Thanks to his attitude and professionalism, the whole team works really well and the gym is always positive, clean, and well organized. It’s a good gym. I purchased a membership through my insurance, BCBS. I haven’t had any of the billing issues some others have mentioned. As for the gym, there’s a lot of quality equipment. I love the Hammer Strength pin-loaded and plate-loaded machines. It’s an okay spot if you are more strength-focused and stick to squat/bench/deadlift. It’s a commercial gym. No commercial gym is perfect…it is what it is. You do what you need to get done and then you leave. Chuze is good too, but Crunch does have better cardio equipment as well as better variety of machines.

My husband and I canceled after only a couple of months due to lack of classes, canceling classes when you’re already there, and changing of classes. Not to mention the sauna is never hot. I had reached out a few times regarding classes and just got the runaround that more will be added and to give them a chance. Sorry, this is not what we signed up for. I was promised a list of classes and they seemed to accommodate the evening gym goers over the morning people. Lastly, we were never reminded about the annual fee coming out so quickly after signing up. We were members for maybe 3 months and asked for a refund on that due to being a member for less than 3 months which seems fair. But we were told they can’t refund. Only to be told it’s in the agreement. I understand that but give people a heads up when it’s coming out. Read the fine print if you’re attending this gym. Enjoy my husbands and I annual fee thieves.
We have happily moved back to our old gym and couldn’t be happier and was welcomed with great customer service and warmth unlike this gym! Best of luck!

Crunch is large and well equipped (hack squat machine, lots of lifting platforms tons of cardio variations, a ramp and steps you can run). Also has more of the traditional machines and cable based set-ups. An added bonus is a functional fitness/HIIT area/equipment room and classes. Class times are convenient for post typical work day. I signed up for some personal training and the cost is reasonable compared to other more expensive fitness clubs. The person who did my Crunch Kickoff (Alex) set me up with a trainer (Hunter) who was a great fit for my experience and training goals! After six weeks as a member I've only had good experiences! 🤩🌞😊

The employees work hard to keep it clean and PRIVILEGED people LOOOVE to put weights and things around then complain the gym is gross. It wouldnt happen if everyone did their part to keep it clean. Only been open for 3 months and already had a charge for $106, $106 again and then it was put back 2 weeks later after calling 3 times, then a day later they took out ANOTHER $153! I did the opening promotion of $1 and $29.99 membership. Things aren't adding up and I already disputed it with my bank. Statements and all. Already canceled my membership! Be careful with their billing! Going back to CHUZE! They claimed i didn't have sufficient funds but then how come 1 month came out just fine and then I got charged for all 3 months together??? Nope.

The best gym ive ever been to!! Out of all the other places ive gone I was never comfortable anywhere else but there at Crunch I was very comfortable walking in even though it's a huge gym. The equipment is amazing and theres alot to choose from. Me and my husband go together all the time and every time we go its a wonderful experience. The rest and recovery is sooooo great after a good work out to relax and give your body a break. I recommend trying the hydro massage it feels amazing!!! Thank you Crunch for being so wonderful and making my experience great. The employees are very nice and professional which is a bonus!!

Have had bad encounters with some very low class and scary people that are members. Never had this issue with the Crunch on Juan Tabo, so don't expect the same atmosphere. Initially had issues with higher staff, but seems to be worked out now so I have edited my review to give a higer rating for tending to my requirements and I have omitted any negative feelings I had previously, lets hope it stays that way. However, they could still use a little work. Some of the girls that greet you are very friendly with great smiles, which definitely helps with the vibe.

This gym will try and charge you even when you have frozen your account spoke to several employees when I called the location they all said they would note account and I wouldn't get charged again but gym continuously try to charge me every other day pretty much ive called to speak to manager several time but they always say ones not available and they will leave note for one to call you but they never do. I have also emailed them several times about issue and no one responds. Long story short don't try and sign up here bad customer service and they will try and scam you for your hard earned money. Also re through all the reviews as you can see they have tried scamming several people and customer service management all bad and all they do is respond with a copy and paste on the review than they don't answer the email to the customer service email they give you. Definitely a scam!

I truly appreciate the professional and helpful service from Vince. I went in today to cancel my membership because I’m moving to Redding, California, and he took the time to listen and understand my situation. Instead of just canceling, he suggested freezing my membership for 3 months until I join the gym in Redding — an excellent idea that saved me a lot of hassle.

Never sign up for this organization. They said they wouldn't take the money out until the third of the month. My first payment came out the 2nd of September. Then on the 30th, they took out $91.00 Bouncing everything and causing havoc. When I called i was told I had agreed to this, meaning a yearly annual fee. Although I vaguely remember an annual fee i know darn well I never agreed to have $121 coming out in one month. I only agreed to a 3rd of the month. Beware...this company wants money and will keep drawing on your account and ruin your bank account. There was no text on this annual fee...so called reminder or I would have told them I didn't agree to paying $121 in one month. Since I never got my surgery on my foot (the reason I joined in the first place) due to a rescheduling ..I haven't been there yet. The young lady who answered the phone was not at all interested in my complaint as she said all annual fees went out yesterday. To me, it means I wasn't the only one caught off guard and she recieved plenty of calls concerning this. I am lucky, I have USAA and then stopped the payment and future ACH payments. They lost a good client.

This place is shit! I signed up for a gym membership at their grand opening at the beginning of August. A month later, I was told that I had not paid them my $32.28. I had to waste my gas on Saturday afternoon to print out my bank transaction history to show management that I paid them, I left lead to believe that everything was okay, I went back today and check in to be told by the general manager that I was pass due so, I had to than again waste gas to go back home To retrieve the same print out that I showed the different manager Saturday that I paid them. Man, I'm telling you they're already trying to take people's money and charge them late fees. BEWARE, they rip people off here at Crunch Fitness.

I just recently got my membership here and I really enjoy it. I love the classes that they offer. I have taken classes in Pilates, yoga, and even Zumba. I also really love the whole layout of the gym. It’s very big and I love how there’s multiple types of machines. You’re not waiting around. I also think that the front desk staff is very nice and kind and is very punctual. The managers I talk to name Vince is very kind and very helpful.

I went to Crunch intending to sign up for a one-month membership. Instead, I was rushed into signing on a keypad without being given clear details. Later, I received an email stating I had been locked into a six-month personal training contract costing $4197 at $322 every two weeks.
When I tried to cancel, I was told I would owe over $2,000. This was shocking and feels like I was misled and taken advantage of. I am over 60 years old, and I believe they prey on people who may not fully understand the hidden details.
Be especially cautious of Jared (personal trainer) and Trey Ramsey—their practices were dishonest in my experience. I would strongly warn others to avoid this gym, as their tactics can leave you trapped in an expensive contract you never knowingly agreed to.

They said it’s because they have the wrong bank account and routing number. They have the card on file though just never bothered to try the second form of payment.They insist on having that plus a card on file. Don’t know why they need both if they won’t even try to run your card.

Never sent any form of communication saying they were missing payment just got told when we went to the gym today.

Felt bad for the girl working the desk, management just sat by and did nothing, not sure why they get payed more to stand around and not resolve issues.

Great gym state of the art , red light therapy is awesome , they have a lot of heavy bags for kickboxing , they have sleds and turf for football and strength and conditioning, 16 Olympic platforms to do powerlifting , Luke upfront is very helpful and professional very patient and the gym is very affordable only 30$ a month I strongly recommend

3 stars for great customer service not being welcoming at the front desk. There was a dirty blonde girl with fake nails that checked us in today but she was not friendly whatsoever. She helped us sign in as we used their “free trial” day pass. But she barely spoke to us, just pointed at the iPad to fill out. Once we were checked in, the older man next to her was the one that told us to have a good workout but no warmth from the girl. The gym overall was really nice as all the machines are very new. But I’d definitely check it out if you’ve been wanting to! Also, not sure if it’s meant to be this way, but the word “judgement” is misspelled everywhere in there lol.

I am a major gym girl and I love to lift heavy. I have had memberships at all the major gyms in Albuquerque. I was really looking forward to loving this gym and maybe making it my only gym but unfortunately the hip thrust machines are terrible, they all have belts and if you lift heavy the belts cut into your skin and they don’t have any smith machines that go all the way down to do hip thrusts on. That was truly such a let down cause now I have to keep another gym membership just so I can do hip thrusts on a smith. Also they need way more boxes of different sizes for shorter people who are trying to do Bulgarians or other exercises. Like a 12” 16” 18” 20” so that people of different heights have options for different exercises. There are so many machines that don’t allow for a greater range of motion for short people. Like the hack squat machines are great but don’t go low enough. The standing abductor machine is a cool idea but the weight doesn’t go high enough. It would be nice to get a standing abductor machine where you can load the plates on yourself like the booty builder one cause you can do so much more weight that way and really challenge yourself.

I am happy with my personal training but very upset at how they have canceled a lot of the classes in the morning. I signed up because of the classes. I see my trainer from 7am to 8am and would go to the classes right after. Now a lot of them have been canceled and removed from the schedule. This will affect my fitness goals. They started strong with all the classes and I had begun to see results within 2 weeks. Now the morning classes I loved are gone. Poor management with no patience with attendance. The gym just opened. Give it some time to build up attendance.

My son loves Kids Crunch, he literally begs me to take him everyday even if it’s supposed to be my rest day. 😂 There is so much equipment so no more working out a different muscle than what you had originally planned to due to certain machines being taken! I’ve been to many gyms in Albuquerque and this one has fulfilled my desire for a good gym. Staff is knowledgeable and helpful, I see them cleaning the gym constantly which is appreciated. Management has trained their employees very well. They offer so many good things for an affordable price! I was a member at the Juan tabo crunch, loved it, but this one is even better. The environment is friendly I don’t feel anxious when I workout there which is great. I’ll say this, after attending this gym, I’ve learned to love what the company stands for, their mission, vision, and culture align with my personal beliefs and I’ll always look for a crunch wherever I’m at. I saw some negative reviews on this location but I think since they just opened, it’s probably been a lot on the employees, so if you’ve had a bad experience I’d go back and give it another shot, employees are human too, cut them some slack!

What an upgrade from my last gym! The Kids Crunch program is awesome two hours per session in the morning or afternoon (instead of just an hour and a half in the afternoon like my old gym). I believe it’s one session per day, but correct me if I’m wrong. The hours are fantastic, the machines are modern and upgraded. My family and I absolutely love this gym so far!

Choose another gym. I signed up here 4 months before they started patiently waiting for them to open. Upon opening, I had questions about my account. This gym has been amazing since the day at open today I ran into a little hiccups. I was in the sauna. The employee opened the door and started cleaning the window let all the hot air out. He literally told management on me cause I asked him what he was doing. Then management came in open the door as well and asked me if I wanted to talk to him I kindly told him no shut the door. I got so mad that it got so cold in there I just ended up. Telling management I wanted to quit my membership at first it seemed like he didn’t care going through the process. He didn’t talk me out of it. He just treated me with respect and I’m gladly still a member. Hope they improve on their staff training. I’ll be giving an update in one month to see if they better their staff training.

Several weeks ago I received a text message from this Crunch fitness team from San Mateo regarding the opening and to stop by and pick up my bonus bag of goodies. I indicated that I wanted to cancel due to loss of employment; this person was kind and advised me that I had to come in to do it, after a few days of going back and forth and finding out the process. No problem, I went inside and spoke with whom I was told was one of the owners (an older white gentleman, bulky male with blue eyes) He stated he would cancel it and I should receive an email confirming this.
In the following weeks I kept getting the opposites emails: start your work with classes, etc.
Today I went inside again. As I was approaching the front desk, a tall, huge bulky male with dark hair named Gary, pointed to the scanned and said scan here. Now when I get to the front desk and I said, I don't have that. He then asked me how he could help me with a face that did not reflect he wanted to be there nor help me. In fact, I think he was upset I may have had to stop his conversation with the younger ladies. I told him that my membership I believe was not canceled as I was told and as I am speaking he cuts me off; and three times as I continue to give him my personal information. He then says "sign here", without explaining what I'm signing. He said it is to cancel it. I said ok and asked I will not be charged anything and he said no, "just sign". After this, i began to ask if I could please have a confirmation, again he cut me off and was still being very short and looking upset and appeared he just wanted me out of the way. I finally returned a serious face back to him and pushed back my head in implying with my body language an attitude and said "Well thank you (came back in, closer to him to see his name) Gary.
Basically Gary was very rude, his energy and body language all said this and just for cancelling my membership. I was only doing the responsible thing and this gym completely failed me initially and at the end with their horrible customer service. They gave me such a hard time to cancel over the phone, made me come in TWO times and gave me attitude while canceling it.
Like who wants to be treated disrespectfully and dismissed? I was going to come back when I became employed again; however, I have changed my mind after that entire experience. I don't need the stress on canceling a memberships. Shouldn't have this been an easy thing for you guys to do? Isn't this what you advertise? Hmmmm... I hope Undercover Boss stops by your gym.

Great gym! Lots of space and tons of equipment. The staff is super friendly. The only downside is that the sauna isn't very hot. Most saunas will have you sweating within the first few minutes. This one won't cause you to sweat all. It felt like 70 degrees, not really useful. Hopefully, they will start turning the heat up. Overall, it's a very nice place.

Amazing space with alot of exercise options. So much equipment, variety of classes, and 24/7 access. Staff is friendly, helpful, and knowledgable.

Other wonderful offerings include: men's and women's seperate sauna areas, tanning stalls, and aqua massage beds!

One perk I should mention for parents, they offer child care! Such a great feature.

Don't let petty grievences, excuses, or negative Google reviews get in your way for a better, healthier life! This gym IS where it's at for sure. ❤️

Yesterday I went for the grand opening to the new crunch off San Mateo. I’ve been considering it as my new gym but wanted to check it out first before signing up for a membership. All week I have been getting flooded with texts, emails, even phone calls from crunch trying to recruit me into the gym. I got an email for a free 3 day pass, followed by a text that said “don’t forget to redeem your free workout!” I figured, why not.
When I arrived, it was busy but not crazy. I brought my friend as well. When we went up to the desk for the free trial, there was an older man who approached us who seemed to be a manager as he was wearing a grey collar shirt and was in different attire than the other team members. I let him know we wanted to try the day pass. He responded bluntly with “there is no free day pass.” I showed him the screen shots on my phone of the promotion. He again said “ya there’s no pass. I can sign you up for $1” I asked him why I was getting all these promos for a free day pass and he replied like he was annoyed with, “eventually we’ll have a day pass but today is the grand opening. I can charge you $15 for a day pass today if you don’t want to sign up.” I asked him if we could have a tour of the gym before paying $15 for the day. He rudely responded “it’s the grand opening, we’re pretty busy right now.” His response and his attitude turned me off right away. I instantly didn’t want to pay for a day pass or sign up based off how he treated me. He made it seem like I was waisting his time. I understand he was overwhelmed because it was grand opening, however, you think that this would be the time for him to give exceptional guest service as they are trying to recruit for new memberships.
I ended up paying the $15, got my lift it and left. I am no longer considering this gym as a new gym partially because I don’t feel like this gym is anything special for a commercial gym and also based off the negative experience with him as well.
As a manager, do better, you set the tone.
