so clean and feels safe.

Sauna isn’t hot because the doors don’t actually close. The message chairs are hard to operate because there are no signs. The inside looks just like crunch but more colored lighting. The machines are new, which is nice. I miss crunch for the price value ratio.

It’s one of the smaller chuze locations with less amenities. One of them being the outdoor area which requires the premium membership. I have the premium membership but still find it ridiculous that you need to pay extra to GO OUTSIDE in a small area with the same equipment that’s inside. The water dispenser is cool especially since they have caffeinated options but expect it to be warm.

The loud music takes away from the experience. You can hear it with your own headphone volume turned all the way up. Not a welcoming environment for people trying to focus on their workout.

MUSIC is TOO LOUD!!! 75% of people here have their own music. I have noise cancelling headphones, and I’m still fighting with the music here. It’s also not to everyone’s taste. It’s a gym not a nightclub. Other than that this is much cleaner and nicer than Winrock- perfect for those days you need just a basic workout. Put the music to a very low hum and I’ll change my rating.

Went in to work out only to be confronted by a worker named Kevin, who said my method of payment was expired since October of last year... I have been getting charged every month and had the same card information for years... so I try to log in and it wouldn't work on the app, so I instead left to get my bank card, come back in and he made me swipe my card 5 times saying it wasn't working before another employee helped him and got me squared away in 2 seconds... definitely will not return because of Kevin and am cancelling my membership... never had this problem in 2 years until I came to this location today, and I was literally here 5 times in the past week...

I love Chuze and its new location is awesome. Yes it’s smaller than the others, but that’s not a big deal (and also blatantly obvious from the outside). The lifting equipment is new and tailored to modern day lifting, they’ve got everything I need, lots of cardio machines. The vibe is cool, it’s clean, and the Lift Lab and outdoor area are awesome for mixing things up.

I’ve read the negative reviews on here I think we need to consider to be lucky to have a chuze on this side of town. I’m off tramway and driving to uptown was a mission. Best to keep in mind this location used to be a Crunch fitness so it’s not gonnna be built ground up like the others. It’s less crowded and has what you need so you can pick a busy location with wait time or easily get to your machine or bench here. Lighting is insane here I love it so far

I want to like this gym — it definitely has potential.
But…
The sauna isn’t hot enough to be effective. It feels like it barely hits 95°F — I sat in there for 10 minutes and didn’t even break a sweat. On top of that, there seems to be some kind of essential oil or scent added that irritates my eyes. No matter how busy the gym gets, the sauna is almost always empty — probably because it’s just not doing what it’s supposed to.
As for the massage chairs, I spent 10 minutes trying to figure it out before I realized you have to go to the front desk to reserve one. I’ve seen several other people confused by this too. It would really help to have a simple sign explaining that process.
Also, the massage program says 30 minutes, but the chair shuts off after 10 — so you never get the full session you selected.
Right now, the Recovery Room just isn’t worth the hassle. If I’m paying for a Premium membership, I shouldn’t have to check in with the front desk every time I want to use an amenity. One visit should unlock at least 30–60 minutes of uninterrupted access.

This is a straightforward, honest take on this gym. Some people might rate it lower—especially if they’re used to the larger Winrock location—and that’s understandable. Chuze appears to be shifting toward a more compact, micro-gym model, so you won’t find all the extras you’d expect from one of their flagship locations.
That said, this gym does exactly what it’s meant to do. It’s a solid place to get in, get your workout done, and move on with your day. I actually prefer the smaller setup—it makes it easier to access the equipment, and everything you need to train your entire body is still here.
Yes, it’s more minimalistic and doesn’t offer the upscale amenities like a movie theater or other amenities you may be used to. But if you’re not looking for all that and just want a clean, efficient, and well-equipped space to train, this gym is a great fit.

It has new equipment which is nice, but the winrock location is much better. This one is really dark, smaller with less cardio equipment, and the sauna doesn't work very well. It feels like you're working out in the dark which is kind of depressing. There are far less TV screens to watch while you do cardio. Even though it's new, it feels really rushed and poorly thrown together.
I went to this location because of the advertising done by Chuze about the first lift lab in ABQ. It was nice to get a tour of it. I asked if I would be able to try the lab before upgrading and more than 1 of the employees stated this was a possibility. When I actually went to try it, the employee there rudely denied my entry to it and made me feel like I was trying to scam them. I've been going to Chuze for many years and always pay my dues. I was genuinely interested in upgrading but this employee turned me off of the idea completely based on how rude they were. I wouldn't recommend this location. Winrock is much nicer with way nicer employees and better amenities.

For some reason they opened a new chuze branch with less amenities than the ones that are already established. This one is closer to my house but I can't imagine I'll ever come back.
Please note that every five star review was before the gym opened. Very sketchy.
