I am a regular. I took the 7:00 am hot 90. A new instructor. She is amazing. Please bring her back. She brightened my day. Well done.

Eddie M. is hands down the best yoga instructor I have ever had. I took the Hot Yoga 75 minute class, and his cueing was incredible, clear, supportive, and perfectly on time with the flow. He knows how to push you to your limits in the most encouraging way, and I felt so accomplished afterward.
If it’s your first time, I recommend starting with the 45 minute class just to get used to the heat, and then work your way up. The energy, the challenge, and Eddie’s teaching style made my experience exceptional!
Will absolutely be back! 🧘♀️🔥

I truly appreciate Bode and being able to practice when I’m in town… and especially wanted to give props to John Salvatore. He is such a solid, old-school teacher. In these days of so many disciplines becoming diluted and soft, his class is consistently good and hot and pure. I’ve been practicing off and on at this studio for over 15
years. It’s changed my life exponentially. The teachers are the best in the country ( I travel
a lot and know). Very grateful. Thanks again.

Have never been here before and had a really positive experience. Took a 90 minute hot yoga class with John and he was a very knowledgeable instructor. He made sure people in the class were doing ok. He encouraged me to push myself in a good way. I haven’t done hot yoga in a long time and am glad I came here for getting back into it. Also liked the locker area even though it was a little small, it had clean showers and the lockers were easy to use.

My instructor Mark is very good, he trains you to focus on breathing and staying centered throughout. The staff Cyan is also wonderful, very kind and attentive and caretaking to your needs. Cyan made sure I was well taken care of when I was feeling dizzy from the intense heat and feeling dehydrated, Cyan gave me cold towels and electrolytes when I was feeling nauseous from the intense heat and had to calm down. Truly great service and support.

One of the worst experiences I’ve had in nyc. The instructor was passive aggressive at first and made me want to leave the class much earlier (I did so). Most importantly - horrible customer service. The guy at the front desk was fake nice, but talked in a bad way about me while I was in a changing room and he was that loud that I could hear everything. NOT RECOMMENDED

I came here for my birthday because I wanted a challenging workout, a good sweat, and to finally try the studio that’s been blowing up on TikTok and it exceeded my expectations! My class was with Aura and her vibe, playlist, and energy were absolutely on point. She was very mindful about giving us breaks and encouraged modifications, which made the class welcoming yet still very challenging. I don’t think I’ve ever sweated so much in a workout and I normally only do heated mat classes.. This was a full 60 minutes of intensity! Aura used every single minute, which made it feel like such a good investment of time and money. After class, I went upstairs and found they had filtered water and showers, which was a huge plus. I also had the chance to chat with the owner, who was so kind and even gave me recommendations for other great studios.
If you go, be ready to strap in for an amazing heated class. I will 1000% be coming back!

I recently took the sculpt class 6/24 @5:30 pm and while I appreciate the structure of the workout, I felt uncomfortable with the instructor’s approach. There were comments like “you made the effort to be here, so give it your all,” which came across less as encouragement and more as shaming, especially for someone like me who’s just getting back into working out. Not everyone can (or should) push to the same level, and the tone and other "cues" felt judgmental rather than supportive.
There were no modifications also. It just felt like you should be at the same level everyone else is at or your just dragging the class down/making it more difficult/inconveniencing your neighbor. Mind you this was the hottest and humid day of the year.
I was also uncomfortable with being asked to turn to my neighbor and give them a high five. As someone returning to fitness after a long break, this kind of forced interaction felt awkward and unnecessary. It would be great if more sensitivity were shown to different comfort levels, fitness levels, health levels and personal space.
Overall, I didn’t feel the class fostered an inclusive or encouraging environment for people at all stages of their fitness journey.
However, the HIIT class on Saturday 6/24 @11am was excellent. This instructor was encouraging, compliemented my form and didnt feel judgmental at all! I didn't feel shamed for not being on the same level as the people who maybe take classes every day.. She was attentive and opened the door a few times after reading the room. This instructor was attentive and truly cared about her students. I would sign up for a pass just to take her class. Much kudos to you, and I wish I could remember your name ❤️ The front desk staff and the cleaners after the class are amazing and super helpful. 10/10 for these kind people.

I really like the teachers here but there’s a huge hygiene issue in this studio!! I have been to bode for a while, I know it is not the cleanest studio in nyc, but I never know its that bad that there would be cockroaches in the studio.. I was there earlier this morning and some people saw a cockroach outside the second floor studio near the shoe rack. The staff was looking for it but failed to find it. The whole class I was just worried that it may crawl into the room especially coz my mat was right at the door. Im totally disgusted, have never seen anything like that in any other hot yoga studio. Really like the teachers here, like the workout. But for a $35 class, I expect to be able to workout in a clean and comfortable environment, I will never return.

Just finished my first class and I feel great! First, I’d like to say that the staff is super sweet- I was running a few minutes late due to train delays and they were nice enough to leave a mat/towel outside of the studio for me to be able to get right into the class :) I was stressing out because I thought I was going to miss it lol. Also, Aura (instructor) is amazing ! Love her attitude/vibe and her playlist is so good too!

I think it's the best all-around hot (Bikram) yoga studio in NYC. The teachers are knowledgeable and kind, the studio has a warm, welcoming feel, and everyone seems happy to be there. The upstairs room can get super hot, which is my preference -- you'll definitely sweat! Good for beginners and experienced alike.

Somehow after all the backlash, the bikram instructors specifically are STILL shaming paying customers for drinking water during class due to it being "distracting". Also telling customers that they can't exit the extremely hot classes if they need a minute/feel unwell and saying that they have to "take breaks on the mats?" Save your money and find a studio that actually addresses this behavior with their staff

Best bikram studio in the city in my opinion. I go to John S’ class and he is a true master. The room gets super hot yet his passion, wisdom, and energy keep us all going. It’s not only the most sweaty workout that I get to do to detoxify my body, it’s also my weekly spiritual pilgrimage to reset my soul. A challenging meditative transformative yoga session is how I would describe this.

Lastly love that this studio is in a great location steps away from the Flatiron building

I’ve been a member of bodē nyc for some time now, and I can confidently say their classes are by far the BEST in the city. The entire experience feels like a family, with each instructor bringing their own magic and energy. Aura’s classes are transformative—her presence creates such a motivating and uplifting space. Marissa’s sculpt classes are next level, giving you the perfect blend of intensity and fun. Lorenza and Kathleen are truly exceptional for yoga, offering sessions that feel like a reset for both body and mind.
A special mention goes to Guadalupe at the front desk. She’s the sweetest, most calming presence you could ask for when you walk through the door. Her kindness and warmth set the tone for the entire studio experience. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced yogi, bodē nyc offers the perfect environment to grow and thrive. It’s not just a studio—it’s a community I’m so grateful to be part of!

I would rate this establishment zero stars if possible. Upon entering, I was immediately confronted with an unpleasant odor, which is surprising given my experience with other heated classes that maintain a fresh environment. Additionally, the towels provided for wiping sweat were inadequately cleaned, leading to severe itching on my neck after use. This resulted in a rash, which I believe is a fungal infection due to the unhygienic conditions.
When paying for a class and using equipment, I expect a high standard of cleanliness. Given the heat, greater precautions should be taken to ensure that both the facility and rental mats are thoroughly sanitized. My frustration cannot be overstated.

Only went here once and have no appetite to go again. The instructor was incredibly rude and disrespectful of the students. She made it a point to humiliate the students, if they needed to take a break or drink water. I don’t know if this attracts people but this is not the spirit of yoga. They also charge for mats?!?! And they’re restrooms are okay at best. Skip this studio.

Ok mat Pilates class. A bit overwhelming with the amount of people in the class it’s hard to see your instructor or frankly understand her cues.
They don’t have a water filter station, was told there’s a sink (bathroom) or water bottle for purchase. All of your classes are heated and you don’t have a filter station? How money hungry of a company are you for profit that you can’t even get a water station.
No locks for storage, you need to bring your own or hope for the best. With the amount of traffic in and out of the studio I would be cautious.

I attended an advanced class at Bode Yoga today. The heat in the studio was intense, creating conditions similar to a sauna. This environment helped me maintain focus on my breath throughout the session, which was essential for managing the physical demands of the practice.
The session had a positive impact on my performance, as evidenced by my post-yoga activity. After the class, I completed a 12.33-mile cycling ride on the West Side Greenway and achieved several personal records. The combination of focused breathing and the heat in the studio contributed to this outcome.
For those looking to enhance their physical performance, Bode Yoga’s advanced classes offer a challenging yet effective environment.

Similar to other reviews, the Bikram yoga class is just too hot to be comfortable. I missed out on most of my only chance to work out today because the room was unbearable, I almost fainted. It feels like a health hazard to be honest. I’ve been doing hot yoga for 10+ years and have never, ever had to leave a class much less take a break. The instructor also was not for me. I did love the HIIT 60 class with Chris I believe was his name earlier in my trial week, but wouldn’t go back based on the experience with the heat today.

The classes here are amazing and I love the teachers. I have been coming for years. I plan to keep coming. However, the towels here consistently smell absolutely foul. I have gotten shower towels that smell like mildew and mat towels that smell like baked-in sweat, ammonia and body odor.
The smell of the towels gets much worse in the hot room. It's like shoving your face in someone's two-day-unwashed sweaty arm pit.
You can definitely tell when they get new towels because they smell at least neutral.
If you bring your own towels and mat this place is great.

The best yoga studio I’ve been to. I’ve been to tons of yoga studios over the last 11 years. This is by far my favorite yoga studio I’ve practiced bikram yoga at. Great if you’re traveling. They’re very accommodating, they loaned me a lock, yoga towels, they have great showers with body wash, shampoo, conditioner, hair dryers and plenty of lockers and space to change. The drinks are not over priced like most studios. Check in is on the 3rd floor. I had a great check in experience with Cyan he was really kind, friendly and helpful. Bonus appreciation when he called me because I forgot some of my things. He’s a lovely person with the perfect personality for yogis. Mark Far’s evening 90 minute class was difficult but in a very good way. As a traveler he all warned me it’s hot. It’s a bit warmer temperature than the studios at home. Mark knew when to suggest encouraging to keep going and when to offer support when he saw me struggling. He’s kind, extremely knowledgeable with a really fun vibe. Lindsay’s 75 minutes morning class over looking Fifth Ave lovely she’s a vibe, totally fan girling over her. She’s also very kind, encouraging, knowledgeable with a fun vibe. Both instructors have amazing personalities. They both made me smile several times through my difficult journey. The students are as amazing and kind as the staff. They made me feel extremely welcome. I wish I had more time to practice with them. I wish I could bring this place home with me. If you’re new to this practice, or like me traveling in from out of town. Check in early, the trick is to get a spot by the window or door. Trust the processes and the instructors they know what they’re doing. This place is magical, I highly recommend coming here. I will be back on my future travels.

Long time Bikram yogi here -sad to leave this review but it’s apparently under new management and I wish I never gave them my money. Teachers feel new and inexperienced with timing and heat regulation . I gave up after only 3 classes on their way too expensive package and went to hot yoga Chelsea. There is also One Yoga downtown. Both places I left floating instead of feeling choked in class and frustrated after. Sad to leave this like I said , but new management /owner is not good and I wasted money on a package I don’t want to use .

I have been doing Bikram for 12 years and of having done it for so long you can imagine that I really enjoy the heat. I do not enjoy it here. The heat level in this studio is insane. I have never seen so many yogis sitting down on their mats for such long periods. I myself have not had to sit during a class in years . Yesterday I lost out on half the class when I felt the need to sit. I do not understand the theory behind this. It is so hot that the floor itself is like beach sand on a 95 degree day. I cannot imaging how many people try it out and after the first day do not return. On top of everything I think it is bad business model. If twelve years ago this studio had been my first experience I would not have continued. Trust me if the room was 5-7 degrees cooler the workout would still be great and everyone would be still soaked with sweat. I will finish out my ten pass and then have to strongly consider another studio.

Recently, I signed up for a class. Prior to the class, I called 20 minutes to let them know that I'd be running late because of unexpected subway delays. They mentioned that they'd hold a spot for my guest and I. We were 5 minutes late, and the teacher rudely denied us entry to the class.
I didn't make a fuss out of it; I simply left. Since I was visiting NYC from abroad, I emailed them for a refund.
For the past 2 weeks, I've repeatedly reached out for a refund, and they refuse to give me my money back. They're rude and unprofessional. As someone who has been a practicing yogini & yoga teacher for 20+ years, this is a horrible example of what yoga is about.
The true nature of a business is revealed only when something goes wrong.

I practiced at this studio for at least 5 years before the pandemic and I used to love it there. Came back for a visit and made the mistake of taking Lindsay's class. Holy H*ll did she have the heat up high. I have practiced Bikram all over the country for a very very long time and I am also one of those people who used to park myself in the 'hot spot' in the room... So for someone like me who is a heat junky to say the class was hot enough to roast a chicken... you know it was really bad. I have a sauna at home and the room felt hotter than my sauna.1/2 the class left the room and I almost did too. I should have . I honestly felt it was disrespectful to all of our practices and time to have the heat going at sauna levels. Sad that they redid everything and hired teachers that would do something like this.

I’ve been practicing Bikram since 1999 and even managed a studio in California . Bikram temp is 104. It’s deranged and dangerous for a studio to be heated to 114 at the start of the class no less. How do I know it was 114? The teacher told the class right after opening breathing . I’m sure it got even hotter as the class progressed as she barely cracked the windows and never opened the door. I absolutely love a hot class but this was insane . Talk about clueless teacher too . 6 people left the room which should have been her cue to drop the heat .

I recently resumed my hot yoga practice in 2023 with Bode Yoga NYC. The Bode community is very welcoming - the teachers guide the classes with care, following the traditional 26 postures while ensuring all participants receive personal attention as needed. Bode hosts 2 studios with 2 practice rooms - one in Flatiron and one on the Upper East Side - supplemented by online sessions. Membership is offered in monthly tiers and class packs with many class options to fit everyone’s busy lifestyle. While I am a fan of the Flatiron studio, the flexibility of locations and online option plus multitude of classes allows for a continuous practice. If you are new to the practice or taken a hiatus, get back to the hot room with Bode Yoga NYC to find peace in your everyday life!

This is a great studio and one I visit every time I'm in NYC and actually have a bit of spare time for a class. They have two rooms, each typically "bikramy" so long time students of the 26+2 won't be off put. It's sweaty and that's difficult to keep spotless, but this facility does not disappoint in that regard. The teachers have been pretty impressive, too. I've only ever had 3 or so of them (I typically do only one time slot so that's not a surprise) and there are some legit old school dialogue teachers which I love. There are CLEARLY some of the celebrity types with a bit of a band of merry followers, but even they had quality twists on the instruction, albeit not as draconian as the old school cats. Whatever, all in I really like bodē and will certainly return. I should also add I've been practicing Bikram since 2000 and have been teaching pilates & IHP for about 6 years, so I've been to a bunch of hot studios.

The place could be cleaner though especially the changing area and benefit from a reno (a few touches could do wonders here) but I guess as rent is insane in NYC and is hard for studios to survive.

Although one of the only options for Bikram in the area, for what they charge they need to offer more. Instead of having a properly equipped Bikram studio with central heating, they just use space heaters which does not create the correct effect (esp in the 3rd floor studio). They also overbook classes, overheating the room even more.
Lastly, their floor is not Bikram-approved and is bouncy, making balance hard. If they want to be a true Bikram studio, they need to redo their facilities to properly create the sensation of heat and not rely on opening doors/windows constantly because the space heaters create such a suffocating, false heat.

Never have I felt so uncomfortable at a yoga studio. As a teacher myself I know the importance of new clients and first timers. Me, arriving as a first timer had a commute issue ending up arriving 3 mins late instead of 5 min early. The receptionist was extremely rude and went to lengths to almost make me more stressed out before practicing.
Once the instructor let me in, he was also extremely rude — again, NEVER been to this studio before, brand new client. After rushing me to get in (by the way ruining the relaxing vibe for everyone else), it took about 15 min into the class for me to settle and concentrate after being treated so rudely by not one but two people within my first few minutes of being there.
There was no welcome, nothing. Not even once I was done “how did you like your first class here?”
They clearly are not trained in customer service, nor the core principles of yoga to begin with. Tout long yoga pose names, but if you live that harshly, you’re missing the entire core of the study.
As both a yoga enthusiast and fellow teacher, I am very disappointed in my experience overall with the studio. There was also a very unpleasant odor once you got close to the ground that you could clearly smell.
With all that aside: The instructor, even if they were rude, did push everyone and you’ll get an insane sweat. If you can get over the attitude, unwelcomed atmosphere and bad odor, look past it- then maybe give it a try.

I travel often for work and often try other Bikram style studios when on the road. I was in NYC visiting from San Diego for a single day and hit this place up. Very welcoming. Super clean and comfortable studio and facilities. Charlie, our teacher, was tough as nails but encouraging too. In all my travels, I have never been to a studio even close to my San Diego school in heat. Charlie warned me I was in the hottest part of the room but, given my experiences, I figured no big deal. Well, it was truly hot yoga and it kicked my butt! In a great way! After flights, hotel beds, and irregular travel, it was exactly what I needed. Thank you!

DO NOT TAKE LUKES CLASS IF YOU WANT TO FEEL UNCOMFORTABLE. HE WILL EMBARRASS YOU. IF YOU WANT TO HAVE A PLEASANT MORNING DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS. I HAVE NEVER SEEN THIS TREATMENT BEFORE. I NEVER WRITE REVIEWS BUT BODE SHOULD REALLY CONSIDER GETTING A NEW INSTRUCTOR. SOMEONE THAT LIFTS PEOPLE UP NOT BRING THEM DOWN DUE TO HIS OWN UNHAPPINESS.

Nice studio very good instructors. The locker room is on a different floor than the yoga room, bring your own lock. The front desk is staffed so you can pop in between classes to check out the studio. You practice on a padded floor the upside is it's easy to clean the downside (for me) is balance. The only downside I felt was price, but that might be the cost of doing things in NYC

There is a lot to recommend at this studio; the facilities are top notch, it’s got a great location, and many of the teachers are world class yoga practitioners.
However, for anyone who has learned Bikram yoga elsewhere and wishes to continue practicing here, this studio is frustrating. Many of the precepts of the yoga have been relaxed in an effort to attract more students. Not only are many of the Bikram classes short, as short as 60 min, but they are also bedeviled by the lack of meaningful discipline and attention to detail. Students come and go during class, they arrive late and leave early. The many excellent teachers are not empowered to enforce the sort of discipline that allows students to grow their mind and body in an open-eyed meditation. This creates an atmosphere where experienced practitioners must practice their yoga not carried along by the group energy, but rather in spite of it. I have expressed my opinion to the owners more than once, and while they are receptive to students' views, they also feel they are making sound choices for their business and one can only respect their position. Having said that, if there were anywhere south of 145th street in Manhattan where I could practice Bikram yoga, I’d switch in an instant.

Absolutely love the HOT HIIT class and would recommend it to anyone who love hot yoga or HIIT classes. The only downside of the studio is the facilities, you will need to shower after this workout however, the locker rooms are a mess and could use an update. Also remember to bring a lock when you go as they are not provided.

I tried the intro 21 days package with Bode and loved it. Go early in the morning for plenty of space or after work for a full class with lots of energy. Each instructor has their unique teaching style so it keeps the standard pose series interesting. The online booking system is very easy to use and studios are cash free so can charge directly to your credit card. Minus one star for the locker space which I feel could be nicer given the price for membership.

The bathroom and locker rooms are always clean. The positive vibes and attitudes as well as the seriousness of the classes makes it easier to practice without distractions. I have had attended different instructors classes, all of them have been very great classes. I would recommend trying Hot Hit, and Yin Nidra as well not just the Bikram. Overall, will recommend to anyone!

Stick with it. It gets easier and it doesn't take long before you'll be looking forward to it -- even when it's 100 degree weather outside too!
The instructors are all nice and helpful and the fact that the posture sequence is the same each time means you can really see your progress. The bathrooms are a decent size and there is rarely a wait for the showers. Mat rental is a bit much ($5) so be sure to bring your own!

Bode Flatiron is great. They take measures to clean the studio after each class, which is extremely important for a Bikram studio.
While I like the studio and will continue to go there, they can make some improvements to the women’s locker room area. It’s not well laid out and can get very crowded. I also noticed that some teachers go off Bikrams script a bit, which is fine for most but can be a little confusing to newbies.

I love my new hot yoga class at Bode, Flatiron. Checking schedules and booking a class on their app is super convenient. The on-site check-in is quick and they now charge my credit card directly for extras like mat/towel rentals, so no longer a hold-up paying with cash. The bathroom is usually pretty busy before/after a class, but I can always find a locker and even the shower line is usually just a few minutes wait. I've attended classes hosted by several instructors, and have honestly enjoyed all of them. Two thumbs up!
