The workout is good. Definitely one of the harder classes in NYC. I just wish they kept the place cleaner. Every time I do the boot camp I feel like I'm gonna come out with ringworm, and the cycling class is a literal sauna except instead of steam it's other people's sweat. At the if they could swap out the soggy yoga mats between bootca o classes I would really appreciate it. Good vibes, good workout though.

Such a unique experience! If you enjoy this type of workout, this studio is definitely the place to challenge yourself and grow. I absolutely love it! I’m not from the US - NYC, but whenever I’m in town for work, I never skip my check-in!

I've been an avid spin cyclist for years and go to SoulCycle all the time. I had heard a lot about AARMY so wanted to check it out. As a first timer on the cycle portion (I had been to a bootcamp so maybe was missed as a true "first timer") there wasn't really any welcome or explanation, but more importantly there was no expectation setting for the fact that everyone there just knows the really intense choreography because they've been going there for forever, and the instructor will not cue or guide the choreography at all. Maybe you all should offer a foundations course or something? Or at least set better expectations for first timers.

Additionally, I'm sorry but for $40 / class there have got to be a place for me to take a shower with amazing products. That's one of my favorite parts of a workout is leaving the studio feeling fresh. Further, the locker situation is rough, every other studio in NY has lockers with a lock built-in. I can't be having to bring my own lock to keep my things secure (and if there were locks available at the front desk no one told me). And a water filtration system would be great, I tried to fill up my water from one of the three jug stations and none had water, the front desk was nice and offered me a bottle though thank you. 😊

This is all meant to be constructive feedback (I tried to find a place on the website to send an email to provide feedback privately but there was also no "contact us" button I could find). Overall the people that love AARMY seem to LOVE it so you all must be doing something right! Just would recommend a better first-timer experience, and amenities that I've come to expect from a luxury studio in NYC.

Have only had amazing spin and bootcamp experiences with AARMY. The spin classes are full of fun energy and leave you feeling happy and recharged

I ended up taking a 90 minute bootcamp when the spin class I wanted was full. I was a bit terrified because I have a couple of injuries, but everyone was super warm and reassuring. Akin provided modifications and even taught exercises specific to my shoulder issues during class

I’ve been feeling pretty discouraged about workouts after being injured because I haven’t been able to do my favorite sports. AARMY was such an encouraging and supportive atmosphere, I was surprised at how much I was still able to do. Would highly recommend it!

The worst company. My son has called 5x to cancel the subscription and they keep charging the credit card. Their phone does not work. Stayyyyyy awayyyyyy unless after you decide to cancel they keep charging your card too!
I’ve had to dispute all of their charges and still am after over a year !

I started training with AARMY six months ago through live sessions with Akin. I first discovered it through his videos on Instagram, I tried my first session, loved it, and later came across a review on Reddit where someone wrote, “My body never looked better.” That’s exactly the kind of recommendation that gets your attention. I kept going and can honestly say: my body has never looked better either.

But it’s not just about how I look. The best part is how every workout leaves me feeling energized, empowered, and inspired to keep pushing forward. It’s become such a positive and grounding part of my life.

A huge part of that is thanks to Akin himself. He brings so much warmth and energy to every session. From day one, he will create an environment where you feel welcome, capable, and supported and that mindset has stayed with me through every single workout.

I also had the chance to attend in-person classes in NYC recently, and that took everything to another level. Also took a session with Kemal, whose energy and style brought a great dimension to the experience, it’s clear the whole team is world-class. The atmosphere was outstanding, and the community they’ve built is truly inspiring. It’s so clear this isn’t just a workout, it’s a movement.

I’d love to see AARMY take Europe by storm, London, Paris, Prague… we’re ready for a physical AARMY home here too. Let’s make it happen!

Until then, I’m already looking forward to the next time I’m back in NYC with the team. ✨

I've been emailing AARMY NYC constantly as I got WRONGLY CHARGED for a subscription I can't even access. I was charged twice a total of $74 and haven't gotten a response from the team or a refund. This has been going on since February and they keep saying they don't have an answer for me or they IGNORE MY EMAILS. If this keeps going on I'll probably get wrongly charged AGAIN A 3RD TIME (which will be a total of $108) and I can't even use my subscription. I went to the noho location on Tues March 18 and the front desk person said that they will add the manager to my email and I showed them the charges on my credit card. They apologize as they also could see u couldn't access my account and said they will work on getting me an answer and a refund. After that I have followed up multiple times (7 EMAILS following up!!!!!) and gotten NO RESPONSE!!!!

THIS IS UNACCEPTABLE FOR A BUSINESS THAT IS BASED ON CLIENT RETENTION AND CUSTOMER SERVICE. Please exceed in GREATNESS in practice and in your CUSTOMER SERVICE TOO!!!

AARMY sets the standard for group fitness globally. This isn't just a workout—it's a culture, a mindset, and a community built on commitment, discipline, and excellence. The instructors are world-class, fully committed to the method, and lead by example. They don't just coach; they train alongside you, pushing everyone to be their strongest selves. The passion here is evident in every detail—from how classes are structured to the energy in the room.

Akin's influence is undeniable. I started taking his SoulCycle classes ~10 years ago and was immediately drawn to his intensity, music, high standards, and focus on fundamentals. I've been to over 200 of his classes, mostly cycling, and his philosophy is evident: strong foundations prevent injury and lead to real progress. AARMY has evolved far beyond just him, though—every coach is exceptional, and the team is the real deal.

The cycling and bootcamp classes are designed by athletes, for athletes. Bootcamp blends weight training (like Barry's) with calisthenics and yoga for flexibility, creating a well-rounded approach. The workouts are intense, and the community is dedicated—some might find it intimidating at first, but don't be afraid. Everyone is focused on their own progress, and the atmosphere is competitive in the best way.

Beyond the workouts, the studio is top-notch—cutting-edge spin bikes, a sleek but functional space, and high-end amenities in the changing rooms and bathrooms. I also love that they have foam rollers available. The multi-gear bikes were the first I'd seen, and the attention to detail here is next level. The music is world-class and constantly evolving. AARMY's swag is everywhere, and you'll quickly notice the loyalty—people live in their AARMY gear. The clientele mixes downtown creatives and serious athletes, creating a uniquely cosmopolitan but authentically athletic vibe.

AARMY is a microcosm of what appeals to me about NYC: open-minded, hard-charging people who love the cutting edge and give 150% to everything they do. The passion here is evident; this place is a beacon of the champion's mindset.

AARMY isn't just another fitness studio—it's a family business built on love, talent, and loyalty. It can be challenging to get into classes, but if you're serious about training and in NYC, this is as good as it gets. Will remain a loyal client forever. Keep innovating and leading by example!

Amazing place to train. All classes are high level training so keep in mind that if you don’t normally train you may have a hard time following up with everyone. Still, they are so welcoming to newbies, the installations are pretty nice but there are no showers. Bootcamp class with any coach is amazing. Akin Akman is super well aclaimed and worth the hype, he’s really nice towards fans.

I was in NYC for work and wanted to try something different. I usually ride at SoulCycle, but I wanted to see what else was out there.

I’m so glad that I did. While the classes are advanced, they are incredible. I wish I lived in NYC so I could practice more with Akin.

What a place, what an experience. I’ve been doing indoor cycling like this in my own country for 4 years but always look forward to push myself to whole other limits and get crushed here. The class is high performance based, but Akin makes sure that you reach your own top of the mountain.

Practical. There is no shower, but room to freshen up. Shoes are included and you can buy merchandise / gear at the store if on stock.

Went for a taster session earlier today. I’ve just moved to NYC and have previously been to SoulCycle and 1Rebel. What I liked: enthusiastic crowd, a little bodyweight work wrapping the towel around the handlebars, lots of high fives. What I’d improve: staff didn’t notice it was my first time (I had to tell them) didn’t give me shoes (I had to ask) and no showers so I ended up having to WFH rather than stink up the office. It’s good, it’s just not super professional.

Was compelled to visit as I see it as the mecca of those who like rhythm riding and was not disappointed. In fact, if anything I was surprised as I did not know there were set coreos that the riding crew knew already so although a bit overwhelming to catch up to, it was an experience second to none as the 'army' is super supportive of each other and keeps on cheering each other on. Akin is an outstanding instructor, very motivational but if you are a beginner it may feel a bit overwhelming so choose bikes in the back and check the moves beforehand so that it feels more doable!
The bikes and changing rooms were nice and clean and the lady that welcomed me at the reception was the kindest! Thank you for a memorable first AARMY ride :) hoping to be back soon!

I really wanted to love this class. But my personal experience was frankly, quite miserable. I've been an avid spin cycle goer for 3 years now, and am by no means a beginner. In all the classes i've been to before, the instructor stays on the bike and clearly gives you instructions on what to do - they cue you in, they count, they give names for the moves they expect you to follow. The instructor for this class did none of that. He expected us to just know what to do with no instructions on the hand movements whatsoever and yes, maybe the front row all managed to do it after many classes with him, but how is that a fun or even doable class at all for someone new to AARMY? I'd have much preferred if he spent some time at least before class or in between each song to demonstrate all the moves himself, before expecting us to join in right at the start. He was also off the bike 75% of the time, which made it extremely hard to follow just looking at the person in front.

Other than that, the bikes are new, studio is clean, locker room area was pleasant, and front desk was extremely friendly. The energy of the other riders was lovely and they'd turn around to give each other high fives.

Unfortunately, however, I'd rather spend my money elsewhere where i can get some proper guidance and instructions. A workout class is meant to be challenging, yes, but it's also supposed to leave you with a sense of achievement which is frankly not possible unless you've been to 100 AARMY spin classes.

Do not plan to invest in real estate or rent an office or an apartment near this Aarmy gym. The overbearing sound and noise they make will negatively impact nearly every minute of your day from 6 AM onwards, 7 days a week. And it’s not music. It’s pounding, thumping, marching and yelling. Sheer torture. While the staff is very nice, no steps the company has taken mitigate the noise production problem. Bottom line: unless you plan to start a rival gym, look for another neighborhood to live or work in!

I’ve had the privilege of training regularly at AARMY for the last few months after following the coaches/studio online. As with most trendy fitness studios in NYC, I expected this to be a fun experience that’s only worth it on occasion. Immediately upon walking into 636 Broadway, I felt the space/community/culture was different. From the amazing team up front, to the best (best best!) in class coaches + connected community of athletes, there’s an energy to AARMY that’s contagious - one that makes you feel supported and encouraged (regardless of your past fitness experience/current ability) and leaves you wanting more (whatever “more” is for you that day). And whether it’s your first visit to AARMY or your 500th, the coaches are tuned in to your individual ability as they guide you forward on a path of progression (physically and emotionally). What started as just another place to work out turned into something that’s changed my entire outlook in such a short amount of time. There is truly no place like AARMY!

The physical gains I’ve experienced at AARMY are like no other, but even they are shadowed by the mental breakthroughs I’ve had. This community is inspiring and the coaches are all phenomenal. One of the least considerate business I’ve ever come across.

Any exercise class plays loud music and makes a lot of noise. That’s fine. But AARMY’s music bleeds an unusual amount into neighbors apartments, and they have consistently ignored the requests from neighbors in SEVERAL buildings to somehow reduce the disturbance for their neighbors. Not everyone wants to be woken up at 6am by Dua Lipa, sorry.

They didn’t respond to anyone for years until, finally, someone wrote a public online review. Funny coincidence.

I grew up in soho, and in 25 years I have never experienced a more disrespectful or disruptive member of the community.

AARMY built a better version of me mentally and physically. It is the most supportive community/family I have ever had the privilege to be a part of. When lockdown happened I thought the community would lose touch but through resilience and exceptional leadership we stayed in touch, the coaches found innovative ways to keep training us and we thrived. Along the difficult journey of covid lockdown we even found new amazing athletes to join an already amazing team. When AARMY reopened its doors after lockdown it was a homecoming. AARMY is my happy place. A place I can be challenged to be fearless, to be relentless, to be a leader. I’m not going to lie, it’s hard, it’s tough, there are days that every muscle in my body hurts but if you keep trying and celebrate the smallest gains and find joy in the progress it will be the most rewarding experience and place you will ever have.

As my birthday present, I planned a few days of vacation in NYC and among the things I must do was to have a practice in person at Aarmy; and I can say that it was an experience that exceeded my expectations; I still dreaming and thinking it is unreal and I have no words to tell how much this place means to me. It is more than a Gym, it is a community, a place of transformation, here you came and your mindset change.

The environment and energy here invites you to seriously believe that everything is possible, knowing that you are capable of achieving everything you dream of and beyond. With perseverance and a beautiful team behind encouraging you all the time, you absolutely go further.

I took the bootcamp and cycling practice with Akin, a wonderful human being and a great professional, the effectiveness of the technique and the results are noticeable in the whole team; someone is always finding the way and go further.

Needless to say, the facilities, the staff, the services, the coaches, the athletes, 10/10. I loved the experience and will definitely take the online classes while I live outside the States and NY (which is my dream one day). Thank you AARMY team! I love you lots!

I will forever be grateful for finding AARMY in the middle of the pandemic. I started training with them about a year ago through their digital platform and the physical and mental strength I’ve been able to develop in this past year has completely exceeded my expectations. Their workouts are challenging, inspiring, fun, and motivating. The community they’ve built is like no other and the coaches are simply the best out there. Best place to workout in NYC.

Literally the best workout you can get in 50 minutes. Puts Soul Cycle and Barry's to shame. You'll never be able to go back to those others once you experience the beat+workouts if Aarmy!

I didn’t know it was possible to love a workout studio so much but I have found my happy place in AARMY. It’s not only the best workout in NYC but the coaches and athletes create the most inspiring atmosphere that pushes you to be your best self in and out of the studio. AARMY has made me stronger physically and mentally. There is nowhere else like it and nowhere else I would rather workout!

I've been going AARMY since its opening in 2019 and training with its co-founder, Akin Akman since 2015. It's not only a fitness studio but my home away from home. They have created a team atmosphere for its athletes that is like nothing I've seen at other gyms/studios, and have truly built a community that supports each other -- both in and out of the studio. The programming for practices -- from stretch/recovery to bootcamp to cycle -- are created to ensure that you see personal growth and progress both physically and mentally. They are incredibly challenging but fun for all levels! And while you are in a group setting, the AARMY coaches provide 1:1 instruction in every practice ensure your form is correct and that you are pushing yourself. Side note - during the pandemic while their doors had to close, they showed up everyday virtually to keep us all sane (and strong) and then launched an online app so we could train everyday at home. Now it's my go to when I can't make it in person. If you are looking for the the best experience in conditioning and strength training... and a community of athletes to support you on your journey... not only in fitness but in life...AARMY is it.

Have been training at Aarmy for a few years now— not only do I get a great workout, I’ve built confidence that I carry with me outside the studio too. Most places that claim to build “community” are cheesy, but aarmy’s built something special and authentic. The energy is electric!!

AARMY has officially turned into a daily routine since my first practice in May 2021. Everything about it, from the instructors to staffs and community is everything you need and more. Every practice challenges you and allows you to grow both physically and mentally.

I LOVE AARMY. This place has become more than gym since opening and reopening during Covid. The coaches, staff and fellow community have become friends and family. The classes will challenge you and everyone there is cheering with you. I feel like i can be myself here. I am so sad I cant take classes in real life since moving to London but the on-demand sessions on the app is a huge benefit.

The ultimate game changer. Akin and his AArmy are next level in every respect. He is a superstar human being, athlete, and coach. The “team” he has cultivated is welcoming and supportive. His energy is infectious. The most challenging workout around, and yet FUN beyond measure!! Also need to shout out Sophia, Yavuz, Ugo, Izzy, Nicole, Laura, Haley, Nick, Conner and everyone else who helps make AARMY the best studio in town!

AARMY will change your life - I know you probably hear this often but just try once and you will never look back! The facility is very conveniently located in the heart of NOHO, with practices from 6:45 am up to 6:30 pm on most days which gives a lot of options to train with our busy schedules. The staff is very helpful, kind and will make you feel at home. The coaches are just the best, they truly care about you and will make you reach new levels by coaching you inside and outside of the studio. You will meet the most amazing community. We support, celebrate and inspire each other every day. I am a working mom and I am grateful for this team who helps me grow stronger both mentally and physically every day. Join AARMY now!
