Ekemba Sooh of Solcore Fitness has enabled my body to recover from three vertebral breaks. The Eldoa method develops more flexibility and works constantly on the body-brain connection to diminish or eliminate pain and discomfort. I highly recommend Ekemba’s respectful and supportive approach to allow your body the best it can be!

About 2 years ago, I was fortunate to see an offer for a free exercise class at SolCore Fitness. I registered and went to a class. I have been going ever since, 3 days a week, and I cannot say enough about it and about Ekemba Soh who is the owner and instructor.
As an instructor, Ekemba guides the class with specific and effective movements that ha given me increased mobility, reduced joint pains, and greatly improved my posture. I feel taller, have greater body awareness, and look leaner. Part of this improvement is because during the entire class, Ekemba walks throughout the space, correcting and watching to make sure you are getting the most out of each exercise by tweaking your specific movements.
As a Physical Therapist, Ekemba is extremely gifted and truly understands how the body works. Recently I developed lower back pain and very bad sciatic issues. After 3 therapy sessions with Ekemba and following up with the exercises that he prescribed, I am no longer in pain.
If you are reading this, my advice is to take on of the free trial classes and see for yourself.

Before you decided to use SolCore Fitness what was your life like and what other services had you tried?
⁃ I was injured 10 years ago at work. Pain and limited activity were a constant companion. I have tried PT, Cranial Sacral, all types of body work massage including Rolfing, Feldenkreis, accupuncture, chiropractic, ergnomic office assessments, yoga classes, and I bought various DVD’s specific to back issues. In 2023 I had spine surgery for sciatica and stenosis. I suspect my back would have been worse sooner without these efforts but, they didn’t fix matters.
* When you were going through that process, what were your struggles or hurdles?
⁃ Activities like gardening, bending, walking, and sitting were severely limited and painful. I had sciatica every day, neuropathy in my shin and foot, walking distance was short and speed was slow. Sitting really locked-up my back and glutes. Standing was more comfortable. Lying prone with ice offered some relief.
* Why did you decide to work with Solcore fitness?
⁃ When Medicare cut off my PT five months after surgery, I was still not ok. I was angry until I realized PT had not helped much anyway. I was praying for direction when I saw an ad for a free SolCore Fitness trial class on Facebook.
• How was the process when you started? Was it easy?
⁃ It was easy to get started. I signed up online. Ekemba Sooh did an assessment of my issues so he knows what is safe to do. I attended the free Saturday group class then signed up for the 2 week trial to give SolCore Fitness a fair test. Ekemba is active in class, hands-on adjusting student postures, and he is very aware of our abilities and injuries. I also signed up for some individual sessions because I was desparate to get better.
• After you started with us and you started getting results, what started happening?
⁃ After six months of classes, I continue to improve. I walk better, I move with more ease, I can sit longer, pain is reduced duration and less frequent, and travel is easier since doing 6 months of classes. I am making progress so I continue with SolCore fitness modality.
* What's your life like now?
- I am very motivated to keep improving my physical health. I am healing physically. My being more active and having less pain is due to SolCore fitness method.

I have known Ekemba, the owner of Solcore Fitness, for gosh…16 years! We worked together in LA, both trainers, and I immediately was impressed about his holistic approach to functional fitness and healthy eating. I learned a lot from him over the years and not only is he a friend but the first person I turn to when I need expert fitness advice.
Recently I hurt my back pretty bad from something so simple, a one armed deadlift with an 8 lb dumbbell. I lost most feeling in my left leg and foot and was basically freaking out. Of course I went to the dr, but also immediately thought of Ekemba who was gracious to offer me his advice.
While I am having an MRI soon, Ekemba taught me a specific type of stretch specifically for the area of my back that was affected. Let me tell you, it helped so much!
Bottom line, I can’t say enough about Solcore Fitness. Everyone can benefit from their approach, young to old. Functional movement is a real thing and as a middle aged woman 😵💫 realize this so very necessary. While I am a friend, this is the honest truth or I wouldn’t write it. Highly recommend.

I am a 68 year old woman who has been going to Solcore for the past 7 years.
Before going to Solcore I did not have much of an exercise routine. I attended Zumba classes for a couple of years that I enjoyed mostly because of the participants and the music. The instructor emphasized the dance aspect and not the exercise component. My niece then convinced me to attend her weight lifting gym which I did for a little over a year. I benefited from the warm up exercises at this gym but did not like the weight lifting. It felt very awkward and unnatural to me. I was also concerned that I was not always doing the exercises or weight lifting correctly and feared either hurting myself or creating bad habits.
I chose Solcore because a friend recommended it and I attended a free class. I appreciated the individual classes and the close observation. In a very short time Ekemba knew where I needed to focus and even noted some structural concerns, such as scoliosis. I did not come into the class with any pre existing problems, that I was aware of, or injuries.
My biggest goal was to create better body awareness and to maintain a good posture. I was aware of many people in my age group who were bent over and I did not want that. I was active and enjoyed hiking and wanted to keep an active lifestyle as long as possible.
Upon starting I felt very welcomed. I was observed closely, corrected as needed and encouraged to do more when appropriate. It is surprisingly difficult doing the stretches and exercises but I seldom feel discouraged. Ekemba encourages us to do more but without any overt competition. I don't feel awkward or upset when I get something “wrong”. Maybe that's what makes it work for me, there are ways to improve but it never feels like you have really done anything wrong.
It is honestly hard to pinpoint one specific result. I attend VERY regularly which tells me that I actually enjoy going. I leave with a feeling of accomplishment and feel overall really good, if occasionally sore. I know my posture is better and I find myself feeling like I'm moving with purpose and mindfulness. During class I find myself really focusing on the exercises. This is required and it is so helpful for my mind as well as my body.
I am still growing older, I still have a stubborn 10-15 pounds that I should probably shed but I feel good about my body and I feel capable of physically doing most activities. I feel strong and I feel flexible and am grateful to have this program.

It was actually my doctor who suggested I try out Solcore Fitness because I was having a lot of pain in my hips.
It had been years since I took an exercise class. I’ve always tried to create my own exercise routine using YouTube for yoga and other classes.
But now I love getting out of the house for an 8:00 am class and I like the community of people that I’ve met there.
It’s also good to know someone is watching and correcting me if I am doing a pose/stretch incorrectly.
I go to class at least 3 days a week and always leave feeling invigorated and ready to start my day.
Solcore Fitness has become a part of my life.
I am a full-time artist and my posture while standing at the easel had previously been a strain. Now I am cognizant of how I stand and hold my body while painting.
Many of the hand and arm exercises in class are helpful as well for my painting hand.

For two decades I maintained a committed Hatha Yoga practice which ultimately led to issues causing severe back pain. I was dealing with this pain for a solid two years before I found SolCore. Given that my yoga practice was at least in part the cause of my problems, I tried everything but yoga to cure it: rolfing, chiropractic, acupuncture, diet modification. It was undoubtedly Ekemba and the SolCore method that finally broke my cycle of looking for something that helped long term. My biggest hurdle was really just finding the right method. The things I tried gave me temporary relief but didn’t provide the lifestyle change- the change of incorporating a truly effective, anatomically aware method- into my daily life. A trusted friend of mine, who had also tried literally every method for their pain, told me Ekemba was the absolute best and urged me to try out SolCore. There is nothing easy about the process, but Ekemba is extremely precise and attentive and there is no room for cheating. It is a fascinating method because it is accessible to everyone- I could see any age and any fitness level benefitting- and at the same time there is always more precision, alignment and growth potential. Nothing worth it is ever “easy” and the more committed to SolCore, and the difficulty of making an effort I have been, the better my body and life is. My back pain eased by a solid 80%. I can’t even express what that feels like because it is so profound. My pain is mostly gone which improved my daily experience by leaps and bounds. It has been difficult to accept that I can’t practice yoga in the same way I once had, but that is a good lesson because I now have a mentor whom I trust and respect 100%. Ekemba is learned, and kind and committed and I know I will never get hurt at SolCore- which should be a given, but with the abundance of methods and teachers out there, it is not.

This is one of the most effective and useful classes I have ever participated in to strengthen my body. Ekemba has developed techniques that work every part of the body from joints to small and large muscle groups, to fascia and nerves. I have been going for a little over a year and have never felt better.

SolCore Fitness Testimonial
Five years ago, I landed at the SolCore Fitness Center on the recommendation of a friend. I was suffering from a chronic knee injury that was very painful and unresponsive to treatment. I met with Ekemba and was introduced to ELDOA. It took a bit of persuasion since none of the previous modalities I tried gave me the result I expected. I agreed to give the training a try and moved forward with the assurance that with commitment and dedication I could attain a level of physical well-being unlike anything I experienced before. Within a month the knee pain diminished significantly and eventually went away. I also discovered that the discipline of working out 3-4 times a week was having a positive impact on my personal and business life. I am more efficient and focused with less mood swings. My body is stronger, my mind is sharp and I am proud to endorse Ekemba. He has set the fitness bar at a level far superior to any other fitness program that I’m aware of. As I enter my 7th decade I can proudly state I have found my fountain of youth. I possess all the energy I need to accomplish whatever tasks I set for myself. Give yourself the gift of a lifetime and become an ELDOA participant today!

Ekemba is awesome. My wife and I are professional classical musicians who work year round in symphony orchestras. We have been training on our instruments for 4 - 6 hours a day for over 30 years, and the wear on our bodies is considerable. Ekemba met us with compassion and an understanding of what we needed to strengthen and align our bodies. When I first came to Solcore my right arm would dangle in the air when I would lie flat on the floor. It hadn't touched the floor in decades. I had tried everything to bring my shoulder back but nothing worked. After only six weeks of doing the ELDOA's, myofascial stretches, and strength training that Ekemba worked on with me, my arm could finally touch the floor. I couldn't believe it! My wife and I have both seen incredible improvements in our posture, flexibility and strength. We went to big gyms, did yoga and tai chi, but nothing we've done comes close to the results we've seen at Solcore. The training is unique and unlike anything out there. It will heal you while making you stronger. Ekemba would be an amazing trainer for anybody of any age. Oh, and did I mention that he is an incredible human being? Can't say enough good things about him and his business. If you are at all curious you should go to him at least once. You won't regret it.

Ekemba Sooh, owner of SolCore Fitness, is a knowledgeable and caring professional who listens to your needs and has helped me to heal and strengthen my body that suffers from arthritis of the spine. His eldoa exercises, although difficult, have opened up space in my spine allowing for better movement, less pain, stronger core and better balance. Sticking with the program is the best gift you can give yourself. Thanks Ekemba!

I’m a 27 year old runner and have had back problems since high school. I’ve been to physical therapy, chiropractors, and tried several other things to combat my pain and posture issues. In just 4 months at Solcore, my posture has improved and my back feels stronger than ever. Tiffany and Ekemba are fantastic! I’m moving out of state but Ekemba even went out of his way to help create a workout plan so I can continue to move forward in my fitness goals. I would highly recommend Solcore Fitness!

My body is a map of injuries and surgeries, aches and pains. As a former athlete who had gained 50lbs I did not see how I could get back onto the road to good health. Until I met Ekemba.
ELDOA and Ekemba changed my trajectory. Working out with Ekemba returned to me confidence in my body, the ability to move without pain and to live life with physical ease.
My husband and I just returned from the hilly, stair packed city of Rome. My husband remarked as we were climbing the Spanish Steps that this would have been a painful climb for me five months ago. I almost took the steps two at a time just because I could.
Thank you Ekemba

The best fitness program in town and the best trainer, Ekemba Sooh! I highly recommend not just to try it, but stay with it for many month and experience for yourself how you body will gradually move out of the "frozen" mode into being "alive and kicking". The program demands consistency, but I was able to take breaks for travel and come back to where I was without falling behind. Ekemba makes hard workouts feel purposeful and joyful.

When I started with Ekemba at SolCore a year and a half ago I was suffering from chronic back pain, constant migraines, and numbness and weakness in my arms and legs. I had tried chiropractics and physical therapy with no improvement. The spine specialist told me that spinal injections were going to be my only pain relief. So I kept searching and was blessed to find SolCore. Thanks to Ekemba and SolCore (and those eldoas!) the numbness and weakness is gone, the chronic pain is under control and I'm back to doing the things I love. Thank you Ekemba and SolCore!

I'm so thankful to be working with Ekemba and Jo! I feel a big difference after just one month of my personal training sessions. I have tried many other approaches for a year and a half including chiropractic, acupuncture, and massage and none of these approaches eased my pain in a sustainable way. Since working with Ekemba and Jo one-on-one, I now wake up with significantly less back pain which is miraculous considering the level of chronic pain I've been experiencing. I feel like I'm getting my life back! I'm happier, more optimistic of my recovery, and more aware of my body than I've been in a long time. For anyone considering working with SolCore, I can tell you that your investment will be worth it!

In just a few weeks I will be celebrating 1 year of training with SolCore Fitness. I began small group classes after meeting and speaking with Ekemba Sooh. This guy was saying things that really got my attention. He knows his stuff and the so-called “rules” of the body. At the time I first met with him and agreed to meet with him for a l to 1 consultation I had been experiencing pain in the hips, lower back, and knees. I was slowing down, losing energy and just over-all feeling imbalanced. I was planning an out of the country group tour and was thinking I may not be able to keep up with the tour group since it would involve a great deal of hiking. So when Ekemba asked what my initial goal would be I told him “I just want to be able to keep up with the upcoming tour group”. I only had 2 months to get ready for the tour. He stated that was a reasonable goal that could be met. The goal was met & I had a great time. I continue to progress and establish new goals for myself. Suffice it to say I now experience progressively less pain in the knee and hip but rarely have any discomfort in the back. With continued coaching from Ekemba and Jo Van Cutsem my balance has improved significantly, my endurance/energy has improved, my posture is visibly improved and I have gained confidence to begin actively participating in other exercise groups, knowing what best benefits my body. I only say this because I had tried other exercise programs that had caused more injury. It’s a wonderful thing when you gain body awareness and understand proper/correct movements. It’s also very empowering when you not only see improvement in your body structure but also truly feel it.

I was looking for some help correcting the way I move to resolve some asymetry I've noticed in my body. I also realized I hunch my shoulders. After 8 months, my posture is better and I'm noticing improvement in my feet. Ekemba and Jo are good teachers- pushing with patience and they have good senses of humor. Totally fascinated by the principle of making space in your spine that drives the exercises and stretching we do. Glad to have found them!

Hi,
My name is Denise Johnson and have just completed a year of training with
SolCore Fitness.
I have spinal stenosis (narrowing of the spinal canal) which impedes
nerve pathways resulting in pain and discomfort. Through
ElLDOA’s and strength training I have learned how to manage my discomfort
quite successfully. In addition I have learned how to increase
strength and flexibility thru proper alignment, focus on technique and
adhering to my homework. I would highly encourage any person who has
chronic pain to look into this remarkable program and get started
towards better health and wellness.

I began training with SoleCor Fitness in a group class one year ago to address chronic pain remaining after several surgeries in the lumbar and cervical regions of my back. Under the tutelage of Ekemba and his staff I have developed muscle and stamina in areas of my body which have been neglected and abused over decades of running, hiking, skiing, coupled with poor posture at home and in the gym. Today my standing, walking, sitting postures and core strength has greatly improved and I’m mostly pain free except on those days I exceed my own limits.

My primary goal for fitness training is to embrace aging with vitality, grace and strength. From waking to slumber, my desire is to feel alive and vibrant as I move throughout each day. I consider myself a pretty physically active human; I began seriously dancing at age 10 and danced professionally until 25. After I stopped dancing I dove into yoga, first as a committed student, then into a yoga teacher, which eventually led to opening and running my own yoga studio in West Los Angeles called the Hub. I developed some serious injuries after years of repetitive, misaligned movement, which were causing daily pain and discomfort in my low back and psoas. The low back injury began in 2009, and I experimented with a wide vareity of different movement and healing modalities to no avail. Basically, my body was experiencing extreme imbalance. I knew it, and yet I wasn't able to pinpoint or correct it. I've spent years searching for help from an intelligent, educated practitioner who could read my body, analyze what was going on and provide me with the appropriate medicine for healing.
And then Bam! Through divine grace, I found Ekemba. It's been 6 months since I started the myofacial stretching-ELDOA exercises. I am a true believer! YES, finally I found something that works and sticks. My back pain is gone as long as I continue to do the stretches, my chronic neck pain is disappearing as I open my cervical spine and strengthen my neck, and my Psoas is finally releasing and healing. Ekemba is the best. I also just started working with Joris and he's knowledgeable, thorough and I enjoy the variety he brings to my private sessions. They never leave me feeling bored or unchallenged.
This is the most conscious intelligent approach to physical fitness I've ever encountered.

The personal trainers at SolCore fitness work the whole body. They have the best focus on chronic pain issues, especially back pain. I was sitting in a meeting. It was about an hour and a half long. Half way through I noticed I was the only person sitting up straight and I was perfectly relaxed. There have been other changes, some more significant than others. I guess the biggest one is my recovery from meniscus surgery. I can get out of my car and climb stairs without pain. My abs and core feel strong and my remember to relax tension in my body throughout the day. I know my muscles have been retrained but I like to call it brain training. I feel smarter.

My massage therapist recommended I talk to Ekemba and see if his program could help with some nasty sciatica pain that had developed several months earlier. From my past experience with physical therapy and exercise for back issues, I had hope that Ekemba would have some encouraging words, and he did. But given my financial circumstances, I had some hesitation about making a three-month commitment of time and especially money. But I did, and I’ve never regretted it.
During those three months, I found my sciatica pain gradually improving, and I felt an overall sense of rejuvenation and accomplishment after each class. Ekemba and Maya are skilled and highly motivational, and I enjoyed the camaraderie with the other class members. When the first month ended and my membership renewed, I didn’t give the cost a second thought; the classes were worth every penny. And as an added bonus, I lost five pounds over the course of the three months.
Travel is keeping me from signing up for another three-month session right now, but I plan to go back. Ekemba did what he thought he could do: help me reduce my pain. And I learned I have more discipline than I imagined—especially as I continue on my own with the specific stretches Ekemba recommended for my situation. The combination of expertise and personal attention he gives all his students is truly priceless.
