By SB studio is the best private Pilates space in NYC! The instructors are all amazing and the studio is in such a nice, welcoming space. As a physical therapist, I’m picky about my recommendations with any workout instructor or Pilates class. Sarah and her team are people that I trust with my patients and are great at personalizing each session to the individual. The 1:1 sessions are perfect for addressing any imbalances, recovering from an injury, or helping you reach a specific fitness goal. The workouts are creative and never boring! I feel so lucky to have found Sarah and her team and highly them to everyone!!

I have been going to by SB Pilates for over a year and I truly love it, I even go out of my way to get to this studio because it is absolutely worth it. The owner, Sarah, is wonderful to work with, she is incredibly kind and always supportive.
I was referred by close friends who worked with Sarah long before she opened her own studio and raved about her. The verdict is in, they were absolutely right, she is the best.
I usually see Jacquie and she consistently pushes me with challenging, fun workouts. I have also worked with a couple of the other instructors and everyone has been fantastic. Sarah clearly finds great people who care about the clients and know what they are doing.
Pilates is not cheap anywhere, but I feel like I get real value here. The studio is modern, clean, and well cared for, and the individualized attention makes such a difference. I highly recommend SB Pilates to anyone looking for focused instruction, a great workout, and a welcoming atmosphere!

I had the best one on one Pilates session at By SB Studio — the space is welcoming and absolutely beautiful; it makes me happy just to be there! We started by discussing my goal for the visit, which was to strengthen my weak hips, and the session was tailored specifically to address that. Not only did I get a great workout, but I also left with valuable knowledge on how to continue caring for my body beyond the one-on-one session. I’ve been consistently training with Sarah for over two years now and she is the absolute best! She is great at providing a challenging workout, while also creating a fun and welcoming environment. I’ve taken many classes before and usually after the 3rd time, the instructor’s attentiveness seems to wane. Not Sarah. I’ve been taking weekly private duet lessons from Sarah for a year and she has remained as focused and attentive on our personal fitness requirements for over a year. She makes every class interesting so it never gets boring, has inspiring music, and adjusts to the different levels that my daughter and I are at as needed. We’ve both seen significant improvements to our core strength and overall tone since starting Pilates with Sarah. She’s the best, most positive and supportive instructor ever!

After almost 2 years of practicing pilates with by SB studio, I can say that it is consistently one of the highlights of my week! The studio is conveniently located, clean, friendly, and incredibly well lit :) I've worked with both Sarah and Jacquie. They are both incredibly knowledgable and have helped me with everything from building strength, to working through existing injuries. I cannot recommend implementing pilates with by SB studio into your fitness routine enough!

After seeing Sarah I will never see another private Pilates instructor. She has completely shifted what I expect when I go to a workout class. I've been seeing Sarah for several years now. I had a bout of health issues and surgeries before I started seeing her and my body was not in great shape and very deconditioned. As someone with EDS, I often recruit my muscles incorrectly to preform tasks. Sarah is very observant of this and makes many modifications so that I am forced to do each movement properly, and does not allow me to hyperextend and go out of my joint socket. My posture and body mechanics are so much better than when I first started and what's even better is that I don't have to think about it, it has just become natural and my new normal. I'm so much stronger now and I swear Sarah has me use and strengthen muscle groups I didn't even know existed! She is always able to modify any session based on how I feel that day and overall is just a warm and lovely person. While I have mostly worked with Sarah, I have also had the pleasure of having a couple of sessions with Nikki and Jacquie who are both excellent as well. All three instructors at SB studio have a slightly different style and focus making for a very well rounded group. I highly recommend coming here for any of these wonderful Pilates instructors!

Sarah’s an extremely instructive teacher. She takes the time to walk you through exercises while also explaining how the mechanics impact the body. She is also patient. As someone who needs a lot of hand holding, Sarah took extra time to help me feel comfortable and oriented. Another highlight about the experience with Sarah was the beautiful space she is in; it is intimate which elevated the pilates experience even more. 25/10 would recommend Sarah and her amazing services.

I have been doing weekly Pilates sessions with Sarah in her Studio and virtually for over a year and feel and look so much stronger as a result. She's great at modifying workouts to my ability and requests. The studio space and the equipment is all new and much nicer and cleaner than other places I've tried. All of the other practitioners in the space seem very nice, too, though I haven't worked with any of them yet. Highly recommend.

Sarah will challenge you, exhaust you and you will see results-your body shape will change and you will get strong! Pilates has never been so exciting (& sweaty) as every class is different. The best decision I make every week is to go to my one-on-one class with her (if I could see her 2-3x/week, I would!). She also adapts—after a shoulder injury, we went slow for weeks to ensure I heal but while still strengthening the area. She is always engaged to make tweaks to your form which is everything in Pilates. I’ve been taking weekly classes with her for at least 2 years & she is worth every penny.

As a physical therapist and Pilates instructor myself, I'm super picky when it comes to instructors. Sarah is by far one of the best instructors I've ever had. Her cueing is always so descriptive and she's so good at modifying an exercise if something is bothering me that day. Not only do I go to her for regular sessions, but she also did a "bridal bootcamp" for me when I wanted to feel extra strong for my wedding. For many years I’ve been wanting to run a race to truly challenge myself but I am not a runner and had no experience. Sarah prepared me physically and mentally. She truly understands the limitations we put on ourselves and helped me get past them. The day of the race she ran with me, encouraging me and pushing me when I needed the push. I thought I was in good shape, and then I did Pilates with Sarah! I’ve taken other reformer classes and liked them, but also left feeling beat up and saying “I never want to go back.” Sarah completely changed my outlook on the reformer and Pilates in general. It’s tough don’t get me wrong, but she custom tailors her sessions to your wants and needs. I’ve never met a teacher with better attention to detail when it comes to adjustments. An hour of working out has never gone by faster and I find myself wanting to work out longer! Not to mention, I’d pay to go just to get stretched by her! Every time I finish a session, I walk out feeling confident and strong! You might be sore for a few days after your first go, but believe me, it’s SO worth it!!
