I had my first Gyrotonic session with Billy and it was an amazing experience! He was incredibly detailed, attentive, and made me feel really taken care of throughout the session. I could genuinely feel the difference after the session! My spine felt more aligned and my whole body more open and relaxed afterward.

As someone who regularly does boxing and dance, this was exactly what I needed to release tension and improve flexibility. I’m definitely planning to come back for more sessions. Highly recommend for anyone looking to improve mobility, posture, and overall body wellness!

Original Pilates and how it should be- no one yelling at you with loud music! Amazing. Anthony is a legend

Beautiful studio! It is super clean, we had classical music playing during the class. I went to this class in my late luteal phase and it was perfect! I could feel how my nervous system was relaxed, but also how gently and powerfully the muscles worked.
We had Anthony as a teacher and I really enjoyed his style: he was very helpful, friendly, knowledgeable, he explained everything clearly.

I took Cassie’s tower class today, it was absolutely amazing!!! Her moves are so interesting and coaching style is very motivating. And the modifications that she gave really really really helped. It was a challenging but extremely enjoyable and rewarding class. Highly, highly, highly recommend her classes! She is a good instructor for all levels, there were beginners and advanced, it seemed like everybody was challenged. Anthony and Winnie are on the same level! They have a lot of great teachers those are just my favorites!

I love the other Body Evolutions locations so I was excited to try the Chelsea location. However this was the worst experience I’ve had in a class. During our class there was a group training session going on right next to use (not even 5 feet away). On top of that, on the other side of the group class there was a group of three people just waiting and talking sitting in the cubby/lounge (?) area. I’m not sure why. There was a man who was on the phone for a good first chunk and the receptionist did nothing to either ask them to leave or politely ask to stop talking on the phone. With disruptions on both sides of the class, it was impossible to hear the instructor speak so I was constantly confused on what the exercise was and the flow of the class was very off. Pilates is usually what allows me to be more attentive of the mind body connection but my mind was so stressed trying to hear and follow with so many voices going around. The instructor tried her best and was sweet but the environment and staff need to be way more mindful of the clients here. Definitely avoid this studio unless something changes - it was a waste of money.

Gyrotonics review only - I’ve come to this location and the Union Square location a handful of times and recently took the coldest class of my group fitness tenure (a decade). I would highly recommend bringing layers - and gloves with traction - in case you’re at the machine under the AC unit (kept at 65 degrees and undulates into your face/neck) and of normal to lower BMI (I’m on the high end of normal at ~25). I was wearing a sweater over a tee with shorts and asked if they could increase the temperature, but I believe studios have restrictions on how warm the studio can be. Since gyro doesn’t warm you the way pilates does, you could risk injuring yourself without having enough heat/circulation in your body. Good luck and try to get a machine early!

I hate to leave a bad review but I was pretty shocked by my experience here. While the instructors are good (Ana is great) the studio itself isn't. There was a private lesson going on DURING the group class on the reformer directly next to me the entire time. It was extremely distracting and I found it shocking for such an expensive class. Also, there is no lobby at this studio (it's all just one room) so you hear every phone call, entry buzzer, and conversation throughout the class.

Moved away from east village so was glad to see this place open up near us! I really enjoy the traditional reformer / tower class taught here. Mary Ann is wonderful, she is so knowledgeable, it’s a real treat to train with her. My body always feels great after going.
