9 Essentials Pilates and Wellness, what does the 9 mean? The number 9 represents the 9 Principles of Pilates as well as the 9 essential amino acids. The 9 principles of Pilates include:

I visited this Pilates studio for the first time while in town, and I’m so glad I did! The studio is warm and welcoming, the classes are fantastic, and the instructors are incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Even as a first-timer, I felt comfortable and supported right away. I absolutely love this studio! At 55, I consider myself an active woman, but I realized I had lost much of the core strength I once had. Nine months ago, I decided to start Pilates here, and it’s been one of the best decisions I’ve made for my health and well-being.
I began with a few private sessions to get comfortable with the reformer, and the transition into regular classes was seamless. The instructors—Christa, Emma, and Haley—are exceptional. They are professional, encouraging, and know exactly how to challenge you to reach goals you didn’t think possible.
One of the things I value most is how they tailor each exercise to your needs. They offer modifications on the spot—whether you want to push yourself further or ease up a bit—always with a focus on proper form, breathing, and body awareness. The small class sizes mean you get personal attention every time, which makes a huge difference.
The atmosphere is welcoming, inclusive, and inspiring, with all ages and body types represented. I noticed results almost immediately: more muscle definition in my legs, arms, and stomach and most importantly, greater functional strength in everyday life.
This studio has truly transformed my strength, confidence, and quality of life. If you’re looking for expert instruction, supportive instructors and real results, this is the place to be!

When my wife and I moved back to the area in March 2024, we nearly injured ourselves trying to move a beast of a hardwood desk down the stairs. It was so heavy we barely made it without a disaster.
Fast forward to now, after 9 months of consistently training with Christa, and the other day we decided to move that same desk back upstairs. We were nervous, hyping it up in our heads again like, “Oh no, the desk is so heavy, are we really about to do this?”
Y’all—we picked it up and almost launched it into the ceiling. We literally burst out laughing. It was that easy. That’s what strength feels like.
Working with 9 Essentials has changed our bodies, our confidence, and our actual quality of life. It’s not just about the gym for us, it’s about being able to do the hard stuff with ease. 10/10 recommend.

Today was my first class at this studio and I absolutely loved it! The instructor, Emma K, was so knowledgeable and welcoming. She explained each exercise as well as optional modifications and created an atmosphere of comfort and motivation. I know I’m going to be sore tomorrow in the best way. Definitely will be back!!

Christa is an amazing instructor and I am so happy 9E has opened in Saugerties. After living in Manhattan for many years, and now living upstate, I missed having a good Pilates studio nearby, and this one is top notch! Christa is really knowledgeable, and the moves in class always differ from day to day, yet are always challenging in a good way. Keeps you coming back for more! And to top it off, it's a super fun atmosphere with great music. Cant wait for abs of steel from Christa's classes!

Completely nervous, because I am far from flexible. Well that didn't last long at all! Once class started and Christa went step by step with her instructions I knew I was in good hands. Her teaching skills are amazing and she is able to adapt to every client. Every class / private I have taken has been a different routine, which helps me with keeping my interest. Absolutely love 9 Essentials and I would highly recommend to everyone!
