I love taking classes here. I did a private class when I first started which was so helpful and set me up well for the group classes. All of the instructors are so helpful and I appreciate when they correct my form. I even took my mom recently for a private duet class and she loved it so much. Highly recommend !

This is the best studio Pilates I have ever been too and I am a middle age woman who has done it all !!
The place is beautifully decorated and they have different rooms so that they could offer simultaneous classes at specific time slots where most people go .
All the instructors are great professionals , knowledgeable and experienced. Laura , Greg, Olivia and Carlton are my favorite ones !! However I know the owner would not hire instructors that are not qualified. Today I want to give my special thanks to Carlton . Carlton is definitely the best Pilates instructor I’ve come across in my life. She is knowledgeable, positive, engaging; and such a sweet human being . Carlton possesses a strong foundation in Pilates principles anatomy and alignment . Moreover she is passionate about teaching , she models and she can adapt her approach to suit all her clients’ needs . She challenges and fully motivates each person and explains the muscle group we are working at. I would highly recommend working with Carlton ! She always teaches with a great attitude , excellent mood , energy and pace !!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I took Natalie’s class twice in 2 days. She is an exemplary instructor! The perfect mix between a good burn and mindful breathing. Her positive attitude was a great start to my day. She is very knowledgeable and knows how to help you out on the fly - I needed help on a couple of the movements and she was very accommodating. Would highly recommend her and i’m definitely signing up again!

Went to a class run by Lorie B and she was great! It was the perfect amount of challenging but still fun and relaxing. I'm a beginner, and Lorie gave really great, clear instructions so I was able to follow along easily. If you're in the West Village, you should absolutely take a class here.

My favorite Pilates studio in the city - pretty much any time you want to do a class there is at least one available. Have never had a bad class, and everyone who works here is so nice! Laura and Reem are my favorites!

Had my first reformer class today with Courtney and I loved it! The studio is clean and spacious and Courtney is a fantastic teacher. She was so helpful and attentive with correcting form to get the most out of the workout. It was a small and intimate group of 4 even during peak after-work hours and very easy to book– love this considering how difficult it can be to get into group classes in NY. Fun but challenging and definitely felt like a good workout. Would love to come back!

Avea Pilates has been part of my weekly routine now for almost 5 years and I cannot imagine life without Pilates ! All of the instructors are fantastic, well trained and are extremely friendly and welcoming. The studios are bright and airy and extremely clean. The front desk staff are all so polite and professional and take the time to get to know every client . I , and a few of my friends have arrived early or stayed late just to have a friendly chat with them ! I highly recommend Avea to anyone looking for Pilates in NYC- they are simply the best !

I am a regular at Avea Pilates simply because of the ease of use of scheduling classes, the amazing instructors and the cleanliness of the studio with clear instructions. The experience for me has been phenomenal having tried a few studios in the city. The professionalism of the staff, the instructors' knowledge and patience with me during a class has been an enriching experience. I would highly recommend Avea to all that enjoy pilates.

EDIT: Thank you for your response, but I stand by my original review.
When I mentioned being “1 minute late,” I was referring to 1 minute after the admitted class start time—not the time I physically arrived at the door, but the grace period I have commonly experienced at this studio before. I have been coming here for the past two years and never had an issue like this, which makes this treatment all the more disappointing.
The core issue here is not about whether I was 1 or 6 minutes late—but about the unnecessarily rude, sarcastic, and condescending attitude of the front desk staff on the evening of 4/21. Policies can be enforced firmly without hostility or disrespect. As a loyal, paying customer, I expected a basic level of professionalism and human decency. Instead, my friend and I were met with eye-rolling, dismissive tone, and absolutely no willingness to communicate with empathy. I do not believe this could be reflected fairly on your "camera footage".
It is also extremely unprofessional that instead of reflecting on how the situation was handled, the studio chose to deflect all responsibility and shift blame entirely onto the customer in this public reply. This kind of defensive response, without any acknowledgment of the poor experience, only confirms my concerns.
To be clear: my issue is not with the policy itself. It is with how poorly it was communicated and enforced, and the attitude I received after years of supporting this business. I genuinely hope the studio can reflect on how such situations are handled in the future.
For anyone considering this studio: please be aware that even long-time clients may not be treated with the respect they deserve.
Extremely rude front desk staff, please avoid!! (Caucasian female, 730pm on 4/21) I have been to this Pilates for the past two years, never had a problem. However, today I was just one minute late and the front desk was being extremely rude and sarcastic to me and my friend and refused to let us even step into the store. I cannot accept such unprofessional and racist behavior. They also refuse to let us reschedule or refund the class, absolutely ridiculous!

It was absolutely unbelievable…..
I signed up for multiple classes in the past and have had a descent experience at this place, yet today left me speechless. My friend and traveled 50 mins to the place and there was a terrible delay on the subway, thus we had to run after getting off. I ended up tripping and falling.
We made it to the Pilates class at 7:35 and once we stepped in the door it was 7:36 the class was set at 7:30. The lady at the front desk would not let us in the class due to the fact that we were one minute late…. She was extremely dismissive and condescending…… While we ran the door bell at 7:33, waiting for her to open the front gate…..
now we are on the train back home :))))) great, thanks mate

Edit: i don’t think the instructor that i had when i got injured works there anymore so hopefully this should not be an issue for anyone else.
I took 5 classes here on classpass and was planning on taking many more. The studio is beautiful and spacious and the staff is great. However my last class here with Franceska on august 8th led to me having a slipped disc.
For this reason I can’t help but rate this place 1 star as even though all other instructors were great it just takes one instructor that isn’t vigilant or mindful of physical safety to get someone seriously injured.
The class only had two people in it so there really is no excuse for her not paying attention to form and keeping participants safe. We were doing scissor kicks and toe touches on the long box and in retrospect I do not see the benefit of doing these exercises on the long box as it just decreases back support. And lo and behold, I got a serious back injury.

When I first started coming to Avea I was a Pilates beginner but have since learned so much from the Avea staff and feel very comfortable with Pilates now. The staff is great and I’ve really enjoyed most teachers. Laura has become my favorite teacher because every class is different, she has a good balance of speed and slowness for maximum growth, and really cares about each individual’s personal development. I have taken friends with injuries to her class and she is so communicative to them about adjustments to help make the moves doable for them. Everyone at Avea cares that you understand what they are saying and wants to help you achieve your best Pilates self. I would selfishly love it if Laura had some 6:30am classes but understand that might not be doable. All in all, a great studio with talented staff and small classes sizes!

My work subsidizes Classpass and I used to come here often. I really enjoy the studio and teachers here however recently, the after work classes aren’t being opened up to classpass until the day before. I need to plan ahead more so unfortunately I need to find a studio that is more considerate.

absolutely horrible. they don’t even know their class schedules from east to west village location. booked a 12:30 and called to say i’m running late and asked if i can come to the 1:30 class. They said there might not be a class and i explained it takes me 20 minutes to get there. They call last minute for me to rush there and then they say there’s a private client and ask me to come to the 2:30 class. I hang around and come back at 2:30 for her to tell me she has another private client and yelling it’s my fault for being late! like you told me to come back at 2:30 and wasted my time. gross!! instructor was katie and this girl lea on the phone was screaming lol. and the audacity to yell at me on the phone. Like girl this is a fitness body mind class what is this attitude.

I love coming to this studio. It is pristinely clean, the air is filtered, machines are brand new and in top working order and sprayed down religiously. I took Pilates for years at another studio where I loved the instructors and hated the old machines and dirty space. I met with Avea’s owner during the pandemic and explained I’m at high risk for COVID. She made me so comfortable about their protocols that I took privates throughout the pandemic and have even started feeling safe taking classes. I’ve worked with at least 6 instructors - Celia, Chandler, Erica and others. They come from all over (Africa, Latin America, Eastern Europe, California!) and all are obsessed with correct Pilates form and a great workout. The vibe is fun, music is great and privates are amazing on reformer and Cadillac. Especially if you have an issue (knee, neck, back) the teachers learn your body and adapt workout to help fix problem. Other students have told me the East Village and Murray Hill locations are equally wonderful. I go 3-4 x a week when work permits! It is simply awesome and well run. Best workout!

This Pilates club is worth every penny I pay for it: few months ago I start training in private sessions at the west village location. I came to them after trying and shopping around for long time, without finding the right place I truly desires. Avea west village is one of the most cleanest Pilates place I ever observed. It's getting cleaned on hourly base, after every training, and it dose not meter if it was a group, or just me, with my private section. In everywhere i found highly hand sanitizes, smell like lavender. All the place made in white color: white leather furnitures, the news pilates machines - all: the best for my money.
My trainer, Erica, is from Brazil, and is amazing. Really working hard with me and understand my needs. The other class which always was busy, are woking out all the time, and it is nice to see how many other choose to pick-up this wonderful pilates club, and to have the joy to the body shaping, in this wonderful and special pilates place. Highly recommended!!!!

I have found all the instructors here to be great. Because of the small class size, they learn your name and make you feel appreciated. Great, positive energy and will offer corrections as needed. They are also very patient, so I never feel bad when I don't know what's happening. I feel like the pace and energy is a better fit for me than some other reformer studios. This is not a real pilates studio there is only reformer and the instructors are really not that good. I took class with owner and it was just so bad. This place is wonderful! Prior to Covid, I went to two classes at the East Village location and loved it. Last Sunday, I had a private session with Liron and another one today with Anne. I also got to meet the owner briefly today, and she is lovely. They all are, honestly. This was all at East Village location. Also got to have an amazing session with Greg at the West Village location a few days ago. All-around fantastic staff and both locations are really nice. I can't wait for things to get back to somewhat normal so that group classes can start again. Until then, I fully intend to keep up with the open sessions and 1-on-1's. I've missed Reformer Pilates soooo much during Covid and just super happy to be able to be back in a studio!!!!!!!

Where does one even begin?! I've been a regular Avea client now for 11 months (east village location) and I can honestly say my life has drastically improved because of it. So happy to see the studio growing!
As an avid athlete growing up and always believing that a workout is only productive if I feel like passing out at the end of it, Pilates has been a glorious and welcomed change. I walk in tired and leave feeling revitalized and energized for the day ahead. I started this journey with achy joints and this studio has provided me the ability to repair and rebuild what was keeping me in pain. Avea's approach makes you feel right at home and makes you feel like even if your first class you begin with zero coordination (me!) you are welcome here and you are capable and you will get stronger.
The studio overall is bright, clean, and extremely well kept. The studio owner, Carrie, is a burst of light and energy. She is extremely knowledgeable and personable and Avea reflects that. All of the instructors lead unique and challenging classes and even after a diligent almost 11 months, I've never tired of any of the instructors or classes. I feel challenged each time I go. I often would ask if Pilates will ever get easier, and the simple answer is no; I'll continue to be challenged, but I will get stronger, more flexible, and therefore always improving.
