BE CAREFUL BEFORE SIGNING UP FOR THIS MEMBERSHIP!!!!
The owner has absolutely zero compassion and will not help you if you’re unaware of the fine print regarding their “roll over” policy. Instructors, the front desk, their advertising and everything will tell you that unused classes will roll over to the following month, but no one will ever explain to you there’s a cap to the amount that roll over until after you’re automatically charged hundreds of dollars for months of classes that don’t exist. If you explain to them your family member is dying and you were too busy taking care of their hospice plans to attend classes and had no idea this policy existed and ask if there’s anything they can do to help you, they will tell you that you signed a contract and should’ve read it better. I have loved the classes here, but my heart is broken over their lack of communication and compassion. This is incredibly unfair, and I just want you to know the reality of what you’re signing up for before you get trapped by predatory policies and fine print no one will ever mention like I did.
Edit: To respond to Jennifer’s comment below, I DID directly talk to the front desk about pausing my membership, but I told her I enjoyed going to the gym for my mental health, and although I couldn’t make it often during that time, I was hesitant to fully pause it because I still wanted to go minimally, and the woman at the front desk reassured me that my classes would roll over, and NEVER MENTIONED there being a cap to the amount of classes that would roll over, to which I said “oh ok, great! Thank you!” And walked away smiling thinking they would all just roll over 🤷♀️ this policy was never made clear to me, even when I asked directly about pausing my membership and decided against it because I was reassured my classes would roll over. This is not fair, and I went to the front desk to let them know prior to me emailing the owner that I was charged for classes that didn’t roll over, and the front desk person also agreed this was not fair. I did everything I should’ve done in this situation and attempted to pause my membership but didn’t because of information the front desk told me, so I’m going to leave this review up so everyone is aware of what this membership entails since it’s never going to be clearly communicated by anyone.

Paige is an outstanding aerial coach at Aerial Arts Rochester. She has a clear, patient teaching style and a remarkable ability to break down movements so they make sense in the body. Whether in private lessons or group classes, she meets students exactly where they are and helps them progress with confidence. Paige is consistent in her feedback, always supportive, and skilled at balancing challenge with encouragement.
Paige and the rest of the crew at Aerial Arts Rochester create a welcoming space for learners of all levels and ages!

Extremely disappointed by the response then lack of further response over trying to have a birthday party here. There website clearly days parties are for 4 and up and when I inquired i was rudely told absolutely not they're for 6 and up and when I pointed out that their website said otherwise I was ignored.

I came here with a group of friends (12 people total) for a girls night out. The facility went above and beyond; scheduling was easy and staff were all very communicative, furthermore, the instructor was vivacious and kind, which made for a great experience. I can't recommend this facility enough if you are looking to do a girls night out :)

I came here for the first time a few months ago with a friend as part of a Groupon deal. I thought it would just be a fun silly thing to try out together but I ended up falling in love with the classes. I’m not particularly fit or graceful, but have already made significant improvements in my short time here. The instructors really will meet you wherever you’re at. It has already helped to build so much confidence and gives me something to look forward to during the week. I even get excited about going to the gym now because I’m so eager to build strength to help me advance in aerial classes. They also clearly value safety, which is incredibly important for a place like this. I’ve taken classes with several different instructors and so far all of them have been amazing. They provide appropriate instruction to make sure everyone is safe and emphasize the necessity of stretching/warm-ups and listening to your body. For anyone wondering if they should take the leap and try it out, I absolutely recommend it!

I've never been excited about exercise in my life, but for the first time ever I've been beyond excited to work my butt off and my time spent at Arial Arts is always the highlight of my week. I've tried a few different classes with a few different instructors and every one has been wonderful. Everyone, staff and students, are so lovely and supportive. When I started I was as far out of shape as one could be, but it doesn't matter at all and no one's ever made me feel bad about struggling to keep up with some of the other more advanced students or moves. I love the clear membership structure and how easy it is to view, book, and change classes. I'm so glad I took the leap to sign up and start taking classes, it's truly been life changing. Can't recommend it more!

I was looking for a fun fitness challenge to gain flexibility and strength since I am sedentary due to work. After purchasing the three class introductory pass, I did hoop, silks and pole dancing for the first time. I enjoyed myself each time because of the welcoming environment for beginners, great instructors and warm people in the class. The facility is clean, well lit and I always feel the equipment is safe. I did my first hammock class today and I didn’t know what to expect but I was so pleased to jump right in! I’ve already recommended the classes to many others in hopes of everyone trying a class here. Thanks to all of the instructors and a new interest in hammock, I now have a monthly membership to continue learning and refining my skills.

I have wanted to try aerial silks since I saw a performance when I was 5. I decided to do a class on a whim and I was fully expecting to practically be laughed out of the studio because I was fat and out of shape. That was not the case at all! The instructors are so helpful and are full of good advice and the other participants are very supportive. I now go multiple times a week and find it challenging but extremely rewarding. If you are thinking of trying a class but are worried that you may not be fit enough, I strongly encourage you to give it a shot!

We did a bachelorette pole dance class with Jennifer Dovidio and she was absolutely amazing! First, I had some issues with scheduling because people were coming in from out of town and they were SUPER flexible and helpful in making it work last-minute. Second, we were a mix of levels including more advanced and first-timers. She made everyone feel super welcome and comfortable, she helped give some of us a challenge but kept it simple enough for everyone to follow. She taught us an actual routine so we could take a video and some pictures at the end, and have something to show for the experience. Overall, it was super fun! Definitely a great party option!

I absolutely love it here. After covid closed my old gym I was depressed and stopped working out. Recently I tried finding my new gym home, but everywhere I went the vibe was cold and no one talked to each other. I am so grateful I finally tried a class here. Even though I had zero upper body strength, the teacher and other participants were so kind and encouraging. I felt comfortable coming back and trying again. I knew I’d get stronger, and the environment is positive and supportive.
I’ve been coming regularly for a little over a month now and I feel like myself again. I love that I feel accomplished after every single class. Every teacher is absolutely amazing. There’s so many different classes to choose from too. I’ve made new friends, and it’s quite honestly the highlight of my day when I go. Thank you Aerial Arts.

Aerial Arts of Rochester is the BEST. This place has completely changed my life. I'm stronger, healthier, and so much happier than I've ever been. The instructors are fantastic! They know how to bring out the best in every student while keeping the classes fun and engaging. They genuinely care about your progress and share in the joy that you feel when you achieve something that may have felt impossible just a few months ago. AAoR helped me discover a passion for silks, and that is something I'm going to treasure for the rest of my life. Thanks to them, aerial has become an integral part of my lifestyle.

The Aerial Arts of Rochester is an unforgettable experience and everyone can learn here! The staff are professional and friendly. The atmosphere is positive. The community is diverse and positive. They have a wide variety of aerial classes; I am cross training in aerial hammock/silks, lyra, pole, trapeze and recently capoeira martial arts! After a long day at work, I take a few wellness classes like flexibility or yoga to recover from the day. It is a fun and safe space to learn and advance at your own pace!

Moving here from CA I was worried I wouldn't be able to find a studio where I could train aerial arts. I have had some bad experiences in the past with unprofessional aerial studios. Taking my first aerial hammock class at Aerial Arts of Rochester, I knew this studio was the right place to train for me. The studio is clean, the instructors are very professional, everyone is so nice, there is structure to the different types of classes you can take. I felt like part of their family after my first class, sometimes it's tough going into aerial classes at a studio you've never been to and no one knows you, but I felt comfortable the minute I walked into the studio.
They have a wide range of classes that you can try all different types of apparatuses.
Try a class here and I'm positive you won't regret it. I am so happy I tried a class at Aerial Arts of Rochester. :)

I have been going to Aerial Arts since I moved to Rochester and they have always welcomed me and other new students with open arms. The owners Will and Jen know the ins and out of the business and have so much passion for what they do. Even if you have never tried aerial they will teach the class to everyone's abilities including the weakest and the strongest. Very VERY knowledgeable about what they do. Teaches you the correct way to do moves and won't move you up until you have mastered the pre requests (as most places should) to ensure the safety of their clients. I would recommend to anyone looking to get active or that has been training or that is even brand new.

I bought a groupon to aerial arts of Rochester for a pole dance fitness work shop 5 years ago and I have been going 2-3 times a week since. Now I practice aerial Silks, Lyra (hoop), Pole, and hula hooping. The prices are comparable to other gym memberships but the instruction and unique workout is a lot more fun creative and challenging than weights at a gym (seriously who doesn’t want to watch people flipping off hoops?!). The instructors are so supportive and amazingly talented. Regarding COVID, I am impressed with their sanitization and feel safe here. I would highly recommend aerial arts of Rochester.

I have been a student at AAOR since 2016. The owners Will and Jenn are kind and patient teachers. The rest of the teachers are great and folks are very friendly. Over the years they have expanded their class offerings as teachers come and go. I have watched many experienced students start to teach, which is pretty cool.
The aerial classes are structered well to help even a total begginer to gain strength and skills concurrently. They have a wide variety of circus and conditioning classes to compliment the aerial skills. Prices for classes and various practice passes are reasonable prices for the location. The have a satellite locationnin Greece and a branch called Up! Aerial Fitness in buffalo.
They have 2 student showcases a year and also do choreographed shows. AAOR regularly has special workshops run by out of town performers as well as shorter classes focusing on less popular apparatus like aerial cube and cloud swing. They also have sampler workshops for those interest in trying things out.
I have taken: silks, dance trapeze, Lyra, juggling, stretch class, pole, aerial yoga. Quality of classes it very consistent.

Love Aerial Arts of Rochester! I have been going on and off since 2013 after purchasing a Groupon for the sampler package. It was clear from day one Lyra (Hoop) was my favorite apparatus! Love trapeze and aerial yoga as well. I do not need a gym membership while taking classes since this keeps me in shape already. Closest I will ever get to the circus! ;)

It's the time of year for people to reflect on what they are thankful for, and get ready for their New Years resolutions. This past year my doctor said the scariest F- word I think a doctor can say: Fibromyalgia. Luckily I have not yet been diagnosed with that, but they say that the nerve pain I get is very similar to it. Apparently Endometriosis and Carpal Tunnel are enough for my body for now. I'm in that mid point of age in life so I had a few bad habits that could be kicked in my fight against pain. Aerial Arts has been a blessing. I started with the beginner aerial Yoga one time before moving to Core Aerial classes. Seeing as I was an active child it was a bit of an eye opener just how out of shape I had become. At no point in Aerial Yoga or Core Aerial did anyone make me feel bad about myself, or the fact that I couldn't YET do something. The teachers would often put an extra flare on a move to show us what we were working towards as a way to motivate us, but never once was I shamed, left behind, left out, or anything one might expect when they're brand new to a group. I've taken Core Aerial more than a few times now, and have gotten into much better shape- though still a long way to go. It was enough for me to take a few classes in the apparatus that had peaked my interest: the Static Trapeze. I had the courage to give it a try, and I'm at least able to do the beginner level skills. I can't wait for next year with the people who work there, and see how close to my goals another year with them gets me. I could go on and on about how wonderful and supportive all of the staff is, or you could come in for class to see for yourself! As Will says: at least you'd be doing something. It's never a bad thing to get up and moving.

This place is one of a kind and I am so glad it exist! I do a lot regular gym activities (weight lifting, Zumba, cycling, etc.) and was bored with it so I decided it was time to change it up! Well hands down this did the trick! I am taking an aerial silks class where I get a wonderful arm and ab workout from the stunts we learn! This class has challenged my muscles, my body, my mind and my flexibility in ways that I have never experienced before and I am thankful for that. I will warn that it does become pretty challenging as you progress further into the sessions and if you're afraid of heights this might not be the right thing for you. Overall, this is a great and unique hobby to participate in and I highly recommend.

This business needs work. The only thing they have done well is hire FANTASTIC employees. I originally came to this business after purchasing a groupon that said it was valid towards pole dance fitness. When I brought the groupon to them for redemption, I was told that "that was not what the groupon goes towards and groupon wouldn't let them change the description". THATS FALSE ADVERTISING. When I asked what it went towards it was only valid for a sampler class and a stretching class. Nothing that the groupon had mentioned nor anything I was interested in. If it was correctly advertised, I wouldn't have purchased the groupon. I decided not to report their false advertising to groupon a year ago, which was a big mistake on my part. I tried classes there and due to the awesome instructors, I enjoyed it. However when dealing with management (the owners) you always get a vague answer that gives you the run around. They also deny you refunds of any kind and do not have a flexible schedule change policy unless it's to their benefit. To make matters worse, their new studio in which they moved to in January doesn't have air conditioning. As a fitness studio, especially one with students up on high hanging apparatuses, this IS NOT SAFE! Now on top of the hot rooms, they now are over booking classes so their are extra bodies in the room making it even hotter!!! Be careful of the shady business owners if you chose to go here. Also, be aware you're being recorded in their studios. They have cameras in each room and no signs anywhere letting one know about this. There's even a camera in the birthday party room that hosts children's birthday parties. Sketchy, pervy, poorly run and negligent. But at least they know how to hire quality employees.... That's one positive about their business.

I have been taking classes at Aerial Arts since 2011 and have loved every class I have taken throughout the years. My first time here was at a workshop where I got to try some pole tricks and I Immediately signed up for classes on a regular basis. The gym just isn't my "cup of tea" and AAOR provided me with another place to still get my exercise in. I have taken pole, chair dance (back when it was offered), ballet bar, jumpfit, stretch and injury prevention, spinny pole, stilettos, and twerk it. The owners and instructors are all extremely nice, patient, helpful, and knowledgeable. There's something here for everyone and I can't wait to see what's next there for me. Any business that is completely inflexible with their rescheduling policy (like theirs) gets one star from me.
Late last week, I purchased a Groupon for the sampler class. On approximately Thursday, I signed up for the session on Saturday morning.
By Friday, I realized that my son was very (unexpectedly) sick. When I went to their website to try and reschedule for a different Saturday, they have the following disclaimer.
"Once you are reserved for a workshop date, you can not change or transfer to a different date without forfeiting your voucher."
Despite the fact that sometimes life happens, whether I showed up or not, they kept the money for the class. I couldn't even reschedule to a different date. So, they keep my money and I don't get to try the class at a later date. Kind of leaves a bad taste in my mouth about the whole experience.
If you're thinking about trying the class, be very certain that you can attend or be prepared to donate your money to them.
