About the Club

Bhakti Center Yoga is a welcoming yoga studio in the East Village. Our talented teachers weave the timeless wisdom of Bhakti Yoga throughout vinyasa yoga and meditation classes. Described by Country & Town House as "quite a vocal form of yoga", you can expect classes to include kirtan, mantra music and meditation, and wisdom from the Bhagavat Gita in all of our offerings.
It’s a studio of authentic learning, and a great place to meet new people, make lasting relationships, and find inspiration and support on the spiritual path.

I have been searching for a new studio which is not easy to come by, but Bhakti center was a great find when sifting through all the studios in the city. Went to the Yin Yoga class and really enjoyed. Looking forward to attending more

Bhakti center is now my favorite yoga studio. I’d heard about it from a friend and started coming here after a teacher I really liked (MaryAllison) started teaching here. Each teacher has their own style so I encourage you to try multiple teachers. So far I’ve gone to classes with Jamuna, Brinda, Pooja and Vera - all have been amazing but somewhat different in pace for the Bhakti Flow classes, with Jamuna’s Monday class being the fastest and Vera’s Friday class being just what I need to slow down and end the week (still a challenging class though). What I really love about Bhakti center is that it’s not just a yoga center, it’s a cultural, spiritual center, and so they weave yogic philosophy into each class. I can honestly say it’s been helping me cope much better with every day stressors of life far beyond the yoga mat, and for that I am forever grateful. Thank you to all of the teachers and staff at the Bhakti center 🙏🏼

I have been to 3 classes here so far and have absolutely loved each one. All the instructors are so prepared and thoughtful about the needs of each student. I love the studio too - it's very clean and cozy. Miles is also so great! I booked the wrong class, and he was so helpful in getting me the help I needed. Will definitely continue coming here in the future - cannot recommend it enough!

What a wonderful place! I have taken both a yoga class here and attended their Tuesday night Kirtan and have had lovely experiences at both of these things. You truly feel a sense of community, generosity, and abundance every time you enter the space. Great place for both yoga and to explore the teachings behind it.

I have been to the Bhakti Center a few times and have brought friends back with me because of how much I love it. The ambiance of the studio is so beautiful and relaxing. I always look forward to the classes because they are a mix of relaxation and challenge, and the teachers give very helpful hands on adjustments to help you strengthen your poses. In just a few sessions I have seen so much improvement in myself thanks to this studio!

I have attended a few classes at the Bhakti Centre and have always had a great experience. The teachers are all experienced yoga instructors and the classes are well attended but not overcrowded. There are free mats and plenty of props available. The studio itself is clean, airy and calming. There is a vestibule where you can leave your shoes and jackets, and space inside the room for your valuables so that they are safe. It is in a great location too - just on 1st and Hudson.

I’ve been a student of dozens of yoga studios across the city and will always come back to the Bhakti Center. There is so much heart here, and that’s what makes it special. Classes are rooted in a deeper connection to the yoga, so they can be unexpectedly transformative. I always end up chatting with other students, I always feel welcome, I always feel seen. I can say that the Bhakti Center has helped me grow in so many ways. Gorgeous studio space, too.

The Bhakti Center is such a treasure of the East Village/ Lower East Side. It's a thriving spirituality community, yoga center, ashram, and temple. Since first attending the Bhakti Center's Kirtan 5 years ago, I've met countless amazing + inspiring + wise people there, found great spiritual community, and I even joined them for one of their amazing retreats abroad (a Kirtan week in Mexico). Whether checking out Thursday night Kirtan or a yoga class, or one of many offerings, I highly recommend the Bhakti Center.

Bhakti Center has been my spiritual home and community for many years now. After I completed a yoga teacher training in India, I searched for a yoga studio that would reflect my studies there— and provide the full spectrum of yoga, not just asana (poses). I wanted to go deeper into the philosophy of yoga. When I found Bhakti Center- that was it! I was hooked. The yoga teachers here are humble, knowledgeable, compassionate and truly want to provide a space where folks in NYC can come to meditate on who they truly are beyond the body and the mind. Bhakti Center is a sanctuary, an oasis, in the middle of busy and intense Manhattan! I’m so grateful to all of my teachers and fellow yogis I’ve met at this space during yoga, kirtan, Bhagavad Gita philosophy groups and beyond.

The city is an exhausting place. No matter how burnt out or stressed I am, the Bhakti center is my place where I can get to recharge and calm down. Whether it’s taking a yoga class, singing/ listening to kirtan or meeting people in a community class, there is always something to help me, get strong and centered and reconnected so I can face the city and life better than before.

I’ve been coming to the Bhakti Center for many years and every single time I step into the building I feel home. It is such a beautiful sanctuary in this busy city and the Bhakti just creates this beautiful space of peace, community and love! If you have not visited I highly recommend you do so, take one of the beautiful yoga classes or join the Kirtan!

My favorite part about the Bhakti Center yoga is the spirituality waved into every yoga class, every event and venue. This place ignites my soul and it will ignite yours! 💜
