As kids, careers and life in general have made us busier, I can’t count on my friends or myself to keep me exercising. Enter, 585 Fitness.

I signed up for personal training with Josh and have been working with him twice a week for 5 months now. I’ve had nothing but positive experiences. He pushes me beyond what I would push myself to do but never beyond what I’m capable of doing safely. He’s made me feel strong and capable again.

As a 5’5”, 215lbs woman, I’m not the picture of a fit person. I often feel like I’m flopping around like a beached whale but NEVER has anyone at 585 fitness made me feel self conscious about my fitness level or appearance. Every trainer and trainee is friendly and supportive.

Personal training may seem expensive at first but compared to the money I’ve wasted on classes, gym memberships, and equipment I never use, this is worth every penny. I highly recommend it.

I purchased a 12 week nutrition plan from Rob and In 4 weeks I’ve lost 15 pounds. For the first time EVER I am actually excited to hop on the scale. Rob definitely listens to your concerns and dietary restrictions and works them into your plan. I am gluten free and dairy free and he’s super conscious about my restrictions. I have never had this much success with a weight loss plan and am really excited to keep progressing through it.

I’m on week five of Rob’s wellness plan and am already down 15 lbs! After the first week and a half or so, my appetite was greatly decreased and many bad habits and cravings were broken - now I feel great. Rob is patient, easy to talk to and be honest with, and FLEXIBLE! I was nervous about weight gain over the holidays being in the middle of the plan, but Rob worked with me and made accommodations to the plan for Thanksgiving so that I could enjoy and eat, but not see a drastic weight gain after. He is great at communicating and always makes himself available via phone or text. I’ve been through other programs that didn’t work for me, but this one is fantastic. I can’t say enough good things. I first came to Rob with an injured shoulder and he has worked with me and given me exercises appropriate for each stage of that injury. At this point, my shoulder is healed and I am, at almost age 60, doing more regular exercising than I have ever done in my life. Several years ago I decided to hire a personal trainer to help me change my life. I have always been active, but not fit. I had been trying to get myself more fit as I always knew as I got older it would be harder and harder to stay healthy. I had never successfully lifted weights, or had a workout routine that involved total fitness. He changed my views, and has helped me, despite many health setbacks since I met him, to be healthier today than I ever have been before. Rob takes a very personal and individualized plan to every client he has, taking into consideration each persons unique situation, and adapting to all changes along the way. He not only conducts and assists with workout routines, developing them, and tracking the progress, but also does a fantastic job with nutrition assistance and guidance. Rob makes the workouts fun, interesting, and tough, each and every time. In close to 5 years of workouts 2 to 3 days a week, no 2 workouts have been the same. The progress I have witnessed in myself is tremendous. Rob is extremely dedicated, pushes me harder than I would push myself, and takes great pleasure in his clients successes. I could not be happier with Rob and 585Fitness. The small studio approach makes it more personal, and I know Rob is focused 100% on me, each and every time I am there. The amount of equipment in the studio is perfect for a full body fitness program. There are other trainers within 585Fitness as well that take the same approach I know Rob does. Monthly progress tracking. Personalized programs. Before and After pictures are recommended, as the difference is amazing. Rob's results are real, if you are willing to put in the time and energy!

Over the past few years stress took a front seat in my life and I stopped putting my health and well-being first. This past June at school, I asked a colleague about her weight loss-she looked amazing! I have been working with Rob for 4 months now, and I couldn't recommend him more highly. I broke 7 bones in an accident in October 2016, and, after I had healed, I had a fair amount of muscle atrophy when I started with Rob. He has been great. I have worked with personal trainers before, but Rob is exceptional. His knowledge base -- whether about exercise, nutrition, or well-being, is terrific. He customizes my workouts to help me achieve my specific goals, and, while he pushes me through a rigorous workout, he is always tuned in to make sure that he is not pushing too hard, not putting me at risking of hurting myself. I have played paddle tennis and love the sport. After my accident, I didn't expect to be able to play again, even after months of work with physical therapists. When I started with Rob and he assessed my baseline, he "guaranteed" that I would be able to play again. He was right. He tailored my workout to what my current baseline was and to my individual goals. I am back enjoying the sport I love. In summary, Rob is highly skilled, customizes the workouts to help his clients achieve their goals, and HE CARES. That is a combination that is rare in my experience.

I've been going to 585 Fitness for iver a year and recommend them to anyone trying to lose weight or get in shape. Rob has been my trainer for over three years. He's absolutely the best. He's excellent at focusing exercise to areas that need work. He's supportive and knowledgeable. I am not fond of exercising and have a creaky body. I ALWAYS feel better after a training session. Rob customizes the training to the person and always has suggestions that help beyond the training session. I've recommended Rob to many friends and family members. A year ago, I weighed 95 lbs soaking wet, ate junk all the time and unless it was daily activities, never excercised. I always said I was going to join a gym, gain some weight and muscle but always made excuses. A friend who trains with Rob recommended reaching out to Gus to see if personal training would be a good fit for me. I remember being crazy intimidated the first time I walked in thinking "what have I gotten myself into?? Everything looks reallllly heavy in here..." Even more so when I left after what seemed like an intense workout. Almost a year later, that first work out seems like a walk in the park compared to my sessions now.

I weighed in at 108 yesterday, something I never thought was possible. I wouldn't be where I am without Gus and everyone at 585. They are each dedicated to every clients work out plan and individual goals. Gus has taught me so much about myself and fitness in general. Without him pushing me and his confidence in me, I would have given up a long time ago. Most people dread their work outs- I look forward to going to my sessions and hate having to miss one.

I would never consider going to a gym now and working with their "personal trainers". The guys at 585 are a genuine example of how training should be. Whenever people ask where I work out I never hesitate to recommend them to Gus or anyone at 585.

I made an appointment with Rob to go in and speak with him about what services they offered. When I arrived for my appointment, three gentlemen were sitting in the office they all looked and saw me standing at the window. I waited patiently for two of them to finish giving directions to a lady who was leaving. Once she left they never acknowledged me at all. The man actually sitting at the window, looked up at me then turn his back completely to me, and all three continued talking to each other as if I wasn't standing there. So I turned and left the building. I would never recommend this location to anyone or spend a dime on any services they have to offer.
Furthermore, it is not properly ventilated for a fitness place. It smells stuffy when you walk in.
