The staff is allways cleaning , sometimes like right at your feet with the vacuum when you are working out lol , but I'd rather too clean than not clean enough . Especially with how cheap / affordable the prices are no issues with this gym

It's a friendly moderately priced gym. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The place is very clean and kept up. Complaint is the shower for the men's room is tiny. And there's only one of them. I cannot take a shower there ever.

I’m sharing this because the Blonde lady that works for staff at the front desk was extremely rude.

Zero customer service skills.

I don’t know what her problem was. All I did was ask for a key fob and she gave me a ton of attitude. I’ve never dealt with somebody more condescending.

I thought I had updated my phone number with them, but apparently I didn’t but instead of kindly telling me that that didn’t pull up the account for her. She aggressively asked me my name and, “What is the CORRECT number”. Even when I purchased a new key fob and told her thank you, she looked at me like if I was the scum of the Earth with no response. I walked out to avoid telling her anything.

I don’t know if it was a racial issue, how I was dressed (being I look very blue collar) or if she was just having a bad day but either way completely unacceptable when you work for an establishment. I don’t care if you’re the owner! You don’t treat people like that.

You chose to work there if you don’t like your job, quit. Sorry you have to do what you’re PAID to do. If you don’t know how to be pleasant, you shouldn’t be working with people.

I’m probably canceling my membership because of this experience. There’s other 24 hour gyms.

Powerflex is a old school gym with and updated feel. They have the metal plates, but the facility is updated. There is never a huge crowd and the people there are focused on their workouts. Truly judgment free. Great gym!

When I joined, I was told they're open 24/7. However, they're not staffed 24/7, and don't list the hours when staff is present so members can go when the doors will be unlocked and open. To have to buy a key to make sure I can get in doesn't seem very reasonable to me.

The gym is an alright gym. It runs on swam coolers so it can get fairly muggy and there arent enough fans to circulate the air enough.

It's also a little tight in terms of space. The equipment is right on top of each other so even if the gym isn't busy, if someone is working on the equipment next to you, they are only 2-3ft away from your workout space.

The place is way too cramped but worst of all I was actually made really uncomfortable by some of the other members who work out there. I’m just minding my own business and on 3 separate occasions I was actually made fun of by other members! Definitely not a friendly environment! Also they make you sign a contract, the billing is reoccurring and they don’t just cancel your membership if you don’t pay your dues they will actually send it to collections. Not sure if that’s standard for a gym but it caught me by surprise.

Gym is nice and most of the employees are, except for the front desk girl Emily. Signing up w her made me want to ask for another employee. She had a condescending attitude and would cut my words off. Cancelled membership today after considering how unwelcoming she makes being there feel. Also the email she provided to cancel the membership would not work, explained that to her and she just kept asking me “how is it not working?” like I would know, and she did not provide extra complimentary visits. The trial was set for a month as advertised on the website. I ended my trial less than 2 weeks in.

I can not say enough good things about this gym. I'm someone who has always been extremely intimidated by the gym and scared to try anything other than the treadmill and bike. The environment of this gym has given me the confidence to try every machine and even the free weights. I can't wait to continue in my fitness journey and I'm so happy it'll be with Powerflex 💪🏻

Alright, I’m going to try to give and honest review of what I experienced. Take it how you will, because everyone has a different experience.

Before I start, please keep in mind I am a full time grad student, and working full time trying to pay for my own things and budget accordingly. What I recommend the most would be to read the terms and conditions very carefully. I paid for the yearly membership but thought I purchased the non renewal, but according to their records I did not. When asked how I can terminate my contract they told me I needed to either move (25miles) outside of abq or have a doctors note. Then pay the cancellation fee. Usually in contracts you just pay the cancellation fee. Friends, coworkers, and family all agree this was sketchy (my bank included when I mentioned it). My significant other (who is a nationally qualified body builder, and who has worked in multiple gyms) says this is a tactic to take advantage of people like me. So please, read the contract and if it’s electronically I would recommend reading more than once before you sign. After reading other reviews I wasn’t the only one that this happened to.

The gym itself is small, cramped but the equipment is semi up to date and in mostly great condition. Although new equipment would be nice, the overall equipment they offer can get you were you want to go. The bathrooms were always clean, and like many others I have had to wait for multiple machines due to trainers. One incident I had was when one of the trainers either brought their child or trained someone with a child. Asked if she was using both and she said yes, waited close to 25-30mins.

Work staff are very friendly and knowledgeable when it comes to the equipment. However, they might need to be retrained on their terms and policy because when called multiple times for termination of the contract they had no idea of the actual policies in place. Management was rude and unprofessional either it was on the phone or via email. Giving the same attitude multiple people have experienced, according to the other reviewers. I was told I would be sent confirmation of my termination but was charged and never sent the email until I kept emailing them (I wanted proof from them I was terminated).

I’m going to be keeping my eye out for any additional charges because I don’t trust them. That was one of the many reasons I left, why go to a gym I don’t trust?

One star for the great staff (not management) and one for the clean bathrooms and equipment.

I love this gym! Just about everything you could need and equipment you didnt know you needed are available. The people who work at the gym seem excited to be there, enjoy coaching others, and are happy to answer questions with lots of knowledge, even if they aren’t training you directly. I even bought a hoodie and muscle shirt. I think the hoodie is the softest clothing item i own.

However, as I go during after-hours, it’s not uncommon for people to leave their weights. Yet, the other gym rats are very friendly and kind to a gym noob like me, but won’t go out of their way to talk to others or interfere.

My only advice is to add more diagrams to help teach people how to use the equipment or do exercises that might not know how otherwise

Great gym that I can go and workout anytime that I desire. The juiceheads usually come in later in the day. I've never actually seen any one of them workout, just strut and pose in front of the mirrors. Maybe this gym could open up a location with no equipment only furnished with mirrors. Hahaha.

Love the gym, but the negative is the trainer that is always there. I’m not even sure he is the owner. He will take up multiple machines or benches, and kick you off, he will leave weights there to save it for his client. He will ask if he could work his client in with you but his client ends up being the one mostly on the machine. Other than that the gym is fantastic. But because of him I wouldn’t recommend it.

I liked it but it was to small for me. I like the freedom to pace around a bit. Everything was compact, the bench press was right by the window.. God forbid you need to bail on your lift. Everything else was top notch. Dude was nice in the front, equipment is awesome and restrooms are clean and spacious. I went to the San Pedro spot, for sure you can get privacy early around 5 am. I cruised by the other spot on Eubank too many people at 5am. Try the free trial it was worth it

I really enjoy Powerflex because you are able to workout anytime. At certain points throughout the day there are only a handful of people working out and you have free reign with the equipment.

Excellent gym, best one I've worked out at. My favorite part is that it's open 24/7 so I can walk there in the middle of the night if I want.

Lots of equipment to use for a low price. You can do what I did and sign up for a prepaid membership. $200 for 6 months is a great price and works out to a little over a dollar a day, or about $33 a month.

Highly recommend if you're into health and fitness. The other people who work out there are nice, and the staff is helpful.

If I could give zero stars out of five, I would. I was a member for 1.5 years, and decided to start doing more cardio. The belts on all of their treadmills stop while you run because they’re outdated, so I decided to switch gyms. I gave my months notice in September (as required on their month-to-month agreement contract). In November I happened to look through my bank statements and noticed they charged in October. I called and this time they gave me their owner, Dustin’s contact. Never got a response back from him, but later got an email from a embarrassingly unprofessional and rude manager named Sara Tolbert. She sent me a cancellation form this time asking me to provide a “physical signature, not a digital” on the form. So I did so and mailed it out. About a month ago, I noticed they have been charging me ever since. It rounded up to $300 Called left a message about the situation, and never got a call back. Had my bank dispute, and they denied saying they never got it in the mail. I don’t even live here anymore, and it requires a key fob to enter their establishments, so they can see that I haven’t been in one since September. In the end, I called and finally got Sara on the phone. She had attitude and said since the bank gave me back 25% of it, they weren’t giving me anything more. I said enjoy, but that it is unfortunate they run a dishonest operation.

For one; why do they make people cancel a basic month-to-month membership through an email cancelation form. People don’t use email much anymore unless it’s for their business.

Second, it’s clear since they can see that I haven’t entered their establishment through their key fob technology for 7 months, that equaled $300 of month-to-month membership fees. Any honest business, as well as my own, would give the members money they deserve back because ending things on good terms with anybody you do business with will lead to possible future business with possibly the same person and people they tell about the business.

Statistics show that for every poor experience, the guest will go and tell 10 to 15 people, and then some of them will go on telling others. However, for every positive/memorable experience the guest will go and tell 5 people. Just do the math. Then decide if this “low-costing” gym is worth it.

Worst experience and VERY SHADY business. Was a member for over 2 years. Was told when i signed up it was a month to month and i could cancel anytime. Tried to cancel for a few months then go back but was told i have to pay for the following month as well because they need 30 day notice. Thats 2 TWO billing cycles. They Out right lie and and deceive people to get them in then screw them on the way out. ABSOLUTELY DO NOT GO HERE. Many other 24 hour gyms you can go to.

Edit: was told when i signed up that i could cancel when ever i wanted so long as it wasnt last minute. So no it was not clear when signing up. After posting this i was called with a messege from the owner asking me to take this review down. Claiming it was to late to give me a refund but he could give me a free month for compensation. He seemed to have forgotten that i spoke with him 3 months prior and said he would have to charge me with only 12 days notice. Funny how he only cared or lied about a refund AFTER a bad review. There are other even better gyms in town that care about more then peoples wallets and do not demand a 30 day notice then charge you if its 29days.

New to the area. Found this highly rated gym on google maps. Sign up for free trial on their website. Run over a mile to get there. Turned away for not bringing an ID. Don't waste my time for an unstated requirement. Probably a decent gym, but there are others that are just as good AND can effectively communicate their terms: tried out The Open Gym yesterday and had a good experience.
