Professional and hard workout!
But it’s always fun to be pushed to your absolute limits. Very effective.
Since I started with Barry’s at Scarsdale most classes so far with Janet K. (I guess) I see the physical change. Coming everyday for almost 3 months now, have lost about 22 lbs without any diet.
Just being committed!
I feel more myself, I stay fit and found my love back in diverse other sports.
My journey just started 😉.

I just took my very first Barry’s Bootcamp class, and wow—what an experience! Jon was my instructor, and he absolutely crushed it. From the second I walked in, he brought the energy, made me feel welcomed, and explained everything clearly, which helped ease my nerves as a first-timer.

His coaching style is the perfect mix of motivating and encouraging without being intimidating. He pushed us to our limits, but also reminded us to listen to our bodies and modify when needed. I left the class feeling exhausted in the best way—and already excited for the next one.

Huge shoutout to Jon for making my first class such a positive and empowering experience. Can’t wait to be back in the Red Room! 🔥💪

I've taken classes with all of the coaches and have thoroughly enjoyed my experiences with each of them. You will not be disappointed with this powerhouse group of instructors! There is one coach; however, who I need a character-limit for in this review because she is my absolute FAVORITE instructor ANYWHERE. I'm lucky that my work allows me to travel to the Westchester and NYC areas on a regular-basis, and I make it a priority to schedule a class (or classes, I should say!) with Janet anytime I can.

As someone who has been active my whole life (and who also has a background in group fitness and personal training), Janet's classes ALWAYS leave me feeling excited, motivated, and challenged. Her energy is infectious, she gives EXTREMELY clear cues, she transitions the floor team one exercise to the next while timing the treads seamlessly (her breath control is unparalleled), and (in my opinion) she has the best selection of music. Her programming NEVER feels "tired" or basic; you can always tell she's put a lot of thought into planning out a class full of exercises and compound movements to ignite the targeted muscle groups of the day. Each time I am in Janet's classes she introduces me to a new combination of movements paired with tempos on the floor. I am often humbled (in the best way!) taking her classes, and I appreciate how observant she is while coaching--always finding the right time to praise someone for their hard work just when they need it.

Nothing pumps me up more than hearing Janet's iconic "WORK!" in class. She is everything a Chief Instructor for Barry's should be and a terrific ambassador for the brand. Thank you, Janet, and the entire Barry's-dale team for making the 50 minutes I get to spend at this studio consistently the best 50 minutes of my day!

Took advantage of a free class offered by John F on his Instagram. Class was great, just not the type of workout I am ready for on a regular basis.

Facility was clean, well-maintained and staff was friendly. No traditional locker rooms; just 2-3 bathrooms (very nice) with a single shower in each.

I would like to say more, but because it wasn’t “my type” of workout, being such a fitness beginner, I don’t want to give a negative spin or perspective. If bootcamp HIIT is your thing, this location of Barry’s is definitely worth checking out. Easy access, easy parking, and nice facility, if not slightly cramped in the “red room.”

I may be back in the future as my fitness journey evolves.

I learned about Barrys through a health app. I left my previous gym and have been looking for other options. I booked my session online through the app for my first class. I arrived about 15 minutes before the start of the class, and I was immediately checked in. The place was small, but the staff was very friendly and helpful. Before class I was introduced to the instructor and given a brief tour of the classroom aka the red room.
Once the class starts the doors to the red room are opened and you can go to your assigned treadmill or spot. In my opinion, the classes definitely do NOT cater to beginners. I'm not a beginner but I went at my own pace anyway especially on the treadmill. I definitely plan to take more classes because I did like that the classes were a challenge and far from easy. The only downside for me was that the classes are very expensive.

I live in London but spent a week in Westchester and took several Barry’s classes with Janet while I was there this summer. She is great. Great workout, super challenging, she does a good job of repeating the instructions so that you stay in sync, and the floor exercise combinations were smooth progressions. I also thought the playlists were very good. I’ve gone to Barry’s at a lot of locations around the world and her classes were some of the best. The only downside to this location is that they have very limited shower facilities and the front entrance area is small with no seating so can feel a little crowded and awkward (where do I stand without getting in the way?) when classes are full.

As a devout fitness enthusiast who divides time between lifting heavy and high-intensity interval training, I have sampled many workout destinations across the tri-state area. Among these, Barry's stands out as a paramount institution for HIIT, with its Scarsdale location as my go-to spot.

Having experienced Barry's in NYC, precisely the UES and Chelsea locations, where I had the privilege of being trained by the illustrious Eric Wilson, I've grown accustomed to the intensity and passion Barry's brings to the workout world. When I began frequenting Barry's Scarsdale, I found it more affordable than its city counterparts and significantly easier for securing those last-minute bookings - perfect for someone who prefers a more spontaneous workout schedule like myself.

The Scarsdale facility is well-maintained and modern, providing an environment that calls for a vigorous sweat session. But where this Barry truly shines is in its top-notch roster of instructors. Their dedication to ensuring a quality workout is commendable, though, at times, I find myself yearning for a more intense push. While exceptional in their craft, the Scarsdale crew often instruct with a gentle hand, reminiscent of a mother's tender encouragement to a child.

Understand; I appreciate the kindness, but when stepping into Barry's, I'm not looking for a comforting pat on the back - I'm there for the boot camp-style, grueling, no-mercy drill sergeant style of motivation. As a seasoned Barry's attendee, I know how to push my boundaries and get the most out of the workouts.

The sessions at Barry's Scarsdale never fail to leave me in a state of exhilaration, drenched in sweat, with at least 500 calories lighter. Knowing that I've tested my limits and come out the other side stronger is a brilliant feeling.

In conclusion, while I yearn for a dash more 'tough love' from the instructors, Barry's Scarsdale remains a stellar workout destination that never fails to deliver. It's an intense, rewarding, and empowering experience that deserves nothing less than a five-star rating.

So, if you're in the Scarsdale area and in search of a challenging yet gratifying workout, don't hesitate to book a session at Barry's. Here's to pushing our limits and achieving our fitness goals - one Barry's workout at a time!

Absolutely LOVE Barry's! Walking in is like walking into Cheers-everyone knows your name. The staff is super friendly and more importantly very welcoming. All the instructors are fantastic and the music is bumping'. First and foremost I noticed that they take social distancing very seriously and are very mindful of cleanliness. That to me is paramount in this current situation with COVID.

I have not been to a gym in a number of years so I was invited to give Barry's a try.

Janet was the personal trainer on duty; she kept everyone motivated and even called people out by their names to give everyone a personal touch of detention. The treadmill workout not only was various in the speed sets that she commanded that we do, the floor work or ground work with and without weights was also very challenging. I realized what my limits were and how to go beyond them as well.

After the workout I felt great with a sense of accomplishment. Everyone was so friendly and actually knew each other by their first names. The staff was also very polite and friendly with great senses of humor. Refreshments were also available in addition to sportswear for those who want to personalize their sense of fashion.

My trip to New York would not have been complete without having this experience. I'm now motivated to keep fit. I strongly recommend you visit Barry's and give one of their workouts to try. Ask for Janet, and tell her Mr EL referred you.

I can't say I'm terribly impressed with Barry's Boot Camps. Yes the staff is terrific and the teachers or coaches are high energy people. My issue is is that the spaces are very tight and it's very claustrophobic. Also, the bathroom facilities are not designed properly for the multitude of people that they have in a class. At very best, 2 women and 2 men can occupy 4 bathrooms. How ridiculous is that? There are no evening classes Monday through Saturday. Are you only accommodating early morning people and housewives? What sense does this make? You can fill 2 classes a night 1 at 730pm at 830pm very easily. These boot camps are also very expensive if you want to do them several times a week. So let's be clear, we have tight quarters, mediocre bathroom facilities, expensive class memberships and no evening classes. Those classes would be filled most likely instantaneously in this wealthy village. With the amount of money earned per class less the instructor and other fees, it is seemingly well in the range of this company to hold classes in the evenings. Make everyone happy?!

I dropped in for a class from Toronto and I have to say that it was so great I am writing one of my first google reviews. The trainers were so welcoming, encouraging and inspiring. The program was the perfect level of tough. It was a great location for me as I wasn't staying in the core of NYC. It made my whole work trip here better. Thanks to the amazing coaches Al who led a killer work out with such enthusiasm and Janet who hopped in the class and smoked the treadmill and inspired me to run my heart out. You guys change lives. The first class I took was fantastic. The music was good and the instructor was superb. His name was Alex. The second time we took a class it was with Janet. She blasted the music, the music was terrible. No one could hear anything that she was saying. And she acted. as though she could care less about those who were in the class. Absolutely awful.
