I used to love my gym. PureGym has made some unwelcome changes. I hate that we are forced to check in on an app. What happens if your phone is not working? In addition, I find it frightening that we will soon be forced to enter through doors which will (momentarily?) enclose you in a tiny space. What if they malfunction? What if you are claustrophobic? The checkin will be on a floor above the gym. You could get stuck and no one would be around.
Hopefully they will provide other options for entry. It would be nice if they would bring back membership cards so you could choose to use that instead of being forced to use the app.
A paying member should not be forced to own a smart phone.
I have loved it here but now it is becoming impersonal and it feels like it's becoming "profits over people". Naturally, prices have gone up too. I don't require new equipment. What we have is just fine if kept in working order. We could use a few more pull-down ropes.
I loved my basic gym with friendly people behind the front desk. Sad to see these changes and the entrance outright scares me.

Good gym for ringworms
**updated 11/19/2025:

No paper towels to clean for two straight days. Just wet rags. Your employees are doing what they can, clearly trying to make the best out of a bad situation. Don’t get the impression that this is their fault. Ownership…what are you doing?

Can’t beat the price and it’s generally pretty clean. I enjoy working out here over all but do wish there was more mat space. My only real complaint is that they are frequently out of paper towels to wipe down the equipment. It seems like something the managers could be more on top of ordering so that it doesn’t happen so often.

I came here to start working out because I had surgery in December of last year & I have to get flexible .Unfortunately I am with an program with Silver Sneakers & wasn't able to start because of a new system they're putting up. I was really frustrated but the manager Alfredo explained the situation and said to call back in 2 weeks. He was really apologetic about the situation. Give that man a raise!

I recently went to one of your blink fitness gym location at 252 Atlantic Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11201 on August 4, 2025 at approximately 1220 pm and I was racial discriminated and disrespected by one of your gym employees because I spoke Arabic on the phone but I wasn't loud and I had an middle eastern Arab features with an bread. The employee I'm referring to from that location is heavy set, braids, 5' 10, black, she wore glasses, and did not wear a name tag. She didn't announce herself who she is and what's her position in the gym when she confronted me. I was told after I was in the gym for an hour and 30 minutes that I couldn't enter the gym with my jeans on which it wasn't Jeans it a sweatpants that had a look of a jeans and color. I tried to explain to her but she didn't allow me to since I was cut off and she wanted to move on continuing what she was doing which was sit down in the back and do nothing. When I told her there's other people at this moment who are wearing long jeans and shorts jeans in the gym and her response was I don't see anyone else besides you which was a lie. She didn't even go look she just went back to the office and sat down to relax. The reason she also came up to me was some gym member didn't like I had the Palestine sticker on my phone and he complained and wanted me out. If this horrible issue isn't taking care of i will be going to the news and cancel my membership and let the community know about this. Someone called me from the 929 number and left me a voice mail. I called that person back and they never got back to me. Horrible service

The gym is always OVERCROWDED because of its cheap fees. You pay little, but then it’s nearly impossible to use the machines without waiting forever, especially the racks (there are only three, and once someone takes one, they never let it go). Some people even sit on the machines just chatting on their phones without caring that others are waiting……..The staff doesn’t create a good atmosphere either: one employee was filming himself while training and recording other users in the background without their consent, which is very inappropriate. At the front desk, some employees just joke around with each other, giving the place the vibe of a schoolyard rather than a professional gym…

FANS! Please hook up more fans! It’s a basement and we need more air circulating. I’ve overheated numerous times there and had to leave my workout cuz I felt faint. Especially with this summer heat starting, and all the other bodies around, we need more fans blowing cool air! That’s honestly my only real issue!

I posted a review a few weeks ago about how Blink recently emerged from bankruptcy with new owners and absolutely atrocious customer service. Developments since then confirm how bad things are.

My wife cancelled her account but then asked to uncancel it at the front desk, and they said ok, don't worry about it. Turns out they neglected to tell her that she had to fill out a form, and Blink is not taking responsibility for its employees' mistake. Management at the club admits it was a "coachable moment" for the front desk but is powerless to help.

Corporate was demanding a reinstatement fee from my wife for her to access the club because it wouldn't stand behind what its employees said. To add insult to injury, it had been over two weeks since this happened and customer service was (1) only available by email and (2) refused to address the issue.

Somebody responded to my review, saying the club would contact me. It did, after I emailed that I was expecting a call. The proposal from Blink was to uncancel the account starting May 1, with us just pretending that Blink did not exclude my wife for over a month because of its mistake. It refused to even allow her access for the last few days of April without her paying for the full month. Basically, the offer was that Blink would pretend it didn't make a mistake, do nothing to make what it did better, and just let things carry on as if nothing had happened if we were also willing to play make-believe. If that's business-as-usual at Blink, then neither my wife nor I are interested in returning.

Mistakes should be fixed with some level of humility, not with the "our fault, your problem" attitude Blink's post-bankruptcy management seemingly brings to the table. Stay away. It's not worth the hassle.

I came here for a trial session and must say that I am very satisfied of my one hour gym exercise here.
You have all the needed machines and a decent free weight area.
Checking in and changing clothes with the given locker room, is easy and comfortable.
Everywhere was clean. If you even don’t need to change clothes or take a shower, there are even lockers provided within the main gym area. So you can basically just pop in and immediately start your work out.
They have sanitizer's and wipes almost every other corner.
During the time went there, it was around a workday, noon. It was busy but not too crowded. A few times I had to wait for machines as they were occupied fully, but it wasn’t a big problem.
Though I think during after work hours this studio maybe very packed.

UPDATE: they switched out their Life Fitness treadmills for the awful cheap Matrix machines and I immediately canceled my membership.

Original review: I live about 200ft from another gym, but I walk 12 minutes to Blink simply because they care about maintaining good quality equipment and the space is always clean. Staff members are super chill and friendly, and I can’t recall having any issues other than occasionally having to wait for a machine during peak hours in the morning. The only thing i could wish for is perhaps more exercise mats since those go FAST during the busiest times, and/or more space for stretching and barbell work. The layout feels cramped at times when there’s a lot of folks around, but overall it’s a nice and incredibly affordable option in the neighborhood.

The staff are great and the gym is clean whenever I’ve visited. However they switched out their concept 2 rowing machines for these lousy magnetic rowers. There’s a reason why every rowing boathouse uses concept 2. I get they’re not in business to train world class rowers BUT the magnetic ones for novice and casual users is horrendous. I was going to renew but not now.

I have been trying to cancel my membership for the past 2 months (went in person at least 4 times to cancel) + numerous phone calls + emails to the member support and just been sent generic responses or ghosted. You’d think they could just cancel it themselves on my behalf, but according to their rules, I have to cancel it through the website that’s been broken for 6+ weeks… The manager is also honestly really dull, rude, and ill-advised.
They must be doing really bad financially to literally have to trick people + using predatory billing tactics. Honestly would not recommend. The gym itself is fine for the price, but it’s pretty gross and in a basement + machines are never free. I’m switching to a different (unfortunately more $$) gym because at the end of the day the cost ends up being the same when you factor in the time & unethical billing practices (ie, billing customers on end even upon trying to cancel multiple times, sending them in circles, etc.).

This might be the most condensed Blink Gym I've been in but to it's credit, it's got a large variation of machines. Thankfully I have come here in the earlier part of the morning because I can imagine this place getting packed and I'm sure it gets crowded easily. Despite the smallish size of the place, no windows and the area feeling like Stu Hart's Dungeon on a Summer day, the vibe is friendly, the staff is receptive and I didn't have to wait long for machines here, maybe I should travel to the Brooklyn locations more. The service and availability here makes up for the cubicle sized basement gym.

This is my favorite Blink location. I’m most comfortable here. The staff always greets me entering and leaving and I have no complaints about cleanliness.

In addition, I have been personally training with Jose R. for a good 8 months now, and out of the five trainers I’ve had in my fitness life, he is the best hands down. I have never dreaded a session with him. He’s experienced across several fitness and sport disciplines and keeps all of my workouts challenging yet doable, which helps me reach my goals. Our personalities mesh well which is equally as important to me. I give him 10 stars all across the board and I’m grateful for his work with me.

I have been using Jose R. as a trainer since September 2023. Before doing personal training sessions with him, I felt I had stagnated in my growth and strength, and I had been lifting on my own for 6 years. In the 7 months I’ve been training with him, I’ve gotten so much stronger than I imagined possible, while making so much progress toward my goal physique. He’s so good at listening to his clients’ goals, and personalizes the workouts for each client. He knows when he needs to push me past what I perceive as my limit, but also knows his clients well enough to know when to ease up. He’s also been so helpful at helping me learn new exercises to rehab any past or new injuries I’ve gotten from other sports. I originally started personal training with the thought that I would only do it for a few months to help me fall into a workout routine, but I’ve enjoyed training with him so much that I don’t foresee me canceling my personal training sessions any time soon.

It is the best Blink Fitness in the area in terms of total amenities. I've been surprised by how the one on Fulton and Franklin Avenue is a dungeon (no mobile phone reception), and how the one on Flatbush Avenue and Martense Place lacks water fountains. Boerum Hill is the most complete package, smaller than the Flatbush one but containing all the relevant inventory.

The place has alot of equipment however it's a fire hazard due to the lack of safety exits and the little amount of space to even get a good workout. If the welcome station was on the 1st floor maybe the equipment could be spread out more to allow personal space. Also, the ventilation system is terrible it is Extremely Hot down there (A nesting ground for Viruses and Bacteria).

Working out at this location just walked in and saw they have no men’s room Bathroom is completely out of order for men and when I asked the female behind the counter when will it be fixed she told me she has no idea it’s been out for a week that is absolutely ridiculous. You should not be paying your money for the gym I have to go outside to use the bathroom around the corner I bet if it was the woman’s room females will be in an uproar and it would get fixed immediately but for men you have to wait a week and go around the corner every time you need to use the bathroom that is absolutely ridiculous in a facility that you are paying your money for whoever the manager is they need to get their act together, so if you come here and you are a man just be prepared to not be able to use the bathroom👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿

Great gym. Friendly staff, very (very!) clean most of the time, everything equipment-wise is in working order almost all of the time (and I go almost every day), nice atmosphere, seems to attract respectful clients who are serious about working out, hot water for the showers always works (couldn’t say that back at NYSC!), and it’s the deal of the century $$-wise if you ask me. No perks, and you get what you pay for, but in this rare case in NYC I feel like it’s actually a really good deal. Only thing is, you gotta figure out what time of day works for your fitness goals; After-work hours (5:30-8pm-ish) are expectedly insanely busy and you will be lucky to get to use the equipment you want to use, expect for treadmills as there are more than enough of those, but for weights and benches and smith machines and deadlifting gear, you’ll want to figure out your personally best time to go. I go either late night, or in the afternoons before most jobs end (freelancer schedule), and I find I can almost always achieve my fitness goals for the day here.

Very nice uplifting staff here. LOVE the woman at the desk, always says hello. She’s never horsing around, she’s there to do her job and is very knowledgeable and patient!
Only bummer is there’s no hand sanitizer stations like they have in my bushwick blink. They’ve had them even before COVID, so I’m not sure why they don’t have them here.
They just have a couple trash bins with the disinfectant spray and paper towels.
I noticed they do have a HVAC air filter, which is good given this space doesn’t have any windows. It’s a basement level gym. It’s clean, staff is always trying to keep it that way.
But again, not having hand sanitizer stations, makes it so you have to have your little bottle handy in your pocket, or have to go the bathroom mid workout to wash your hands.

If you work at the standard 9-5 and don't plan on coming in at 9:00 in the evening then you're going to have a bad time. This gym is obscenely tiny with all of its equipment (cardio and weightlifting) in a single, cramped room. If you go right after work then you'd be lucky to get on a treadmill, god-forbid you try to get a bench by some dumbbells. A wildly disappointing gym, even for the okay price (which they screw you with for the cancellation anyway). Go to the Planet Fitness across the street if you have to go to a gym in the area since they know how to manage their space a lot better, even during rush hours.

In my experience this is a well-run Blink. The staff are reasonably friendly, it’s clean, and the people that go here are considerate of how much time they take with equipment. I have never had to wait more than 10 minutes tops for the equipment I am waiting for to open. I live 10 minutes walking from the Ridgewood Blink, but I work in this neighborhood. Even on my days off I would rather take the train with a transfer at Broadway Junction to workout here than walk 10 minutes to the Ridgewood Blink, where people will take literally 20-30 minutes on one piece of equipment. This Blink is a great place to workout especially if you generally workout for about an hour.

BEWARE - Hidden Fees.

Disappointed with Blink's approach to hiding annual membership fees by charging them months after initial sign up. Especially if you sign up online, this is not made obvious. Additionally, the 45-day notice to cancel is the icing on the cake when most services are 30 day - meaning you're always going to be paying more than you expect.

Would avoid signing up for a membership on these shady practices alone.

I'm dreadfully leaving this city at the end of the week, but I've been coming to this location for the better part of 5 years and this location is hands down the BEST Blink location. The equipment is has the best range of motion (I feel like machines at other locations are a little too short or tight (?)), and its rarely too crowded that you can't find something to do. (Also rarely have I experienced people hoarding weights)

The entire staff is so friendly, welcoming, and they do a great job just keeping the vibes strong. It's always spotless and incredibly clean. I live right by a Blink in Clinton Hill and still will come to this location 5 days a week. I truly am going to miss the routine I have coming to this location, the staff, and people I see in the gym every morning. You guys deserve some kind of award :). The gym is nice and things are clean but I’ve never been to a gym (or any other Blink location) where the employees are so aggressive about getting people to leave for closing time. I.E- yelling every few minutes starting 15 min before close and then shutting the lights on and off throughout. Then they’ll totally turn the lights off in the locker room, can’t even see well enough to get my things and still they continue yelling. I understand and respect that there is a closing time but it is really uncomfortable to be that aggressive. The employees are very nice when interacting with them so it is kind of ironic. This gym is terrible. It’s small, cramped and hard to breath in (it’s in a basement, so no natural ventilation). It’s musty for the most part. Also if you need a bench or adjustable seat, forget about it because everyday is chest day in that gym apparently. Even at a lax time like 1PM is asking for too much. Nothing bad on the staff, they’re doing their best, it’s just a garbage set up of a gym. Find another blink.

I TRULY REALLY LIKE THIS BLINK ,IT WAS BY FAR ONE OF MY BEST EXPERIENCES, BECAUSE I HAD THE GREAT PLEASURE OF MEETING BLINKS INCREDIBLE EMPLOYEES, SUCH AS RIHANNA, ZEE AND ANOTHER YOUNG MAN WHO TEACHES KARATE ....
THE LOCKER ROOM WAS VERY CLEAN ,VERY SPACIOUS, EMPLOYEES CLEAN IT EVERY 15 MINUTES TO HALF AN HOUR, BIG PLUS, THE GYM IS LOCATED IN THE SUB LEVEL, THAT IS MY ONLY COMPLAINT, NO NATURAL LIGHTING, IS KIND OF DEPRESSING AT TIMES, BUT THERE IS AN ELEVATOR..
THE LOCATION IS IN THE CUT BUT VERY EASY TO GET TO, RIGHT OFF ATLANTIC AVE DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN, THERE ARE A MILLION THINGS TO EAT IN THIS AREA, ALL IN WALKING DISTANCE, TRADER JOES, SOUL FOOD, POP EYES , CHECKERS , ON COURT ST MOVIE THEATER, DELI , SOPHIES CUBAN CUISINE, ALSO IN ALBY SQUARE IF YOU GO INSIDE THE BIG BUILDING, THEIR IS A TRADER JOES AND HUGE FOOD COURT DOWN STAIRS, THIS IS IN FULTON MALL.
NEAR BY TRAINS ARE ,A.C.F ON JAY ST...... 4 AND 5 ON BOROUGH HALL , 2 AND 3 TRAIN ON HOYT ST , THIS IS A GREAT AREA FOR SHOPPING ,EATTING OR JUST CHILLING WITH SOME ONE, AND THERE IS A BBQS NEAR BY AS WELL AS IHOP, AN COOKIES CLOTHING STORE FOR KIDS

If you're looking for a gym with fitness classes, spin classes, basketball courts or a swimming pool, give this place one star. If all you want is a nice clean place with working machines and a polite staff that genuinely seems to take pride in keeping their gym clean, this is a five star gym. Yes, it's small. Maybe in the winter it will get more crowded. But for now, when I go there are always machines available and the vibe is one of people who are there to work out. Yes, the choice of music is not to my taste, but that's what earbuds are for. And what a pleasure to not hear some fitness instructor or spin class person screaming in the room next to you. So far when I've been there, the locker room has been spotless. The price for the basic monthly membership is less than a pizza up the street, so what's not to like? Again, this is NOT for people who want the social experience of going to a gym and taking classes or yammering on their phone while people are waiting to use the one stair master. And it has an app that tells you in advance what the occupancy is before you go, in case you don't want to go when it's crowded.

One of the best blinks I’ve been too. The staff is friendly, and laid back. They’re also very clean in there. It gets crowded in the evenings but people are pretty courteous there.

All the staff are amazing and really nice. BUT the unit should have a hairdryer in the bathroom, like other blink stores around the city, it would be very useful.

This is probably the smallest of all the Blink locations. I really wish that Blink would be more intentional about enforcing proper gym etiquette. This location is way too small for people to be doing pull ups on a squat rack and refusing to allow others to use the equipment properly. This gym isn't for me because of the lack of etiquette and callaboration that gyms should encourage.

How about you learn to staff appropriately and open on time. If management is constantly running late and can’t open at 7AM time to hire new management

Avoid going between 5:30pm and 7:00pm because it gets way too packed, like most gyms.
Regardless, still a great gym. 10/10

Clean gym with suitable equipment. The staff is always on top of it. Z and Juan were ready and willing to help me when I lost an AirPod inside one of the StairMasters. For that kind of service and help alone, I don’t think I’ll go to another gym that’s not called Blink.

I went to this location for over 1 year, and today I canceled my membership. I joined the planet fitness across the street. The location is small, and the machines are often broken. Right now there are 3 machines and 3 treadmills out of service. The paper towel racks are often empty, and often there are issues with water in the women's bathroom. No water will be available, and the showers, toilets, and sinks will be out of order. No notification is sent out, and you find out when you arrive. Often 10 - 15 minutes before the gym closes, the staff often cuts off the televisions by the machines. Even if someone is watching it while they are working out, without saying a word. That is very rude and unprofessional. Then there was an increase in the membership, while the service remained mediocre. We had a good run, and hoping these issues are addressed for current members. Goodbye Blink. ✌🏾

The gym is pretty good esp with the price tag. Sometimes it gets overcrowded, but if you can go offpick hours - you should be good. What can be better tho is to remove some of the cardio machines and add benches and racks

they charged me for membership 2 times and monthly payment 2 times i never could get the money back. I try it to cancell and called them back and everyone says something different.
The only good thing was the machines are good but it’s not worth to see their faces at all. Very unprofessional.

This is definitely one of the better locations to workout in. Staff is extremely friendly, and the location is maintained very cleanly. Like most Blink locations, definitely male heavy in terms of clientele, especially with no classes. Mostly college age and young professionals with a good mix of diversity at this location, without it being overkill of one, can definitely appreciate that, all happily coexisting. Doesn’t feel too cliquey, people are there to get their workout on and get on with their day or night. The jury is still out on the move to paper towels. The one negative I would say is this is not one of the more spacious locales and it’s all in the basement.

Love love love It. I love this location it's clean and spacious. Like I said I'm a certified personal trainer over@ Lyft4Lyfe. com. So from time² time I train clients @Planet Fitness & Blink. I am sorry to say that by far Blink is a overall better gym I'm just saying & the best part is they both cost about the same people. I plan to hit up a many locations throughout the city & give yall my honest reviews.

Extremely packed at all hours. I'm pretty sure they're not limiting capacity at all. There's often one of each type of machine, so it's hard to get a decent workout when you're constantly waiting around for a machine to be freed up. It's 15 bucks, and it definitely feels like it.

I used to love going to Blink. I went to the Boerum Hill location on the weekends and one by my office every week day. However, since covid I have relocated out of the city and I have since been trying to cancel my membership. I have physically gone to the Boerum hill location after countless tries to cancel online or over the phone and all they could do for me was tell me to fill out the online form again.

It has now been 4 months since I tried to cancel my membership initially and still no response. I also had to change my payment method so they were quick to reach out with an automated message saying if I didn’t pay, it would go to collections, but I haven’t been able to reach anyone about confirming my membership has been canceled or if I can get refunded my $120 in dues for a gym I haven’t been using.

I've been going to this Blink since the regular one I went to previously has been in a "Covid Orange Zone." While there is a bit of a cramped feel with the low ceilings, there definitely are plenty of precautions taken against Covid with several air scrubbers and a lot of wiping stations. A lot of cardio machines that I don't use, but a lot of squat racks and Smith machines around, as well as standard weights area. Very friendly staff as well.

For what you pay? Great facilities, always clean. Staff is always friendly and helpful. However, they have GOT to do something about members who leave their noses out of their masks for the entirety of their workouts. Staff does not properly handle this situation and it makes working out extremely uncomfortable. Hoping Blink will find a way to regulate this better.

I like this Blink location! It’s on the smaller side but they’ve used the space well. Depending on what time you go there might be a wait for a rack/bench, but tbh that’s the case at every Blink location I’ve been to.

The staff here are nice and helpful, and have been great about enforcing mask rules, although thankfully the clients here have been good about wearing their masks properly without needing to be reminded.
