Body & Brain Yoga Tai Chi is a yoga studio in North Merrick offering holistic wellness classes consisting of yoga, tai chi, meditation, and breathwork based on 5000-year old Korean traditions. We offer a variety of yoga classes for beginners and more advanced classes to energize and heal the mind, body, and spirit.

I went to my Body and Brain class today and felt like the entire class was created for me! The combination of tapping, stretching and intestinal exercises allowed me a deeper awareness of my bodyโ€™s condition and changes. I could feel ancient stress releasing and felt โ€œI can relax nowโ€ in one of our final meditations. Tears flowed as I embraced โ€œbeingโ€ with nothing to do, held and supported by the earth. Iโ€™m going to make this short. I used to hop in and out activities because of my behavior. When I found out this I tried it for the first time it was very relaxing. It helped me with my stress the way Iโ€™m breathing etc. moments on I recently Said to myself I really enjoy this and I want to see what more comes Iโ€™ve been there for four times a week every Friday and I loved it. This has been very relaxing for me. Help me through all my stress. After I retired in January, I happened to walk by Body & Brain's new office in North Merrick. After speaking with Master Amy, I signed up for an introduction session. This was so comforting and relaxing much better than traditional yoga and gym workouts. The staff are extremely welcoming and classes are never the same routines over and over again. I found a group of friendly faces in the classes and look forward to going there each and every time. I have learned ways of reducing stress and typical aches and pains. Every class ends with meditation and tea ceremony followed by time to share our experience.
I am so glad that I have finally found a place where I can relax while improving my strength and balance.
I expect to be attending this program for years to come.

Hand down the BEST studio for all things: self healing, self development, mindfulness, meditation, Tai Chi, Yoga... The list goes on and on. I am so grateful to have found Master Amy and her team. It is so wonderful that East Meadow Body and Brain offered online classes after Covid-19 locked everything down. Now I can attend class 7 days a week, and even more than once a day if I wanted to! I love the variety of classes from deep stretching to Tai Chi to aerobics, to name a few. Good yoga in the beginning, but becomes repetitive after a while. However, I find them a little too expensive. Also they have a tendency to force you into buying things/membership! If you tell them you will think about it, they seem to question your decision rather then give you the time to think about it. They also have a tendency to politely force you to stay after the session to share your feelings... I have read reviews about calling them a cult! I get similar vibes.

The online classes offered since the beginning of the pandemic are amazing! A variety of classes is offered every day of the week so rather than trying to get to a studio 2-3 times each week, I usually take a class 5 times a week from the comfort of my den. When I began Dahn yoga, I felt that I had found a new second home. I was relaxed and at peace. I was asked to go on my first retreat which was exorbitantly expensive, but I went and was enthusiastic and felt that I had deepened my practice. I scheduled private healing sessions with Dawn and at first, I felt this enabled me to reach a level of calmness and tranquility that had I had not recently experienced. When I went through a period of depression, It seemed as though Dawn was there for me. My husband and my mother came with me to meet with Dawn. Dawn told my mother that I needed to go on another retreat and that she needed to pay for it, because what I was going through was her fault. My mother, who would do anything to make me feel at peace, did not hesitate and paid for my 2nd trip to Arizona. My experience was very stressful this time. I was asked to a meeting with the master. She conferenced with me and determined I needed to open up a practice. She gave me a form to sign, which asked me to give my bank account information as well as an agreement to invest in Dahn Yoga. You know what? I actually came close to completing the form. Thank goodness, I hesitated and said that I would have to consult with my husband. She tried to convince me that I needed to complete the form in order to become whole. When I returned to the East Meadow practice, I came to class in clothing that I purchased at the retreat. Dawn asked me to stay after class. She asked me why I was wearing instructor clothing. I told her it was just what I purchased at the Dahn retreat. She told me I did not commit, therefore I had no right to wear that clothing. I told Dawn that I was unable to make that decision without consulting my husband. She told me he was an outsider and that he doesnโ€™t understand and I should make that decision myself. Although I bought a lifetime membership, I never returned. I have since attended classes at other yoga studios. What I did at Dahn was not yoga. If you want to experience true yoga do your research. There are many awesome studios on Long Island. The name of Dahn Yoga might have changed, but it is still a money-making cult.

Highly recommend this facility. Been coming here about 5 years now. The instructors are caring & genuine. The center is clean and welcoming. Arrive 15 minutes before class for warm-up. Class begins with stretching, no matter what your physical condition these simple techniques work. You will improve physically and mentally. The classes are non-competitive and are comprised of all different age groups. Each class is approximately 75 minutes and every class had its own uniqueness , so you will never find it repetitive or boring. There is tea served afterward.

I walked into the East Meadow Dahn Yoga Center looking for an exercise program and got so much more. The knowledgeable and caring instructors promote health and wellness through stretching, movement and meditation. I have experienced improved focus, concentration, flexibility and balance. I feel great after class, getting in touch with my body and reducing my stress. There is so much to learn about the mind-body connection and they are so willing to teach you. Dahn Yoga in East Meadow is a great place. When I first walked in to try yoga I knew it was definitely something for me. It relaxes your mind and body. The instructors are amazing. They are caring and will help you if you are having a difficult time doing something. When I started I had lower back problems. They taught me how to adapt the yoga to my body. After yoga class you get tea. It's the BEST!

I have been practicing yoga for nearly 20 years. Various styles at different gyms, ashrams and yoga centers.None of them match the insight, or education that i have experienced since beginning at the Dahn Yoga Center in East Meadow. The classes are extraordinarily fun,but challenging. The instructors are very informative, warm and caring. The center /training room is bright and clean.I feel up lifted just entering the front door of the East Meadow Center.
