Yoga studio Live music venueAbout the Club
Yoga Sala offers yoga, tai chi, qigong, kickboxing, kids ballet, meditation and more. Our classes are held in person; several are also online. We support health through mindful movement and simple meditative practice. We moved into the Sala, our multi-use studio space and our permanent home, in October of 2019. The Sala has been renovated to make it energy efficient, accessible, beautiful, and available for community uses that align with our mission. Our mission is to support a culture of health. We hosts yoga, expressive arts, music and community-based projects. Find us in northern Taos County on the main road through Questa: the south end of the village on the east side of Hwy 522.

We had a very fun time at Retoβs kickboxing class. It has a defensive focus and people of all ages and skill levels were there. Reto is very knowledgeable and experienced and humble, quite and interesting human. Thanks. And if they have eggs for purchase they are good.

Yoga Salad is a magic place. (Somehow the "d" got lost in the name on the road sign in Questa?) I attend Gentle Yoga on Wednesday evenings; this helps to deal with old injuries and abuse. On Saturday morning, I learn Tai Chi to help with balance and controlled movement. Gaea has created a warm, friendly place. See for yourself....

A beautiful and very welcoming place. They have community events in addition to their weekly yoga classes and Tai Chi. Itβs a wonderful business in the Questa community, and also worth the drive from Taos.

Walking into the studio space at La Sala in Questa, NM is to walk into a space of beauty, tranquility and intention. It is a wonderful place to take Yoga or Tai Chi classes and workshops, which are held regularly, but it's also a wonderful place to experience and host cultural events, performances, lectures or films. The smaller multi-purpose room/co-work space or "Yellow Room" that is adjacent to the studio space is also lovely and I love to work there and hold meetings there. The future is bright and varied for La Sala. As a resident of the Questa area, I feel so fortunate to have this evolving, beautiful space in our community! I highly recommend it!

Some small villages no longer have the connections they started out with, and Questa NM was no doubt a vibrant community from the 1840s onward... but when the local economy, based upon mining, crashed, people were devastated. A process of reinvention and an infusion of new energy is now going on in Questa. Just having a place like La Sala, with open doors, inviting neighbors to gather for gentle stretching, for music, for classes, to just be with one another and connect is simple, right? Yes. And along with Cynthia Rael's Market with couches, coffee, local goods to buy, and music jams, Questa's folks are again being seen and heard and are connecting with one another to create community, balm of soul. Gaea and Ethan have resurrected this building that was once a gas station in the 1950s (and it's been many things since then). It's a beautiful space to be in, and as of this writing, they are in Phase I, so it's open for music concerts and classes (Disclaimer: I'm helping put music events on in the space). I'm looking forward to the cafe that's down the road a bit, another way to meet our neighbors and be together with little to no agenda but to taste the honey of connection.
