Body & Brain Bronx Center is a welcoming, peaceful oasis in the Bronx. I have improved my physical condition through stretching, body tapping, meditation, tai chi and a host of other trainings. This has also led to an improvement in my emotional well being.

Body & Brain Yoga Tai Chi in the Bronx is a gem. I am happy I came upon this type of yoga. The instructors, specially Master Tatiana and Master Fred who are primarily the ones who lead the classes are both wonderful. They are a good balance of friendly and professional; they know everyone and attend to you with genuine interest. They have managed to provide a pleasant environment where everyone feels comfortable. It's truly a rare find. I originally had planned to signed up for only one year but realized that the variety in the exercises fulfills most of my needs. I feel great after each class.

Body & Brain Yoga/Tai Chi center is excellent place to improve your physical mental and emotional health . All the classes begin with some cardio, tapping the body, stretching and meditation. I had been dealing with ankle discomfort, which left me limping for a couple of days. Leo went above and beyond to assist me by introducing simple and easy stretches.The stretches were not only effective but also practical to incorporate into my daily routine. However, the person, who teaches classes here, recently showed me some incredible stretches and techniques that have helped me alleviate stress and increase my energy levels. I used to experience tense pain in my upper shoulder, but after trying these stretches, my body felt as if it were finally releasing all the tension. Initially, I was skeptical, but I was surprised by how effective they were. Now, whenever I feel stressed or need a quick energy boost, I perform these stretches. I even taught my mother how to do them, and she was amazed by how much they helped her too. Went there once it was just me and my brother it was empty probably because it was raining. Peaceful definitely worth the time if you have time and if you like yoga or want to learn yoga and be at peace this is the place to be. I was nervous at first was expecting a few people but it was raining I was tired after it’s so worth it. Definitely go if you have the chance go and see the when the free class is and see if you like it I did.

It’s like entering into a whole new world. The space is well kept; always clean. The people are so nice there. I was welcome from the moment I walked through the door. From several sources online: "It has been reported that Brain & Body aka Dahn Yoga is a cult in Forbes and Glamour and Rolling Stone and CNN" Another article - "Body and Brain Yoga, formally known as Dahn Yoga, is a very well structured cult". It pains me that they decided to set up studios in inner cities like the Bronx to prey on vulnerable people who they think are ignorant. Now I know why I left the studio feeling troubled and extremely put off by their energy.

When you push $200 class packages after someone opens up about their vulnerabilities and they disclose what needs to be prioritized (ie, their child) as a response, and that they can drop in every so often for the benefits of the classes offered, and then receive an answer of $30 adds up and "you need to prioritize yourself too" in order to push a $200 sale (I'm in my mid 30s and worked as an insurance agent, I'm very familiar with "pitches") instead of being understanding and encouraging the client with however they choose to begin their own journey, it comes off as extremely callous and disingenuous for the type of services provided. I've "walked in" to other yoga studios in different states and never experienced that.
I thought the assessment was in providing tips on yoga poses that would work best for a client, not - sure you can do the $30 walk in classes when you can but "we suggest you commit to our $200 class package, take classes twice a week, so we can see your level of commitment" and then be introduced to their oh so exclusive "work$$hop". Cult like vibes by exploiting the vulnerabilities of others. My commitment is to my and my child's journey, not in adding to the pot that pays your for profit organization.

Since March Body and Brain has been conducting on line interactive yoga classes. It has been a godsend! In the beginning of the pandemic, Body and Brain came to my rescue. Having to stay at home, and not socialize was very traumatic. But meeting online and practicing yoga with all the regular members, being able to greet each other was the next best thing to being at the center!
In addition I’ve taken advantage of the many trainings and seminars they offer. I’ve released a lot of stress and anxiety. I am at a good place right now, thanks to BodynBrain.

To me, the best advantage of Body and Brain Yoga and Tai Chi is that anyone can participate at any level. The classes are always different, taking in a little of everything including some cardio to wake up your heart. There are no specific series of movements or postures and much of it is stretching your entire body to help make it receptive to Universal Energy. The only constant is the “tapping” which in my opinion, is a form of meditation because it allows you to connect with your body while preventing distractions in your brain.

I’ve only been to a couple of centers and have taken a couple of workshops where I’ve met several Masters and many co-participants. I have found all of them to be genuine, well-meaning and considerate people. The Masters seem to have dedicated their lives to helping others and always make the time to do whatever they can to support their members.

The entire experience has facilitated my well-being even while going through one of the most devastating events in my life. Body and Brain has taught me to progress through life events with understanding and perseverance while trying to find direction and meaning. It has become a priority in caring for myself and finding happiness in my own life.

I came here last year around Christmas, I was battling a bit of depression as many do during the holidays. Giving thanx and expressing deep gratitude for this center. I joined last December and boy has my life shifted, the classes are very powerful and educational. Understanding the flow and movement of energy, has allowed me to become much more aware of myself and how I operate in the world.

The thing that impressed me the most thought is the amazing support I received from the instructors especially master Tatiana, you can clearly see the commitment she has to herself and the practice because she extends that care to others. I am truly grateful for this place, it feels like home it feels like family.

I have not only practiced with them at the studio but also have taken wonderful workshops that have helped me grow even more. It’s truly expansive. I made the decision to change my life in 2016. I went online for yoga classes thinking this would be a good start and I came across Body & Brain Yoga Tai Chi. I went to the Bronx location and it was a great experience. The instructor made my 1st experience enjoyable. As a 39yr old male I thought I had it together physically, turns out I was soooo out of shape. I worked out parts of my body that I didn't know needed working out. I was so taken by the environment and people there that I decided to become a member. I've done workshops that they offer such as "Finding True Self," "Dahnmudo," and "Belly Button Healing." Wanting to further my growth I decided to take the Dahn Master program to become a yoga instructor. From the moment I first walked through the doors of the Bronx Dahn Yoga Center, I experienced a feeling of relaxation and well being. I found the instructors and staff to be friendly and supportive, with the health, happiness and growth of the participants as their top priority. That was ten years ago, and this has been my consistent experience. When I took my first class I was stressed out, and was on Nexium for my sick stomach.
After only a few weeks of practice I experienced a marked improvement in my condition as my body re-balanced and healed itself, and I was able to stop the medication altogether when I went back to my doctor for a review. Very encouraged by this, I continued to practice and deepen my connection with my physical body, and eventually began to experience improvement in my posture, skeletal alignment, strength, flexibility and agility as well as my focus, clarity and mood. In short, I was soon functioning much better on every level, and thanks to the many effective optional programs available, I have since learnt even more techniques for maintaining my health, and experienced tremendous personal growth as well. Dahn Yoga is a hugely beneficial practice, which starts to reveal itself as such from the very first class.

I am a beginner at Yoga. For the past few years I have considered Yoga as a way of getting some much needed exercise. I am happy to say that at Dahn Yoga I am getting what I need....to move around. The exercises are gentle but I can feel the impact. I have suffered with lower back pain for several years and now I can actually stand up and walk without pain. I started 3 years ago at Bronx Dahn Yoga Center, because a medical issue on my neck and shoulder, medication didn't work, I learned how to release my pain through stretching in the Dahn Yoga Classes. I have been practice Dahn Yoga several years now.
It is really really amazing training. Through this training I was able to feel less tired, more energy, lost 15 lbs and I get very energized!!! This yoga class brought me not only health of my physical body but also peace of mind. I've tried private trainers, the gym, power walking, Zumba and none of these helped me gain the level of energy, flexibility, balance, peace of mind and fun that I'd been seeking.

In just six months I have more energy and focus than I've ever had! I especially love the workshops offered by Dahn Yoga and the fact that I can attend classes at other Centers while I'm traveling. I get to know myself better while, at the same time, meeting so many great and diverse people.

I have finally found a community of people who support each other towards health, happiness and peace.
