I was two minutes (2!) late to class and was not allowed in because the “instructors are very strict about timing”. Fair, very fair! I wish them and their high horse nothing but the best in life (including their level of understanding and grace) wherever it may lead them.

UNFORTUNATE.
I left the class early because I was tired of hearing his name. It was said a handful of times, I assume it was because someone in the class kept practicing their own postures. The class was taught by Eric. I went to the receptionist desk and asked two ladies as to why they still referred to it as Bikram knowing how problematic it is. They said we don’t list it as such online and I let them know that I was hearing in class. And they gave me a shoulder shrug face 😬. No, we can let the instructor know or we can talk upper management. Disassociating as a whole but especially because they were Women. I then replied I’m looking for a new yoga studio and the perception is that they care more about money than actual community and true wellbeing which is what Yoga is all about.

Marissa is the best fitness instructor I have ever taken!! As a former professional ballerina and current physical therapist, I can confidently say that Marissa teaches a safe but effective class that focuses on alignment, core, and full body strength! I religiously take her classes every week and have been pleased with the results, not to mention her personality is so fun and she’ll have you laughing while you shake! Definitely the best instructor at Bodē.

i've been practicing at Bode for over a decade! a fantastic selection of all flavors of hot yoga with a versatile enough roster of instructors that there's truly something for everyone.
recently, i've had great experiences with Lorenza and Mark.
Lorenza leads a challenging but accessible hot vinyasa flow that always feels more organic than robotic. she has a fantastic sense of humor and her approach to yoga means you don't really know how hard you're working until you're done.
Mark's 90m hot yoga class is deliciously traditional, but his delivery and attention to detail stop you from getting lost in the dialogue. he also leads a super relaxing hot yin that makes your lower back feel like butter.
neither Mark nor Lorenza are torture artists; the room gets hot, but they both read the room well and are careful to keep air circulating enough that we can actually do the yoga. if torture artists are your thing, however, Bode has PLENTY of instructors who are eager to cook you. whatever floats your boat.
both studios are clean and functional. it's not a 5 star hotel; sometimes there's hair in the showers, a clogged drain, or a hot n crowded locker room, but the staff works hard to keep up with the volume and it shows. everything you need is in-studio, including filtered water, electrolytes, mats n towels.

BEWARE OF THIEVES! I came to this studio a week ago and the class was okay, however the studio itself looked pretty old, outdated, and dingy. The lockers looked like they were all falling apart as well. I lost my headphones here and when I went back to the studio the employees were of no help. I asked them to check the camera as someone had taken them while I was in my class but the employees gave me an email to reach out to that did not work and nobody has gotten back to me in a week. I called the next day and they told me their manager was in the shower and would call me once available. They never called. I called several times that day after and nobody picked up. I called the next day after and nobody picked up. They even have a sign up in the locker room that shows a woman has been stealing things and to inform them if anyone has any information. What an unsafe environment for their clients! Please do not go here. There are plenty of amazing studios in NYC that have better security and lockers.

I have been practicing Bikram / 26&2 since 2008... and Jon Salvatore's class was one to remember. He's a real one.
As a practitioner, you certainly have to be on your "A" game in terms of proper hydration and preparation... but Jon gets everything out of you as a student. The dialogue remarkably helpful, with many eye opening cues throughout each posture. Jon has very uplifting and strong energy, which helps push you through the class. He cheered on each student by their first name, which is not something you always see.
Will be back. Thanks, Jon!

Favorite hot yoga studio on the UES. An actual, traditional practice that’s challenging and growth-oriented. The teachers are knowledgeable and the studio is hot which I like (sometimes too hot but I prefer it over not hot at all). Lorenza’s vinyasa class is definitely my favorite- she’s a gem 🥰

I been coming here for a while and love the class assortment it offers. All the teachers I have taken have been great and unique. I love mixing my classes up as my work schedule gets hectic from time to time.
When I want to go back to the basics I take a Bikram yoga with John or Kenneth.
When I want to take a more high energy class I love taking Eric’s hiit class. The music is always on point and he’s a great hype man!
At this studio is where I really got into vinyasa and I take Lorenza’s class every Saturday and the strength I have gotten from her class is extremely remarkable. I remember not being able to do wheels or inversions but each week I go ,I push myself and my body followed. I’m excited to go each week to see what else I amaze myself with. Heck I shocked myself in times like (damn I DID THAT!?)
Also I think the more you go to the studio like any other place you get to see familiar faces and it’s builds community because the people taking the class with you are all taking the time for themselves to get a workout in.
It’s really nice ♥️

I’ve been taking Lorenza’s Hot Vinyasa and Bikram classes every week for many years, and she is hands down one of the best yoga instructors I’ve ever had. Her passion for teaching and genuine care for each student’s well-being truly set her apart.
Lorenza’s Hot Vinyasa classes have an incredible flow—challenging yet grounding—and she always brings something new, whether it’s a thoughtful meditation at the beginning or a fresh sequence to keep things engaging. In both her Vinyasa and Bikram classes, she is consistently organized, paces the class perfectly, and never makes you feel rushed. She offers multiple options for each pose and creates a welcoming space where you’re encouraged to take breaks when needed and listen to your body.
Hot yoga isn’t for everyone at first—it takes time to adapt to the heat. I recommend practicing at least 2–3 times a week to allow your body to adjust. Even after nearly 20 years of yoga practice, I still need to pause now and then. Yoga isn’t about powering through; it’s a blend of meditation, mindfulness, and physical discipline. With Lorenza’s guidance, you’ll find that balance and continue to grow in your practice.
Highly recommend her!

It's been a few weeks since I started to practice Vinyasa with Lorenza and I love it! She offers modifications for all levels, the class has a great pace, not too fast, not too slow, making it a great workout. Lorenza has a calming presence, softness in her voice and her attention to detail when giving instructions helps us to feel safe and supported. My body and mind feel energized, relaxed and happy after Lorenza's class. The studio is great, clean and the staff is very helpful, friendly and keeps the studio up and running at all times.

I attended a hot vinyasa flow class on monday morning and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. I've been practicing hot yoga consistently for the last five months, so I am familiar with how intense and challenging it can be. However, the room was extremely overheated and the flow was rushed and overwhelming. About 30 minutes into the class, I started feeling dizzy and tried to rest in child's pose-a basic and essential safety practice in yoga. Shockingly, the instructor (Lorenza) explicitly told me "no child pose" and kept pressuring me to continue, even though i was visibly struggling.
Yoga should always encourage listening to your body, especially in intense conditions like hot yoga. Pushing students to ignore warning signs is dangerous and goes against the fundamental principles of yoga. I can't recommend this studio.

I love coming here! I actually appreciate how hot it is because it really gives that euphoric post class feeling. Plus, that's sorta the nature of Bikram! I've loved all instructors including John, Eric, Mark and Libby. There's something for everyone and it has become my favorite studio in the city, no frills, just great classes
PS, I have never once felt uncomfortable or made to feel like I can't drink water...Bikram yoga encourages having timed water breaks, but it seems completely OK if you can't wait until then ;)

I will never come back here. Signed up and reserved a spot for an 8pm hot yoga class yesterday. I got there at 8pm and the woman was yelling across the room if we needed to check in - extremely unprofessional. She told us to wait inside the hot yoga room the instructor rudely says there's no room for you and shuts the door. I complained to the lady at the front how that's not right after paying for the mats and reserved a spot a week in advance to be told there's no room? Quite ridiculous what's the point of even reserving.... I took time out of my day traveled from UWS to come here and got kicked out. It honestly made me furious.... That's not how you welcome new clientele... That'll be the last time my foot steps in that door. Gave me a dirty vibe too. I wouldn't recommend coming here at all

I enjoy coming to BODE and been taking different classes, especially hot sculpt. Ive been letting pass this issue for a while now but today was the worst! I understand many people want to try this class and they get on the waitlist however there are more people what the studio/room is supposed to hold and then it gets messy and extremely dirty. I was asked to move and make space for another person who had gotten to the class at least 10 mns late, he was so close to me that his sweat was literally on my legs! As a nurse, i do not want any humans body fluids on me especially when we are all sweaty, the only reason I didn’t leave the class is because i love and respect Marissa’s class. There needs to be a way to fix this, maybe actually implement a number of people who can get on the waitlist or just get rid of it cause today was extremely uncomfortable. This isnt the first time they book way too people on the waitlist and im pretty sure it wont be the last. Other hot studios are cleaner and not everyone is on top of each other but I really love the workouts here so please do something about it

I have been coming here for over a decade. Having practiced Bikram for 20 years, I can say this studio is far less rigid and more adaptable than many others. The introduction of music classes, sculpt/HIIT classes, and shorter classes makes me keep coming back. Jon S, Georgia, Bob H, John M, Fiona, and Landon are among my favorites instructors.
They have a lot of different teachers so if one isn’t your cup of tea, it’s easy to find someone who is (and that works with your schedule).
The facilities are clean and I appreciate the water fountain. My main recommendation is they stop selling plastic bottled water and go for a more eco choice (like boxed or aluminum containers for water), which most fitness studios (like SoulCycle and Solidcore) offer. IMO, yogis should lead the way with how our actions affect the collective and plastic is not helping the climate crisis.
Other than that one pet peeve, I am deeply grateful for this studio and rely on it for my mental stability and physical vibrancy.

The instructor performed well. However, the temperature in the sculpt class was unbearable, making it difficult to perform all of the exercises. The normal temperature for a hot Sculpt class should be 90 to 100 degrees. It should never have reached 130 degrees, as it did in the class, and I even got hotter. This is my first time taking classes here. I've been to other hot sculpting classes, but this is the hottest one I've ever taken, and I'll never go back. And it was pricey, especially for towels, which should have come free on the first day. The staff was highly inconsistent with charges. For example, they charged one of my family members for a mat and towel on her first day, but not me. I feel like if it’s your first time ever going to that class it should be for free.
Not to mention how unsanitary the room was. There is no wipes to wipe down any of your equipment. The locker room was really dirty and especially in the girls as soon as you walk the building, it smells disgusting.

I visited Hot Bode Upper East Side for the first time on 1/5/25 for an afternoon hot yoga session, and while the class itself was enjoyable, the overall experience was deeply disappointing due to the toxic culture and unprofessional behavior I encountered from the manager, Blayne.
As my friend and I left the class, Blayne, who had participated in the session, loudly commented to the front desk, “Are we letting people in late? We shouldn’t be doing that. I didn’t know if you all let them in or they snuck in.” This statement was made in such a way that it clearly singled out two of the only Black participants in the lobby, which made me feel immediately uncomfortable and targeted. At that moment, Blayne attempted to embarrass, shame, and label us as thieves, which felt incredibly disrespectful and isolating.
After a few moments, I approached Blayne calmly and respectfully to explain that this was our first class and that we would have appreciated some guidance rather than being shamed in front of others as we were the only late participants. Instead of taking responsibility for her words, Blayne became agitated and told me that she hadn’t been speaking directly to me, so I shouldn't have been bothered. When I pointed out that her words were loud enough to be heard by everyone, she dismissed my feelings, saying I shouldn’t be upset.
I tried to explain that her behavior had a negative impact, but Blayne quickly shut down the conversation by saying, "Sorry if that’s what you heard. Sorry that you feel this way." Her apology lacked accountability and came across as insincere, which only made me feel more invalidated. When I continued to express my concerns, she interrupted and ended the conversation abruptly, showing no willingness to engage or understand my perspective.
I was deeply hurt by her actions and, feeling overwhelmed, left the building. However, as my friends and I were discussing the experience outside, Blayne came out and overheard our conversation. Instead of being receptive, she became belligerent and started name-calling, accusing me of being "aggressive and violent." I tried to explain how harmful it is when white people use such language toward Black individuals, especially in this context, but Blayne continued to be dismissive and refused to take any responsibility for her actions.
This interaction left me in tears. I left feeling disillusioned and heartbroken, as I had hoped to find a space that was committed to inclusivity and racial healing. Unfortunately, Blayne’s behavior showed a complete disregard for these values. I will NEVER patron this establishment again so long as Blayne is the manager.

It was a good class but I found the culture sort of rigid and unfriendly. At one point during class, I had a small back spasm and did a stretch. The instructor stopped me in the middle of my pose and went, “that’s not the pose we’re doing.” When I tried to explain I was in pain, he said “we’ll get to that pose later.” I was shocked that he didnt trust me to listen to and honor what my body was needing (for ten whole seconds), and after the interaction I felt embarrassed. Did not feel like a safe environment and won’t be coming back.

I started my yoga journey at Bode about a year ago… when I first came to the studio I was NOT flexible. Adil & Charly’s class really helped me grow my practice. A year later and I’m keeping up with the veterans. I took 6 weeks off and came back to CHARLY’S class. Who by far is the most talented teachers I’ve ever met. She’s knowledgeable, traditional and attentive. She makes you feel like you are seen within her class. If you want a challenge, tradition and good vibes her class for you. Practice of traditional hot yoga Bikram style, can be challenging at the beginning, but at the same time physically and psychologically rewarding as you continue to practice.
The studio is very special.
It feels like a big family to me.
Where caring, connection, frustration and letting go interplay.
In the end, we are so similar to one another.
We have our likes and dislikes, happy and sad times ….some unsolved trauma emotions and frustrations from the past that pup up from time to time and take us to a less pleasant mind set.
The time in the studio helps me to connect with my teachers, the staff and fellow yogis by listening,by being here and now.
The skill of letting go,being present
Allow more flexibility with myself and others.
As my wonderful teacher Georgia says:
Try to take the skills and wisdom you learn in the hot room and apply it outside.
Try it !
I know I will ❤️☀️🐒

The teachers are knowledgable in proper alignment and encourge you to go to the maximum possible extension of the poses will being mindful of your body's flexibility and strength. Additionally, the teachers speak you through the poses and are not worried with demonstrating them in the front of the class. So, there is no need to elbow yourself into a good viewing position like most studios, and you cannot compare yourself to their poses and distract your mind with how much better or worse your posture is compared to theirs. This helps you to find your own alignment and pay attention to your body's movement capabilities. Moreover, the instructors are very attentive and are walking among us as we practice and actively correcting our poses and postures. As I mentioned, proper alignment is a priority for this studio, and the teachers take their responsibility as your "spotter" seriously to prevent injury and ensure you are having your best practice.
A side note, our instructors not only instruct, but they take classes given by their colleagues alongside us. For me, this shows how everyone is working on bettering their own practice constantly and at their own pace, and I really appeciate that as a beginner.

Unfortunately I did not enjoy my experience here, the room was so hot I got light headed and could not finish the class, this has never happened to me before in a hot yoga class. This happened in spite of me taking multiple breaks and drinking a lot of electrolytes during the class. This studio was noticeably hotter than a normal hot studio, and the class was meant to last over an hour. Not only that, but the instructor also encouraged us not to drink water for the first twenty minutes of class or while the class is in a pose (which is most of the time) and made negative comments about people drinking water at the wrong time. People should never be discouraged from drinking water in any fitness class let alone in a room that is so hot. When I left the room the instructor did not check if I was feeling okay and didn’t seem concerned that I was struggling and needed to leave, he only commented that I shouldn’t leave while the class is in poses because it disturbs them and I should have waited. Several people had to leave early and this didn’t alarm the instructor or staff at all, which makes me think this is normal here.

Instructor was incredibly rude and condescending. I am a hot yoga beginner and the instructor berated and mocked me in front of the entire class for briefly putting my hands on my hips and lightly fanning myself with the towel. She exaggerated my actions while imitating me in front of the entire class and asked “what does this look like?” And another student literally said “Drama!”. I had no idea a hot yoga studio could allow such a negative environment to persist. Was it really necessary to bring me down multiple times to set an example? Instructor also walked up to me to say, “you don’t really think that’s how the pose is performed, do you?” Before she proceeded to correct me.
I have had a positive experience with instructor John at this facility in the past. But after what happened yesterday, I will never be coming back.

Reception staff was friendly, but I found that to be the only redeeming quality of the studio. Despite this initial warmth, I agree with many of the reviews that criticized the classes for being led with a consistently condescending attitude, which fostered a hostile and unsafe environment. It felt impossible to center myself while constantly on edge. This was not my first Bikram class, but it was certainly the first where I felt incredibly unwelcome.
Midway through the class, I realized my blood sugar was dangerously low, and I knew I had to leave to avoid fainting. As I quietly exited, hoping to maintain respect for myself and those around me, I was unexpectedly reprimanded. No one wants to see someone faint, yet my decision to prioritize my health was met with disapproval.
I have never left a yoga class feeling more stressed than when I came in. The atmosphere was simply horrible—a toxic blend of hostility and arrogance. Save yourself the money and the stress; there are far better yoga studios out there where you can practice in a supportive and nurturing environment.

There are many nice things about this studio- friendly reception staff, space and light in the studio, nice towels (they smell much nicer now than they used to), good deals, great location.
Unfortunately a few of the things called out in the negative reviews are worth paying attention to, and I hope management will pay attention and correct these three things- Temperature, Bikram association, and berating people excessively if they leave the room.
Temperature: relative to other studios, the temperate varies more and is sometimes just too hot. It’s unnecessary for the average practitioner. Listen to us please! We don’t all want to be pros.
Bikram: certain teachers mention Bikram frequently, even though the studio is officially no longer associate with him (he is on the run, avoiding sexual assault charges). Decide- are you with him or not?
Culture of humiliation: when someone leaves the class, they are berated extensively, which is humiliating for that person and distracting for everyone else. It happens basically every class. If the studio is concerned about a persons wellbeing why not (1) give them electrolytes to try to keep them in class and (2) train your already fabulous reception staff to care for them if they take the decision that leaving an incredibly hot room is right for their body. It is not your body. Please cut the culture of “we know best” because it borders on bullying.
I agree with the review that says practicing yoga at this studio is “mentally frustrating”. If you lead this studio, please be open to this feedback!

I’ve gone to this studio twice, one year apart, and had opposite issues during my visits. The first time, the instructor called out my friend (who doesn’t practice regularly) and told her more than once to do the poses more like the woman on the mat in front of her. It made my friend feel really uncomfortable and awkward, which is the opposite of how a good yoga practice should make you feel. I went again more recently to give it a second try, and the studio was ridiculously hot. I’ve been practicing consistently for over 10 years and was really shocked that the studio allowed it to get up to 110 degrees. I enjoyed the instruction a lot this time but I wouldn’t put myself through that again.

Listen to these reviews, I wish I did before trying a class here! The room is so unbelievably hot it’s definitely dangerous. I’ve been doing hot yoga at Corepower on/off for 3 years, work out regularly, and almost passed out in that hot room during a HIIT class. I left early and I wasn’t the only one! WAY TOO HOT think twice before coming here!

Irena Mernik-Knee was really rude to me. It was my first time at the studio and I got there right at 12pm, meaning I entered class at 12:05. I apologized at the desk and asked if I could still enter given that it was my first time at the studio and had trouble finding the door.. When I walked into class, Irena asked me if everything was okay in front of the class and then asked me if I had my cell phone in the small bag. (I don’t have a lock to store my things and while I’m aware that it’s not conventional to bring items into studio, I had nowhere to put it and it’s the size of my palm.) I told her yes and she shook her head no and told me I have to take it to the front desk because there can’t be “waves” in the studio. Have never been told this before. I think she was annoyed I was late because, as soon as I walked in, she gave me this strange look like she was upset. Unprofessional. Instructors are supposed to be enthusiastic and welcoming. Regardless, her words Would have been fine if she told me all of this privately but hurrying me out of the class and talking to me like that was unnecessary. I am looking for a studio as I just bought a place in the neighborhood. The front desk person was kind and saw me leave early and asked if I wanted to do another class instead. Disappointed in how I was treated otherwise.

I did not enjoy my experience at Bode. I found the front desk to be unfriendly and unwelcoming. The studio felt dirty. During my one week trial, I took 5 “Vinyasa” classes and only 2 were actually Vinyasa. The other 3 were more Ashtanga/Bikram. I have no issues with other styles of yoga, but call it what it is. I found the rooms to be overwhelmingly hot, and I am a regular hot yoga practitioner and former yoga instructor; the heat was unbearable for me. One of the instructors would not let you drink water in his class, and if you attempted to have a drink in the overwhelmingly hot room, he called you out and embarrassed you. I would not recommend this studio to anyone.

I really wanted to like this place but I don't think I will ever go back. The heat was unbearable. I've taken hot yoga before but have never experienced heat like this. I physically could not keep up after about 10 mins. The instructor didn't allow us to drink water for the first 20 minutes of class which I thought was dangerous but I went with it. But this definitely should NOT be a thing. It's scorching in that room, smells terrible and there's no type of air circulation so you feel like you can't breathe. Imagine not being allowed to drink water. I was queasy, dizzy and eventually asked to leave and the instructor said no. There was 2 other newbies that seemed to be struggling just as much as I was and also asked to leave but she said no and would bring us water or electrolytes. Maybe ppl enjoy paying to be tortured....I on the other hand DO NOT. 3 days later and I still feel out of it. So think twice about visiting this place.

Amazing and challenging all at once. I hadn’t been to hot yoga since going to Bikram Yoga in Soho in the early 2000s. I moved uptown and have gone to a couple other spots, but this location is by far my fave. The front desk personnel are polite, the instructor Stephanie was clear and helpful, the locker rooms were nice and clean. Tip: they give you large and small towel for the yoga class but mats are $5. Extra towels for showers are $2. All in all, a great experience.

This studio is mostly traditional Bikram yoga. If that is what you like its a solid choice! Their Vinyasa class is not Bikram but not fully a flow either.
The studios are very very hot (which is fine)- but I find the lack of a water fountain at both locations very strange. And while it is difficult to keep a hot yoga studio clean, it seems like there could be more investment in upgrading the locker rooms, benches, showers, flooring (at both studios) and overall cleanliness given the price point of this studio.

My favourite hot yoga studio!
Floors are cleaned between classes and my sensitive nose hasn't noticed any sweaty smells!
The staff are welcoming, happy to offer modification suggestions for injuries and are so encouraging I feel like I earn a gold star for simply showing up!
The ladies locker room gets a little hectic after class, so I generally stay in savasana for an extra few minutes at the end of class.
For anyone new to the practice, hydrate well in advance (add some electrolytes to your water bottle), and stay in the room! If you’re fatigued and need a break, sit down - stay in the room - and just be still. Then book a class for the following day!

Like hot yoga but the room really stinks. Have been to all locations and same situation. Also some students sweat profusely. In a full class where you are 1 ft away from the next student who is literally spraying you with sweat/toxins, really not safe at all. And little pools of sweat all over the floor are just gross. Will not renew pass sadly.

Worst service ever: the booking app is a disaster. I booked a class and it didn't appear in the app for hours. So, booked it again and wrote to the support. Never got a reply from the support, but by the end of the day both classes (the same?!!) got booked. I received the confirmation emails. Cancelled one. On the day of the class: no bookings for the class in the app and they confirmed on phone that I am not on the list. I asked how I can cancel my pass - no reply. And they insist on using the stupid app (for cancelations especially). Fix it first.

I've been to bode twice and liked one of teachers I had. When I went for the second time the room where I took the class was very smelly, like a mix of sweat smells from different body parts that was really bothersome to me. That room needs desperately lots of air circulation and a good mopping on the floor every time a class is finish. Also, it might help to wash the windows not everyday but maybe once a week. Didn't see much cleaning happening while I was there. I will try one more time since I payed for the 3 classes and really need to do Bikram hot yoga but if that smell is still there, unfortunately don't know if I'll be able to stand it.

I really love the teachers here, Yarrow, Kathryn and John, Sam and others, but the front desk manager is seriously one of the rudest people I've ever encountered. She's loud, aggressive, and doesn't listen. And after she's been corrected on her errors, she has a horrible attitude. If you didn't have to deal with her, this studio would be fantastic. You'd think a yoga studio would train their staff better and create an environment of being a more welcoming, customer-centric community. But not here. Sucks, because it could be so much better.

My least favorite place to practice yoga. The heat system is awful, no air circulation. Classes here are way too hot, and the teachers kill you with heat instead of teaching how to create tapas(internal heat) from working muscles during practice.

I had been out of shape for the past few years and decided to make a change. I survived my first Hot HIIT class a few months ago by doing the modified variations of exercises I found challenging. You really do build up strength quickly. I progressed from one class a week to two a week and now three a week! I never thought I would be able to complete a whole class and now I can't imagine my day without it. The instructors also send you a thank you email for attending class. The front desk staff are ALWAYS pleasant, kind and welcome you with a smile. The intructors are great! they allow you to do what you can. No pressure. That is so important to me, no pressure, because im a beginner, out of shape and suffer from thoracic outlet, slow and steady is the way for me right now. They come around to guide you if you are having difficulty. They always ask if theres anyone with issues or weakness so that they can give you an alternate routine that would be best for your condition. The lockers/bathroom are well maintained, very very clean and organized. Bode provides you with calm, soothing relaxing classes and they also provide high intensity work outs that is filled with energy all around the room. I feel more relaxed and focus. My body doesnt feel so tight as before. My skin is so much more softer after sweating so much. I feel great! HIghly recommend Bode to get you off to a good start with fitness inside and out.

I really love Bode. I started going here when it was just Bikram Yoga UES, and at first I was hesitant to embrace the new classes but Sam's Tuesday 7am Hot HIIT has become a staple of my week and always puts a smile on my face, and I just love Olivia's 75 minute bikram chillax class (class with music). The studio hasn't lost its jazz or dedication to the Birkram practice, they've just become more varied. Plus, they're very reasonably priced as far as boutique studios go, and the front staff is lovely. I docked one star for the bathrooms and locker rooms - they're very small so I usually have to walk to the gym after to shower, etc. Otherwise - its a great place!

It was my first time doing Bikram yoga and i liked this place a lot. I took the first intro month and it was worth it. I will recommend this place to anyone who's interested in practicing Hot hathayoga.

when you practice a series like Bikram - one where the sequence of poses never changes - the teachers can especially make a world of difference! that said, i absolutely ADORE Kathryn. she has an ability to blend her knowledge of the physical body (anatomy/alignment/physics) beautifully with the true purpose of yoga (meditation/self discovery/stillness). she genuinely encourages growth and brings soul into her teaching. without question, bode UES is my favorite location. the floor plan makes the most sense, it's warm/inviting, the studios are very clean, spacious (without being too large like flatiron), light and beautiful. i adore practicing next to the large windows - it's really just lovely. also love my man at the front desk who always smiles. interesting how we really notice when people SMILE right? SMILE MORE, NYC! :) the mat rental prices are definitely crazy, but it's crazier not to just bring your own mat into the hot room. unless the money being collected for filtered water is benefiting people in africa - that's crazy too. that aside, if you practice Bikram, this is one of the best places in Manhattan to be :)

Welcoming, clean and spacious space. Hot HIIT is my favorite class. I always feel incredible afterwards. I don’t thunk I’ll ever stop coming!

If you love & respect yourself & your yoga practice then skip this unwelcoming place. Whenever I travel, I like to experience different yoga studios & teachers. After my wife & I had an amazing yoga experience last time we were in Nyc , I was looking forward to this. What a disappointment.
My friend & I arrived early for an Bikram class "led" by A young lady. The lady was arrogant, rude and unfortunately exuded terrible energy in the space. This women was truly put out by the fact that she had 2 non-regulars that she had to "deal with". The class was supposed to be 90 minutes long, but after a mere 50 minutes she said "ok, you guys are done." I have never met a more unfriendly New Yorker
So please do yourself a favor and skip this teacher/place. You will be glad you did.

An ideal setting for transformation. Instructors care and are passionate. Large variety of classes and instruction styles. Many locations. Clean. Amazing app to allow for flexibility for the busy Nyc lifestyle. I feel at home at Bode and guess what? that’s what Bode means. My Body is also benefiting... since doing daily yoga I have lost 12 pounds, I’m more relaxed, and am becoming more flexible every day.

The teachers are excellent and care about their students. The studio is lovely and the Bikram yoga has been an excellent core and body toner.

Top notch Bikram yoga studio. Clean and spacious locker room. Classes vary in difficulty (know your teacher), but are all great from beginner to expert.

Love, love these classes both Brikham and hot HIIT! All the instructors are great. I just finished up my intro month and it was well worth the price! The jump from $50 to $160 a month is a bit much though...

I took a 1month Groupon and, although an advanced yogi, this was my first Bikram yoga testing. This place has: nice staff, clean place, good changing room space with enough showers that I never had to wait, and a variety of bikram class types with extensive schedule to fit anyone + they recently added Pilates with 2 excellent teachers! My only reason not to give a 5-star is that not all teachers are as experienced to lead you through the poses smoothly, but overall really great place if you like Bikram or just to sweat!

The minute I walked into this studio it smelled disgusting. It seemed extremely unsanitary and the room was way too hot for a standard bikram room. For some reason, someone thought it would be a good idea to install carpeted floors in a bikram studio, which makes it extremely hard to clean and get rid of bacteria. There were puddles of sweat from previous classes, which had actually seeped through my towel. The studio instructor, Natalia, was really motivational at times, but then also very aggressive and almost judgmental at others. This is yoga... We're all there to relax, get a good workout, and gain some power for ourselves through this workout. Calling people out (multiple times) in a disrespectful, hostile way, was surprising coming from a yoga instructor.
Great physical workout, but mentally frustrating. Definitely will not be returning.
