I enjoy coming to this gym but the cleanliness needs a huge improvement. The bathrooms and gym itself are incredibly filthy especially today and it absolutely needs to be cleaned. The showers at times especially when I go to the gym which is everyday are 90% of the time yellow and the toilets look like they are cleaned after a month or so. Today im not to sure what it was but I was almost postive that feces were spread across the floor and all over the toilet in the mens large stall without being cleaned at all. I do catch majority of machines incredibly dusty and areas almost everywhere are full of dust and dirt everywhere. I love coming to this gym but please address to the staff that it absolutely needs to be cleaned because it is quite disgusting almost everytime I go into the gym.It absolutely needs to be deep cleaned.

Do not approach the front desk for help. The older “trainer” scolded me for wanting to ask a question because he wasn’t working, but yet was behind the desk. I apologized, went to walk away, and he then said “go ahead”. I did ask my question but will NEVER APPROACH HIM AGAIN.

The cleanliness of this gym is horrific, at best, and it appears to just keep getting worse. Almost everytime I walk in now, before 5am, it's atrocious. Half empty water bottles strewn about, pieces of paper towels, weights not put back, and what appears to be dust bunnies the size of a fist. The locker rooms are on another level of filth. Sure the mirrors are relatively clean but that's about it.

This is my first low rating review and the only reason because of the staff. Upon entrance, I was greeted to a front desk member scrolling through TikTok while scanning people in without verifying it’s them. As I was warming up, the music through the overhead speakers were blaring to where I can hear it though my max-volume, noise-cancelling headphones. There was also very little upkeep and maintenance with the equipment where the only thing I’ve seen during my 3 hr workout session are patrons doing equipment wipe downs. Where this gym makes up a star is the gym goers. Every patron is respectful and courteous.

The workers are all awesome. But every time I walk in the locker room bathroom I got to make sure I don't slip and bust my head open because there's water on the floor 24/7. If they just get a bigger shower curtain in there it would keep that from happening but it doesn't seem like the owner really cares about safety.

The gym is where you are supposed to go to relieve stress . However walking into the gym I never been so upset with the short Hispanic girl checking in guests today 9/4/25 around 3:15 pm . If this woman hates her job she needs to quit . I’m assuming the gentleman that is in black shirt is supervisor . Coming from a supervisor I would never allow my staff to treat customers like this . Scummy company, won't let you cancel your account, even in person, they'll "freeze" it, which means in a couple months they'll randomly start taking your money again. No notice, just a reminder never to give money to such a trash establishment.
Even if you said you are moving several hours away from the nearest of their shitty little gyms, they only care about taking your money and will try and set that up, whatever means necessary.

The gym is usually ok, however the staff does not monitor the circuit training area, so I am often waiting on people doing sets. It happens almost every time I am there. I understand having to wait through a green light on occasion, given the need to wipe down the previous machine and adjust the equipment for your body and strength level, but these people are doing 3 and 4 sets, and sometimes it’s two people doing the sets together. I have asked on a few occasions the other patrons if they are almost done so they can take a hint, but they clearly can’t, or they are just straight up rude. One guy who looks like a teen, maybe early 20s, just sits there between his sets on his phone for ridiculously long periods of time. I don’t know why people taking their time with sets aren’t in the weight area, as the circuit training is supposed to be a a quick workout. The rules should be enforced just as they are clearly posted.

This location used to be super friendly a few years ago; you couldn’t walk in or out without a member of the staff saying hello… not anymore. I walked in today and there are 5 employees talking with each other behind the counter and only 1 barely looked up to scan me in, and didn’t say anything. It’s not just today, this location has been like this for a lot of months now.

I won’t be reporting anything to site manager as he was one of the people behind the counter for over an hour with the other employees, engaged in their own personal conversation and not taking to anyone. There seems to be absolutely no proper vacuuming, Swiffer, or dusting of any kind in this location. The floor is filthy at 8am on a Sunday.
Under and around all the benches, equipment, trash cans is a thick layer of dust and debris. Not to mention the crusted disgusting trash cans. I wiped on just to check and it came off black and nasty.
There are literally dust balls on the ground in the functional training area. Which is awful because you get down on the ground in that area. I have pictures to prove but hell, just go look for yourself.

The gym does get humid. It's clearly a converted building for their use. Mostly I'm wondering why the music is blasting. Like blasting. In the locker room you wouldn't be able to hold a conversation without talking loud. It's absurd, especially considering most people wear headphones anyway, why would the music need to be so loud?? Don't waste your time trying to circuit train at this location. Individuals playing on their phones, doing reps, or just sitting around in the circuit room. A previous gym-goer tried to rectify the issue and was disciplined for trying to use the room properly. My gym buddy has already canceled his membership, and after today's inaction, when the issue was discussed again, I will be canceling my membership as well. Plenty of other gym operators are willing to regulate their workout areas.

Got an unauthorized charge on my card called in to get it taken care of and Jason who picked up the phone was being rude as I recall he is always rude to me when I come in and this time not only rude but wouldn't help me with the charge or give me the manager's number or anything he just said call back later I thinking about calling my the attorney general after this if it doesn't get taken care of .update... My husband and I went in to ask a couple questions on how to use his Walmart gym membership perks and not only were the two guys up front in helpful but very rude and when my husband said it was gonna be for him and me which my husband is a thin guy and I am a heavy girl one of the guys as soon as he knew we were together scoffed and turned away from us. The worst « Planet fitness » in the whole USA, we are french, travelling all arround the country for 3 month holiday, and are not able to download the app to identify at entrance, we do have a barcode that has worked in each club we have visited, but here, the guys said that they were not able to look up out of « their town », with a barcode, they were not friendly, not at all, i have asked about a solution to help us, but the owner of the club answered us that it was our problem, and the problem of the club who sold us the member ship. I Said it to them, and i say it again, they are the less proffessional club i have ever seen.

My insurance pays for my membership so I added the black card to support my neighborhood planet fitness but Felix is a con. He's been charging late fees to my credit card since the very first month and when I called the corporate office they had no record of these charges. I went in last month to cancel my account and he is still charging me the membership fee plus late charges. I know people think it's the company and not 1 specific individual but everyone I have spoken with at this location points to Felix. I wish you could leave a review without adding any stars.

Extremely dangerous parking lot. There is a guy in a white Chrysler sedan that’s missing a front bumper and has no license plate on his vehicle. He parks there all day, then he will get out of his vehicle at night with a flashlight and pretend to be a police officer to try and rob you. Be very careful if you are at this location after dark. A polite, friendly staff, not that crowded, and very clean. Unfortunately, the gym was closed for renovations earlier this year. These Renovations ran over two weeks past what was estimated. Now the gym has been without air conditioning for several days as we approach 100° weather. To the owner/manager, please fix this and I will give you five stars.
I live in Albuquerque where there are numerous gym options, but I'm hoping this is an isolated incident.

As a BM card holder, I've enjoyed PF in several countries and numerous states in the USA. However, the Rio Rancho location falls short of the expected cleanliness standards. The bathrooms often smell bad, and the overall maintenance of the common areas is poor. The water fountain is particularly "disgusting," with people drinking and spitting into it. Despite requesting its cleaning three times over two weeks, the employees seem indifferent, giving the impression that good service isn't a priority. Under the benches in the men's room, the dust and dirt are always visible and apparently never cleaned. The hand wash areas are also filthy, with people spitting in them as well.
I wish the managers would focus on the details that elevate a gym from good to great. Unfortunately, as a professional personal trainer on assignment in this city, this is the only gym available to me. I hope someone in management reads this and addresses these issues to show that they genuinely care about their customers' health..

How should I start, one the remodeling was a bad idea. So bad that the old model of planet fitness was WAYYYY better than what we have to deal with now. If I didn't travel so much to planet fitness gyms I would've cancelled my membership here. So I don't have a choice since this is the only gym found in every state in the country. Anyways, there is NO PRIVACY at ALL!! No doors to changing rooms. Barely a shower curtain, because they just decided to remove the one that actually provided privacy. There is only one mirror in one changing room. The floor gets flooded since they removed the extra shower curtain. It's a disappointment for NM. Every other state I have traveled to, have beautiful planet fitness all that offer privacy! So much for wasting and throwing away all that material and destroying the construction of the old planet fitness to waste money on this new remodel that plainly sucks!!!

Location has been renovated. Great place to work out when not crowded. Like every planet fitness, this location has an excess of cardio equipment (most not in use), limited resistance equipment (at times I'm waiting to use). There are times, and I have experienced this at other gyms, that you will have to wait to use a piece if equipment. Not that planet fitness is going to change their equipment format, but I think if they got rid of some of the cardiovascular equipment and put in more resistant equipment, it would make the gym a lot better place to work out. It's the nonbusy hours, days, and staff why I give this place a 4 star rating.

i’m barely starting to go to the gym & for someone that’s NEVER been there before, i was nervous. the staff is really nice. if you need help setting up or using a machine feel free to ask them :) also everyone here is friendly. nobody stares at you with judgment or points you out for being a beginner. you have room to learn & try out the machines without anyone making you uncomfortable. this gym is also walking distance for me which makes it all the more convenient! 10/10 recommend :)

I thought the gym looked better before the interior upgrade recently. They had workers using grinders, when I walked in full of dust and debris, everyone should have had a paint mask that day. Regarding the "renovation"....this is absolutely horrible. The women's showers are unacceptable. The handicap shower is too small to fit an average size chair, there is not a hand wand for showering and the water pressure was barely a sprinkle...totally not usable for even a non handicap person. There is no real dividing dressing rooms, zero privacy, no curtains or seating, no mirrors, shelves or any place for any belongings, just a bare floor...I guess we just stand there and wait for someone to come around the corner and peep on you...just 2 large spaces with no hooks for bags, clothes, etc. The shower stalls still have the old curtains, no soap dispenser and the new wall niches are either sideways are just too small because my shampoos won't even fit. The old dated bathrooms were at least usable. No new gym equipment either...some cheap shower heads, entryway tile and white paint...sadly we will no longer be coming to this Planet...the staff Nikki & JP are the only reasons we will even drop by to say HI. Unacceptable and wasted money!!!

Convenient, located about 1 mile from home. Almost never crowded, always try to go during off-peak hours. Equipment maintenance is pretty good, rarely have a machine down. Always clean and not smelly. Plenty of machines so only have to wait occasionally. The hydro bed is worth the monthly fee, that’s my reward at the end of the workout. I would rate it higher except the place is dirty. Men's locker room is quite disgusting. They seem to rely on the staff to keep the place clean, including the locker rooms, so you know how that's going to go. The staff is great, and if you just want to get a basic work out in, it's good for that.

This evening we arrived at Planet fitness around 8 PM, the trainer Jason stated my male friend wasn't up to the attire of the gym, we've never had an issue about the clothing that we've worn to any planet fitness we've gone too, we also go to defined and they've absolutely never said anything either and he's worn the exact same attire. We've gone to all of the planet fitness locations in Albuquerque and the Rio location multiple times and that was the first time someone has ever mentioned that the tank top that he was wearing was not appropriate for the gym, it showed some skin but why is that never stated when some other people wear some extremely revealing clothing options? As stated on the online website, "Members may exercise in a wide variety of attire. Crop tops, sports bras, bralettes, short shorts, long pants, collared shirts are all welcome!," so, crop tops, bralettes, and sports bras that show the same amount of skin if not more are okay to workout in but not a tank top that has a collar? What exactly was the issue? We came to the planet fitness on Irving and Golf Course right after at 8:18 and I asked what the dress code was and the person who scanned our passes let us know that what we were wearing was completely fine and that it wasn't too revealing. As stated before we have gone to all the locations including the Rio Rancho location more than once and that was the first time it was ever brought up and now receiving the ok from this other location makes absolutely no sense. The way he approached it was rude and not handled well, stating that he "would let it slide this time." As stated in the many other comments below about the trainer, he is aggressive and disrespectful. We won't be coming back to this location.

extremely dirty building bathrooms are always dirty and stink. Exercise machine has not been cleaned in at least 3 years and rude employees the guy name marcus is extremely rude
