Company uses ABC Fitness Solutions and makes cancellation difficult or impossible. Per posted PDF - "Your cancellation will not be processed unless you fill out the proper paperwork at the club.". It's not always possible to be "at the club" when one needs to cancel. My spouse is military and I cannot be "at the club". Almost any other service will provide a simple cancel membership option on your login account. This has been withheld only to make canceling more difficult.

I like that it is 24/7 and it's kept pretty clean. However, improvements can be made. Have a platform in front of the deadlift platform inside of the squat rack to create a half-rack platform. This make the floor at an even height and reduces a tripping hazard. Have more barbell clamps available because I always have to look for them. Replace barbells with ones that have better knurling and weight number on the end caps.

What a terrible company my just turning 18 son started his free trial and possibly membership after a month he decided to move out of the city to college he spoke with management multiple times about the situation we thought they understood.we then today received a debt collection letter for over $800 dollars these is ridiculous to try to ruin a young man's credit who is now in college and can not afford this.
What a crapy way to run a business!!!

Was recently looking at gyms again and stumbled across this money hungry establishment once more. Just wanted to say, all the 1 star reviews complaining about the contracts they have, are legit. The company isn't sorry about they're policies and contracts knowing the hardships it has caused on people. They just say "it's clearly in the contract"... Like yeah "Deny Defend Depose", we get it. That doesn't stop the fact that your contracts make it extremely difficult for people that fall upon financial hardships to stop their contacts. Or for any reason other than a medical reason for that fact. Every gym has policies and requirements/prerequisites for canceling a gym membership. This gym is the only gym out of Defined Fitness, Planet Fitness, Anytime Fitness, Sport and Wellness, and Chuze Fitness that only under circumstances of health or moving out of town , is the absolutely only way to cancel a membership. It is also the only gym out of the ones I've mentioned with contracts that only after a few months of unpaid monthly balances, will cancel you're contract early and bill you for the entire period that the contact was originally signed for. However all the other gyms will keep billing you for each month until you eventually cancel (with just a visit and a signature I may add). With this, not only are you responsible for the months you missed payment, but also for the remaining months you won't be able to attend the gym. In some cases up to 15+ months of paying for monthly gym memberships you'll never have access to(personal experience). Yes, they explain the contract to you, yes all of everything is written in the contract. Yes people are over zealous during New Years and think the requirements for canceling will never be a problem. Yes people are a sucker for $22 a month gym membership. Yes people underestimate the financial hardship that may fall upon them. Yes more than few of the people affected by this contract happened during covid time where jobs were unstable. This company doesn't care about any of that. They only care that they explain a contract to you and that you singed it. Chuze Fitness actually gave people $35 credit for those who wanted to cancel they're membership, to cover the cancellation due to COVID. So it's not unheard of for a Gym/Establishment to show a little heart, given the contracts that were already signed by they're customers. I don't want a response. I've already made up my mind about this place, I've already told many people to stay away from this place. Any response would be an attempt for explanation/defense towards the people reading this review. Gym atmosphere is great, 24/7 access is great, everything about the GYM is great, it's the Ownership and how the business is run, is where this place is lacking.

Has gone downhill over the past couple of years. Weights are always misplaced and people do not take care of this gym properly.

Edit: Reducing rating due to the owner's response. The last thing a good business does is blame the customer. You apologize, rectify the issue, confirm the customer is happy, and then the review gets adjusted. Also, a note for anyone looking to get a membership here: they require a "30 day notice" because apparently it is difficult to cut off key card access and takes a month. Or more likely, they want to squeeze an extra month out of you, but that's just speculation 🤷‍♂️

The gym it self if fine. But they make it incredibly difficult to cancel, the contract they have you sign has alot of loop hole that allow them to keep billing you unless “you have a doctors note saying you can’t work out” or have “moved over 25 miles away”. You have to go in person to cancel and they rarely have a staff member there. They won’t try to contact you just send you to collections. I just got a call for 530 dollars I haven’t used this gym in over 2 years! I would recommend going somewhere nicer and less shady!

This gym is always clean and has plenty of space for you to not feel like you're shoulder to shoulder next to someone. Its quiet and the members are also respectful and there to workout not cause a ruckus or be a gym douche and just take up equipment to be in a large group. The equipment could be better, but nothing that eventually time will improve as needed. Also equipment to hit all the major muscle groups you need.

Wow. My boyfriend and I signed up for the 3 free days online and when we walked in I went to the front desk because I wasn’t sure if we needed to fill anything out. The girl at the front desk just looked at us with disgust and couldn’t even say hi?? When I asked about it she looked annoyed. We walked right out and will never be back.

Called, called and called again. Yes calling during office hrs. Plus left several messages. First trip of many that I have to take this year to Albuquerque. Was looking for a home gym away from home. Just wanted to pay for a drop in pass, visit and get a good workout in. But unfortunately there's no one there professional enough answer the phone and or at least return a phone call if busy. Website looks good and Equipment looks good from the images. But a good Telltale sign the staff doesn't match the quality of the website. Darn Shame!

After having held memberships at various gyms around ABQ, this one is hands down thee BEST for quality, privacy, and also pricing.

It’s quiet, private, clean, and has great equipment. You won’t have to worry about crowds. It’s decently priced and they don’t seem as predatory in comparison to other gyms with aggressive marketing around Albuquerque. Their customer service is really helpful as well if for some reason you need to cancel. Can’t recommend them enough :)

Powerflex is the first gym and hopefully the last gym I ever go to. Never have I ever felt so accepted in an environment full of people. I can get my workouts done without feeling shamed that I can't lift as much as I would like. The receptionists there are wonderful too especially if you're confused on how machines work. This is the best gym ever and I don't regret choosing it as my first choice!

If i could rate this a negative number i would. i had just turned 18 and I was lied to upon signing a contract that i could opt out of the membership anytime with a $50 fee. so about a year passes by and i lose my job due to covid and am unable to pay for a gym membership. i have contacted several times and was denied my request of cancelling as it wasn’t “allowed” in the contract. i have told them multiple times about my situation and also that i was under the impression that i could, because I was told that i could opt out for $50. unwilling to work and negotiate, wouldn’t return calls or emails for a week or two. I will say it was a nice gym, the employees were nice, however the management is greedy and had manipulated me into signing a contract that i am now in debt for.

After doing nothing but cardio workouts all my life I recently joined this gym to challenge myself with a strength training regimen. Not only do I want to see if weight training can change my body but I'm doing this for health reasons too, bone density is important and moving weight is the best way to improve and support it. I am already past the beginning phase and am now looking forward to my workouts. I'm using an app to track and organize my workouts too so there's no guesswork. I'm really glad I found this place

Great place to work out. Different locations for wherever you are in the city, 24/7 access, and they have all the equipment I need. Facility is always clean and the staff is very friendly. The best part about it for me is that its never very busy so I’m never standing around waiting for a turn like you would at commercial gyms.

Me and my sister where on a free week trail and just went to the location and the door was locked and no way to get in. So I wasted my time and gas to go there.
