I had a fraud issue with my debit card
Wich was linked to my membership
After few days went back to fixed it, but they said it'd be impossible to recover my membership, besides of pay another one with the $65 annual fee, I just said "such a shame" and walked away. Switching the name is not casually I think... no more comments

This gym used to be okay (when it was Blink), been going for years and it drastically changed when it became PureGym. Facilities are dirty often, gym ettiquette for the people is trash, and a ton of stuff doesn't work. 8 out of 22 ellipticals were out of service. Planet Fitness is better than this now smh.

Perfect gym for the claustrophobic.
As you enter, you're greeted with the world’s smallest revolving door — the kind that closes behind you and leaves you waiting a few seconds in your own private panic capsule. It vacuum-seals you like it’s preserving you for future generations. If it ever malfunctions, there’s no staff in sight to save you. And even if management did appear, I doubt they have enough combined brain cells to operate a paperclip, let alone rescue you.
Also, if you enjoy water dripping from the ceiling right onto your forehead mid–bench press — just enough to make you wonder if you’re being lightly waterboarded, defective machines, and bathrooms that look like a crime scene nobody bothered to investigate, this place is truly a gem.
Honestly, who needs pre-workout when the entrance alone spikes your heart rate to max?
Highly recommend. 10/10.

It’s a very nice gym ! There’s only one thing I don’t like: when is a rainy day the men’s bathrooms get locked (because it floods) and you have to go outside for a near bathroom to do your needs …

Blink fitness was a good gym and working for people on a budget. But the new corporate owners Pure Gym are really hurting the facility. New equipment is low cost cheap quality. They have cut back on staffing, and they ignore emails.

Read the reviews before joining (and don't join) because they're true. The gym is overcrowded and management is horrible. The gym is always busy, even in the middle of the day, so prepare to wait for any equipment. And no one puts the weights back so the rack only has 60lb dumbbells and higher. I joined when it was Blink then it quickly turned to Pure Gym and my rates went up without any notice. I was already planning on canceling based on the overcrowding, but then they hit you with a $60 cancelation fee. I try not to leave one sided reviews but it's really just a horrible gym and I can't think of anything positive to add.

The acquisition by Pure Gym has ruined this Blink location. They are installing new tiny closed-pods you need to enter to walk into the gym that are claustrophobic and unwelcoming. All of the photos, messages, and workout-guides on the walls have been painted over. This no longer feels like a welcoming or warm workout environment.

Horrible Management, I Joined in June and have had issues with the app ever since (which you need to check-in). Contacted member services around 20 times and still no resolution. They don't offer any physical keychain barcodes either and will refuse to contact IT to fix the app for me. I've told the management and they yelled at me and threatened have me trespassed if I tried to enter without checking in, lol. They're still charging me club fees and monthly membership even though they won't supply a barcode for me to checkin. On top of being treating like trash, the ceiling constantly leaks.
I just simply need to use a gym and pay a monthly charge, this experience has been a constant headache for me, and after a few months they still haven't fixed the original issue. Turns out Blink went bankrupt last year and they just don’t wanna deal with fixing issues.

I initially have been on the fence about whether or not I wanted to continue going here due to there being very limited machines in comparison to pf. The fact that the guys at the front desk are always friendly and its cleaner than most gyms I continued going. However yesterday night was my last straw when I got into a verbal altercation with a man who proceeded to try to bully me off an ab machine next to his because he claims "he's going to use both machines at once and switch off” I told him no since I got to it first and you can’t “reserve” two machines at once. He then proceeded to say “okay then I’ll use the one you’re on” to which I said no again and told him I am not getting off. He grunted aggressively before calling me a “(fword +word that rhymes with itch-sorry google will delete my review even if i censor the word) loudly in front of other members. After standing up for myself during this interaction I proceeded to inform the front desk guy who was sympathetic and let me know he would have to inform the manager. Unfortunately this is when I decided $30 a month wasn't worth it. The manager, while he was respectful during interaction and apologized, his body language and tone, seemed annoyed that I wanted to follow through with an investigation since this guy who I got into an altercation with was lying. He let me know if I wanted to move forward my membership could potentially be suspended. I said I still would like to move forward because I am not the one lying. He suggested that we can apologize to each other and move on. Absolutely not. I will not apologize to a man who called me a profanity. A few minutes later he brought over the guy who apologized but then lied in front of both of us and said he was “sorry but he didn’t call me a “profanity” more lies. I let it go. I was asked again if I still want to follow through with the investigation. At this point I felt like a bother and said no. I understand that the manager probably deals with situations like this and while they are exasperating and annoying, I would have liked more grace and genuine empathy. At the end of the day this is a bigger man verbally assaulting me at a gym. I think that warrants him being kicked out. My partner was on the phone when all of this happened and heard the entire thing down to the guy calling me a profanity to the unsympathetic tired tone of the manager.

This Blink used to be a decent gym, but it’s really gone downhill. Gym etiquette is nonexistent — there was a guy reading a book for half an hour while hogging half the dumbbells. There's a gym creep who was doing Capoeira and took up half the floor mat space, while everyone else had nowhere to stretch. Staff are essentially invisible, so no one intervenes when things get out of control.
Additionally, the facilities are in poor condition. Almost all the machines are either defective or broken. Every so often, random water drops fall from the ceiling — not exactly something you want dripping on you while working out. Hygiene is another issue: no paper towels anywhere to wipe down equipment, which makes the whole place feel unsanitary.
It’s clear the gym isn’t being managed or maintained the way it once was. Definitely not worth the membership anymore. Just pay more and find a higher-quality gym with fewer bozos.

I come here all the time, but the etiquette is lacking… macho men hog the weights, a lunatic jumps around and yells at people while blasting music from a speaker, you have to ask staff to replenish the paper towels.
That being said I’ve been coming here for 8 years, it’s just been going downhill a bit.

I tried to cancel at the front desk they told me I had to mail in a letter. They didn’t mention needing to use certified mail. Months later I was still being billed despite not going to this gym in months because I moved out of state. When contacting them they said they never received the letter and I could’ve canceled at trint desk despite the front desk telling me I must mail a cancellation. They said unless I show verified mail receipt I had to pay the 3 months I didn’t use the membership and 2 more months from date of cancellation because it takes 45 days to cancel: Fast forward despite months of not using the gym and still paying for some of those months they sent me to collec to one for $50

I believe this branch of Blink (Ridgewood )need to update their equipment some of the pads on the equipment is worn out or torn Often the gym equipment is dirty- bikes Too many cardio machines & not enough weight machines The gym need more dumbbells & kettle bells For some reason recently there isn’t enough mats when the gym has a lot of people When it’s extremely hot outside, the air conditioning needs to be cooler The care given to this branch seems to be slighted because of the location & the affordability of the membership fee The equipment needs to be checked daily because I’ve seen equipment broken for a long time Possibly signs should be displayed mentioned how the equipment should be cared for by the members The gym could have less cardio machines & more weight machines, mats , more less heavy dumbbells & kettles ( especially for the women & older members)

Like many gyms, Blink has bad contract terms. You will definitely loose a lot of money if you need to end your membership. Management is not friendly about this, and it is extremely difficult to contact corporate administrators to fully cancel a contract. A friend came and set up a trial day while visiting and was stuck paying a year later, even though they live in another state. I got the sense this was intentional, and very dishonest. Would not recommend this gym (plus its super busy most of the time)

I’m not sure why the reviews here are so negative—my guess is a lot of them are outdated. Like any gym, it gets busier during peak hours, but that’s totally normal. My experience has been solid overall. The gym is kept pretty clean, the staff are friendly and helpful, and there’s a nice sense of community.
I’ve been training with Jordano for a few months now, and he’s been great. He makes the workouts fun, teaches me new techniques, and holds me accountable. It’s clear he enjoys what he does and genuinely cares about his clients. I’ve made progress and actually look forward to my sessions—which says a lot!

Very poorly kept gym, many machines are broken and have been for months. They rarely replenish the wipes for machines so no one wipes them down, super unsanitary. Also no one re-racks their weights and people sit on machines for hours. Of course this is a budget gym so you don’t expect super high standards, but this one is really bad compared even compared to other blinks in the city.

I’ve been coming here for the last (almost) five years and haven’t really had a huge issue. The weights are usually left around and the staff doesn’t really pay any mind to putting anything back where it should be so everything’s kind of everywhere.
I got used to that for the most part, but I got yelled at by a fellow gym member when I asked him to lower his music playing on a boom box speaker, which I could hear over noise cancelling headphones and music at full blast. He’s had yelling issues at least 3 times when people ask him to lower his music, yelling across the gym two of the times. He’s been playing his music on a speaker for the last the last few weeks and I haven’t seen anything done about it besides him being walked out twice and coming back the next days to do the same thing. Just the generally rude presence and violent yelling, and worrying about it happening again, kills the early gym atmosphere.

This review isn't a reflection of the Ridgewood, Queens location per se but of the Blink Fitness brand in general. I signed up for a "complimentary" 1-month deal that was priced at $0.01 with no hidden fees. After cancelling, I found that this offer was too good to be true far too late. The company promotes deceptive advertising to get you to pay the equivalent of one month's membership if you don't notify them within 45 Days.

Gym quality and cleanliness has decayed badly! Anywhere I walk either locker rooms, bathroom, or workout sections in general is always dirty with either paper towels on the floor or garbage in general such as cans and food.
Bathrooms soap dispensers are never working either.
Too many kids playing around lately, the gym is supposed to be a safe and comfortable place to exercise , but with kids playing around, fighting, and jumping over each other is impossible, It’s irritating having to move to the side while having to not get hit by them.
All this has been happening while STAFF, and Managers are witnessing it and do NOTHING about it.
This has been just a few but main problems going on lately and as a person who’s paying their subscription and for a service I think I speak for a lot of people when I point a these issues.

Nahhh idk how someone steals a lock from your locker and not the stuff inside of it, I can't even feel secure with leaving my stuff in the locker room anymore. Everything that people are saying here is legit. There's not enough dumbbells. It's always packed, there's never paper towels, or sometimes the trash cans are full of garbage, and now I can't even leave my stuff in the locker room with a lock on. I was told there would be no cancelation fee, but I'm being prompted with one. Would not have bought this plan. I'm hit with a surprise $60+ "maintenance fee" which seems to go nowhere considering the sanitation standard this gym has. Spoke to online customer support, had my time wasted. Despite the many reviews that may seem negative, I've come around here twice and both visits were pretty decent. The gym is fairly large with the locker rooms being in the basement area, depending on the day and time, you might get lucky like me and not have to wait a second on someone using a machine. It's a nice spacious area, however my main complaint is upkeep. The staff seems relatively unattentive in the gym and the etiquette of said gym goers shows for it.
Majority of the free weights were unracked, I felt that I needed to at least place them back where they're supposed to be because no one else is doing it and half of the cleaning stations were out of paper towel. No one should have to walk across half of the gym to get cleaning supplies. C'mon staff, GET IT TOGETHER! Other than that, a fine place especially when it's not flooded with people.

Stay away from Blink Fitness all together. Their practices are borderline illegal. They'll get you in with a low introductory cost, then charge you all sorts of extra fees and then when you go to cancel they'll try to charge you $100 just to cancel. If you tell him you're moving away, they'll say they need proof that you're moving away and that you have to send them an email to corporate. They make it absolutely impossible to cancel without paying them more. I ended up having to get a new credit card. They are scam company plain and simple. If I could give zero stars I would.

Even the clock that is in the stretching area has been stuck on the same time for the last few months. The fan bike has been broken for over a year. Wiggling seats on some of the machines. Missing hardware.
This gym in particular needs a lot of little things to be repaired that have not been addressed.

Canceled my membership after a year. The gym is dirty at all times, the trash is overflowing and their wipes, sanitizer and spray is always low or empty. When you walk in most of the employees are on their phone and can't even greet you. I don't think saying hello and keeping the gym clean should be that hard but clearly, it is.

They have barbells on each of their squat racks for all the essential work outs. I rely on this gym ever since Blink Ozone Park decided to not order new Barbells when they get damaged. Seriously, thats all I ask for and I'm happy to have, proper and useable gym equipment. I like this gym it's decent, just wish there was a closer location.

The clientele is something else. You will see a lot of high schoolers and immature people all around. Free weights is ALWAYS a mess. The employees will clean it but won't do so until the hour before closing as the weights will be ALL over the place and people RARELY put the weights back. Its a mess

So bad. Worst gym I’ve ever been to. So crowded!!!! There’s people hogging 3+ sets of weights by their benches. I feel like staff should be monitoring better and limiting capacity. What are you guys doing???? Managers are a joke. How do you guys let people come in with speakers blaring??? There’s a lot of kids working out and not being respectful to time on equipment. It’s not enjoyable to workout here but unfortunately it’s my only option. The facilities are nice and kept clean though (kudos to that dept)

Monday 9:30pm impossible to do anything except maybe pushups !!! Pretty much everything is taken by people with phones in their hands.. 3 sets take them 25 minutes ofcourse while watching or playing with their phones. Clean workout are and clean lockers. But way too many people obsessed with theirvphones.

Love this gym, things can be kind of full at times but the staff is pretty active about getting things refilled/ cleaned. They’re also pretty active about fixing super popular machines. Staff is always friendly too.

Joined Blink through this location when it first opened. Used to love it. Things have changed considerably and I now go out of my way to avoid this gym.
It's pretty much always unbearably crowded. Not uncommon to wait 20-30+ minutes for a squat rack. The layout they changed it to is a poor use of space and counter-intuitive, imo. No wipes anymore. Just, overall, an intensely frustrating experience.

Clean, you get what you pay for. AKA every single pull day it’s like a scavenger hunt looking for the right dumbbells. Like a jungle watching people squat in the deadlift platform. Like a comedy watching high schoolers try to bench 2 plates. This gym is insane, always crowded. But it’s clean and cheap so…

I used to like coming when they were newly opened but its just downhill. Sanitation stations are empty, garbages are overflowing onto the floor theres no spraybottles at all stations so you have to walk all the way across. Have to wait to use machines. Sometimes i give up and just leave. Ridgewood has become a dump where no one cares and the low morale shows inside establishments like this

Way too packed. Can’t use basic machines because there are too many people there all the time, including groups of guys who take forever and don’t seem to care if anyone is waiting. Blink makes it hard and inconvenient to stop your payments even after your contract with them ends. I really don’t recommend.

reiterating a lot of what other one star reviews have explained - there’s just no room to work out. groups of teenagers unsupervised, working out in groups of 4 to 5. I’ve been to my share of namebrand / affordable gyms, and for some reason this gym has gotten a bit unbearable with the amount of people they are letting in. it may not be a specific advisement to this location, but perhaps Blink the company in general can implement only a certain amount of people in during peak times. otherwise your membership goes to waste waiting for machines where nearly 1/3 of them are broken. this is for all times of the day, by the way. i can’t complain about the staff, though im not sure what they do exactly but at least they say “hello” when i walk in ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

In terms of equipment it's good. What makes it unbearable sometimes is that you have lines of people waiting for a rack. And dealing with both grown adults and teenagers scattering plates and dumbbells all over the gym as of they were never taught to pick up their toys when they are done.

Don’t even bother. Extremely crowded at all times. Try having a line of people waiting for a machine, groups of high schoolers dominating the squat and smith machines and not letting you get on. Felt like I was spending more time waiting than working out. Workers don’t do anything about it either. Not worth it.

What makes me give this Blink 2 stars instead of 1 is the fact that the staff are generally nice. They are all pleasant to talk to and do the customer service required of their job well. Without this saving grace i would give this location 1 star. It is overcrowded, even just before they close, and the people that go there are inconsiderate. It is a consistent experience for me at this gym that I will wait 20-30 minutes for a squat rack or bench press. It will be the same people using the same piece of equipment for that amount of time. I appreciate that the staff redid the layout of the equipment as it makes the gym feel more spacious. But they need to either get more squat racks and bench presses, put up signs that say “please be mindful of how long you are taking on the equipment” or something to that effect, or both. I have gone to this Blink, Boerum Hill, and Bryant Park many times. You will have to wait for equipment at all of them, but this is the only one where you will have to wait 20-30 minutes.

While the rest of NYC businesses have to provide soap and disinfectant spay blink feels like they can do the opposite and encourage the spread of disease by having broken soap dispensers in the bathrooms for months, hand sanitizer dispensers that are always empty, bathrooms that smell so much like mold it makes you choke and the alcohol in the spray bottles has no smell and is likely just water. The Heath Departement needs to do their job and fine this place so corporate pays someone a few extra $ to actually put a little effort into making it a clean safe environment. Attached are photos of the broken equipment, empty hand sanitizer stations and how all the soap dispensers in the bathroom are broken so they make you just dump a bottle of shampoo/body wash on your hands if you wanna try and be hygienic. Really shocking how little these people care

Hopefully staff actually reads this but who knows lol
Its a relatively good experience at this location. Most of the staff is nice and say hi. Everyone that goes there minds their business and does their thing. There are hour stretches where machines are available.
The past few months Ive noticed that the weights by the stretching area are always missing. Even when the area empty, there are only a few weights on the rack. I don't know how this issue can be resolved but it’d be great if it was.
They recently changes the floor plan and it makes the space look brighter and bigger. Although the ab machines being right in the corner of the stretching area throws me off.
Hopefully more improvements are coming our way to this location!

Continues to be overcrowded, and even worse, never any weights or benches available. You often have to wait over 10 minutes for a bench, and give up on whatever weights you want.
I've had a couple calls with management about these issues and despite their hopeful sounding promises, nothing ever changes. It's been months.
Don't get me started on the bathrooms always being broken too. Apparently they expect you to just touch equipment after using the toilet, because all too often the soap dispensers and faucets don't work. I've seen others around me complaining about that too. Just use hand sanitizer? Maybe, except when those are empty.
The staff, however, is great! Always friendly. I'm amazed they keep their cool with the other issues this place has.
They'll reply with another copy paste here, saying thanks for the feedback etc, but nothing will happen.
Blink, if you respond to saying you'll take this into consideration in the future, you hereby agree to allow me to terminate my membership without notice or fees when I relocate (and find another gym that tries to improve itself).

Crowed no matter what time it is. I asked to down grade last night and the front desk guy gave me the wrong information regarding my membership. I have the membership that I can go to multiple and I only want one location. I received a email regarding $20 a month and it’s for multiple locations and unlimited guest. I’m paying $25. I was told it’s only for one location no guest and I would have to cancel current membership. No happy with Blink at all,

This gym was always good to go to and was crowded at peaks hours like any other affordable gym. The difference is that somewhere in 2022 and 2023, this location at least, has just straight up allowed teenagers here (below 18) without clear adult supervision.
It will be a group of 3, 4 or 5 teenage kids all over the cables machines and bench presses without doing any of the work. I am not saying because they are novice that they shouldnt be able to work out.
It is just clearly a violation of Blink Fitness ploicy being completely ignored by either staff, management or corporate.
Its just irresponsible.

Don’t go to this gym. It’s not worth the time and effort. I had a membership due to convenance of location but anytime I called for anything as a member it’s like talking to a wall. You can’t just ask a question and just get a composed answer. Instead your meet with hard and fast negativity. Try to inquire about the hours the manager will be in to talk to and get the run around. I’m sure they have very little to do other then answer members questions and concerns but they hang up on members rather then find a resolution. Long story short there staff are there for nothing more then to open, hangout by the front desk and close. Spend your money somewhere else.
