My son went in asking if the manager can answer some questions about the gym membership for a paper for school and she told one of the workers that no they donβt answer questions like that with out knowing the questions that needed to be asked. The managers name is Melissa and when I went in confused because itβs just a college questionnaire not to follow a trainer where there is liability. I went in and her body language seemed like she didnβt want to be bothered with one of her clients. Melissa only told me she is busy on a conference call with one of her trainers which I understand being in the corporate business myself but when it comes to clients you can exscuse yourself a few seconds and see if we can come back at a better time for her instead of coming out like she was annoyed she had to help someone. I have also brought to her attention about the water in the fountain smelling like chlorine and acted like it wasnβt a big deal itβs impossible for two different water bottles from two different people and both of the persons to smell the same thing. I love the rest of the staff they are great and hard working this location has lost several great staff members do to being unappreciated by managers like Melissa. I have been a member for over 7 years and have children like the one that came in to get his own membership because he is old enough. I was recommending friends and some of my clients to the gym because I like the environment besides the out dated equipment that usually a handful is broken.

Today after 5 years with the club I cancelled my membership, my sister's and my husband's. The reason being is that the facilities are plain DIRTY. Today when I went to take my shower every stall was absolutely full of hair. Yesterday the second stall on the left hand side had traces of BLOOD. Absolutely disgusting. In addition the first shower stall on the left is missing the curtain for several months already.
The lockers do no work or get stuck. One of the dressing stalls have a broken lock for the last 5 years.
THE POOL IS CLOSE FROM 10 AM TO 11 AM TO BE CLEANED WHICH IS VERY INCONVENIENT FOR PEOPLE THAT TRY TO GO TO SWIM, SAUNA OR WHIRLPOOL AT MID MORNING. I KNOW THE AREA NEEDS TO BE CLEANED BUT WHY IN THE MIDDLE OF THE MORNING ??
Somebody needs to step up and take the initiative to make the necessary cosmetic changes needed and make sure that the facility is clean ALL THE TIME.

I went in to see what this gym was like, I got a 3 day pass. They have plenty of machines, and a free weight area; which is not that big. With a some of the cardio machines, have missing handle grips, but they still work. The cable rack in the free weight area is a bit sketchy looking, and they still work. It's not the best looking gym, but itll do if you are a machine type of person.

THE MANAGEMENT IS THE BIGGEST PROBLEM, ALL THE WAY THROUGH TO CORPORATE! ERIC MYERS & ASHLEY LINO ARE THE PROBLEM IN THE BAY SHORE LOCATION. I've called corporate several times and have NEVER received a phone call back as they promised. All of the instructors are ABSOLUTELY AWESOME! I've been a member since it was ballys. I come 6-7 days a week. I've been a supporter & of promoter of this gym for years. I've seen many changes in the management since becoming 24hr fitness. It seems to only get WORSE. Most of the staff are AWESOME. The management is a COMPLETE disgrace. Making rules that are undocumented & to suit their individual self. When asked for evidence of same, I was disrespected & have dealt with complete harassment. The fact that this gym went an entire week without a single paper towel to be found, is ABSOLUTELY disgusting! we were all using equipment riddled with sweat & germs. staph infection runs rampid in gyms. I don't understand how this was even allowed. In the summer months, no air conditioning in the spin & main class room. People would either leave or step out just to not pass out. management was notified numerous times....nothing done! broken stereos, speakers, fans. Yet, they raise membership fees. I really hope upper management steps in to resolve these issues. I've been a long time member, with many gym friends & ABSOLUTELY love the AWESOME instructors. ps- even they get treated like garbage. #disgusted #disappointed #hoping4changeAll of the instructors are ABSOLUTELY AWESOME! Smells funny and the machines are sticky. From the moment I walked in to the back the gym smelled like germs and old sweat. I wanted to have a trainer explain some of their trainings to me but they were too busy speaking with each other. All there shirts they sold were smalls. The sauna was iffy. Didn't try the pool. For my first visit, I was not impressed or happy.

Way over priced, their personal trainers are constantly changing halfway through your sessions. They are very unprofessional, thereβs hardly anyone at the desk. Went in to cancel my membership and they didnβt even have a manager in. The girl at the desk took down my info and said a manager would get back to me. I waited two days and heard nothing so I called back to have it canceled. They charged me the next months dues despite me canceling. I called to have them refund me and again I was told the manager was busy and would call me back. I called membership services to have them refund me and they said they would, but the charge is still on my account. Two weeks later and the manager still hasnβt called me back. Unbelievable they would treat a customer of over a year like that.

Worst gym to go to. The short bald manager is so rude, childish and RACIST. the operations manager had a horrid smell. Itβs literally disrespectful how bad it is. There is Always something wrong with the machine. They donβt use real fruits in their smoothies. The personal trainers are really weird. And on top of it all theyβre extremely over priced! I would not recommend this gym.

24 Hour Fitness is awful. Rude and unprofessional front desk staff, Uncaring and absentee managers both local and regional managers at this Bayshore, NY location. Iβve been a member of 24 Hour Fitness aka Ballys Fitness over 15 years. I recently came into 24 Hour Fitness to pay my membership dues and to work out. This girl front desk staff employee who wore her hair in an Afro style ( describing because she wasnβt wearing a name badge and refused to provide her name when asked) was in a personal conversation with a coworker I asked for help she rolled her eyes at me and spoke to me in a rude, and disrespectful manner. I asked for a manager and to my amazement there was no manager there on staff. The next day I got a call from the regional manager who immediately took the side of the rude front desk customer service rep he never apologized and had no compassion nor concern for how I was treated poorly. I then called the 24 Hour Fitness 800 number and complained to Corporate. Theyβre just as bad. The hold time is 30 minutes and when you speak to a rep to make a complaint they have to get permission via email to transfer you to the resolution team which is another 30 minutes hold time. Nothing was resolved to my satisfaction. 24 Hour Fitness doesnβt care about itβs members particularly those like myself who were grandfathered in from Ballys, in which you pay a much lower rate than newer members.
24 Hour Fitness is so dishonest. When they took over Ballys I received a letter stating my dues and annual fee will remain the same and I will still have access to all locations nation wide. However, they reduced my access to some local gyms and restricted my access from 24 Hour Fitness locations in Manhattan. In addition every year my membership dues increase with no facility improvements what so ever. I did some research on 24 Hour Fitness and they are in trouble as they have closed many locations throughout the Tri state area. They also have a lot of bad reviews on several locations regarding Rude Front Desk Customer Service Employees. I think the closing of some locations has to do with poor treatment as former members are leaving and going to better gyms who value members, respect them and offer more amenities. Like Golds Gym, New York sports club, Blink etc. In any case I am finished with 24 Hour Misfits once and for all.

I play racquetball, workout on weights, go in the "wet world" which is the sauna, Jacuzzi and pool and they have zumba, bicycle classes, aerobics, personal trainers, a juice bar no contract prices...29.99 or with racquetball 39.99...I LOVE IT!!! GREAT HOURS TOO!!!!

Appalling customer service's ever seem for a nice gym!!!!
Receptionist stressed right in the front when customer is asking for information looks like if customer is asking for a favour!!!
Went two times today to register a family member and the receptionist didnt care about telling me the registration works (sales person) UNTIL 6 PM and they both knew I was waiting for.
She told me after the sales person left at what time will your family come because the only one sales person we have had just lefted.....i went there two times could have given me a little care giving me the time available for registrar, but didn't.
I asked her if at least today he could use the gym and registrar when the sales person is here tomorrow and she said no. Didn't even ask me if he has the invitation that he could use the one That he has two because me and my husband are member and my son has our two invitations so my son had to leave as soon he arrived at 6:15 pm.
Unfortunately have no other option. This is the nearest one by my house that my son will have to go.
It has happened before to other person the attention it leaves much to be desired.
Send them to courses of customer service. They are not for free there!

Definitely not worth what I'm paying, just waiting for them to go out of business to go somewhere else. No schedule maintenance on place like carpet cleaning, equipment, repairs on facilities, etc. Don't know why is call 24HRS when doesn't have extended hrs. I am assuming budget is the problem but if they don't invest to bring more new members in, they will end closing down.

This is the most poorly maintained gym I have ever been a member of. The machines are left broken indefinitely. There is always at least one thing closed in the pool room. IE pool, sauna or hot tub. Sauna has been broken for months with missing benches. The water in the shower turns on and off randomly. lol. Has been doing so for over a month. Not worth the money! Run away! You would be better off at Planet Fitness for $10 a month. It's that bad.

I've been going to this gym since before it was taken over by 24 hour fitness. I recently cancelled my membership as I lost interest in going to this gym. Many of the machines are usually broken, and the whole place really needs a good scrub down. Also it is not open 24 hours!
