The class I took was beautifully paced and grounded in understandings of Chinese medicine. The space is also gorgeous!

I’ve really enjoyed my $30 first week at Arise! I’m so happy to live between both studio locations in Brooklyn. The variety and amount of class offerings is amazing and so convenient. My favorite instructor is Nicole, but all teachers are so well prepared and teach a high quality class.

My only gripe is that I really don’t think 25 people can fit in a single class! I’ve been to a few classes at almost full capacity and it was too overwhelming and claustrophobic for me. Ceiling fans would go a long way in circulating the air around the room so that it doesn’t feel so suffocating! Having so many people that close together and doing balancing poses and inversions is dangerous in my opinion. I would love to see more classes offered throughout the day so that I can avoid the more crowded classes during peak hours.

Arise is welcoming in design and style. Classes are led by talented, diverse and caring leaders of yoga. Each is bringing something unique and synced to the community. After a gap in my at-home practice, it has been helpful for my technique (and budget!) to grab the monthly pass. I appreciate this space, def try a class.

A beautiful space with nice teachers (so far I’ve been twice). I am new to yoga and the classes have made me want to return. The only thing I would change is the class size. I didn’t like people’s feet constantly in my face this morning - it was too cramped.

I used a new student trial week, but, unfortunately, won’t be coming back.
Both classes and instructors were absolutely wonderful. Sadly, there are things that a non-negotiable for me.
Upon entering the studio there’s a very strong musty smell of old socks and people’s sweat. The blankets and mats smell like that too. When I pointed at that to the instructor she seemed genuinely surprised. But there’s no way I’m the only one who smells that. I asked if they could burn some sage or incense but she said they don’t do that at the studio (although it might help in between classes at least). Aside from that, the floor is covered with hair, lashes and dust - gross. Maybe if the studio would undergo a deep cleaning every day this wouldn’t happen.
In addition, I happened to be present during a full class and I’ve never felt so claustrophobic… people’s feet are right above your head and vise versa. Wish I loved it because overall it’s a nice looking studio and the classes were good.

This is my local yoga studio. The teachers should get 5 stars they are all wonderful. Their policies around attendance and wait list are really intense however, and not always communicated well. And my interactions with front desk staff have ranged from pleasant to off-putting at times… there has to be a better way to handle timeliness than giving away someone’s spot 3 minutes before class begins. I don’t know any other studio that does that… give it away one minute after class starts and I’d get it.

This is truly a special place, you can feel it as soon as you step inside. It has a beautifully calming energy, and all the little touches inside are so thoughtful. I met such warm people here. Can’t wait to come back for different events and also can’t wait for the warm weather, the little outdoor space in the back looks so lovely too!

Living very close to the studio, I’ve walked by Arise numerous times and always thought “I should try it out” and I am SO glad I finally took the plunge! I’ve been doing the (incredibly reasonably priced!) $30 one-week unlimited offer for new students and I’ve gotten to try so many different classes! All of the teachers and classes have been fantastic. I feel such a sense of calm every time I go to the studio and I truly look forward to it as one of the best parts of my day. My fellow yogis have all been kind and friendly and the studio itself is bright, clean, and has incredible energy. Arise, you’ve gained a lifelong fan and I am signing up for my full-time membership. Thank you for being a bright spot in an uncertain world!

I am so happy that I finally tried Arise. I had heard good things but finally gotten around to doing their $30 new student offer. Wow! Great deal and great studio.

As other reviews have mentioned the windows and natural light make classes at anytime of day extra pleasant. In the winter especially it is nice to not miss out on a second of daylight. Also, the light that they have inside is nice and warm.

The variety in classes, times and teaching styles and personality has been great.

Thank you, Arise!

Not good. It was so packed no one had enough space to extend limbs. Not a responsible way to run a yoga class.

Thoroughly enjoyed my experience at the "Ink and Insight" workshop series curated by Sam and Simone. Journaling prompts, palo santo, and meditation set the tone for an evening of deep expression, soul searching and revelation. A diverse group of people left as friends realizing all the things we have in common. I plan to attend next month and bring a friend

Skip Arise Yoga. The lie on their website, about the classes being for "all experience levels", is not true. They say that to sucker you into a monthly membership - requiring three months. If you do purchase a monthly, they change their cancellation policy from two to eight hours, which comes with an additional fee of course. They're also unresponsive to customer concerns.

Editing to add an extra star for Mallika Aggarwal; an incredible teacher with a beautiful gift for speaking about and working with breath. It would be worth a membership just for her classes.

The space is beautiful, but what they consider a “full class” is too full to do yoga. There were less than 6 inches between mats. For me, it was claustrophobic.

I had a new student trial week during the summer, eg when people are out of town. Most of the classes I took were more comfortable, even the fuller ones. There is a lot of variety in the schedule which is nice compared to other options in the area. Teaching styles are very mixed and you should probably try several teachers before you decide if this is the right studio for you.

Having done the trial, I definitely would like to know what a “full class” capacity is and whether I am booked in a full one before arriving. It would be nice if there was a way to view how many people are signed up for the same class, so that if you don’t care (the owner says many people don’t) then no problem but if you do care, you could rebook for a less full class, instead of just finding out when you get there. If I were to stay on, I would call ahead to find out if it’s too full or I might ask someone to tell me which hours are the most popular so I could avoid them. But my schedule and life demands aren’t that flexible so I don’t know how it would work.

One other thing: the bathroom is beautiful. I think the floor is heated? And there’s a lovely bulletin board inside. It is clearly a space made with care.

I sustained injuries after an incident during their self-defense workshop offered in May. One of the instructors pushed me with enough force that I tumbled backwards onto my head and back. I was issued a refund after I requested one, but that does not begin to cover the direct and indirect costs of numerous medical expenses, the professional impact of having to excuse myself from work for appointments (I am required to be mostly in-office), and inability to engage in my normal physical activities for over two weeks now.

When I reached out to one of the owners, who I have been generously given my expertise and time to for a project since February, he ultimately ignored me. And when I did speak to another owner, she took the time to listen but offered to send me a copy of my signed liability waiver and underscored that it is in effect even in cases of negligence--a very by-the-book response that demonstrates a lack of accountability for hiring an instructor who had not taught this type of workshop in this particular setting. I understand that there is a level of risk in anything that we do, but this injury was due to instructor negligence and inexperience in this context.

Great studio in the neighborhood! Classes have been so fun (they have a great $30 for unlimited intro rate for new students so you can try different classes & instructors). Space is lovely, staff is really nice. Studio seems welcoming of different levels. Recommend!

Glad to have an excellent new studio in the neighborhood! The classes I’ve been to are excellent - a good combination of restorative and very active alike. Instructors have also been great and really helpful. I appreciate a clean and well maintained studio with friendly staff and fellow students.

I hadn't been to an in person yoga class in 11 months (!!!) and this was the perfect Valentine's return. The windows in the back let in so much light. I'm excited to go back. It would be great to see Arise Yoga partner with Arts & Letters 305 United, the PK-8 public school right around the corner!

Stoked to have Arise in the neighborhood! I really enjoyed my first class with Morgan. The flow was wonderful and the space is just beautiful. Especially pleased that individual classes are <$30 so I can afford to pop in a couple times a month on top of my ClassPass. It seems like they’re putting a big emphasis on community and I hope that stays the same as long as they’re open.

I've been waiting for a good yoga studio in the neighborhood and it looks like we finally got one! The space is gorgeous and so far all of the instructors have been wonderful. They offer a wide range of classes at all hours of the day. As a toddler mom, it's always hard to find time to get out of the house and on my mat, now I have no excuses.
