Canceled my gym membership because the door installment is absolutely horrible. I can’t even enter or exit the gym without having to wait 5 minutes to scan a QR code.

This gym has gotten worse since the sale to Pure. Machines are not repaired and they implemented a new system where you have to scan in and enter a chamber which does not work half the time. This is at best a nuisance and at worst a fire hazard.

Honestly the PureGym rebrand has been terrible. Less staff, broken machines, a lot less clean, and the entry pods are the most claustrophobic things imaginable.
Three of the four stationary bikes have been broken for over a month and no one seems to care, if there’s anyone even to tell.
This gym is a total joke and wouldn’t recommend it anyone at this point.
Just put it back the way it was before.

Why did they randomly decide to blast the music here. I cant even drown it out with my headphones anymore.

Would never recommend this gym. I've been a loyal member for years, and this gym has reached a new level of incompetence. For a month and a half, no one bothered to tell me my membership wasn’t even active. Today, I was forced to “re-sign up” like a brand-new member, and now I’m stuck paying the new member monthly fee instead of the rate I’ve had for years.
The customer service here is beyond awful, unresponsive, careless, and completely unprofessional. To make matters worse, the gym itself is tiny (feels like a shoebox) and dirty as ever with old equipment. I’ve never dealt with a more frustrating experience.

PUREGYM is letting us in the neighborhood down ALREADY. Sundays the site says the gym opens at 7am. I’m currently standing outside with a group of at least 10 people waiting for the doors to open…it’s 7:10 and counting!

I hate the men who work at this gym, they wander into the women’s locker room while we’re in there changing and stood there arguing when we called them out and they invade personal space even when it’s a safety risk. Literally just had a personal trainer come set weights behind me in my landing space while I was doing handstands and then argue with me when I told him it was unsafe to do that. The male staff here makes me so uncomfortable I usually walk an extra 20 minutes to the broadway location.

Janitors will stand right next to your machine while you are working out and talk to their friends, extremely annoying and unsafe when working out especially on treadmills. They also clean the bottom of the treadmills while you are on them, dangerous activity when you are at high speeds

No 3rd floor access for people with disabilities. Front desk shrugged it off. How is someone who pays to access your gym going to use the machines that are supposed to aid in physical therapy and use the bathroom. Something to think about.

The transition to Pure Gym has been horrible. They will only allow you access to the gym membership you pay for if you download their app on a smartphone.
Their website is intentionally broken. You cannot use the browser of your phone or any other means of scanning in. Good luck people without smartphones, people who forgot their phones, people who are out of storage space, people who have old phones unable to be updated to run new software, or people that simply do not want another app on their phone trying to aggregate their personal data to sell. And, insult to injury, the passwords of all gym members were mass reset. If someone knows your name, email, and birthday—extremely public information for most people—they can access your home address, phone number, and bank information as a treat.
This place hates you, to the point there is no option for canceling besides using the app you explained is not an option for you for any of the above reasons.
In fact, they fully pulled up my active account and denied entry because I could not add their app on my device at the time of my visit. The staff was extremely unnecessarily rude about it as well. Slamming their hands on the desk and giggling. If you want to go to a crowded gym where the staff belittles you for asking politely if there is another way to use the gym membership you pay for, this is the place!
I eagerly await the class action that is almost certainly coming for trapping people who don’t have smartphones, and did not consent to a smartphone-only gym, in memberships.

This place is a joke. It’s always packed, good luck getting on a machine without wasting half your workout waiting. They love sneaking in random fees, and trying to cancel your membership is borderline impossible, even after moving out of state. Avoid this place unless you enjoy being ripped off.

They have so oversold memberships at this gym. I almost never walk in and see a bench free. So many people whether it’s 8am, 10am, 12pm, 2pm, 4pm, 6pm, 8pm, or 10pm. It is always too busy to get the workout in that I want to get in in a reasonable timeframe. It is completely exasperating to try to cancel, even if you’re moving continents. Half the staff is wonderful, half hate that you’ve walked in the building. I get that, I’ve worked lots of jobs I’ve not liked. I imagine half of it is people frustrated that they’ve sold 8k memberships when they only have the capacity for 4k. Equipment, as noted, is broken and inadequate. I wish they had a hip thrust machine or at least a real set up for one. They need four more benches (no one uses the upright one) at minimum. Maybe put a couple cable machines in that room that theoretically but never actually gets used for group classes. They don’t need to keep the treadmills that are broken. They do need an easier way to cancel a membership.

After 10+ yrs at blink I think this is were I call it quits. Finally got there early (6pm) to squeeze into a spot to get my workout on. This place is packed, and it only has one room on the first floor to where people aren't walking over your head when your on the floor. 15-20 mins in, person trainer comes in saying the room is closed. In a ridiculous packed gym! Nowhere to go but to stand a wait around for people to finish using the equipment you want to use. The last time they closed the room, I stood around till my sweat dried.
There's no daily announcement, no posting on the website or at the entrance, no emails, and no schedules. Just stop your workout and move along because we said so. Whoever made this decision to close to the room isn't paying attention the number of people who sign in, and given the amount of busted machines and the time it takes to fix, this goes a long perfect with their management style.

Worst staff ever. Seriously. They r so rude to you, but they’ll be smiling and happy with each other, so it’s not like they’re miserable or anything. They’re just rude. Besides that, and the fact that there’s no ventilation so the whole gym smells like sweat, it’s a decent, working gym. Just don’t expect good vibes or anything other than the constant smell of sweat.

Hi, I'm a frequent user of that gym. The truth is that many of the machines we actually use have been damaged for two weeks or more, and they haven't fixed any of them. We're paying for one use, and they don't give us the quality we paid for. They should fix them because they don't even make us want to go. We have to go farther away to other Blink gyms where the machines are new and very good. Thank you very much.

Hip abduction machine needs the cable tightening. The most important part of the range of motion for gains doesn’t provide any tension. Raised this months ago. Nothings happened.
Some of cardio bikes don’t pedal smoothly, the mechanism is grinding and is loud as you pedal.
AC Temperature is set way too high for a gym. People are here to workout. Hitting legs hard shouldn’t feel like being in a sauna.
Most of the front desk are friendly.

Apparently this gym is being bought out and maybe that explains why this place is decaying. Since I joined in October none of the broken machines have been fixed and more keep breaking. I’m currently at this gym waiting to use the 1 out of 7 working stairmasters.
My only hope is that the new company actually fixes the machines cause otherwise there’s no point in paying for a gym where things don’t work and less things will continue to work.

The best part of this gym is the staff. Most of them, particularly nubia and the other woman, are super helpful. They keep the gym clean and are super helpful. As far as the management of the gym, this could be better. Many machines are broken and out dated. Sometimes the stretching room is closed for private sessions with staff trainers, which is unacceptable.

I will probably continue going to this gym since it is a 30 second walk from my house but dear lord is it awful lol. So many machines are broken, no one bothers to fix it, the gym is always packed, and somehow they only have like 3 sets of barbells? The light ones I mean, they have 3 sets of 5 pound weights. That’s pretty insane for a gym that often fits 200 people at one time. Also why do the TVs seemingly only play ads, sometimes as archaic as the smile train. Airplane instruction videos offer better entertainment.

Blink needs another location in this area. It is constantly full of people. The overall stock of machines and equipment is great, but not for the amount of people it serves. It's annoying to spend so much downtime waiting for weightlifting equipment/machines to become available. The amount of people using the gym as a place to hang out is annoying; do your sets and be done. This isn't the place to be making out with your partner, nor having an extended conversation when people are waiting to use the equipmnt
Other than that, it's usually pretty clean. The staff are all helpful.

Im not one to leave negative reviews, but this place is just too small for the area it serves. I always have to modify my workout just so i do not have to stand around like an idiot waiting to use the equipment. The same group of teens get here before everyone else (8-10 of them at least) and record dumb tiktoks and hardly workout. The problem is that they occupy ALL of the benches and squat racks for hours. (DAILY) The staff here is friendly and they try their best to keep the place clean, but nothing is done about the machine hogging problem. (Understandably so, they do not make the most money why should they care.) The bathroom is usually disgusting and smells absolutely horrendous as well and unfortunately you have to walk past it on your way into the locker room/changing area (Poor design). I only come here because I live a 4 minute walk away from this gym, it would be dumb to take the train and go somewhere else. If you do not live around this blink, do not come here!!!!!

This blink stinks and is unhygienic. They do not have proper filtration systems or ventilation bc the BO just lingers. I’m sure they have over sold memberships bc it is constantly at capacity and if you don’t linger and wait for a machine you’ll never get a turn. I was just charged the yearly maintenance fee before I had the time to go cancel in person so I’m stuck trying to make use of the membership but the space is beyond unpleasant.

I had an extremely disappointing experience at Blink Fitness on Knickerbocker Avenue. The gym is consistently overcrowded, making it impossible to complete a full workout. Broken equipment adds to the frustration, and the presence of teenagers further disrupts the environment. The facility's cleanliness is questionable, with silverfish crawling on the floor. The uninterested and often teenage staff contribute to an overall unpleasant atmosphere. I would rate it zero stars if possible.

This gym is entirely too crowded. Much worse than this is the cancellation fee. If you want to cancel, you have to give them forty five days’ notice. So in the event you want to cancel immediately, you have to pay them for one and half months more. People have many legitimate reasons to want to cancel immediately. Maybe you had a sudden life change and have to move in a hurry, or you were injured and can no longer attend the gym, or maybe you just found out a location is too crowded to be worth your time attending and you no longer want to go back. Blink does not care, and will take your money anyway. This fee is in their membership agreement, but nobody reads all the terms of those long agreements, so a clause like this exists entirely to abuse the limited attention of their members. To have a policy like this demonstrates an utter contempt for consumers. Nobody should go to Blink fitness while this bogus cancellation fee is on their books.

Relatively hard to reach by phone. Bum cancellation policy, contract has extensive fine print fees, apparently you have to cancel in person (which???? I would love to know why this is necessary? it seems like a trap), so note that if you may move away, there is a 45-day cancellation charge, and it smells and is packed :) But eh, it is relatively cheap, right? Most of the people I spoke to on the phone were nice but this isn't a chain I would go back to or recommend at all. You're much better off paying for a small business quality gym. You will actually want to use it and you won't get nickeled and dimed with obscure fees. (Including a 70+ dollar charge at the three month mark for quote "annual fees") Honestly just happy I was finally able to cancel and not look back. It's really annoying because it seems others have had very similar experiences. I've even had a better experience at Planet Fitness, at least those extend beyond NYC.

The gym is fine, I had a great time going with my friends. However…in 2019 I spent three months calling to try and cancel my membership because I knew I was moving. I had multiple employees tell me it was cancelled but they kept charging my card. I went online to try and cancel it. Yet they kept charging my card. I thought, well I might as well get a new card number and move on so they won’t keep charging me once I’m gone…It’s 2022 and they’ve hit me with a collection notice for the months I “didn’t pay” during which I wasn’t going to the gym. I haven’t lived in Bushwick for years now, I wasn’t using the gym. My credit score went down last week drastically as a result. I’m in the process of looking for a new place and it seems like I won’t be approved because of my credit score. I’m frustrated at this. It feels so unfair.

To quote the meme. It ain’t much but it’s honest. There’s a good equipment selection but no repeats so off peak hours are Greta and on peak is rough.

设备齐全。由于地方不大,显得人太多、甚至拥挤。管理者应该考虑一下如何改善这个问题。

Too crowded during pick times, and there is a lack of equipment compared to the size of the crowd, and you have to wait for a long time to be able to practice. The lockers do not have locks, so you have to bring your own lock every time.

I hate to give such a low rating but I was lied to about the cancellation fee.
I asked for a 1 month membership, which they told me was possible.
The lady that helped me sign up told me I had to cancel after 5 days and 10 days prior to the next charge, so I would not get charged cancellation fees. Well as I went into the gym today the guy that was working there had no idea what I was talking about and just let me stand there, not being helpful at all. Long story short I was charged an additional 27$.

We received a free trial at Blink while we were visiting NY. The staff are so helpful, we will definitely take up a membership here when we move back!

this gym has a glitch where random teenagers spawn in the hundreds and just stand around like NPCs for a few hours.
the last time I saw an available free weight there was pre-pandemic. I was a different person then…

I have worked out at several Blink gyms in Manhattan/Brooklyn and had a great experience in all of them. However, the Bushwick branch is terribly run. I WAS LIED TO AND MISLED ABOUT THE AMOUNT OF MONEY I would be charged:
1. I was told I was signing up for a special offer wherein I will be charge $1 for the first 30 days. This did not happen as I was charged the entire amount from the start.
2. I was told if I cancel my month-to-month member before the end of the second month, I will not be charged the $60 annual membership fee. This again was a lie.
When flagging these issues, the employees at the desk routed me to the Assistant Manager, Frankie who made me wait 3 weeks to return my call and was incredibly arrogant on the call. He acknowledged that I was misled by his employees and his justification was that they were still in training. However, he refused to refund any of the erroneous charges. They are out to swindle money out of you!

Doesn’t matter what time of day you go it’s always pack. Long waits for squat racks even at 5 am. You have guys vaping inside the gym. Little high schoolers taking up a whole section. Only reason I come here is because it’s right around the corner otherwise I wouldn’t.

Good bang for your buck but this gym is always busy especially after 5pm and on weekends. If you’re on a budget, have a flexible work schedule and want just the basics, then it’s worth it.

Scam gym. You’re better off spending more money at a decent gym.
Edit: It's a welcoming environment. I paid more than was advertised for an extremely crowded gym and had to pay to cancel. If you sign up for only 2-3 months you will pay a lot more than $20/mo.

Really love the vibe of this gym! They've got so many stations and areas to work out - most everything you need. I never wait more than a few minutes for a machine. Best of all, I had a great time learning pullups with Ramy during my complimentary personal training sessions. He's knowledgeable and truly cares - someone who enjoys supporting people on their fitness journeys. Try to book him if you can!

This location and Myrtle ave are legitimately the most frustrating gyms to work out in. It doesn’t matter what time of the day you come - early late afternoon - you have to wait upwards of 25 minutes to use a squat rack/Bench unless you wait religiously for it. No joke, you CANNOT walk away from a machine or get out of the “line” unless you’re prepared to wait again. The dumbbells are ALWAYS MISSING - you essentially have to use whatever’s left (which is usually 40+ lbs ) Ive never encountered this issue at a Blink before besides these two locations.
Terrible gym etiquette all around, people hang out and hog machines with their friends, and the staff is whatever about it because they can’t really change or control the glaring issues with these locations - There just isn’t enough equipment to service the crowd that comes here. As soon as a better gym opens up nearby, I’m out.
