Worst Blink in Midtown, can’t even go here on leg days. It’s been ~4 months since the 2 squat racks were removed and they haven’t been replaced. They have that section of the gym blocked off and every staff member is utterly clueless about when repairs will be done. I doubt they’re even doing anything over there.

Came here for a day pass. $15 is really affordable for global standards. Good gym with all the main bodybuilding pin loaded machines you need. Lacking in plate loaded machines. Not too busy at lunch time

I have been going to this gym for a few years and it is a great location in the middle of Manhattan. I truly miss the towel machine and I wish they had at least another Smith machine and bench press benches for incline barbell presses. But the small gym gets the job done. People and staff are very friendly.

My review will save you both time and money.
Let me explain everything in detail so you fully understand what you’re getting into. Before you even consider joining this gym, you need to decide what’s more valuable to you: saving an extra $50 a month or saving 3–4 hours of your time every week.

Because if you have any kind of structured workout plan - forget about it. You will not be able to follow it in this gym. The number of people here is absolutely overwhelming. Ever since they closed one of their location in the area, this gym has become insanely overcrowded. The line for every machine, dumbbell, and barbell is beyond ridiculous. A simple workout that should take 45–50 minutes will easily stretch to a minimum of 2 hours.

There isn’t even enough room to do basic stretching, let alone any dynamic exercises - just forget about those entirely. The only people I could recommend this gym to are those who don’t care about having a workout plan, don’t care about results, and just want to pay no more than $50 a month (not including annual fees, by the way).

Cleanliness and organization have gone downhill ever since they rebranded. And to show you how the company views its members: the squat rack area has been closed for six months with a sign saying it will “reopen soon with upgrades.” Six months later - still closed, still unusable.

If you want to spend your time in a gym where it’s impossible to train properly or stick to any plan, then by all means, this is the gym for you. But if you care about results, value your time, and don’t want to wait 20 minutes just to use a barbell - absolutely do not join this gym.

On top of that, it’s beyond me why such a massive space is dedicated to cardio machines, half of which sit unused most of the time, while the free weights area is so overcrowded you can’t even do a simple lateral raise without bumping into someone. The staff doesn’t really care, but I don’t blame them - it’s clearly a management issue.

Bottom line: I do not recommend this gym to anyone who is serious about achieving results. If you don’t care, and your only priority is paying the lowest possible membership fee - then, as they say, welcome.

P.S. And this is me not even going into the fact that people have been getting their belongings stolen in the locker room more and more often. The sanitation, cleanliness, and overall maintenance in the locker rooms and bathrooms have hit rock bottom. The showers have become downright unbearable - there are constantly sketchy individuals hanging around, and the smell is absolutely disgusting. But honestly, it’s not surprising, considering the company clearly doesn’t care about its clients. So yes, I 100% do NOT recommend this gym.

Cramped, hot and crowded all the time. It's likely overpopulated here because Blink Grand Central closed down last year.

Pretty dirty, dead cockroaches on lockerroom floors, The leg area has been closed for almost 6 months or something. They put in a bunch of new treadmills with TVs, but the TVs don't work, so you just stare at your reflection because you can't really see the old TVs now.

No incline bench, not enough flat benches or weight lifting equipment in general, but there's tons of cardio equipment that not a lot of people use in the morning, at least.

Just kind of a basic, dirty gym with a mostly indifferent staff, but at least it's cheap.

Went to redeem a free trail as I wanted to see if the reviews were as bad as they suggested before moving further. My voucher was valid until 9/1. (US dates) 8/25 I get told sorry we don’t do that anymore. And that regardless of my voucher exp date I cannot redeem it. “So I’ve basically wasted my time coming here and you won’t allow me access?” “ Yes”…. Zero help zero customer service Zero care. Blink you have lost a potential customer… and if I am one of many, management better take note and improve the training of your staff

Feels like this brand is going under. They closed the Grand Central and Penn Station locations, which has caused this location to be absolutely mobbed. You would think they would relocate the equipment from the other locations here to accommodate triple the traffic, but no attempts to address the overcrowding have been made. In the contrary, they have had no working AC for >6 months and just use oscillating fans, resulting in the gym being a sauna in both temperature and humidity.

This gym was bought by another company (pure fitness) and it’s gone down hill ever since! They fired all their good staff, they have had half the gym along with all their squat racks closed off for over a month now and still have no word on when it will be reopened. Also they have no inventory, when you go to the fridge for pre workout it’s literally empty and they have little to no protein bars available either and (they are still charging everyone a full membership). I’ve been coming to this location for 5yrs now and this is the worst it’s been. Then you have the new owners coming in complaining to the last of their good staff about how nothing is clean when they have like 1 person manning the whole gym (doing front desk, giving tours, picking up weights, cleaning etc). The staff that’s left is what keeps the gym running, they are the only reason most people keep going despite the terrible service on the company’s end. I finally decided to cancel my membership. It’s just not worth it, especially for a “corporate” location.

I am very happy with this gym, they seem to have the same workout equipment as Crunch and are much cheaper. I have been told that United Health Care will cover its member's gym membership cost at all of the Blink locations provided that you have a qualifying health plan with them. The Blink location is listed as 5 Bryant Park, but it is physically located on West 40th Street, just off the corner of 6th Avenue. The gym's small painted location sign on the building wall is not easy to spot because it is higher than you would expect such a sign to be at. Easier to spot than Blink's building sign is the one pictured below belonging to the Little Beet restaurant, which is very near Blink.

Should have probably checked out the gym before signing up there, but listen to the reviews.

Always overcrowded, lines for equipment, the same machines out of order for several weeks which just causes even more lines. There should honestly be a limit to how many members can sign up, especially in such a high traffic area and small gym space.

Only reason I signed up is because it’s around the block from where I work, but unfortunately now I’m stuck in this year contract at a place I’ll probably never be able to get a quality workout.

Also if the owner of the space is only going to reply with the same templated response to all the other reviews for the past year, you can save your time and not respond.

A person who appears to be experiencing severe mental health issues has been regularly using the gym facilities.

Unfortunately, they are often visibly unclean and covered in their own waste, which raises serious concerns about hygiene and safety.
I’ve spoken with the front desk staff, and I’ve also observed others bringing up the issue.

The staff acknowledged that the situation is both distressing and a potential health hazard. They mentioned that they have raised it with their manager, but no action has been taken so far.

I hope you find a solution.

Always hot! Agree with the comments, muggy and smells. Women’s bathroom stalls always filthy. The gym is so crowded I’m assuming because of the area, but it’s too small to be able to accommodate everyone. Constantly waiting for a machine, never get to use the equipment I’d like because there’s one or 2 of each. If you’re a woman good luck using the weights. Men take over that section everywhere. Everyone is spread out next to machines because there just isn’t enough room. Definitely weigh your options before signing up. This unfortunately was the only one that worked for me.

UPDATE:
I appreciate Blink replying, but I have been complaining about the AC for years (since they opened) and they have been saying they're working on it. A couple of giant fans were added making it slightly more comfortable if you are working out DIRECTLY in front of a fan. Giving up.

I have been to many other locations but the Bryant Park is the best.
1.Their Music is always always Uplifting and exciting.I thought all Blink location plays the same music but every location was different.Bryant Park plays the best music makes you feel not get bored and make you feel like in the mood for work out.
2.Although it is in the basement the air is not bad compare to other locations. Most of other location you don't wanna breathe in those unpleasant air.
3.They have shower and hair dryer so that you can plan something after work out. Some location have shower but not a hair dryer so you have an extra equipment to carry to the gym if you ever wanna go out straight from the gym after your work out.
4.Last but not least. They have best personal trainers compare to other locations.I have watched others to go on their personal training at so many other locations.I observed them because I was always looking for the one who can motivate and correct my posture to prevent the possible injury for the beginner.I have injured myself from playing other physical activity and it is not fun at all.
On March they've had free classes for women and all the trainers there were very good.I forgot their name but they were all really good.
I loved it when they correct my posture because it is a such a previllage to have someone watch you and help you to perform smarter.

Justin the personal trainer could answer all the questions you might have in terms of physical injury, getting bulked up,getting slimming down and every other aspects.
He has been working out 17 years himself so he knows you what you are like at the gym.He watches your posture carefully and correct you.He answers your question with broad and professional knowledge of himself being gym goer and personal training. He really pay attention to the questions you have.He really listens. He is the one who can tailor and customize your personal training. He is a hidden gem and you will be the lucky one if you have session with him.I feel so lucky to have him as my personal trainer.

HOT & MUGGY!!!
Management at this branch has cosistantly avoided upgrading or fixing the cooling system other than putting up 4 commercial pedestal fans on workout floor and respond to posts that it will be addressed..Not looking forward to another brutal summer at this branch with AC ducts leaking down into buckets and no Grand Central or prior to that closing Penn Station options. Beware to those looking for a new gym it gets Very crowded (due to recent bankruptcy/new ownership, and consolidation of other local branches). And remains hot, leaky and muggy at this location! Still not a deal breaker for the budget price and location but definitely not pleasant May through late september.

I’ve been going to this gym for almost a year now. I think the staff is super friendly and are really great at making you feel welcomed. The gym is kept very clean and the crowd is not that bad. I do think, however, that the machines in this location need an upgrade especially because of its location and the additional price you have to pay to have access to Blink gyms in Manhattan. I have gone to other Blink locations and they have already made upgrades to their outdated machines. I also feel like there are too many cardio machines that go unused and not enough weight training ones. I find myself often waiting on a smith machine because there is only one available and it is a very popular machine. Furthermore, there aren’t enough benches for those who are using them for weightlifting exercises so I find myself also waiting around for those too. I also noticed they are starting weightlifting classes for women this month which I think is a great way to serve its female customers. Not sure if this is something occurring only this month but it is great that the option is available especially for beginners.

I left Planet fitness and join last week . This gym is not lean , the men bathroom, just as you walk into the locker room , this ugly stings odor hits you , the entire locker room smells . Some of the machines leather has gaping holes , it bruises your elbows , a lot of the machine support pads needed to be replaced. Last but not least, they mostly play Spanish music, it seems as 90% Spanish goes there . After this month I will return the PF , it way cleaner , the staffs there clean constantly.

I would rate this gym a 3, mainly because the air conditioning is terrible. The AC simply doesn’t work. It’s 80 degrees outside, the gym is in a basement, and instead of proper air conditioning, they have fans running. The management doesn’t seem to care about their clients, and when the gym gets crowded, it becomes impossible to breathe.

However, I’m giving it a 4, and that’s only because of one guy. I don’t remember his name, but he’s short, a bit chubby, and wears glasses. He’s always cleaning the gym. Even when I don’t see him, he’s somewhere sweeping or mopping. While other staff members are glued to their phones, he’s the only one maintaining the cleanliness. Since he started, the gym feels cleaner, and it’s easier to breathe. So, a 3 for the gym, but a 4 because of him.

Updating My Review - Serious Security Concerns !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm revising my previous review of this gym to address a critical issue – abysmal security. While I initially had a semi-positive experience, two locker break-ins within ten visits have completely shattered my sense of safety.

This is not a minor inconvenience. It's a blatant disregard for my well-being and the security of my belongings. Furthermore, the complete lack of action from staff is deafening. I haven't witnessed any effort to monitor entry or implement measures to safeguard our property.

This utter negligence is incredibly disappointing, especially considering the owner's focus on thanking positive reviews while seemingly ignoring frustrated customers whose belongings have been stolen. Replacing stolen items isn't your responsibility, but at the very least, offering to replace the compromised padlocks would be a gesture of good faith.

Due to these repeated security breaches and the lack of response, I strongly urge anyone who prioritizes safety and security to look elsewhere.

Fairly sized for a basement location. This review would be my 2nd visit to this location. I first came here 3 months earlier in the Winter so other than how easily crowded it gets. I didn't think much of it. Now with it being mid spring and warmer than a usual April day, the lack of air conditioning in this place can really make you sweat so I advise bringing a good thirst quencher with you. The staff here is cool and all of the machines are in working order though that didn't prevent me from waiting on some people to be done with their supersets. All this happened while we were training and no one could realize what was happening, today I go to the gym to know how it was going to be solved and they simply tell me that the case is still in the police which is fine and that they would not be responsible for what happened to me since it was cash and that I simply lost it that I could not trust the gym to have my things and that way it changed it could happen to me again and no one and no one can do anything the Response from the gym manager.

After years of going to more than one Blink location (couldn't afford better), I can tell you it is pretty bad. I have had my things stolen multiple times, management never even tried to look like they cared. Cameras are non-existent. This place is like an open public square. If you are a big dude who knows how to growl the others in the gym out of your way, you'll feel at home.

Manager kicked my friend out cuz he didn’t have shoes and was wearing Adidas slides? I’ve had memeberships from many gyms ranging from Planet Fitness, LA, NYSC, Xsport and Lifetime and I’ve seen slides worn at all these locations. She wouldn’t let him slide for the day, even tho he told her he’d bring kicks next time, It’s not that serious. If this is blink’s policy then should be known verbally, otherwise it’s definitely not worth the price they charge for a membership if the goal is dress code and not a commitment to health. Workers were chill tho, y’all not the problem

They rob you. How?
In changing terms and fees of the cancellation.
When I started going there I understood that I have to go for a year and then nothing will be autorenewed. But I was wrong.

Not only I was charged for the 13th month, annual fee, but when I came to inquire I have to pay another 22$ to cancel.
It was June. I didn’t pay the first time. But when I came back same June the amount became 2,5 higher - 56$.

And when I was asked about the refund of annual fee I was told that they don’t do that!

So 150$ were waste to stop blink membership that is 35$ per month.

Not recommended! As they are NOT honest.

I experienced incredibly unprofessional service and damage to my personal property at this location tonight. The  manager Yami has incredibly poor communication skills a bad attitude and an unwillingess to diligently serve customers. After promising to wait 15 min after closing she cut my lock anyway and refused me entry to the gym.

After speaking to her personally on the phone and asking if they could wait 15 minutes after closing so I could get my things Yami agreed to wait.

I arrived at 10:09, knocked and called multiple times yet no one answered. I also called multiple locations to see if they could reach the gym.

After 30 minutes staff came up the stairs and I asked to get my things. Yami refused me entry saying that they had cut the lock and that I could not get them until the next day despite ensuring that they could stay open so I could retrieve my items, not answering the phone when I called multiple times, and not answering when I knocked on the door which can be seen from the security camera.

I would like to cancel my membership and receive a refund for the month in the amount of $40.00 a refund for the damaged lock $15 and compensation for the dishonesty and negligence of the management and customer service team at the Bryant Park New York Location.

Took a tour a the gym, weights were everywhere, mirrors were filthy, and don’t get me started on the locker rooms or showers. One of the worst locations I’ve been too, not to mention the apathy when I brought it up to management, some woman named Luis, or Louise? I don’t know, awful demeanor and attitude. Can’t believe she’s the only one responsible for the facility but I’m sure its a team effort. The east village location is waaaaaay better.

My experience was less than satisfactory, in fact I’ve decided not to sign up entirely. The staff greeted me very friendly and all was well until I met someone claiming to be the manager, Luisa. She had a terrible attitude and did not want to do her job. She declined a gym tour so I can view the facility, didn’t explain anything, and as soon as she could hand me off to one of her subordinates, she ran to hide somewhere. I will absolutely not be coming back.

Never too busy and always clean. Equipment is in working order. Only negative is equipment is all circa 2005 ..
Compatable with the first generation iphones and nothing else. Theres only basic functions on cardio equipment. The
Tvs mostly never work or are tuned into the “blink channel”
Never any news on. The bathroom needs more stalls and urinals 2 toilets and 2
Urinals and 500 lockers.. Unacceptable

A great fitness option for a temporary stay in New York. Very basic, but spacious, relaxed, and friendly. Easy and inexpensive to get a short-term membership. BUT: You must cancel your membership in person before you leave or you will be charged automatically, including a $55 annual maintenance fee (which Blink was kind enough to refund when I explained that I was no longer in the area). Cancellation costs $23.

Austin. The reason I’m even leaving this review is because of this man. He will go above and beyond for you. An absolute gem of a human who genuinely cares about the people he interacts with. While he was helping me i saw and heard him greet, by first name, multiple people walking in and out of the gym this morning. It needs to be recognized! Join this gym to get big muscles but also, join this location to be friends with Austin! :)

I enjoyed my visit to Blink. The team that greeted me and gave me the information to sign up. The gym was clean, throughout the gym there was sanitation stations to get disinfection wipes. The locker room are big enough, that no one to has to feel claustrophobic and there is scale to weigh yourself. The sink area was well lit, and I really enjoyed atmosphere, this will work for me.

They lie in their advertising saying that it costs $33 for no commitment and $32 for commitment. When you try to cancel they charge you $100 and ask for more 45 days. When you complain they say that after 30 days the plan automatically changes to commitment. That’s horrible, I feel scammed, and the worst part is that I could ha ver worked out in a much better gym from my work that has real no commitment but wanted to save money and got scammed.

Also, if you go there after 6pm there will be sooo many people that you’ll have to wait 10 minutes for getting a machine.

When I registered for this sports center, they said that I could withdraw from membership. Now they are telling me that I cannot unsubscribe from membership and that I have to pay. the manager's speaking style is that he speaks to the downtrodden and never listens to you, their management systems don't know. Worse still , they say they have to pay it and leave with it , they never help . bad way of talking and communicating with people. You may be selling a service, but taking care of the aftermath of that service.

I’ve been to several Blinks across the city and this is the most well equipped, clean, and spacious one. The three squat racks, two flat benches, and generous multitude of many machines is great for the price. Staff are super friendly. Environment is really chill and fellow gym goers will let you work in. I don’t see myself leaving for a long time.

Decent gym! Gets it done for the most part, but a little more supervision would go a long way to make sure members aren’t running the show. A few think they do.

Need at least one more bench rack, as well as an incline rack. There is room, I swear.

Another recommendation - monitor people using the only two flat benches as workout areas. It’s a problem, especially during the day. They aren’t “stations” where the same people can work out for 45m or more on some days doing circuit training.

Otherwise locker room is fine, gym is bright, maintained ok, and the associates up front are always lovely. They should be open a little later on Saturday and on Sundays. People live in the hood and want to go.

THIS BLINK WAS NICE, A DECENT AMOUNT OF SPACE TO DO YOUR STRETCHING THE BLINK REPRESENTATIVE WERE VERY NICE, PEOPLE KEPT TO THEM SELVES, NO WAITING TO USE EQUIPMENT, RIGHT NEXT TO GRAND CENTRAL STATION, AND THE D, M,F, B AND 7 TRAINS ARE ALSO LOCATED CLOSE BY.. BUT THE BEST PART ABOUT IT WAS THE REPRESENTATIVES, VERY NICE, VERY PLEASANT, HELPFUL... THE BASICS TO ANY GREAT ESTABLISHMENT IS THEIR CREW... THANK YOU AUSTIN AND ABBIE
