Bear Mountain Strength and Fitness is a results-driven strength and conditioning facility. We offer a variety of programs at our facility for all levels and we meet our clients based on what their needs are. Our program is designed to be scalable for all individuals, making it the perfect regimen for anyone, regardless of previous fitness experience. Our commitment as coaches is to provide our clients with the knowledge, skills and motivation to realize their fitness potential.

I dropped in here while I was in the area for a couple of months, and it was awesome. Melissa (the owner) replied super promptly when I first inquired, and made the whole process really easy and welcoming. The coaches are all friendly, knowledgeable, and great at helping with form or scaling when needed. The workouts were tough!!! but fun, with a nice mix of strength and conditioning.

Most everyone was so friendly and supportive. The gym itself is clean, well-organized, and has everything you need.

If you’re in the area, definitely check it out! 😉

Bear Mountain Strength and Fitness is great! I’ve been doing CrissFit for six months and was happy to find this place after my recent move. The coaches and members are welcoming and supportive. Coach Reba and Coach Ann have been amazing — my skill level has increased in the two weeks I’ve been here and I know they’ll continue to help me be the best I can be!

Bear Mountain CF is not only a gym it's a community of people focused on their own fitness, and they are a family dedicated to yours. Everyone celebrates when you accomplish your personal goals. The encouragement from the coaches and members has given me the ability to finish the most challenging of WODs and accomplish goals I never thought would have been possible. They are an amazing family and I look forward to working out with them as much as possible.

I have been a member of Bear Mountain Crossfit for almost 5 years and I couldn't imagine working out anywhere else. The sense of community makes it feel like a second home. Besides having knowledgeable and supportive coaching and a great group of people to work out with, Bear Mountain Crossfit gives back to the community many times throughout the year. You may be in pretty good shape, but unless you try CrossFit you'll never maximize your potential. CrossFit will bring your fitness to another level and bring you a new appreciation for hard work at the gym. I've always thought I was fit, but Im far from CrossFit fit. It is both humbling and motivating. Bear Mountain CrossFit has sooo many great people with different abilities, different body types, different strengths and weaknesses, but EVERYONE works hard. Coaches are knowledgeable and there's a friendly welcoming atmosphere. I highly recommend that you schedule a visit to Bear Mountain CrossFit.

Bear Mountain CrossFit is the best place I’ve worked out ever. All the coaches are awesome and the owner, EJ, is my regular coach in the mornings. She never misses a day to cheer you on and give a tip to improve. It’s been a little less than a year since I first walked in, and everyday I’m glad I did. I’ve feel stronger everyday and have made some great friends. Never have I woken up at 5am with a smile so much as I do now.

At first I was very hesitant, once I decided to give it a try I never looked back. It is one of the most welcoming gyms you will ever be a part of. Doesn’t matter your fitness level. It’s inclusive for everyone and genuinely the best time you will have exercising. You won’t regret it.

I joined Bear Mountain Crossfit a few months ago and I have never felt so comfortable and at home in a gym. Wether you are a new or a seasoned athlete the coaches take the time to make sure your doing things correctly. If your form is right they know just when its time to push you further. I joined this past Nov and it’s truly a great environment. Everyone here wants you to succeed and they help you get through the tough workouts. The coaches are so supportive and push you to become better because they believe in you. I needed structure and to be held accountable to get my workouts in, and I get both here. It was intimidating at 1st because it’s nothing like a typical gym, but everyone has made me feel welcome since day 1. Would highly recommend to anyone interested!

I have been a member of Bear Mountain CrossFit since the summer of 2017. The coaches EJ and John are fantastic, they take the time to ensure that you are performing the workouts and lifts correctly to avoid injury. The crew of members here is fantastic as well. I recently moved to the area, and had to switch gyms to be closer to my home. Most crossfitters know that when you have a home gym that you love, the thought of switching hurts your heart. But I have been made to feel so welcome here. The sense of community here is rivaled by few. I'd encourage anyone who is looking, whether just for a drop-in or a new home, to come give us a try. I just turned 61 and am in the best shape of my adult life—and it’s all because I walked into this gym over two years ago and said, ‘Yes.’ Owner EJ and all the other coaches are encouraging, supportive, and ever-so-patient. Bear Mountain Crossfit has changed my life! I can't explain how much of an integral part of my life BMCF has become. The hourly classes are constantly varied and are able to be done by professionals and newbies alike thanks to their scaling options. Coach EJ and Coach John are knowledgeable, and caring, and will do anything they can to help you succeed. The gym is always cleaned up after a day of sweat angels and chalk dust and there's always new stock in the retail store to peruse.

I've been going to this CF for roughly two years now and I can honestly say that I have never left feeling unhappy or displeased. The community is amazing; everyone who walks into BMCF is friendly, supportive, and are willing to lend a helping hand wherever they can. There's fundraisers, toy drives, and socials, all of which provide a sense of belonging. I've never felt this at home at a gym before! I went from attending these classes 5x a month to 5x a week, all with the gentle encouragement from my coaches. This is my favorite place to be! I cannot say enough great things about Bear Mountain CrossFit. At first I was nervous about joining because I was new to weight lifting, but the staff is so wonderful they explained everything thoroughly until I felt comfortable with each movement. The warm, open and instructive environment continues to make me feel comfortable, challenged and most importantly safe during each class. The people are so wonderful and welcoming that this place feels more like a community than just your standard gym. I am getting in the best shape of my life because of Bear Mountain CrossFit! Bear Mountain CF is my happy place! With 3 small children and a very hectic life, BMCF is the place I can go to get away from all the stresses and anxieties of life!!! The people there are so welcoming and helpful and go above and beyond to help anyone they see that needs it. EJ is the most amazing coach and a very dedicated and professional owner. She treats people with respect and will guide you in the right direction. Her as well as Coach John (-(also amazing) will give special individual time to each and every member! They will never push too hard and will never let you feel uncomfortable with what you’re doing. I could have never imagined I would be at the CF level I am at today after only a year of being there. I’ve learned to keep pushing myself and to always try, even if I know I will fail. I’ve also learned that failing is okay, and such an important part of the process!
EJ and John also organize hikes, 5Ks, and fund raisers along with so many other things to get us all out as a group to do special things together. She has motivated me to reach so far and beyond outside my comfort zone to where I don’t even recognize myself anymore. I am so happy with the person I have become and owe it all to her and my family at BMCF. From the second you walk in you will love it, and will quickly have an amazing home away from home! It’s my favorite time of day and by far my favorite place to be❤️

I’ve been to 2 other Crossfit gyms but Bear Mountain Crossfit is really special. The coaches pay attention to every athlete and are knowledgeable in what they are doing. They really take care of you in and outside of the gym by checking in on you from time to time. The other members are so supportive which makes this gym feel like a home away from home. I’ve reached so many milestones in terms of building strength and i know a huge part comes from the positive supportive community at this gym.

I have been a member at BMCF for about 7 months now, so I felt it would be appropriate to update my initial review. That being said, BMCF has been a life-changing experience. I have achieved goals that I thought were a figure of my imagination, I've met new friends, and have gain self-confidence like never before. Thank you EJ and John for all of your hard work, dedication, and genuine concern about our goals and overall health. Although I understand that I have plenty of room for improvement, I know that I'll achieve each movement and strength component with y'alls guidance. I was in town for work and dropped in to Bear Mountain and it is an awesome space to workout! EJ welcomed me and showed me around, and John was an awesome coach for the classes I attended. I recently started here at Bear Mountain CrossFit. From day one everyone was very nice and welcoming, you feel at home the moment you walk through the door. I came here to try to get in better shape and I can say in just a short time I am already feeling great (and noticing a flatter belly lol). Considering this is all new to me I am starting out slow but I can totally feel a difference already in my conditioning and overall well being. I am feeling stronger, my legs (which were always a weak point and have had previous injuries) are starting to feel stronger and more stable. The camaraderie here is also amazing. Everyone here is very supportive and really push you. This is only the beginning and I am very much looking forward to continuing here with the great people of Bear Mountain CrossFit.

I can’t say AWESOME things about Bear Mountain Crossfit! It has completely changed my life. I am in the best shape of my life at almost 40yrs old. The coaching staff is amazing and they are always adding new equipment and toys to the Box (Crossfit speak for gym lol). The members are like family and so many fun times happen outside as well from book clubs, to hikes, to trips to movies. Take the opportunity and go TODAY! I started at Empire State Crossfit North roughly one year ago. I was apprehensive about starting, as this was my second go at Crossfit and I hadn't been as physically active as I had once been. Coach EJ was helpful from day one. She lays out many options for the workouts, so if I couldn't do one thing I could try something else. This is great, as no one ever feels excluded from a workout. I especially like how each movement is broken down into steps prior to the workout, making complex moves more easier to understand and master.

After joining ESCF-North, I cannot possibly imagine myself going to any other gym, whether it be another Crossfit affiliate or traditional gym.
