This use to be my very favorite gym in the city, it’s still super clean and the staff is awesome, but they just traded out the cardio machines for some dusty wobbly old ones that don’t even work! A small gym which makes it very accessible to the average patron. Hardly any wait to use any machine or massage stations. Showers with locker room makes the place complete as it makes for an overall complete gym experience. Nearby liquor store kind of attracts the homeless but they are pretty harmless.

It is very basic in the machinery, they have too many cardio machines that most people do not use, we need more leg machines and a free air to carry weights. Very simple 🤦🏼‍♀️

Private franchise, employees are a mix bag. Some Very courteous, others questionable.
Today a tall skinny bald white man Wearing a planet fitness shirt wandered the bathroom and shower area holding a roll of garbage bags but didn't check if the garbage was full or not. Just peter gazed and lingered near the bathroom stall as a gentleman tried to use the bathroom.

Staff are great, but have to deal with complaints of clients that go unanswered.

Now that it is summer again, they put the health of people who are vulnerable at risk. Elderly and those who come in on Oxygen.

Too hot, too humid because some moron thought it would be a good idea, again, to put portable swamp coolers in there without any way to vent the humidity. Today it's 80 degrees at 5 PM and way humid.

We pay the same rates as every other location and get the worst gym. Just because it's in the "poor" part of town.

This Planet Fitness location falls short of expectations. (originally written 2023)

It boasts an impressive array of cardio equipment (40 treadmills, 30 ellipticals) but severely lacks in strength training options. Only one set of dumbbells and four adjustable benches (often occupied or broken) are available. Essential equipment like stair climbers are frequently out of order.

While aesthetics seem to be a priority (tanning booths!), basic maintenance and functionality are neglected. Broken equipment remains unrepaired for extended periods, and climate control issues persist.

The "look good, not feel good" mentality is evident.

2025 Update: Despite some repairs, the location still lacks the full range of equipment and services found in other Planet Fitness locations.

Staff are friendly but limited in their ability to address issues. Language barriers hinder effective communication and enforcement of gym rules.

Overall, this location is underwhelming and fails to provide a satisfactory fitness experience.

I was charged a late fee after years of never being charged one and always paying on time. I called the manager who explained that billing was out of her hands and that I should call my bank. It seemed dismissive of the management. Also, she did not allow me to cancel my membership over the phone. She said it had to be in person or by sending a letter. These are barriers to taking my business somewhere else.

I have been a member since 2020. And the facility needs to post cellphone usage should be at the lobby. I tried to get a machine someone was sitting and on their cellphone most of the time and not using the machine. You are expected to use the machines for a short period not half an hour! I brought this to the person who was using it
attention. I was on another machine and than another machine.. he was still using the machine. I asked him if he was finished. Still he was on there another minute. I saw the other machine was being used at the 30 minute station.
This Planet Fitness is unkept and dirty. There are usually employees at the front desk talking and don't pay attention to what is going on!

First time at this Planet Fitness. As a Black Card member I visit a lot of PFs. This was a pleasant surprise. Layout is great for fitness types. Machines all seemed new and really in great shape. Mens locker area (showers) could use a renovation and floors could be cleaned more often. That is the reason for only four stars. I rate this PF as better than average PF. Staff was alright. Answered my questions and smiled.

Terrible management of personnel, very unclean. There will typically be 3 "staff" on their phones or chatting and 1 poor staff cleaning. Those behind the desk make the experience worse, since they have no interest for customer engagement and no interest in the facility. Clearly this gym lacks leadership, coaching, and funding. Employees that don't clique with the new (terrible) management disappear. I have traveled to many PF, and worked out at many gyms, this one is dying.

I go to this facility at 0500 and it's perfect, because of it's location and I can get in a good workout before I have to get to work.. my only drawback with this facility is the cleanliness .. the mirrors haven't been wiped down in ages.. and the Men's shower area is horrendous! It's 0500 why are the trash cans full, and the showers.. OMG enter at your own risk! .. the picture was taken yesterday 03/06/2024 and there's toilet paper and little droppings of I don't know what.. I'm seriously looking at cancelling my membership, and going with Chuze, It won't be as close to my work as I'd like, but I would like to not gag when I open the shower to get ready! Management needs to get on staff to make keep this place clean!

Huge workout facility with many machines for lifting, pulling, pushing. Treadmills and ellipticals pointed to a long bank of televisions tuned in to various channels to keep you entertained while you're moving in place. Thirty minute circuit was roomy and everything worked. All of that, great!

Where we're let down today was the locker room. Paper on the floor, small and dirty showers, trash here and there. This was a 4pm on a Saturday and the place was not at all busy.

Traveler here, and It’s very unfortunate I ended up at this planet fitness. First cons, then explanation. 1) no soap holders in showers 2) no stretching area 3) no mirrors in the designated changing “room”, or shelves for products. 4) this gym is so tiny and cramped, probably the tiniest most uncomfortably cramped planet fitness I’ve ever been to. 5) tiny locker rooms. I’ve been to hundreds of planet fitnesses over the three years I’ve been traveling the US, so there’s always a couple things I look for when going into a planet fitness to decide whether or not I want to book mark it for next time I’m coming through. This planet fitness had nothing on my list that would qualify it for even the bare minimum of a good gym. Never returning, this gym is a joke.

I called to try and figure something out about my account but the phone automatically went to an automated message saying to call back during store hours when they were open. The message began to repeat the store hours saying that they are open 7-7 on both Saturday's and Sunday's. What a shame the people that are in charge of this gym seem like a bunch of bums and I will be cancelling my membership as soon as I can and switching to the much better and much friendlier Planet fitness in Colorado springs. If I could I would give this gyms customer service a zero star rating but unfortunately you have to give at least one star. My brain hurts from trying to comprehend how the gym isn't "open" yet the automated message says that their store hours are 7-7 on the weekends. It's a real shame.

I used to love this gym when I went in another state and lost 50 pounds busting out workouts, but this one isn’t that friendly. idk what it is, but people seem to gawk, even the employees sitting around gossiping and on their phones with trash piled up in the back and dirty bathrooms. The price is right. Planet Fitness is known as the gym for people that don't like gyms but they have a lot of locations, so when I travel I can still work out.
They could get another star just for having one free form bench but then the gym would actually allow people to pump their chests up correctly without injury and they can't have that. The "Judgement Free Zone" is great for inconsiderate or weak people that never finish work outs and put the plates back after using the smith machines or use a weight they can actually handle and always slam weights. Not so great for self respecting decent people.

I’ve been to most of the Planet Fitnesses in Albuquerque and I have to say this one is the best by a long shot. It’s got plenty of room so everything isn’t scrunched together and it’s always clean. I'm a black card member because I travel the country. I get the benefit of seeing and comparing Planet Fitness across the nation.
This particular location seems to be an older Planet Fitness. Many of the machines are first or second generation, but in good working order. The staff and management are lovely! This is the first Planet Fitness I have been to where the Black Card section is not a separate area and very limited. Unique for sure, but I don't think it's my cup of tea and the reason I rated it 4 stars .

I have been really excited about getting back into the gym after being away for so long due to the pandemic. However, the club doesn’t seem to take the mask mandate very seriously. Most members mask up, but there are too many people not wearing masks at all or only on their chins. Last time, I asked staff to remind people, but tonight the staff wasn’t even wearing a mask.

I don’t think it would be difficult to make periodic announcements or take a few minutes to walk the club and remind people of the mask policy.

As happy as I am to be back at the gym, I won’t be able to keep my membership if the mask policy isn’t enforced.

An associate named " Brian" is extremely rude.. He assisted others and ignored me and my daughter while at desk. Brian held the scanner for others, when my daughter needed the scan he would stare and not pick it up for her. They need to replace that associate. He is a bad look for the company.
