I can’t recommend Adam enough! I came to our sessions thinking I had a decent grasp of exercise, but I quickly realized how much of a difference proper form makes. Adam has an incredible eye for detail—every rep, every posture, they were right there making sure I was moving safely and effectively.

Instead of just telling me what to do, they explained why each adjustment mattered, which made everything click. Not only did I start to feel stronger, but I also noticed less strain in my joints and more confidence in my workouts overall.

What I really appreciate is the supportive, motivating style. Adam balances encouragement with accountability, and it never feels intimidating—just empowering. Thanks to them, I finally feel like I’m training smarter, not just harder.

A part of me feels bad writing this because the personal trainers here are great. But real issue is the locker rooms - they’re gross & need a major overhaul. It’s clear they haven’t been touched since the 80s and it shows, bigtime. They don’t provide towels for you to shower with and every time I step in the dingy showers I wonder if this is the day I’ll contract foot fungus - it’s inevitable. The shower floors are black/brown with dirt or mold, I don’t know and I don’t want to know. The shower curtains are gross and haven’t been swapped out or cleaned since the 80s - this is a $10 fix, why hasn’t it been done? Some of the showers don’t even have working lights in them. Also, the treadmills have live wires sticking out them in the same area you put your hands…so that’s concerning. Gotta be honest, I’ve never seen anyone wipe down weights or benches after using them which is gross. All but one of the water fountains are broken (this doesn’t seem temporary). If things don’t improve with the locker room, I can’t keep coming here. Paying $175 for a personal training session complete with disgusting showers is illogical.

I purchased a voucher for 8 60min sessions.
I was told to email them to redeem these sessions.
I emailed 4 separate times over the course of 3 weeks (June 20, June 24, June 27, July 11) and never heard back. I tried calling too, but was always directed to a full mailbox, with a message that says email is the best way to communicate.
Definitely a 0 star experience- because I can't honestly rate their instruction quality.

UPDATE: I was contacted by the business after posting my original Google review.
ATOMIC trains inside a gym called "Complete". The place is a bit dated but does have everything. Training session with Matt is good. Updating the stars to reflect that.

I started off with a only 8 package deal but by the end of it, ended up getting 24 sessions package (that's the max they offer at the moment, would have take more if that was offered! :D) I love every second of it. The attention to detail is amazing. The trainers come 100% prepared with a routine based on your fitness level and goals. I have been working out with Jean and he has been great and hope to continue working out for a long time.

I started working with Orville earlier this year and he has been an amazing trainer and support system. He makes sure to challenge me, but not to a point that I would be overdoing it. He has listened to my concerns when I have had back pain and modified our workouts to fit my needs. He is so down to earth and makes working out less scary which I truly appreciate. I bought a package of sessions to start and recently bought more sessions to continue working with him. I enjoy learning about other machines in the gym that I otherwise would not have used. Orville also has been great in giving suggestions when I ask on home fitness and improving diet/nutrition. Would definitely recommend him to friends and family.

I have been training with ATOMIC since 2015. There were some periods where life got busy and I trained a little less, but for the most part I have targeted training with them just about every week. The founder Adam along with all the trainers are great. For years I trained in person and loved their studio. Adam was constantly looking for ways to make it make it better. Always fresh with ideas and ordering and installing new things, and thinking about new ways to challenge me. He is one of those people that always stays fresh and has boundless enthusiasm for his field and to learn everything about it. I find that all of the trainers at ATOMIC are such high quality. I have worked with many and everything I do with them is so custom. My spouse trains with them as well and currently works with the same trainer as me and her workouts are totally different. There is careful attention to form which I really appreciate, and they always come prepared with a program. For many years now I have consistently trained with Brian, first in person, and for the past few years virtually. Brian is impeccably reliable, super skilled, and really cares and makes sure to check in holistically. I wasn't sure how the virtual training would work out when I switched from in person but its actually great. It feels like he is in the room with me, still carefully watching form and correcting me. I miss seeing Brian and everyone in person as often but it also makes it easier to manage time and reliably get in my workouts.

I met Adam some time ago and started my fitness regime with him and Gary. I can't say enough good things about working out with them. They are extremely knowledgeable in matching exercises to your level but also keep you motivated along the way. The clear and quick communication makes the whole experience first class of its kind.

In these difficult times when gyms are not accessible personal fitness training should be a part of anyone routine. It helps you be stay in shape, learn more about your body, diet and create new healthy habits while allowing to spend more time outdoors.

I started training with Che after she was recommended to me by a healthcare practitioner that I know. I had just turned 40 and noticed my hormones were changing and my previous fitness routine of classpass spinning and barre workouts were not giving me the results I was looking for.

I had lost mobility in my hips/glutes from overdoing the wrong workouts and my balance was extremely off. Che met me where I was at. She coached me and helped rebuild the muscle I had lost in my lower abs/glutes. It was important for me to work with someone who wasn’t going to give me a cookie cutter training workout. She tailored my workouts for my specific issues and needs.

In addition to building up my strength, she demonstrated how to stretch out my lower body with a foam roller and lacrosse ball to help improve my performance. Che truly understands the mind-body connection and was able to use this knowledge to guide me towards success.

We also discussed nutrition and counting my macros to make sure I was eating the right balance of protein, carbs, and fat daily. I learned during this process that I was restricting my calories too low, thinking that this would help speed up my weight loss. I was definitely not feeding my body the right balance of nutrients and she called me out on this.

After 12 weeks of bi-weekly training with Che, I have gained 2 pounds of muscle back and the flexibility/balance has returned in my lower body. I have recommended both her and Atomic to my friends and feel extremely grateful to have gained my healthy fitness level back. I couldn’t have done it without her.

Very good boutique gym and I was going to give a six star review, but the two stars off is because of our terrible experience with one specific trainer. The quality of workout really depends on trainer you work with. I recommend Mike, Larry and Adam, but NEVER work with Che Rodgers. My wife worked with her before and she would cancel appointment several hours before the workout for "conflict with other client". Her attitude is terrible and she didn't even apologize, she is just like this is what it is and you need to accept it.

Adam - I sent an email to the gym about what happened to us three months ago and never get a response , that is why I left a review. I updated my review after Mike talked to me. I want to be fair to those who work hard but I also want to be objective to what happened to us.

I met Adam (the owner) when I first came to check the place out and we connected so well I decided to use Atomic right away. Atomic totally changed my life! I was 35 pounds overweight, smoking, drinking heavily and eating everything in sight when i decided to give Atomic a try. They had a Gilt City promotion for some discounted personal trainer sessions, and i went in fully expecting to hate it.

I explained to my trainer, TJ Florio, that i HATE cardio and basically all things that made me breathe heavily. Also, that i hated working out in any way. And that i hated dieting. And that i was pretty regularly hungover. Obviously, that is not the attitude a trainer is looking for from a new client, but he 100% listened to me and found ways to work around all the things i hated.

I've been working with TJ for the past 2 years, I am THRILLED to say that i am now 30 pounds lighter, and all around healthier in every way. I don't smoke, i eat better, i don't drink as much and most importantly i am so much happier and hate way less things. TJ slowly introduced new habits to me without making it feel like work or deprivation. He also knows a ton about nutrition which is super helpful.

The gym itself is great. Adam, the owner, is really friendly and always poking his head in encouraging people when he is not training clients himself. The entire place has a laid-back vibe and not at all intimidating, which is what i was most afraid of in a gym. I hated the idea of super fit people walking around comparing muscles and being beautiful. All the trainers at Atomic make you feel totally welcome and comfortable - they are really just like one big family. I couldn't possibly recommend it more. And this is coming from someone who spend 36 years on a couch eating french fries. DO IT! You won't be sorry.

I have been training at ATOMIC since 2014 and I highly recommend. The team (led by owner, Adam) is fantastic and the equipment and space is top-notch, clean and they are always bringing in new equipment to try. They have a range of trainers with different styles (my go-to right now is Larry) so you will find someone who matches well with your goals or just rotate and learn new techniques from the team as you go. They have full showers with clean towels and a great location near subways and in the heart of midtown. Check out Atomic - I believe they will even throw in the 1st session for free. Prices are reasonable too for personal 1-to-1 training for this area of the city.

I've been working with Che and Gary, but mostly Che as of late. Che is more than just a good trainer - she will also talk you through life stuff, and help you with your diet and exercise at home so you can continue the work when you go home. She understands that everything is connected and that being a good trainer is more than just providing a good work out. I can also text her whenever if I have questions.

What I like about all the trainers at Atomic is that I don't ever feel like anyone is trying to sell me something. They are respectful when I say I need to wait to buy more sessions, and they are really looking out for your health and fitness.

I had a great experience at Atomic Fitness and would highly recommend the PT gym. I have been working out for 15 years and never thought I could use a personal trainer until I hurt my back. Part of my reluctance was ego but eventually you learn that hiring someone with experience is helpful at all levels of fitness, beginner or advanced.

I initially went in with the goal of just purchasing 8 sessions and learning how to tweak some of my techniques to avoid hurting my back in the future. Eventually I was seeing so much progress that I decided to continue for much longer.

At my time at Atomic the main goals I wanted to achieve were to put on lean muscle, learn advanced/complex movements and increase my strength. In the end I achieved all this and more. I am stronger and leaner than I have ever been before. The path to being stronger and leaner included things like improving my mobility and flexibility; things quite frankly I would not have pursued outside of having a trainer.

Brian Allen was my trainer and I think he is one of the best out there (I continue to send him clients). I work out in a well known big box gym in the city and I have received a few sessions there. The sessions were fine but it doesn’t come close to the training I received from Brian. Brian was always accessible even if I needed some help outside my sessions. He really was vested in getting me to where I wanted to be. He even helped me with a nutrition plan!

The one other thing I loved about Atomic was that most trainers knew my name even though I didn’t train with them. I felt great going there and it felt like a collegial environment where trainers embrace all clients, not just their own. The one thing I will say is you also have to put in the work if you want to see results; if you do and follow their lead I feel confident you can get to your fitness goals with the help of Atomic.

ATF is the absolute best! I purchased a gilt city shortly after the New Year and was so happy with my results that I opted to purchase a full package.

Facilities: They do a great job of keeping the workout areas and bathrooms clean and fully stocked with everything you may need, including full size towels, soap, shampoo and feminine products. In addition to making sure everything is clean, they are mindful to stagger their client schedule in the morning to make sure their (three) showers don't get jammed up

Staff/workouts: Amazing! I've been seeing Brian for around two months and have seen drastic changes in my overall strength, performance and body composition. While I've only worked out with Brian, it's very clear that EVERY trainer at ATF is committed to teaching their clients how to work out and get stronger without risk of injury, which is super important and often overlooked by other trainers/fitness instructors. All of the trainers at ATF are extremely nice, welcoming and make an effort to get to know everyone who comes in, not just their own clients. An hour workout goes by so fast because I am genuinely having fun.

Price: For what you get, you cannot beat ATF'S pricing. One on one training, a workout regimen you can follow on your own time and overall health and wellness coaching. I can text my trainer at any time and know he will respond. I know personal training is expensive but ATF is superior to anything you're going to get at a chain or budget gym

I've been training with Adam for the last 6 months, and I have had a wonderful experience. He keeps things fresh each session while also making sure that we are working toward my larger goals of getting measurably stronger, improving mobility and flexibility, and working to get better at other physical pursuits like rock climbing and skiing.

I am feeling better (and moving more weight) than i have since I was in high school (nearly 20 years ago!)!

The facilities are top notch - everything you'd ever need packed into a nice compact space. I can't recommend ATF highly enough.
