Planet fitness in Los Lunas is awesome. All of the people that work. There are courteous and helpful the manager Mario keeps the place super clean and well run always greeting people with a smile making you feel welcome.. I would recommend this club to anyone if you want to get a good workout in a clean positive environment with friendly staff.5 stars👍👍⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A week ago I went on to cancel my husbands membership as he is ill and can not use the gym. This weekend I was charged $36.28. I called and person couldn’t do anything as I needed to speak to manager. I went today and they had cancelled my account and not my husbands. Why the charge of 36.28 ? Not even monthly membership amount? Also I most definitely gave my husbands info , why would I want to cancel my account as it is free. They have done this in past to charge a person any amount for cancelling. I have yet to receive email that it is cancelled so will go again tomorrow to ensure it is done so I don’t get charged more. I will never sign up with planet fitness ever again. They don’t even how to do there job adequately, poor customer service .

Most of the time the hot water barely works to shower, the locker rooms are nasty and they definitely don't even abide by their own no jeans no tanks etc etc rules!! And if you look at the machines they are nasty on the bottom SO much dust people and animal hair! Otherwise it's a good spot, staff are friendly.

Very concerned about the constant complaints on the cleanliness and air quality in your facilities. Although I can appreciate the staffing attempts to keep facilities up to par but, the lack of upkeep solutions solely falls on management! I see the many poor reviews from concerned members including myself falling on deaf ears! The personnel responsible in responding to complaints are simply dictating and requesting the complaining party take there complaints one step further and report there concerns to one more Location as recommended by the responding party of these bad reviews! This should not be the responsibility of the member! It should be read by the CEO, or operator of said locations. The regional manager should be held responsible and demoted accordingly as these concerns from members continue to not be heard nor resolved! It’s a shame that a 1.8 billion dollar earning company per year or quarterly can’t pay their employees accordingly to keep facilities, cleanliness, qualities, greater than 1 star! Wow! Shame on you guys! I have asthma and am very upset that I have to jump through so many hoops just to cancel my membership!

It's gone down so bad. It's so dirty and not sanitary whatsoever. I have been hoping they will clean the red light room after the same dust there for a year. Since the new upgrades on equipment my experience has declined. Some of my favorite equipment is no longer available and the new equipment is made for taller people. The self-adjusting leg curl machines do not adjust very well. The machines with manual adjustment were much better. I also find myself on my tippy toes just to reach the floorboard on most machines. The hip abductor and adductor machines are not very well equipped for shorter people, even with all the fancy additions the old equipment worked much better for my body type. The placement of the pads on the new machine is more towards my knees and less towards my thighs so it makes it hard to abduct/adduct.
A lot of the newer leg machines just feel very awkward. I miss my old equipment.
Also, I wish weekends were open 24 hours as they used to be.

Worst location I’ve been to in New Mexico.

I haven’t black card membership because I drive all over NM for work and never know where I’ll be. Wide range of quality and layouts for all locations, but that’s no problem. I’ve used several in Albuquerque and the one in Santa Fe, and nothing has ever inspired me to leave a review. I’ll leave them good reviews now. This one has a number of problems:
*More showers than dressing spaces
*1st shower I almost used had a shower curtain strip that couldn’t reach both sides of the opening, second one had no hot water. I opted for a cold shower with privacy. I normally let staff know when there’s no hot water, but this location has a list so I suspect the staff isn’t allowed to fix much of anything.
*Empty soap dispensers, again no big deal usually, but just one more thing on the list
*Table and chairs set up directly behind the ellipticals- on 3 different occasions during my one visit here, there were old men sitting in the chairs, watching women on the ellipticals from behind.
*plenty of yoga/stretch mats was a relief to find, unfortunately no where near sufficient floor space for using them unless you’re the only one.
*so much equipment is old enough, or just not maintained, that several machines have several plates missing their weight numbers, so you have to locate whatever’s left, see if the patter is by 10s, 15s, or 20s, then count to see what the unlabeled weights are
*only location I’ve seen such damaged seats not replaced on the weight machines.

Hopefully this location is next in line for one of the remodels. For now I’ll wait until I’m back up in ABQ before I hit the gym.

My low rating is for the facility only.

Equipment needs to be repaired and resurfaced, many seats and benches are torn and full of holes. Some of the machines rock back and forth like they're on an uneven surface. Staff not as friendly as the other locations. The curl machine has been out of order for 3 weeks now.

Hands down the nastiest restrooms and showers I've ever seen.. 🤢 i travel to Texas, Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and never seen restrooms and showers that nasty... dust hanging off the vents in the locker room... the weight room looked clean , but the locker room 🤢🤢🤢🤢 Im surprised nobody has complained about getting a staph infection

****EDIT AGAIN*** a year and two days.
Well it's that time of year...as soon as school gets out the place turns from being acceptable to total shit show.
As of 5/23/25 the showers are nothing but cold...it's an annual happening!!
4 people at the desk can't get off their phones long enough to even give people a heads up...or bother postings a sign...letting people know so they don't waste their time, but plenty of excuses to go around....should have been the cleanest cold shower ever...but🤔🤔🤔
So again it's claimed to be fixable in the coming week....I'll hold my breath because of the drain stank but not holding expectations very high as this seems to become a routine at this facility....and I'll just keep extending the review!

Looks like a little pressure gets the work done...much better, not perfect, but functioning!

Last year there were major problems with machines and the showers on both sides....looks like we get to have that again this year.
Previous manager was at least explanatory and honest about the problems, the current management, and the nose in phone employees seem to have no idea.
5/21/23....only one of four showers working on the men's side, not being kept...drains smell horrid .
Spent 7weeks having to drive to ABQ last year before they cleaned it up and had working equipment, but I'd expect this year to be worse. The staff when asked is oblivious to the situation.
Kinda sad, but maybe a quality call to the national HQ will motivate them.

There are a lot of people here compared to the one in the south valley. It’s not their fault but the parking is pretty competitive and a lot of the equipment smells like arm pits :/

SCAM! Club refuses to cancel membership. The phone directory always states the office is closed. Staff admitted this is a scam to complicate cancellation. I have called dozens of times and physically visited begging them to cancel but always am told an excuse that manager is not available or system is down so they cannot process. They sure deduct the monthly dues just fine. Planet Fitness is a lying fraudulent company. Choose any other gym.

I love this place -- the staff, the other members, the building - there is always enough room even when it's "crowded"!! The staff and members are gracious and helpful. They'll outright steal money, had two different memberships that I removed an account from just for them to illegally go back and pull up the old bank and re-add it after the manager guaranteed it was removed from the system. Canceling your membership also does nothing as when the next payment is due and they see your account is inactive. Not only will they just reactivate it. They'll charge a "new member" fee which is them admitting the account was closed.

I have never been part of a gym and I’m 54 just wanting to explore my options. I have been a member here for about 2 months, I usually just use the treadmill, thought I would explore my options. I was using the inner thigh machine not sure what proper name is but one of the employees approached me and told me I was making too much noise that he could here the machine all the way in the front. Wow I thought aren’t machines supposed to be loud. I was really surprised by this and left me shocked… I may not continue my membership if there is a noise ordinance…

Not a fan, but also not a customer (disclaimer). Tried to manage an account we had once set up for an elderly relative over the phone. Even though there wasn't anything to manage, I couldn't even find someone to help me over the phone, look up account details, etc. They were too worried about "cancel in person only" which would have been impossible in this situation. I realize many gyms have this policy, so they can entrap you on the way out, but sometimes they could actually help if they wanted to. So really this is a review of the public facing phone support, not the facility.

Wish 0 stars was an option. I’ve been in the area for the last few months for work and I’m just appalled at how hot this gym is. The thermostat in the locker room read over 100 degrees multiple times. I don’t feel safe to use the bathroom here since it’s so hot!!

I tried tanning several times here and it was extremely hot and uncomfy, on several occasions I had to end the tanning early since I felt like I was suffocating. Upon going back into the lobby I felt like I had walked into an area where I could actually breathe and feel some airflow.

As described in another review, the vents are disgusting and I’ve never seen anyone cleaning this gym. I’ve brought it to the staffs attention several times and they just say “hopefully they fix the ac”. I’ve tried to contact the “corporate” and haven’t heard anything. I will be cancelling my membership as it is not healthy to be working out in such a hot gym. I understand that it’ll be hotter in a gym, but it feels like it’s in the 80s in this inferno. I will also be contacting the health department bc this is just unacceptable. Don’t recommend this gym at all

They're crowd meter on the app is inaccurate. I go every time it's slow which is two which is the highest that I've ever seen it and there's no parking lot parking people are parking on the street and across the street and inside is crowded. They're up has never went beyond the four marks or halfways. And the little sticks to adjust the machines are not functional because they're missing the part that you could handle them so you're not able to adjust the seat it's just a stick. There's no weight scale to calculate BMI like other gyms I've been too. No maintenance in restrooms. Not worth it

update: staff was made aware of this several times over the year. . they advised me that management was aware and was not interested in doing anything. pictures will follow. they were more interested in spending money on a new sign outside and a new clock inside. based on response changed to1 star from 2.

It is not very clean. if you look at the floor around the machines there are always dust bunnies. if the vents were cleaned that might improve. the vents are gross. look at the vents in the stretching room. the walls next to them are covered with dirt and lint. same in hip room and 30-minute room. I can't imagine how bad it must be in black card spa rooms. the large intake vents in the big room are just about plugged from all the lint and dirt on them. the only part I see getting cleaned are paths in between machines. seriously get a vacuum. if I had respiratory issues I probably would have had to stop going here. I do not care for the controls on the matrix treadmills. the emergency shut off is too easy to hit inadvertently. "handlebar" in front is too busy.
But it is close and inexpensive. it is after all a gym, i don't use the locker room and I don't go there to planning on eating.

You know I went INTO the club where I signed up, Los Lunas, Nm. I WENT IN PERSON, SO I COULD SIGN FOR CANCELLATION. I had been going close to two years/BLACK CARD. When I signed up (Mar.22, 2021) I also signed and allowed them to take monthly dues ($25.08) straight from my checking account/on the 17th of each month. I had been a member for over a year so there was no cancellation fee.

Anyway, I went in IN PERSON TO CANCEL on Dec.9 2022. One worker said you still can come in the rest of December. Another. worker (new on job) said,… “No…..tomorrow is the 10th, our cut off date.” Super confusing, but ask for a print out showing I'm cancelled. They said printer was not working ??????? Big business & printer not working? They did say I would receive an email.

I did receive an email that stated “PENDING CANCEL.” Request date December 17, 2022 & this was Dec. 9th, 2022. I Was expecting to see CANCELED/DEC.09, 2022. This was even more confusing. My smart phone still had the app. Showed account still open and flashing to…sIgN. iN./CHECK IN. My account stated next payment due "January 22, 2023." If it is cancelled there should be no "Next Payment."

My first thought was their trying to trick the customer to sign in which would BLOW away the cancellation. I have been dealing with businesses a long time and not use to such confusion. To me “pending cancel” is not the same as “Cancelled.” Is there a difference in “DEAD,” and. “Peanding DEATH?” ?

I did go back in and talk with a female desk person. At first she tried to stop me from talking so she could talk. I explained the Cancellation and the "Facility calling it Pending Cancel." She kept saying it was the same thing as cancel. I said for ME, it was NOT the same thing. I again ask for a Print Out showing I was cancelled, and she said the printer was "not working." She also said I could still workout until Jan. 2023, BUT when another person was looking at the computer she changed it, and said last day Dec.10th, 2022.
After a lot of back and forth, she said she was going to call the Police. I said "Great, call the Police, I will wait." She did NOT call the police and became Irate, I think at herself.

It wasn't till Dec 23, 2022 that my phone app no longer allowed me to sign in OR check in. I check my bank account all the time to see if they withdraw after PENDING CANCEL.

5 stars because you offer great value for the price, is a clean facility and hours are also great. My only complaint is that I mostly use the 30min express and many other gym members go in and just sit on the machines without moving every 30 seconds and don't give priority to those on the 30min H.I.T. program. I've had to confront 5 people within 3 months and that's even after working around them to the existent possible.

The options available to work out with are good but paying for a black membership and having half the men's bathroom not available for use because it's broken or dirty is ridiculous. Hand sanitizers are always out or out of batteries. Half the showers are broken or dirty. The bathroom stall doesn't lock and sinks don't work. Not to mention broken massage chairs and tanning beds. The biggest change came when management changed.

Lanie (forgive me if I didn't spell that correctly) is a Jewel. I was feeling down this morning. She lifted my Spirit and gave me the motivation I needed to get it done. Nice gym but they should open up a second location on the opposite end of Los Lunas, it’s gotten a lot more crowded these days, and well the parking lot is a little small for the amount of people that go there. Overall nice gym and staff, just gotten way more crowded in the last year.

Great gym has everything you could need benches dumbbells, smith machines, treadmills lots of other cable assisted equipment a space for pull ups and medicine balls , a side dedicated to legs and arms. Staff is polite and helpful restrooms and gym are always clean. There is a locker room and shower. At peak hours it could be hard to get equipment so be aware ahead of time.

Be realistic, gym is to small for the amount of people to sit at the machines just to have conversations. I come to work out not to have a conversation while someone waiting to use the machine or dumbbells. Lower rating if I could give one.

I'm happy with this gym...BUT...there is a family in Los Lunas in need and PF stepped up to help out by placing a selection of candy bars, $2.00 each near the front counter. I went to my car, got my wallet and came back to help out, like I need 3 chocolate bars after just working out...sorta defeats the purpose...so I choose my three, go to the counter to pay and the three presumably high school graduates stand there scratching their heads because they did not know what to do. Who is in charge here that authorizes such a display of good community then doesn't bother to TRAIN the employees to make a simple transaction? In the words of an incompetent leader "Come on, Man"...

Great gym plenty of machines to get the work done you wanting to do, tho avoid the 5to630 hour it is pretty busy by then with groups of kids rotating in kine for a machine or just taking up space on there phones not using the machines or bench

Everyone in the weight area is working out on top of each other. Maybe make some space so people can actually exercise without injuring each other.

Very decent sized gym with a variety of equipment and running machines. Equipment is cleaned by both customers and employees. Locker rooms are very large with well secured lockers. Showers are clean and give you privacy.

I have been going here for over a year and really enjoy it. The staff is very personable and they keep the place nice and clean. I like how everyone is made to feel welcome and there's people of all ages here. Like their slogan says they're a "No Judgment zone" and I highly recommend this business!
