Believe the reviews about poor management and caring only about money. This gym has gone downhill fast and I regret giving it a second chance. I’m a furloughed federal worker and requested a one month membership while I was not working. The rep asked me to sign several forms and then I paid $107. Imagine my surprise when I showed up on what I thought were my last 3 days of my membership when they tell me that they do not offer one month memberships, they signed me up for a 4 week membership, and I should have read my agreement they emailed because THAT is where they noted my end date, not from the rep when I signed up. The manager Chloe suggested I pay $19 for a day pass if I wanted to work out the final day. The facility itself is great but I’ll be taking my money somewhere with better communication, customer service, and maybe just a little bit of consideration and where people aren’t nickel and dime’d to death in the name of making one last $20 despite their own lack of communication. $126 will get you so much more at any of the surrounding gyms in the area.

Solid classes, now, the cleaning is consistent, especially by one guy who takes the work seriously. Recent improvements to pool, hot tub, and fully closed door sauna helps to get a 4th star. I would appreciate more rubber mats through the women's and family walkway areas, too easy to slip and fall. -- 10-6-2025 Update - thanks for the pool improvements, looking fresh, new, very good. Plus - your "Detailman" Ocelous? I think, is a wonderful addition. He takes his work very seriously and stays on top of the areas I am, regularly. Please do add Friday Aqua Classes with Sheresa Sparks? Helps with my, painful, arthritis and preparation for replacement surgery - Please? - Thank you for continuous improvement.

I love this gym overall. However, the last maybe 3-4 months the women’s locker room NEVERRRR has soap in the soap dispensers. I’m sorry but that is something to me that is very unacceptable in a gym setting.

Its easy to sign up, they lied about how to cancel. Good luck canceling with them, they said I had to send in an email and an explanation with my phone number to cancel. I did that. Then , they continued charging me for several months
.I called any they then said I had to come in and cancel in person. THEY ARE THIEVES AND LIARS. DO NOT TRUST THEM.

I love defined fitness at hilltop. It's a convenient location. I love the water aerobics classes. I can get a good work out. The best workout was the deep water aerobics. Could you consider bringing that back? I love to workout with the gym machines. I have a problem with people wiping down the seats and leaving them sopping wet. The other problem I have is with the arm exercise machines people leave them up way too high after using them and then I can't reach them to use. I can see that you work hard at trying to keep the place clean and things order, but I do have a problem with ta few cleanliness issues. The pool has tons of sand in it. The shower walls are slimy and have hair stuck on the walls and piled up on the floor. But it is much cleaner than the city pool, which is very disgusting.

Got my membership for this gym through Presbyterian. I canceled my membership in 2024 through pres and then left Presbyterian altogether in 2025 and left New Mexico. 6 months later from leaving the state I’m being billed for $75 from this establishment even though I cancelled through Pres because there is no other way to cancel with the Presbyterian fitness pass. It is also no where blatantly stated that you also need to physically go to the gym to cancel. Now that I live thousands of miles away I am still unable to cancel. Furthermore the planet fitness employee claims Presbyterian is still paying my membership charge when Presbyterian has proven this inaccurate. This is an abusive of corporate power for charging me an absurd amount and not letting me cancel when I no longer live there, even though I followed the correct protocol. Thankfully a Presbyterian employee is helping me dispute these charges even though I am no longer an employee or apart of there insurance. As I am writing this the Presbyterian employee is on hold with defined and has been on hold for about 15 minutes. When I spoke with them I also was on hold for 10 minutes… completely unprofessional. We’ll see if I still have to pay the ludicrous payment. After this I will never go to or recommend a defined fitness to anyone.
EDIT: defined fitness hung up on the call with the Presbyterian employee that was going to dispute the charges. Probably because they are avoiding disputing the charges. This is completely unacceptable and I will be having a Presbyterian employee and/or myself calling everyday to resolve this matter. I’m so tired of corporate gluttony in this country. This is absolutely absurd.
Sincerely,
Disappointed

It was beautiful when it first opened. It was brand new. It was exciting. I enjoyed working out. Then I started swimming and was into that. I enjoyed the hot tub and dry sauna too.
I went there a month ago. It was falling apart. The pool didn’t look clean, the hot tub wasn’t working, the showers by the pool were not working. There was no soap in the men’s locker room. When I told this to the people at the front desk they clearly could not care less about the issues I announced that I’d observed.
I go to Planet Fitness now. It’s clean. Everything works. The staff wants to be there. It’s got a great vibe. People are happy to be there. I’m so happy I found them!

I loved this gym when it first opened . But the prices skyrocketed. Went from 35 to 50. Which is insane especially if youre not using all the amenities. They need to have several options for prices and memberships especially in this economy. Plus there's always hidden fees in this gym so beware.

Bathrooms are always filthy and they can't keep the cleaners because of losey pay. The gym has really gone downhill, dingey and dirty, machines are never cleaned. If your concerned about cross contamination and getting sick then I would avoid this gym and all DF gyms. Another problem they have is how they train, when I told the staff that checks people in that there was not toilet paper in the bathrooms, they told me they had to stay upfront and could not leave.
Not the first time that toilet paper was empty!
It's just gross here!

Honestly not a great gym, its overy crowded and a good chunk of the machines don't work, including the pool and hottub due to bad ventilation and or who knows what else. Not to mention when I got seriously sick I kept calling to cancel and they refused to do it over the phone. Because I couldn't physically come in to cancel, they kept charging me and I didn't my membership at all when I was sick for a few months. Frankly seems like they care more about raising the prices and taking your money rather than giving you a good experience. Also got too expensive to keep it going so I'll sign up with another gym

This is my favorite gym in Albuquerque! I like the staff and feel comfortable with the people who are customers here. They seem to cater to a lot of veterans, and I see several people, there with disabilities like myself. That speaks volumes.
The facilities could use an upgrade, especially the pool and shower areas. Perhaps we will see that one day.
Special kudos to my personal trainer there, Rebecca! I have a lot of physical problems and she was able to help me develop a training program that worked around them.

They want you to vote them best in the city but can’t even stock up the soap and toilet paper in the bathrooms. The family bathrooms smell like pee and the showers leak water all over the floor. Hair everywhere from someone shaving. The machines take months to get repaired. The pool is always out of service. They raised the price of memberships. I would say go somewhere else. There are cheaper better gyms out there!

Left my old gym thinking this was a good choice. Big mistake. Numerous Machines are always taking rest days/broken. Say they are working on it going to be fixed soon. Months later still resting...Appearance of black mold in the restroom or maybe just very dirty. Show up to work out Memorial Day and gym is closed due to lack of Staff??? Day before not open on time myself and other people waiting outside. Gym needs significant improvement. Seeking alternative.

I've been a member of Defined since 90's and overall love the gym and now with many more locations and majority of gyms are quite large, plenty of equipment, saunas, hydromassage beds, etc. However this all only accounts for a portion of keeping an upmost appearance and attractive all around. I left Bosque gym due to continued negligence of the bathroom (men's), equipment falling apart not being repaired timely and lack of cleanliness. Now after 2 + years @ Hilltop it's all followed suit. They opened up with staff on duty daily wiping machines down, vacuuming, assuring bathrooms were attended to. That's fallen of the wayside. Men's bathroom rarely have soap in any of approx. 8 soap dispensers, no sign of staff cleaning bathrooms, nor main workout areas. Gyms in general have had a stigma of lack of cleanliness, sanitizing. DF don't continuing falling into this category rise above. Then comes the equipment, when I read a sign 'this machine is taking a rest day I'm understanding 'day' not weeks. Two of their ab machines that are quite popular have been on rest for over two weeks now. You advertise 3rd year in a row we were voted best gym but now I question this. Let's get this great health club back on track and do what's right and to satisfy the members. May 25 & 26, 2025; Both mornings no staff were there to open the gym. Signs were placed on the doors, NO STAFF call the phone number. This is not acceptable and disrupting to the members daily routines prior to work, etc. We are the bread and butter to keep you operating. I can only this is been resolved and come the 27th all will be back in normal operating function.

Update: i was told "this wouldn't happen again" and here we go again several mornings in the last month or so we have no show employees my wife and I showed up this morning Sunday the 25th at 7:00 and the gym still hadn't been opened this is beyond annoying and unprofessional for the amount you're charging your members you should be able to do the bare minimum and open on time and let's not get started on the machines that have been broken for months something needs to change at this location you give new members free months and cheap sign up deals every month and shaft your long term members and it's really starting to show the lack of respect you actually have for those members and it seems like even if you complain nothing changes.
The gym is going down hill I've been a member of hilltop since they've had the old location and it only gets worse as someone who can only work out in the morning before work I rely on the staff showing up on time and the gym being open but it seems like it's become a more consistent problem with people not showing up at first it was a one off every couple of months understandable to an extent but it now its every other week if not every week that people just aren't showing up now I have to drive 15 minutes to the next location to get a quick workout in and on top of that they up the membership fee so we we are being charged more for less access to the gym this is absolutely ridiculous

Whether it be weekdays or weekends, there is a good chance you'll be waiting outside for this gym to open. It is 6:09 a.m. with the gym supposed to open at 5:30 a.m. on a Sunday. There are 20 people waiting at the doors. If I pay to be here, maybe the people who get paid to be here should show up as well. This is incredibly frustrating especially with a 24-hour a day gym five doors down that is always open.

I’ve been a member of Defined Fitness several years now, and I have to say, I’m quite disappointed with my experience lately. One of the major issues is the chronically broken equipment. It seems like every time I visit, several machines are out of order, which can really disrupt my workout routine.
Additionally, the swimming pool facilities leave much to be desired. The pool area is
often closed and feels neglected, making it less inviting for members.
Another concerning aspect is the lack of upkeep in the restrooms. They often feel unclean, and I've encountered empty soap dispensers far too many times. It’s frustrating to see such basic hygiene neglected.
Overall, it feels like Defined Fitness is deliberately providing a subpar experience to encourage members to cancel their memberships, possibly to manage overcrowding. This is really disappointing, as I was hoping for a better atmosphere and facilities. I hope they can address these issues soon, as I would love to see improvements!

This gym is so disorganized and the employees are so extremely rude. I rather drive 15 minutes to the Rio club than to step foot in this gym, even though it’s 5 minutes from my home. I’ve tried to give it a chance multiple times and it continues to fail me. Imagine going to this location for the first time for about a week and the daycare employee (Crystal) grabs your child by the hoodie because he was running. If they don’t have the patience to work with kids they shouldn’t be working in daycare. These kids get off of school full of energy and go straight to the gym. It’s also crazy that when I complained about this employee, the other employees already knew exactly who I was talking about. Another time I tried going here, I was trying to purchase a drink and I told the guest services employee “do you want to see my barcode” sarcastically she says “no I want to see your phone for fun”. The amount of attitude problems these employees have is unbelievable. I NEVER have any issues at the Rio club like this and I’ve been going there for 2 years.

I joined this gym for the pool. It's been down a month now and it seems this is not the first time. The pool area needs maintenance as well. The gym advertises the pool and that it's up and running. It's been a month, I'm paying for my membership and not been able to use my membership for the purpose that I joined for. I can't drive to another location. The pool needs to be fixed ASAP or the members that pay for the membership to use the pool should be refunded their dues. This not right it good business I'm very disappointed.

The gym equipment is frequently out of order, which is unacceptable given the amount of money we pay each month. It’s beyond frustrating that they can’t manage to fix their equipment in a timely manner.
Additionally, the men’s sauna door is faulty and doesn’t close properly. The temperature usually hovers around 150 degrees, while it should be at least 20 degrees hotter. Fixing the door could easily resolve this issue.
The showers are in dire need of attention; the unpleasant smell indicates that they aren’t being cleaned properly, and the curtains are disgusting and need to be replaced immediately.
On a positive note, the free weights are great, and the front staff consistently provide excellent service, even at 0400.
It’s time for Defined Fitness to step up and make the necessary improvements!
Instead of building a pickleball gym next door, they should prioritize improving the actual gym!

The pool at the hilltop location has been continuously down. It’s been down for months and they have no answer because it looks like they’re waiting on an electrician! What! There are many electricians in Rio Rancho in Albuquerque that could come and do it by tomorrow! I need it for therapy reasons And cannot go to other Defined fitness locations as they are too far from me. It’s been months and the pool is still down with no concrete answers on when it will open. My sister was telling me how there’s no wipes on the floor and the mats are dirty/filthy and this was not the case before. She also said machines were down for quite a while. What’s going on with Defined fitness they used to be the best. Extremely disappointed!
And this happens all the time with this pool. It is continuously down for months and it looks like hell in there also from the pain on the walls peeling down, which would not bother me if I just had the pool and Jacuzzi would be nice. Come on to find fitness

**UPDATE 9/9/24
This gym continues to disappoint. The men’s Sauna looks ridiculous right now. The bench has been broken for over a month now. We have to use a bottle to keep the door shut because it stays cracked. The staff here doesn’t care. I also told the front desk over a month ago about the sauna situation. Still no changes.
It took me a while to review this gym because it is the best gym close to my house and by far way better than dusty planet fitness. I come to this gym 6 days a week and finally, I’ve had enough!! They have good machines…… when they are working. The most ridiculous is on one of the bench presses, the bench is literally broken and crooked for months now..
Its always crowded here, especially by the heavy dumbbells. But I would say its unfair to review you guys being crowded..
But where I really get frustrated is the locker rooms.. like wow! the same hook in the same locker has been broken for months now. Some of the lockers don’t even fit my lock anymore due to someone that doesn’t know what they are doing when fixing the locker because it fit before whatever repair they made..
The showers are disgusting, especially when you see the same piece of gum in the same shower multiple days in a row, OR seeing the same blood stain on the same shower curtain multiple days in a row! That right there is disgusting!! What is all the staff doing walking around!?!?
And Finally, the toilets! Only 3 toilets to that entire gym!! No wonder they are always covered with stains (on the seats) and always out of toilet paper! Figure something out guys! This is ridiculous especially for what you guys charge!!
UPDATE: 3/28/25
I really do hate leaving negative reviews as this gyms location is very convenient and I enjoy working out here. But you guys just don’t care. I continue to have to clean nasty hair out of lockers. Thankfully you guys provide disinfectant wipes. But that is really gross! You guys should really just leave the water bottle underneath the sauna door because obviously your solution doesn’t work. The door still has a huge crack in it and the sauna doesn’t get hot enough… the same issues just continue to happen here…

Half the equipment has been “taking a rest day” for over a month, making the overcrowding on the machines in service even worse than usual. Soap dispensers in the bathrooms are constantly empty, and overall cleanliness is substandard. And with all the issues, membership rates still go up! If half the gym is broken, members should get a rate discount until the gym is in acceptable condition.
Edit: Do you consider the seated dip machine being down for over a month to be repaired in a timely manner? That’s a laughable response.

The management at this facility is marked by dishonesty and a disingenuous approach. The staff is generally unfriendly, with Rebecca standing out as the only trainer genuinely committed to helping members achieve their fitness goals. Her dedication is a rare bright spot in an otherwise disappointing environment.
For those considering joining for access to the pool, think twice. It is poorly maintained and unsuitable for both water aerobics and lap swimming, with management showing no interest in addressing these issues.
Adding to the frustration, the facility employs cost-cutting tactics that leave members feeling nickel-and-dimed. When the new club was built, a series of promises were made to attract members, but an estimated 80% of those commitments were broken. This pattern of unfulfilled promises, coupled with subpar amenities and disengaged staff, makes it difficult to recommend this facility to prospective members.

The manager of this location is extremely friendly and great with the couple of interactions I’ve had with her. The child care at this location is AMAZING. My toddler LOVES to go work on “muscles” and they are truly the friendliest staff. Makes me happy that I can go to the gym and not worry about her. I would give this alone 10 stars but the rating is reflecting the other things.
Now for the rest. My husband gets up at 3:45 every morning during the week to workout prior to his 40 minute drive to work. Already a handful of times nobody has shown up to open the gym. I’m not sure if there is only one opener? But if so then they need to have a couple to avoid this. Your most loyal customers go that early and besides the fees increasing, this issue needs to stop. Besides the child care the rest of the staff you will be lucky if you even get a hello. Again, I can forgive quite a bit if there is at least friendly staff but most aren’t and you have a few others that are GLUED to their phone and won’t even look at you- just hold up the scanner for your ID to get checked in.
If you guys are going to charge a prettier penny, show up to open the gym at the time that is advertised, FIX broken equipment, and get new employees or current ones an attitude change so they have pride to be there. It’s a beautiful facility and my experience there has been mostly positive but lately these things have made us consider a new gym. Hoping y’all really read these and come back better.

Tried working out early before work and apparently someone slept in because the gym was not open when I arrived at 5am. They post it opens at 4:30am. There were about 30 cars waiting and no one showed to open. From talking to different peeps on site, this has happened several times already. This gym was awesome but seems to be falling apart with gym equipment not being repaired, sinks in lockers being broken and dirty and showers looking like they have had the same shower curtains for several years and constantly leaking. I don't really say much, but come on management, let's get it together please!

I was visiting for thanksgiving weekend and was so excited to be able to walk to this location since it was up the street from my dad’s house. Little did I know they had the most asinine guest pass policy. I’ve bought guest passes all over the country and happily pay the $20+ but never in my life have I had to pay (where they now have my card info) then asked to leave “something of value” at the front desk. For what? I’ve seen it if I’m borrowing a certain piece of equipment but I’m just using the facility. What’s the exchange for?
Like I said; I walked, so no car keys and no wallet (it’s 2024- Apple Pay) so I was forced to leave my Beats headphones and listen to the gym music which was 2010s pop with an emphasis on Taylor swift songs (I’m a closet swiftie but not for working out). Anyway, thanks for ruining my workout and the start of my Friday! Luckily there’s another gym in the same parking lot that will take my money and let me keep whatever I have on me that’s valuable. (Btw couldn’t find anything posted on their website about day passes at all)

I like this gum for the most part. I have noticed the water dispenser bt the locker rooms has been broken for about a month. For as much as the member ship fee has gone up this should of been fixed by now. Also the mens locker room is nasty. I'm always picking up trash around my locker. On the up side most of the people are friendly and welcoming.

I have been attending the Hilltop location since they opened and I absolutely love it! Of course it’s busy / it’s an amazing gym - so everyone wants to go there. There are certainly less crowded gyms nearby / but they do not offer everything Defined Hilltop does. The gym is spotless, there are always cleaning staff around and I always find it to smell very pleasant. The equipment is well maintained and not difficult to get on whichever piece you are hoping to use. There are multitudes of classes included in your membership. There is an amazing selection of cardio equipment / including 12 stairclimbers!! You can always get on whatever cardio equipment of your choice. The best part is the staff are very welcoming and helpful and the fellow members are friendly - even though there are a lot of people there we all talk to each other and it feels like there is camaraderie there. I have met so many nice people there since joining. It’s busy for a reason!! It’s run professionally, is clean, has professional and reliable trainers (unlike other gyms and trainers I have trained with). I would highly recommend Defined Hilltop for all your fitness needs.

This is a poorly ran gym. I went in 2 days ago and the stall I was in, had no TP. The next stall also had to TP!
I go into one of the individual family restrooms and there was water ALL OVER the floor.
I walked into another one (since there three)
And the toilet was covered in poop.
There’s usually no soap in the dispensers. A few sinks in the restroom don’t even have dispensers. They’re broken off.
Don’t even get me started on repair times for anything. If the sauna isn’t down, it’s the hot tub. If a machine is broken, they have to call someone from a different country to come by boat to get it fixed. (This is how long it takes).
You go up the street to the Enchanted Hills location and it’s squeaky clean. Everything is working. You can tell there is a huge difference in management. I’m seriously thinking of cancelling my membership.
Yeah the lighting is nice. The equipment is new…ish. But at the rate this place is going down, it won’t surprise me when this place closes completely.
I have been at this gym since the grand opening. The first few months were great. Since then, it’s been a grand disaster.

There is absolutely no reason to join this overpriced gym over something way cheaper like Planet Fitness, Chuze, etc. it's insanely crowded at all hours even though they overcharge. They don't have enough equipment to accommodate and it's disorganized and scattered across the gym in the most bizarre way that makes no sense and makes it really difficult to workout in an efficient way. The one reason I joined was the unlimited access to massage machines, which they just revoked with a "see front desk sign". But then there is no staff at the front desk to help you use them. And beware of their sign up scam. They like to funnel you through signing a contract on a credit card pad that you can't actually see or read they "summarize" (aka leave out critical details so they can charge you later). They should be sued for this and it should be illegal.

This has the potential to be a great gym if the fees charged were used to keep things in working order. If you go before dawn the lights in the parking lot are not on on the gyms end making it dangerous but the rest of the complexes lighting is working. The bottle filler has been broken for months so if you are coming from work… bring water…and amenities like the hot tub are constantly out of order. While nothing is repaired our fees are increasing.

UPDATED 9/1/24:
Just got a notice that our membership dues are going up 25%(!!!!) for no reason except to price gouge their customers. There are fewer and fewer businesses worth supporting these days. I would maybe be willing to pay more if they didn't have broken equipment that's been pending repair for 4 months. It's upsetting because this is the only gym in town with gender neutral bathrooms and I don't feel comfortable at most other commercial gyms.
Lots to like about this gym. I come in the morning to avoid the crowds, which seem to be at every gym. As a trans person, the biggest selling point of this location is the "family changing rooms" which are gender neutral single room bathrooms with showers that also can lead to the pool. I also really appreciate the specialty equipment like the hip belt and multihip machine that you don't usually find at most commercial gyms. They also have 10+ squat racks, a deadlift platform, and a whole outside weights and turf area I can't wait to use when it starts warming up outside.
The one downside about this location is the pool and hot tub have been closed due to some climate control issues. However, the gym owner sent all members a detailed email explaining the issue and how and when they will be correcting it, so I can tell they are trying to fix it. To me it is obvious that the staff here tries hard to keep everything clean and functioning. I was super impressed yesterday when I saw team members deep cleaning the cardio equipment, like in all the little nooks and crannies. Not sure where these other reviewers are seeing the dirty equipment. I have never seen crew clean like that at the other big gyms I went to.
The price could be better (mainly the sign up fee is a bit rough when you don't want to commit to a full year) but if anything, it's probably good that it's not the cheapest place or you would have a lot of the issues with overcrowding and filth that the other big gym chains have.
Defined fully deserves the recognition as the top gym in ABQ!

Its a nice gym with an encouraging atmosphere and a nice mix of beginners and more skilled lifters. Staff are very useful. The expense is a big concern which although I have been able to handle has scared off almost everyone I try to take to the gym with me, especially considering that we are largely uninterested in the additional amenities outside of the weight and cardio equipment. Very popular machines like the leg extension or calf extension machine you will have to wait for any time you go, which is a bit annoying considering that there is really only one of each, yet there are a number of fairly frivolous "whole-body" machines that take floor space as well.
The most important thing I would like to see are more 2.5lb plates in the benching/squatting area near the dumbells. Most people cannot make progress on ~10 pound jumps (a 5 lb on each side) so it is important that there are more than 2 pairs of plates being shared among upwards of 10 lifters at once. Also, the benches do not have any ability to add safeties on them. Not having optional safeties is like riding a bike that bans helmets. These problems do not hold for the squat cages on the turf, which thankfully each have their own set.
Otherwise, it is a solid gym with good quality and new equipment, decent cleanliness, and thankfully no trashy blue lives politics being shoved down your throat like other gyms in the area.

Absolutely horrible when it comes to billing and getting a response with billing issues. I had to go down twice in person at the beginning of the year. I thought the issue was resolved. And now again 5 months later dealing with the same issue. Not returning a call within a 2 week time frame. Then I have to call back and still told you "should" receive a call from corporate within 48 hours is unacceptable. My son loves this gym. This location manager doesn’t run it efficiently. Bathrooms aren’t cleaned that well. Never replaces equipment that needs replacing. Machines are always broken and takes weeks to repair. I understand Rio Rancho/Albuquerque is a dangerous place to live in general with how many drug addicts are basically everywhere at this point. Furthermore, it is highly inappropriate for the front desk lady to not give me any response when I told her a man was right outside the entrance smoking crack on property and rolling around the floor. But to ignore my complaint completely to my face and allow that man to enter the building. He even looked right at me while proceeding to get up from his bench and walked up to me so I left feeling rather unsafe. Illegal activity should never be tolerated inside or on the property I will never go back to this location because I can’t even enjoy my time without feeling like I should be on defense.

I really enjoy this gym. The sauna is a huge bonus. It does get very crowded but that’s just because it’s a great gym and perfect location. I love the hydrotherapy machines too. Overall I recommend it to the people in my life!
I do want to recommend turning the music volume down, it gets so loud I can’t even listen to my own headphones or talk with people next to me (and I’m the demographic who typically enjoys loud music!). Several times I’ve worn ear plugs in the sauna to try to escape from how loud the music is.
I have also recently noticed a decline in the cleaning of the facilities. Bits of trash and dust/sweat are beginning to pile up in corners.
Just some feedback that I hope y’all take in. High rating though because overall my experience is wonderful! :)

I signed up for this location since it just a 4min drive from my house. However, I find myself rarely using my membership because the things I am interested in most (the pool) are almost always closed! This recent pool closure has lasted over 2 months and anytime I call to ask for an estimate on when it will reopen, no one has an answer. I am currently pregnant and the pool would be my ideal workout versus trying to wait around for weight lifting equipment. I have requested a refund for the time that the pool was down, but told that is not an option. I don’t see why anyone should have to pay full price for a gym that is not “fully functional.” Another HUGE complaint is that many members in the woman’s locker room will choose to take their “workout selfies” in the mirrors located right next to the changing/ locker area! How horrible to think that someone might accidentally get your naked body in one of their pics and then post it on the internet! Taking photos in a bathroom/ locker room should be strictly forbidden, but there are no signs stating so (even though it’s clearly common sense.)

I feel really sad and let down by the gym I joined. They kept saying they're the best in New Mexico, but I don’t see it. Their customer service and how they manage things are just not good. I’ve had so many problems with them, and they never seem to help me. It's especially disappointing because the manager, who is a woman, doesn't seem to care much. Sometimes, the other staff are nicer and more helpful than her.
One time, they charged me too much money. When I asked for it back, the manager acted annoyed, like it was a bother for her to check. But isn’t it her job to help people? They get paid to do their jobs, but they act like they don’t want to help you. I had to ask my bank to deal with them because they kept saying they refunded me, but they never did. They don’t seem to want to help, and they always blame the customer. It took forever to get my money back, even though it was their mistake.
But when they couldn't charge me for the gym, they called me right away. They said I hadn't paid for 11 days, even though they always took my money automatically every month for a year. I asked why, but they didn’t know or didn’t want to explain. It's okay if there are some problems sometimes, but at least they could say sorry for the trouble. All I got from them was “you haven’t paid, you didn’t pay.” It felt like everything was my fault, even though their job is to help people and fix problems on their end.
It's really disappointing that they don’t seem to care about keeping their customers happy. They spend so much on getting new people to join, but they don’t seem to care about the ones they already have. It's also frustrating that there’s nowhere to complain or get help. You have to talk to the manager, who isn’t even good at her job or maybe just doesn’t care. There's no customer service or support for customers. It's really sad. What a shame.

I tried to cancel my membership in person a while ago because of the loud music that overpowered my headphones. The manager on duty turned down the music a bit and talked me out of canceling in a way that made me uncomfortable. I have avoided this club in favor Mesa, which doesn’t blast music, and is near my work, but I’m finding that i don’t enjoy working out in a big box gym. I just called to cancel before being billed on the first of the month and was told that I missed the deadline (25th) of the month. And you have to pay a cancellation fee if you make the deadline. This is an awful policy. When I sold a vehicle and canceled the auto insurance, I received a credit for the rest of the month. When I canceled my membership at the Stoneage climbing gym because of an injury, they were super nice and refunded the rest of the month. I guess I know which gym I’m going back to.

I want to thank all of you for your service and the conscientious manner in which you make my time so enjoyable.

Great gym!! Forget about all the negative reviews, someone gave a negative review because their glasses were stolen? Seriously?? Is that the gym's problem? Or people just like to complaint? I have been going to this gym since the beginning of this year (2023), all staff are friendly, machines are new and in perfect shape, and the atmosphere is nice! I definitely recommend it!!

Great gym! I stopped in here while visiting family and was very pleasantly surprised by how helpful & friendly the staff were, and how clean the gym is. They had plenty of equipment and weren’t packed on a Saturday morning. Can’t recommend enough!

The new Hilltop facility is awesome, and all the staff is very nice and friendly. Super busy when I've been, but there are more than enough machines and weights to accommodate everyone.

Nice new clean gym! Very busy in the evenings after 5 but it is what it is at that point.

Very clean with pleasant staff. The music is unbearably loud. Even with ear buds I cannot hear my own radio. Please lower the volume before you lose more patrons.
