I’ve been wanting to write this review for a while, and with November being a month focused on gratitude, it felt like the perfect time to share my appreciation for Leila, the manager at Planet Fitness.

Every time I walk into this gym, there’s a sense of calm, order, and genuine welcome and that atmosphere reflects the consistency and care that Leila brings into her role each day.

Leila isn’t stationed at a desk. She’s present, attentive, and always moving with intention. She balances her time so well, supporting members, keeping things organized, and ensuring the gym runs smoothly. One thing I truly admire is how she anticipates what people might need before they even ask, creating an environment that feels well-managed and thoughtfully maintained. Her pride in her work shows in the small details and in the overall flow of the space.

I also want to acknowledge the staff who help with the day-to-day operations. Their efforts contribute to the overall experience, and I appreciate the support they provide alongside Leila’s leadership.

It has been a nightmare trying to get out of my membership. I was 3 times charged for anual feels double charged for monthly fees and hot with a late fee for indiscrepencies on their end. Im currently working with BBB to resolve my issue. Buyer beware they deal with a "3rd party" billing department and getting any compensation back is impossible. Save the headache go to define or chuze.

They approached me in a very mean way telling me we don't allow our members to take of their shoes, while I was using the treadmill wearing socks because it was hot inside, I've been a member for five years and my wife, I'm going to start to look for another respected gym with more freedom.

If the average PF is 3 stars, this one deserves a 2 star rating. The restrooms are horrible. The manager says or does something misleading employees and won't take responsibility when her hirer ups tell her it is wrong. I know of three completely unrelated people she wrote up or verbally blamed. They are short staffed, and I'm pretty sure this is why.

By far the most ghetto feeling PF in ABQ that I’ve been to. Not a lot of equipment, mainly just treadmills and ellipticals. The weight part of the gym doesn’t have much, I found myself having to wait for a lot of machinery. And I arrived outside of peak hours. (7-8:30 PM)
It’s a huge facility too!
The bathrooms / locker rooms is extremely cramped and small. The showers did not look appealing to use at all. And I love a good post-workout rinse off before driving home! So I didn’t even bother. I’d feel uncomfortable stepping in there even with my shower shoes on.
The BlackCard spa perks are GHETTO here! Hahaha! The massage chairs are separated with little cloth dividers in the middle of gym floor. The
Hydro massage is… nowhere to be found? And the tanning booths are also on the gym floor, covered stalls with cloth curtains..

Nonetheless, I won’t be visiting this location again! Lol but if you don’t care about the esthetics and just want to use the treadmill, stair stepper, or elliptical, then this location is fine.

Best Planet Fitness I've visited... and I visit quite a few around the country. Facility was clean and well maintained and staff were very pleasant.

Workout stations are grouped in logical arrangement and there is separation between different focus areas. I have visited many "one giant room" workout locations and never understood why I didn't enjoy my visit more. All the activity in one giant room is overwhelming! This location, with the separation between different focus areas, was so much calmer and more enjoyable. I love this layout and hope it will be adopted elsewhere. I really appreciate Planet Fitness for the availability when I travel and the value of their service. My sincere thanks-Chris

I started going to this gym back in July of this year.
Horrible management, the whole time I was going to this gym I was constantly being harassed by lelia and Mike.
Constantly being bothered about the most ridiculous things like; being on the phone, taking my shoes off to do calves, or even accidentally dropping weights. You can't train here without being harassed or bothered for the dumbest complaints.
The bathrooms are always a mess and always smell like piss, the locker rooms are just as big of a mess last time I was there there was a milkshake spilt on the floor and none of the workers picked it up?? There's cat or dog hair all over the floors? The dust? It's disgusting I'm not sure what the workers are doing but half the time they're just standing around.
I highly recommend if you're a regular gym go-er to seek another gym in the area! Don't waste your time.
I should add in here l've lived all over New Mexico, and have been to many different planet fitnesses, this one was by far the WORST.

Best locations in abq will drive extra 10 minutes to go here over closest location usually. I have been
to, well over 20 locations throughout the USA. I use PF cause I travel all the time. This location is always clean and all the equipment is kept up and working. Lot of the locations the equipment is abused and machines are down for months at a time.

The first time I went in the woman was rude and irritated with me for no reason. I called today for some information and, AGAIN, the woman. Who answered was rude and was acting irritated to have to answer my questions. Doesn't make this gym a welcoming place at all. This person obviously does not like her job. I was super friendly and cordial and respectful on the phone and in person. She is one of the main reasons why I will not be using Planet Fitness. I like going to this location because it is close to my house. The gym itself is great, but the restrooms ans showers can use some tending to. Mildew on the shower curtains, I have seen the staff scrubbing the sinks with paper towels. It's in a nice location but there is no up keep. I understand people can be petty and not pick up after themselves. Plus, when are you going to be 24hrs again?

My daughter got a membership here and within a month her car was stolen from the parking lot. Attendants don’t pay attention to who is signing in and don’t care if the pass matches the picture on file.
Management (GM Mario Otero) took forever to get back with us following up with the auto theft and said they could only turn over the surveillance video if contacted by the police.
APD auto theft division finally got ahold of PF management to investigate whether they could obtain the footage to corroborate whether or not it was a local car thief (Angelica Silva) with an MO for stealing cars from gyms. Guess what? No footage was available. It had been too long according to Planet Fitness. Detective from APD said it’s pretty typical of business like this to lose or not save video footage of such an incident.
I cannot say this loud enough. They don’t care about you, your family, safety or protecting customers. A friend in the county police said Planet Fitness is notorious for auto theft over many years and rarely is helpful in bringing justice to perpetrators.
Take your money and membership elsewhere. It’s worth whatever extra cost. It’s not worth the cheap membership to compromise your safety and property. Next time it could be you that is the victim of crime on Planet Fitness property.

I was a member and then canceled because I could sign up through health insurance. Laila helped me do that transition. When I did this, I called for information to 2 clubs. (Alameda and Montgomery). I couldn’t get much help by telephone as they weren’t familiar with the transition of the health plan. So, I went in person to do this. Laila was very knowledgeable and walked me through the process. While helping me, someone had a minor medical need that she juggled as well. She’s great and should be noticed for her customer service.

I’m from out of town and been here a few times, this past visit, I had an interaction at the front desk with a gentleman, wasn’t my first rodeo, was clocking in with the phone app…silly me forgot to actually hit the check in button on my phone, as soon as I realized my mistake, this gentleman who I think was maybe the Assistant Front Desk Clerk, corrected me as if I didn’t realize my mistake in a very condescending way, then followed it up with “have a great workout boss.” Afterwards I just kept my mouth shut, the 2 Ladies up front were very kind tho. Through out my few hours there I noticed this guy sitting on the front desk counter Spread Eagle, very professional and kept talking about how much money he invested in Bitcoin crypto and that he’s a millionaire, but he forgot his crypto account password and doesn’t have access to the funds.My best way I can describe this Kind gentleman if you encounter him here is if Sean McVay without the clipboard or Coach whistle 😗 worked at planet fitness as a front desk receptionist instead of the LA Rams.

Pros- very clean, staff is friendly and knowledgeable, equipment is well-maintained, shower and locker rooms were clean. The shower I used had excellent water pressure, a wand for spot washing, and the water temp was perfect! The dressing area has a plug and mirror so I was able to dry my hair in the dressing room.
Cons- There is not a Black Card Spa area like in other PF’s. They have the amenities but no horizontal (lay down) tanning beds. There is only 1 hydro massage table (and it was the flat style), and the massage chairs felt old/worn-out. It was kind of strange that the massage chairs used a token, like the kind you used to find at the mall.
There was an out-of-order shower, and the working shower did not have a light in it. The robe hook was hanging on with one very loose screw.

I love being a PF member and the I’m usually very impressed by the gyms in this franchise. This one was nice but didn’t seem to be up to PF standards.

Got to give the 2 women in the Planet Fitness a round of applause!! I came in as a guest and I walked into the women’s restroom to find these 2 hands and knees scrubbing the showers!! I mean they looked like they pulled out all the equipment! I asked for their names and they said Selina and K. Thank you 2 for caring about the cleanliness of your gym! The restroom is chefs kiss, top notch! 10 out of 10 would recommend these 2 for a raise! Only downfall is how hot is in this club. Fix the heat and I’d recommend this club to all!!

Changing my rating from 5 to 1 star.

The air conditioning in this gym has been broken for more than a month so we have not been using the gym much. It was suggested by the staff to leave a review on the planet fitness website, which I did requesting to be contacted and I never was.

However, the main factor in changing my review was being blatantly lied to.
This morning I decided to call to see if the air conditioning was working before wasting time driving up there. I was told on the phone “i think so and we have big fans up here now.”
Huge lie, it wasn’t fixed, and one small floor fan does not suffice.
I don’t understand why it’s so hard to tell the truth.

Pretty good for a Planet Fitness! This location is on the smaller side for a PF but they have a ton of cardio equipment and it's nicely separated from the free weights and strength equipment. Their dumbells go up to 75 lbs (some PFs only go to 60) which is nice if you need heavier weights.

Plenty of cables and lots of strength machines. I visited on a Sunday evening and it was dead (love it!) But then again on Monday evening and it was pretty packed. Typical for most locations. Only thing that I wish they had is a proper Power Tower with a non-assisted pull up bar. Bonus points for having ARC trainers in the cardio section, many clubs stopped carrying them but they are an underrated way to get a great cardio session in a short amount of time.

This is a clean gym and it’s not very busy, but when it is ladies be aware of mysoginistc Weasel like men that stare you down until you get off the smith machine and then when you confront them about it they try and gaslight you. I loved this gym but when I reported this issue to management they said I had no proof and nothing would be done about the issue. Oh yeah and if you’re wondering if the guy got talked too, he did and denied the entire encounter. In fact the manager Chris told me the best thing to do would be to “stand up for myself and say something back.” I hope that man gets fired. He was completely useless in this situation.

I went to this location once but there was a problem with my payment and this guy named "CHRIS BARBIERE" a tall dude with black shirt I think he was a manager, but yea he was so RUDE to me in front of my friends asking for my payment, I would have a yelling match with him but I was with my friends and just wanted to workout so I ignored it. I was trying to talk and ask questions and he keep on responding with "NOPE NOPE NOPE" in a high tone of voice like can you let me talk? if his a manager of this location or something planet fitness has to do something about it coz people like him will ruin peoples day.

Anyways clean and friendly staff . The facility needs tint on the east side windows though. The sun comes on and roasts you while on cardio equipment. BADLY!

In response to your response, it's not my job to tell "your employees" how to spend $ to Mahe the facilities better. I left a review, that should be enough.

Horrible! Very unorganized! Punctuality non-existant! In this day and age we the customer are given poor service and must decide whether to accept it as it is or cancel. Big business no longer cares! I am cancelling my account at Planet Fitness.

My partner and I were unable to go to the gym for the past week due to an exposure to Covid, and tonight we finally returned...only to find that the gym is now closing at 11 pm, rather than the usual 24 hours open for 4 days out of the week. My work schedule does not allow me to go to the gym in the morning, the earliest I can get in is 11 pm. This is the first time in my life that I have felt comfortable enough to consistently make it into a gym to work out. I am so incredibly disappointed and saddened by this, this was pretty much the only gym that is super close to my house that's open 24 hours. Is this temporary, or is this just yet another example of people who work night shifts getting the shaft? So, so disappointing.
