This place has continued its decline since the PureGym takeover. There's now multiple broken pieces of equipment, holes in the floor, and dirt everywhere. They’ve eliminated the apple card feature from the old app that allowed tap to enter, and now require you to open the PureGym app every time. Previously I could leave my phone at home and just use my Apple Watch - no more.
PureGym has made an effort to "improve" the space by installing two "booty" machines that no one uses, along with massive signage announcing them. The machines and signage take up incredibly valuable space on the second floor, to the point where it's challenging to stand there when waiting for a squat rack. Should have just installed another squat rack! They are always in demand.

Excellent overall experience and I intend to spread the word. There’s one young lady who is a very talented people person. I believe her name is Teherrie. She deserves a raise and a bonus. Plus a managers position. 👍🏾

This place is absolutely horrible —find another gym to work out or be harassed regularly! Blink (or Pure Fitness) has launched an aggressive marketing campaign to force its members to download their app. It feels like coercion because they’re requiring you to do this or else you won’t be allowed to enter the facility.
The right thing to do would have been to inform members about these changes before renewing their yearly memberships. Instead, they just imposed this new policy without notice. I’ve been harassed for the last three months to download the app. This has happened at least three times already—each time they decide there’s a new app you have to install on your personal device, and they harrass you with the worst attitude every time you enter the gym
I joined the gym to use their equipment in exchange for a monthly and yearly fee. I never agreed to download their app onto my personal phone. Their insistence makes me think this new app might be collecting personal data to sell it. If it were only about signing in, they wouldn’t be so outrageously persistent about it. Or they would just simply make other options available like a scan key chain.
So, this will be my last year. I’m very much looking forward to ending my contract with Blink.

Just joined this gym online and went in for the first time. I was shocked to find that there are no paper towels / spray / cleaning supplies or even hand sanitizer anywhere. A lot of the equipment is sticky and sweaty. I have never been to a gym where there is not a culture of wiping things down after use and honestly, its pretty gross. Pure Gym is not giving pure vibes. What is going on here?

Walked in today ready to work out and hoping to get a membership at this location. Person running the front desk told me they had no clue what it costs to get a membership and that I should download the app. I had looked up the prices the day before and seen a promo code that would have allowed me to get a membership with no sign up fee, but wanted to try in person to see if there was a local deal. The person working at the front desk had no clue if there were any promos, and when I told them about the one I had seen told me I should try it on the app. I did and it didn't work.
Then they finally looked up the promo and informed me it ended yesterday. I was so frustrated by the entire experience that I walked out, down the street and to the nearby Planet Fitness, which was both a significantly better deal and much cleaner.
I would have preferred this gym as it is closer to my home, but if the staff literally can't sign you up for a membership than what is the point? This gym was half the cost two years ago and at least then you were greeted by people who made half an attempt to be kind. This location is an embarrassment.

I was recruited and told that I can just “try out the gym” I signed up for the NO COMMITMENT plan. I tried the gym and hated it. Fast forward the gym decided that it would be a great idea to charge me an additional 7-8 months and send the payment to collections. I had absolutely no idea I even owed anything because I was told that there was no commitment. This gym is committing fraud and scamming people into signing up.

Here’s a polished draft of your review—firm, detailed, and professional while still strongly negative:
I have been a long-standing member of Blink Fitness in Bed-Stuy, and the customer service here continues to be appallingly poor. This morning was yet another example of how little respect this location shows its members.
Without warning, Blink switched its check-in process and required every patron to download and register on the app before being allowed inside. At 5 a.m., this created a long, unnecessary line of frustrated members—many of us losing valuable workout time. When several of us asked why there had been no prior communication, the manager brushed us off with a smile and simply said there were “signs.” That answer is unacceptable. This is a gym with a front desk staff whose entire job includes greeting and checking in members. A simple, proactive statement like, “Starting next week, you’ll need to use the app to sign in,” would have avoided this chaos entirely.
The worst part was not the disruption itself, but the dismissive and condescending attitude of the manager. His rudeness was completely unprofessional and reflective of the poor training and culture Blink seems to tolerate. This is not a one-off experience either—this kind of tone and behavior is consistent at this location.
Yes, Blink is a lower-cost gym, but that does not excuse “sorry customer service.” Members deserve basic communication and respect. Unfortunately, because this is the only gym within walking distance in my neighborhood, I am stuck here for convenience. Otherwise, I would take my business elsewhere in a heartbeat.
Would you like me to make this punchier for Yelp/Google reviews (shorter, sharper, more impactful) or keep it more formal and detailed for something like an email complaint to corporate?

Writing a new review because maybe someone will see it and actually assist. There are no low level weights in this gym. I am attempting to do a Pilates workout and I can’t get a sound answer about getting 1,3,5,8 lbs weights. Feels like this gym is very sexist and is only for big muscle guys that want to lift 20lbs +up. I’ve even asked the manager and head of personal training if I can Amazon over the weight for the other women and older people to enjoy, but literally no response. This makes no sense, gyms should be inclusive and for literally something that cost $30 on Amazon, I’m sure you would make a lot of your customers feel supported when they are trying to make a consistent decision to support their health. So don’t respond to this comment without responding to my several emails please.

The Brooklyn area locations are always very accommodating and cool. The vibe altogether is just legit. The gym attendants are always warm and welcoming, which is a rarity compared to the Queens locations. I've actually had some good talks with many of the other gym goers here, I just dig the whole atmosphere, this is that type of gym I like the energy of.
That said the gym itself is decent. Can't call it perfect because I noticed the lack of one of my favorite machines, the ab press machine, but other than that, there were a good number of many other machines and they were all in working order. It's a two floor gym with the first of the floors being kinda narrow with a few treadmills and the locker room area and the upper floor is more or less the main one with a good view of outside of the gym. Pretty decent location that I'll be around more often.

Pros:
This is one of the few Blinks with windows, and the natural light is a massive bonus. The gym is relatively clean and staff is mostly attentive.
Cons:
There are, without exaggerating, typically 2-5 gymgoers filming themselves, or live streaming on the gym floor on a consistent basis at this Blink. Multiple gymgoers will also bring their personal trainers, resulting in several overlapping 1 on 1 sessions happening simultaneously. This sets up an environment that feels uncomfortable at best, with little personal space and a constant feeling that the gym is the playspace for influencers and closed minded clientele. Blink as a whole could crack down on these by implementing a policy that bars filming in their gyms.

Been going to the gym since it first open & this gym has not seen any real improvement, besides spacing. Definitely one of the WORST Blinks. Machines are outdated, sometimes they’re broken or you can’t use the straps on the bikes, it’ll always be crowded when you go.
People here have poor gym etiquette, trainers will take up multiple spaces and hog equipment. Many weirdos go here who have no social life and come to the gym more to chat and “make friends” and distract others from working out.
Bathroom ALWAYS dirty, hot water is coming out of the water foundation.
Only thing 2 stars about this gym is that it’s across the street from Foodtown, has great lighting and has 2 floors. I can’t say much about workers here, they change workers every 6 months..if an establishment ALWAYS has new employees, wonder why people don’t stay.
Go to Blink Gates or the other one down Fulton st!

The employees who work there are extremely nice however this facility is poorly maintained, MULTIPLE machines are consistently not working and It is crowded to the point of safety concerns. I understand it’s cheap but just know that it’s not worth the money.

It’s cheap but people here have no spacial awareness. They setup their tripods and other workout equipment so close to some of the machines, that you can’t use them. There appears to be no real standard for how to behave in a communal space.

The machines are taking over by a group for hours. When I went to use on I was verbally assaulted and he physically took out the clip to use the machine. Afraid that the situation was uncomfortable for me I went to ask for help with management all for them to brush it off. This lend me to believe that one or all of those guys work there. I talk with other members and they feel the same about that situation. No one should feel afraid and intimidated to work out or use the machine. Is this a management or a corporate issue.

The staff is great and the equipment is well maintained. What I find most annoying is the people who bring their own speakers, which blast above the gym's own sound system. Been coming here for 2 years now and the staff is friendly & helpful. They have all the basic equipment and it’s generally in good repair. However the clientele is not good. Despite there being loads of lockers, members pile their bags & jackets on equipment and the floor. Members often have their own speakers playing along with the music provided by the gym and this week, I saw a boombox. A BOOMBOX in a public gym! If you don’t like wearing a shirt while working out indoors, you’re also in luck because there are more than a few who enjoy doing that. And not 10 min ago, as I was walking out, someone was smoking a cigar inside the downstairs lobby. Repeat, INSIDE the lobby. I’ve had a gym membership for about 17 years, with multiple ownership groups & have worked out at no less than 15 different locations & this is by far the worst. It is clean, friendly & in good working order, however many people who work out here are selfish & have zero self-awareness. Go to a different location.

The worse experience I’ve had so far. They signed me upon a year garentiee without letting me know and even though I had no desire to. I wanted to give it a try and after 2~3 month I saw that I am not going to keep using the gym I found out I cannot cancel for another year. After that year they kept charging me and I found it to be super complicated to cancel subscription. They ended up charging me for more than a year without me using their gym. Is that how you make your money blink? Shame on you,I will make sure everyone around me know that’s how you treat costumers. This place is a scam. Just be aware! in March 2020 I signed up for a 45 days trial membership. I signed up and canceled the same day. But Blink is still trying to charge my credit card every month even after 1,5 years. I keep calling them to stop charging my credit card and every time they just stay the manager is not here! Stay away from Blink!

decent gym. just hate that they allow people to play music on their speakers in the morning. headphones should be enforced.

This is definitely a real hood/ghetto environment Blink center & I'm from the streets so I know. This location is dirty & tight, machines are always broken. All I can say it if you don't have to visit this location I'd advise you not to.

I came to this gym with my fiancée and I was very impressed with the clean environment. They had alcohol wipes in several locations throughout the gym. They took my temperature at the door and made sure I wore my mask properly. They were suited up with 2 whole floors of top of the line equipment. We had a fantastic workout and the full length mirrors were a special touch for admiring the guns 💪🏼. Thanks Blink ... I loved it !

I love this gym. It’s new and not over crowded. This location in Clinton Hill also has very new innovative equipment.

Generally over crowded, I can't imagine what it was like going here before covid since they have a limit now. There's just not enough racks or benches, you will always be waiting on one, meanwhile the cardio equipment is under 50% utilization at all times. Unfortunately there just isn't a lot of options for gyms in the area

Worst gym experience ever. I got a three day pass for 10 bucks a day. One year later they are still charging me for a membership. Do NOT join any Blink club.

This place is really nice but it's so busy. Every time I want to use a weight bench or squat rack I have to wait, sometimes for multiple people. I'm new to NY so maybe all gyms are like this.
