Return with a mate to use a guest pass. See if any improvements. Guest pass process is horrible - wanting all account details. Poorly thought out.
The woman slouching at a small desk at the front was not interested in answering questions - more concerned about using her laptop and on the phone with her ear buds.
I was thinking of renewing membership - so thank you for making my decision easy.
Also the response from the gym was corporate generic rubbish. Try harder. Or keep doing you.

Was a member for 3 years. No more. It’s gone downhill with the Blink structures administration and new Pure Gym.
Many life fitness machines either at the end of their working life or broken.
Music blaring during the day even with headphones it makes it unpleasant.
Reduced number of wipes and sanitizer. It’s just dirty and many people simply don’t clean the gear after use.
There use to be in house cleaners but no more. Staff at reception only focused on scanning customers in.
Blink app is rubbish and doesn’t state anything about membership or contract.
I’ve let my membership lapse as it’s not value for money, with this location only Green or Grey, which is $40-$45/month (no orange), plus annual fee.

They do not have enough equipment for their size. This is giving planet fitness before they upgraded. They only have 1 of each machine. And for some reasons, they like 6 rows of treadmill which makes zero sense because they are always empty. This is possibly the worst location I have seen in terms of machine and availability.

Probably the worst gym I’ve ever been to. Machine constantly broken, there hasn’t been soap at the sinks for months and always out of toilet paper in the bathrooms. Could not recommend less and is legitimately the worst gym I’ve ever been too.

I’ve been a member of Blink for a while and, overall, I’ve enjoyed the facilities. However, my recent experience was incredibly disappointing. Upon arrival, the front desk manager insisted that I download a new app to check in, even though I had no prior notification and was in a rush due to the weather and my tight schedule. I offered my phone number for check-in, which should have been a simple solution, but the manager refused. This lack of flexibility and empathy is unacceptable. I pay for this membership and expect a certain level of service. Unfortunately, this experience has led me to cancel my membership. I hope they reconsider their policies for future members.

Horrible online customer service. Tried canceling my membership as I do not live in NY anymore and they told me I either had to come in or do it online on a portal that does not even function properly. “I don’t know try again” was the customer services response. Absolute incompetence, staff needs better training.

-good clean gym, all equipment worked when i was there
-large locker room for midtown manhattan
-this is a superb gym, by far the best one, IF you are disabled (the bathroom stall itself is an actual bedroom size space stall. i am not joking. it is HUGE. if you are wheelchair bound and or have limited mobility, you have a lot of personal private space to change and move freely without stress, so it is very helpful)
-temperature control was below optimum as it was very cold in here (mar '25)

I had a very disappointing and uncomfortable experience at this gym. While I was working out, I was verbally assaulted by one of the employees, Lizette. Despite my repeated requests for her to leave me alone and let me focus on my workout, she continued to confront me in an aggressive and unprofessional manner. This kind of behavior is completely unacceptable, especially in a place that should promote a supportive and respectful environment. I hope the management takes this seriously and addresses it appropriately. Until then, I cannot recommend this gym to others

The gym often has issues with their shower rooms, the gym should be much more clean then it is. Their website or app doesn’t work if your outside of USA and no one tell you about that. I ended up non being able to cancel from my country in Europe, after multiple times reaching out to member services center, front desk representatives no one offered any help to resolve my issue. ( btw I initially wanted to froze the membership until I come back, THEY DONT OFFER THAT AS WELL ) so I wanted to cancel for the time I was away ended up with charges and plus they send it out to a collection agency. Very very unprofessional and very negative experience of how they treated me!

Used to be ok until they closed the grand central location and tried to jam what was already 2 full gyms into one location with a locker room 1/4 of the size.
The result is overcrowding on the gym floor and no locker space.

If you have the opportunity to pay for this gym, pass it up. All the gyms in NYC did the same thing. They sold unlimited memberships in January, and by now they're closing locations, leaving the facilities overcrowded. You literally have to wait too long to use a machine 7 days a week. If money is the issue, raise the rates and open more locations, but don't provide bad service to save money. Gyms in NYC literally look like airlines now; playing with their clients' money and well-being.

Started as a member at Blink Jackson Heights but had to switch to Midtown gyms because the Jackson Heights location became crazy with theft and overcrowding. Moved to 34th Street, and they shut it down. Found my oasis at the Grand Central location, which they also shut down—so I guess I’m stuck with Murray Hill. Now your mom and everybody’s family is coming to Blink, so I can hardly get a hold of any equipment without waiting for the crowd to die down. Guess I’ll move to Crunch—not like things are going to get better staying with Blink anyway.

First of all I want to start this review play saying I am a green member have had my membership to blink for 2 years now I've gone to many different blinks and yes this is by far the worst experience I've ever had any blank what's working out on incline chest press machine insomniac maniac came up to me to harass me would not leave me alone got into a shouting match with this person with an ear shot to the manager being at the front desk also the manager's office is also in earshot to what we were having this shouting match the manager never came to resolve the situation I had to go up to the manager myself and let him know if I keep having these problems with members in here I will defend myself he told me I can feel free to come up to him but why he heard the whole shouting match and never came up to intervene terrible terrible Management in this location seems like blink has an issue with their management team in managing their locations seems like blink has a serious issue with their management team and hiring people to manage their locations what's playing members we deserve to work out in a clean safe facility 👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾👎🏾

I walked in intending to sign up for a membership, but I saw how they treated a young man who appeared to be a member of this place. It felt discriminatory—the atmosphere was tense, the staff was unfriendly, and completely unprofessional. What did I do? I left. Life has taught me that what starts badly ends badly.
For those wondering what happened: The young man, who was very polite, walked in with his skateboard. The front desk, without even greeting him, just said, “Leave it outside! You’re not in school.” They could have simply told him, “We don’t allow skateboards inside; there’s nowhere to store it.”
I saw the young man leave, and yes, he is a member because I asked. He walked away just as confused as I was—except he had already paid his money. But the staff member said it in a rude and harsh way.
If you already have a standard for the type of people who are welcome here, make it clear at the time of registration.

To get straight to the point, this location is borderline mid as far as gym quality goes. Not the worst I've been but not very outstanding either. The gym location blends too well with the surrounding store and it has no signs to make it stand out, making it very easy to walk past it by mistake. The gym itself is relatively narrow, even for a basement gym. Not many machines in there, they didn't even have the abductor machine which I like to use every time I visit a Blink Gym and the staff isn't exactly present, might as well have AI machines overlook the place. The only positive is that the place wasn't crowded. It's not an entirely bad location but I wouldn't go out of my way to come back there anytime soon.

Absolutely unbeatable value for the price. It’s a gym, with all the equipment you’d expect (and none that you don’t), for $30/month.
The 2 squat racks, 2 smith machines, 2 benches with racks , and two deadlift bars are usually being used during prime hours but there’s almost never a wait for anything else.

I have been a blink member for years and training at this location for over a year, visiting almost daily to work out and keeping to myself. Unfortunately, I’ve had uncomfortable and unprofessional experiences with the trainers, making this gym far from a safe or welcoming space. I strongly advise anyone, especially women, to avoid signing up here.
Recently, I had a negative encounter with a trainer after moving his belongings from a machine he had left unused for over 30 minutes. When he returned, he was rude and claimed he had the right to “reserve” the equipment simply because he worked there. When I reported this to the front desk staff, they did not take any action, allowing him to continue his disrespectful behavior and occupy the equipment without using it.
To make matters worse, days later, several gym members informed me that this trainer had been speaking poorly about me and sharing my name with others. This behavior is incredibly unprofessional and inappropriate for someone in his position, making me feel uncomfortable and targeted.
Adding to this, another trainer I’ve never even interacted with accessed my information through the gym’s database and has repeatedly tried to follow me on social media. This invasive behavior feels like harassment, and it's deeply concerning that the gym allows such conduct.
I do not feel comfortable at this gym, and I strongly recommend others think twice before joining.
UPDATE: I’ve cancelled my blink membership and started going to another gym. They never reached out to me to have the issue resolved like they said they would so I guess management isn’t too great here either.

I’m not a fan of basement gyms, but this is actually a very nice location. I travel a lot and I ve been to many Blink locations; this place has some equipment I’ve never seen.
UPDATE: the staff here are extremely rude and unprofessional. I have been coming here for the last 3 weeks and today I was just treated like I don’t belong, racial profiling is real and I feel extremely disrespected and embarrassed now. I don’t want to be here but I will continue my workout and NEVER RETURN. I will also be sending the associates names in an email. GROSS!! DO NOT SIGN UP HERE.

Don’t ignore the negative reviews. Kept charging me after canceling my membership over 5 times and now there’s a mark on my credit. Even confirmed with multiple staff that my membership was canceled.
Conviently, they cannot speak to this though there was multiple 2+ hour phone conversations. The policies and practices are nothing short of deceptive and fraudulent. Obviously when you are told your membership is canceled for a 3rd, 4th or 5th time that isnt a consumer error or a failure to read the fine print.
This gym will either grossly overbill you, not let you cancel or mark up your credit. No faculty or amenity is worth this level of hassle.
This gym is a scam and I won’t be surprised if there’s a lawsuit because it does not operate in a professional or ethical manner- and it’s also very likely illegal/ some kind of consumer violation.

Don’t loose your money here. The weight area is ALWAYS crowded, doesn’t matter the hour, it’s always crowded. So, when you try to cancel the membership, they don’t process the cancellation on the system and they will keep charging you. Even thought, after the cancellation day is effective.
I cancelled my membership on 9/22/2023 and they didn’t submit the information on the system (luckily I took a screenshot). Following their own cancellation policy, the effective day of the membership cancellation must be 11/7/2023. Well, they didn’t submit the information and I got charge for December. The manager Demetrious doesn’t answer calls and after 1 month and a half I was able to contact customer services from Corporate and get the outstanding balance removed. They don’t respect your money and your time. Don’t loose your money here, WORSE GYM EVER

Update: I really like it. Staff is great. If you workout regularly then it may be better to plan on going after 8 PM.
Original post:
Very clean and customer service is amazing. They have all machines but the number of machines is small compared to the number of customers, which is understandable because the space is limited too. You will end up waiting for 15 minutes until some other customer finishes their workout on a certain machine.
My suggestion: most of the cardio machines are not used. Reduce the cardio area and put more workout machines.
Everything else is perfect. Everyone who works here is truly amazing.

My daughter has membership here. She took ill end of June. Long term hospitalization. So far I can NOT cancel this monthly payment. It's mid Sept now. There is no way to cancel online & we had to move my daughter out of state. Still waiting for "upper management" to respond to local manager requests. We do not need this added aggravation during our time of worry. Shame on Blink.

Was staying in the neighborhood for a month. Went in at the end of July and explained the situation. They signed me up for the Gray plan and told me to cancel in August since it’s a monthly membership. Went to cancel and was told that there is in fact a cancellation fee. Even worse, my 2 days in July count as a full month so I now also owe the full facilities fee which kicks in on your second month. Staff was useless/helpless( but very polite). Typical gym membership scam.

June 25, 2023 Sunday. The receptionist had no knowledge at all and he was very impatient, had an attitude like I owe him money. As a first time customer, I asked him how much for the membership. He told me to look at the iPad. I asked him why the iPad repeated "100+ locations" and "90+ locations". He was wiping coins?? Never looked at me (kept his head down) and said he didn't know. I asked him what green plan automatically converts to monthly agreement meant, he said he didn't know either. He told me it is how it is. (what? is this a literature exam or something? You want me to guess?)I left with confusion and I'm not going to join this gym which i actually decided to join earlier. When You don't even know the basic membership info, how can you deal with other gym issues??? Why are you paid to be here but the stupid iPad is doing your job?

I get it. You think it's cheap but if you read the fine print, it's not at all. I asked the front desk clerk at Blink fitness/Murray Hill NY if there were any hidden charges before I signed up for the non-committal gray plan because I wanted to use the gym during the cold winter months and cancel when spring came up. That was not the case. Not only did they not honor the $1 intro month which isn't on the gray plan, they automatically charged an annual maintenance fee of $59.55. I asked them if they can pro-rate any of it if I cancel before the years up and they said NO. It's a flat fee even if you use the gym for a month. And to make the matters worse, the gym is nasty. It gets super crowded and you have to wait for a smelly dude who's looking at Tiktok squatting on machines and when you finally get on it, it full of nasty puddle of sweat. And towels cost additional $25 extra a month. So, for three months, I wasted a total of $259.57. Ugh. What a waste.

I read the fine print about cancellations and went in with a hand written letter 45 days in advance of when I was moving out of NYC (as per my plan’s cancelation policy). I was told by the employee at the counter it was fine and just come in when I wanted to cancel at the end of the summer. I double and triple checked and was assured I wouldn’t be charged at the end of the summer.
I went in last night to cancel and was charged for the next 45 days. The people working were very helpful and polite and told me that was not the case. They knew who I was talking about and said she is no longer working at the gym.
I was told there is nothing to be done as that’s the policy and I’m moving somewhere within 25 miles of another a Blink (which is an absolutely ridiculous range, no one is traveling 24 miles to go to the gym).
I’ll gladly take the review down if someone wants to talk to me and make good on what their former employee told me. This is why gyms get bad names.

Staff at this gym are less friendly than at other locations. Often, the person working the sign-in desk doesn’t even look up from their phone. I only recently saw someone cleaning here. The facility isn’t dirty, it’s just rare to visit a Blink where staff aren’t constantly cleaning. I saw the manager instructing a new hire how to clean and he just flapped his hands around and said, “just go over everything” as if it weren’t a priority to do a thorough job. The men’s locker room is small, but the toilet and shower areas are spacious. The bottle filler here is really strong. Towels are all full-sized instead of full and half. They have a calf machine I haven’t seen at other locations that is seated instead of standing. I feel like it targets the area better.

For the price it's fine, but for how busy it always is they need more of the most crucial equipment. I've been going here for 3 months and have never been able to get a squat rack or a bench. Staff is nice and it's clean, but they either need to quadruple the number of benches and squat racks they have or limit the number of members. There are days where you can't get anything done because it's so busy

Great gym. Lots of cardio machines and free weights. I tend to do lots of body weight exercises so the stretching area is great for that but even if it’s full it’s not hard to find a corner somewhere for yourself. Also a big fan of all the supplemental equipment (kettlebells, boxes/platforms, medicine balls, etc). Staff is great, always saying hello and goodbye. The place is super clean as well.
I saw people were complaining about the sudden return of mask mandates (which caught me off guard as well when I showed up one day) but that only lasted about a week and they have been mask-optional for over a month now.
The only “bad” thing is this location (probably cause it’s one of the better ones) gets packed in the mornings and evenings, but luckily the grand central location is just a couple blocks away and has half the foot traffic, which is almost just as good if not for its smaller size.

Large space, with a fantastic layout. Lots of private corners to workout in. Not crowded. Staff is very professional. Walked out of NYSC across the street, the other day, & straight in here to finish my workout.

Hot tip: get a 1 year membership with no fees for $99 (actually less when you apply discount codes) on Groupon! Easy redemption process. Clean locker rooms. Work out to your heart’s content! Tho, I wish they had precor machines for deep stretching! Gets pretty crowded in the morning and in the evenings when people get off work.

I am FULLY VAXXED AND BOOSTED. (So is everyone else at gym, per NYS requirement). So why are they making me wear a mask WHILE I AM ON THE TREADMILL (even tho we are over 6ft apart???) I am TOTALLY okay with wearing a mask during all other times, in the locker room, while waiting for equipment, in between sets, etc....
This was NOT COMMUNICATED to members, we were given ZERO NOTICE. And Im training for a 10k and was dry heaving trying to push myself with a mask on. This totally ruins my training and is not what I signed up for when I joined this gym!!!!!
I'm canceling my membership and joining a gym with more sensible mask policies. THIS IS NOT IN LINE WITH THE NYS MASK MANDATE! OR ANY CDC GUIDELINES. The NYS mask mandate does not apply to business which require vax for entry.
I highly encourage blink to allow guests to temporarily take off their mask during physical activity while no other guests are within 6-10ft.

2 years after covid, 80% of the city is vaccinated (100% of blink members) yet the order that you need to wear a mask over your face when you workout. New York hospitality at its best! The sheer stupidity of this is catching on, many members canceling over this! Good gym otherwise.

Sudden Blink wide mask mandate effective with no warning for a month. This is not the result of any mandate or CDC guidance. Canceling membership immediately.

Everything about this gym is horrible. It is horribly crowded all the time. You constantly have to wait in between sets for equipment. Not only this, but the management is bad too. They don't respond to your emails and if you call them, they tell you to do everything online. It's cheap for a reason and is not at all worth it. Highly recommend avoiding signing up here.

Employees are friendly and the place is clean. A little crowded at certain times but that's anywhere. I still get my time at the rack and that's all I can ask for.

Great gym, but definitely incredibly busy (not the gym's fault). If you can't go here, try out Blink Grand Central, also great.

Went in and spoke to the manager Dulce. She was not being cooperative in regards to scheduling a reservation. Not happy with this gym and the customer service they provide. I have been coming here for over a year and they treat you terribly. Do not join here!

It feels great to be back at this muray hill location. My closest gym to go to its in the Bronx(Bedford park) but a lot of their equipment has missing parts or out of order!
I love this Murray Hill location and Grand Central too, it's so clean!!

Will be cancelling my membership at this location, I tried to book a reservation but their app was not working correctly and showing errors. After walking 20 minutes to the location, I am turned away by a member of staff for not having a reservation after telling them the app is not working they patronise me by saying because its fully booked, no the app is showing connection error. On top of that the gym was completely empty and clearly was not a problem for me to enter. It's a clear example of a silly kid on a power trip. Absolute joke.

Affordable and no frills gym that has all the basic equipment you need to get a good workout in. Free internet that isn't cheap and slow. You'll need it since it's the basement.
Cleabing during COVID seems on point, with hand sanitizers everywhere and bleach wipes for the equipment abundant.
Only complaint I have is it can get crowded quick, but that's standard for any gym.
