The studio has a variety of classes, you can get a full- body, holistic workout by attending a few classes every week. BYKlyns spin deck is airy and comfortable. Owner Amy and team of coaches are friendly and there's a noticeable community vibe in the gym. I completed the Strong in 6 program and continued my recommended sequence for another 6mos and built a lot of strength and a routine. Join us!

BYKlyn spin classes are fantastic! Every instructor I’ve had is incredible. The gym is very high quality and the instructors each have their own style and music selections. You can’t go wrong. It’s a great workout and also a lot of fun.

Really enjoy coming to this studio. The space is very clean and the instructors are really great. I especially have enjoyed instructor Jo S who has really fun (and sometimes quirky) playlists for the rides. I'm pretty new to the classes, but they instructors have been really clear at the beginning of the class about what the format is, so as a beginner, it's nice to know what to expect for the class. Some classes are just on the bike, but they also have bike + strength one that was hard (in the good way). For the bike classes they provide sanitized headphones for every person where you get both the instructor and music through them. I thought they would topple off while riding, but they're surprising comfortable. I like that I can adjust the volume so that it's to my preference. Overall, it's a great spot with a friendly community vibe!

Brennan's LIFT HEAVY class is so needed for our community of both men & women. Whatever your age or health level, you will benefit! I have been attending his various classes for a few weeks and feel stronger, taller and leaner. The class is a great workout. Its full of fun and grunts with plenty of sweat! Brennan explains the whys & hows along the way, so I'm learning too.

I go to Byklyn every weekend with my girlfriend, and we always leave feeling energized, motivated, and ready to take on the day. Erik, Christian, and Faye are awesome instructors who keep the class moving with great music and encouragement.

The space itself is super nice with lots of natural light and a good vibe overall. I’ve lost almost 10 pounds in under two months, and Byklyn has definitely helped me stay consistent. Weekends used to be when I’d eat and drink like crap, but now I actually look forward to getting a good sweat in instead. Highly recommend!

Have done cycling classes with Jo, Eric, Jess, and Chi and every instructor has been awesome. The facility/cycling set up is really cool and spacious. I tried their 2 week unlimited trial after seeing an ad on Instagram and what drew me in was their open air rooftop spin classes. I had started going to spin classes regularly a few months before that and really enjoyed them but they're usually in a dark room with neon lights which is fun in a different way but I always need ear plugs because the music is too loud although it does energize and motivate me.
I like that at BYKLYN the music is connected to everyone's headphones and you can adjust the volume to your comfort level. Even their Dyson hair dryers aren't too loud and they also have a variety of styling attachments and hair care products to use after class.
I also like that BYKLYN has pilates and strength classes in addition to their spin classes, and also open gym hours because I've been looking to switch up my workouts.
Best of all is that I love seeing people of various sizes, ethnicities, and orientations working out together in a positive and friendly environment!
I wish they had more locations, because right now they only have one location in Brooklyn and as I live in Queens it's not always convenient to attend classes here.

I love BYKlyn! Before my first class I would have said I didn’t like spin OR strength classes, but BYKlyn changed that for me! The classes, space, and instructors are welcoming, inclusive, and not at all intimidating. I love the diversity in the classes — it’s clear that people of all ages, sizes, and fitness levels are welcomed and encouraged. I now look forward to spin and strength classes, I’ve made friends from going regularly, and I feel stronger in just a few months! Highly recommend for great workouts and great community.

I’ve been loving my experience at Byklyn! The studio has a welcoming atmosphere, and i’ve felt welcomed from the start. The membership prices are reasonable, I started off with a two week unlimited package but knew early on that I would likely stick around. The classes strike the perfect balance between challenging and accessible, making them suitable for all levels. Every spin class leaves me feeling exhilarated and part of a supportive community. Highly recommend!

I knew from my first trial class that BYKlyn was the right fit for me. I have just moved to the area (and the country!) and wanted to find a gym that was welcoming, not intimidating. I was put at ease straight away.

The instructors are so friendly, making an effort to learn everyone's names in class, and the music is always fun and motivating.

I can honestly say this is the first time I've ever looked forward to working out instead of dragging myself to the gym.

Overall Byklyn is a beautifully designed, welcoming studio with a wide diversity of attendees. Highly recommended!

Comparison to SoulCycle Brooklyn:

Facilities: Byklyn is beautiful. Brownstone walls with ivy all over them, a huge 20x20 open window bringing tons of fresh air, and plenty of space between the bikes.... SoulCycle is a dark candlelit room with no fresh air and bikes right up against each other.

Class: both are challenging. SoulCycle is a bit more fast paced, uses weights in every class, and a lot more choreography, while Byklyn has less choreography and no weights in most classes.

Music: Byklyn is more attuned to a wider diversity of ages. I'm in my 40s and recognized most songs from 70s 80s 90s and 2000s. I rarely know most of the songs at SoulCycle.

Attendees: SoulCycle attracts a younger crowd, many of whom are athletes or personal trainers. It's a dark room to be welcoming but I found it intimidating at first. Byklyn has a much wider diversity of ages and body types.

Teachers: SoulCycle trainers tend to be extremely impressive athletes who are on the bike with you and attempt to inspire. Byklyn trainers are good but more relatable.

Bikes: SoulCycle bikes are traditional and high quality with easy spin and weights on the back. Byklyn bikes have a 3 gear system which is useful for switching, as well as electric monitors to show you your average performance.

Vibe: SoulCycle is more of a performance style class for people aiming to be at the top of their game, the most fit you've ever been. They emphasize community and connection between riders, which is nice, but it doesn't have much of a family vibe. Byklyn is more like a family vibe. The owner Amy knows most attendees and the vibe is more at home.

Showers: SoulCycle has many well maintained and very high quality showers. Byklyn has one.

Overall Byklyn is a beautifully designed, welcoming studio with a wide diversity of attendees. Highly recommended!

yo i had such a fun time here today. i hate working out but my classpass trial was running out lol so i booked this as my last class. out of the 8 things i tried this month this was my favorite that i will be rebooking on my own. i did the 9am tuesday class with christian and he had great energy but not too much lol it was so unlike the other cycling class i took that felt very influencer buzz word over the top hyped up. he challenged us while also reminding us that we can go at our own pace whenever we want. the class was small and i only had to wait a few mins for the shower to open up. the studio is very breezy with fans blowing so i never felt too overheated, and toward the end of class they give out cold eucalyptus scented towels! ive never experienced that before and it made me feel bougie lol i can't wait to be back and i love how many black ppl work there!

I am currently doing the two-week intro deal and I've taken six classes so far. It's a great place for tough but accessible classes. The cycling studio is unique with windows that open up to the outside. BYKlyn provides shoes for the bikes and headphones to control the volume of the music. I sometimes take the cold eucalyptus towels at the end of class. I thought Crystal's 60-minute class was challenging, but I realized that Crystal set us up to kick our own butts. I've also enjoyed the strength classes with AR and Declan which are circuit-based. Most of the exercises can be done with bodyweight only but there are plenty of dumbbells and kettlebells available. I managed to talk with both after class and it's nice to feel seen and supported in a class of 10-15 people.

The classes and instructors are great but ultimately I decided to quit going here because their automatic system kept taking money from me, even after my account was closed. There were two significant errors:

1. I had an unlimited membership (almost $300 with tax) and I was getting charged like crazy for late cancel fees. I was told if I spoke to someone, I could get the fees removed and so I did in person, reached out at least three times via email … and it still wasn’t refunded. Eventually I cced everyone at the company that I knew of on a firm email explaining the situation and it was refunded. However, only after I recieved a lecturing email on how I asked for help in the wrong ways.

2. Today I found out that they took another $300 out of my account 5 days after my account was supposed to be paused, and one day after I told them to cancel my account indefinitely. I was absolutely shocked by this outrageous error and I emailed them, practically begging for my money back so that I can honor my monthly budget, especially in the midst of the holidays. I called the front desk to try to get answers sooner and while the person on the other end was bubbly and apologetic, they were totally cavalier about the fact that the company had literally stolen $300 out of my account. How often does this happen?! Finally, one of the leadership refunded the money - which will take a couple business days of course - but sent a cold vibe email without an apology and/or some sort of coupon for the future.

… if you have the patience and the financial buffer to WATCH your account and hunt down refunds, then this place is a viable option for you.

BYKlyn has been my go-to exercise choice for many years. I first start attending classes when I had both a shoulder injury and a hip injury and spin was the only form of exercise I could do. Soon it became a lifeline. BYKlyn has never let me down. When the pandemic hit, BYKlyn shifted gears and moved outdoors. All though the pandemic we cycled outdoors in blistering heat, torrential downpours, and freezing weather (and a few absolutely perfect weather days in between). We then moved to a wonderful airy popup. Now BYKlyn has moved to its forever home and I'm very excited to continue be a part of this community-oriented cycling and strength phenomenon. BYKlyn is as close to perfection as one can get. The classes are challenging, supportive, and inclusive. The instructors are patient, knowledgeable, and friendly. The members and attendees run the gamut; we are old, young, and come in a range of fitness abilities and backgrounds. It seems to me that everyone is welcome. I recommend BYKlyn Studios.

I have been a BYKLYN member for years and recommend them to anyone who wants a good workout in a beautiful location, with exceptionally good instructors. And now she has worked magic again and opened a gorgeous new studio on Bergen.

Had the best ride yesterday with Tiffani! It was my first time riding any kind of a stationary bike, first “spin class” and it was AWESOME :)) the staff were so kind and caring. When I had an issue with my shoe fitting into the cage, the staff were so quick to run up with a pair of their special bike shoes for me to ride with. I look forward to coming back next week. I’ll definitely be purchasing the 5 ride pack!!

I took an amazing class at BYKlyn Cycle with Chi last week- she is an incredible teacher! Everything about my experience here was awesome. The ambiance was magical and everyone including the owner, instructor and everyone in class was so friendly and welcoming. I will definitely be going back next week! I wish they had an unlimited membership because I would 100% sign up for it :)

I love EVERYTHING about BYKlyn - the lovely staff, the welcoming, non-corporate vibe - other than the classes themselves. :(

Trust me, I wish this weren't so! But if you've been spoiled with active, exciting choreography in other big spinning studios (who shall not be named) you might struggle here. Riding at the same pace for a five-minute stretch is something I can do on my own bike in the park.

Please, BYKlyn, amp up the volume with some more jumps, climbs, push ups and weights! I would so love to make this my forever spinning home. Rooting for you.

I love this place! I had been debating for a while about joining but I finally took the leap and tried the $25 package. I loved it from my first ride with Stephanie who is awesome at 6:30 on a Monday morning. Anyway I just renewed my monthly package and I am taking part in the #marchchallenge for myself not really the prizes although I wouldn't mind winning something. I enjoyed the birthday ride with Tiffany and I am looking forward to some more birthday (or special) rides here. I like the way I am feeling right now. Thanks BYKlyn Cycle

Couldn’t recommend this studio more. I’m new to spin and I never thought I’d enjoy working out so much! The classes are small enough that they feel intimate and friendly but big enough that I don’t feel self conscious when I’m sweating all over the place!

Chi’s classes are worth the price of admission (and then some!). I initially started with the three class trial but after one Monday afternoon with her, I knew I had to get a membership. Byklyn’s got a lifer in me, that’s for sure.

If you love spin classes but you're not into the preciousness (and price) of SoulCycle, give Byklyn a try. It's a more affordable and fun alternative. Byklyn is a simple, small, intimate studio with friendly staff, a variety of fantastic instructors who will kick your butt no matter your skill level (I'm a big fan of Shane!), and plent of class time options for every schedule. The bikes are always clean and well-maintained. Plus, this is by far the most community-oriented gym I've ever belonged to with charity rides each month that benefit local causes. Not to mention Penny the pooch is so cute and sweet.

I’ve been going to BYKlyn cycle for over a year and all of the instructors & staff have been fantastic, very welcoming, excited that you’re there and helpful.

The workouts are intense but fun with good music to help power me through the sprints, hills and intervals. I always leave feeling accomplished!

Overall it’s a great welcoming community atmosphere and will give you an intense workout - highly recommended!

Plus it’s a bonus that I get to support a locally owned business.

I've been going to BYKlyn for months now and this would be my second review... surely it has evolved from then. I've done weeknight classes which are suitable for my work schedule and now weekend classes because Chi was introduced to my life! She's honestly a breath of fresh air (which I am gasping for during those hills! lol) while inspiring and vibrant AND still working us out thoroughly at all fitness level. She not only urges you but she encourages you at all levels and shows that each step can be modified, she CARES FOR YOUR POOR BUM on that saddle (because the struggle is real!) She advocates listening to your body, drinking and not flying through your cycling just because but to feel it. This IS soul cycling at its best at BYKlyn. This new year will be filled with more cycling for me, thanks to Chi! Svetlana, Kat, and Tyeisha are also thrilling routines to keep the stress level down during my week. Homage to BYKlyn for my wellness 2020 self-care!

I have been taking spin in various studios for nearly 20 years. BYKlyn has a different vibe than a lot of places. It's down-to-earth, friendly and welcoming. You can tell the instructors are happy to work there and they push you hard without making the workout stressful. A lot of group fitness can feel that way, especially in New York City. Clean facility, very nice bikes, and good music that is never too loud. Take a class here. You won't regret it!

I have been taking indoor cycling classes for over 12 years now, and even taught Spinning for a number of years. I've done FlyWheel, Swerve, Peloton, SoulCycle, Monster Cycle, etc. in those years as well, and while those other places have their benefits in tapping into people's competitive nature or desire for a community (or cult?), there's something refreshingly pure about BYKlyn - at least in the handful of classes I have taken there over the past few months.

The instructors are all genuine, real people who design their classes to give you maximum sweat without gimmicks or nonsense choreography. I find myself working harder and with more resistance at BYKlyn than I ever did at SoulCycle. Also HUGELY appreciated is that they teach at SAFE speeds and encourage resistance, which isn't the case at a lot of other studios where you have to pedal over 120 bpm at low resistance (i.e. injuries waiting to happen).

They build a community feeling with riders in the simple common denominator that everyone there is looking for a fun workout that can also improve your fitness level.

I tend to prefer the classes without arms/weight, because I want as much time as possible to work on pushing my aerobic capacity, and thankfully the majority of BYKlyn's classes are no-arms/weights classes.

They are also far more affordable to buy class packages and memberships than pretty much anywhere else, so that's a huge plus!

The only thing I would wish for is showers, which they don't have so it's not realistic for me to take morning classes before work. But I guess they just don't have the space for that. But everything else that I love about this studio makes up for it.

The studio runs fun competitions and supports local charities, which is always nice to see. There is an amazing dog, Penny, who works part-time at the reception desk :)

Four stars because the studio's amenities are not as luxurious as other places in the city - for example, the studio doesn't have showers.

Great instructors, great work outs, great community! I'm not one of those people who constantly obsess over workouts or places to work out, but this has been the only thing keeping me in the fitness game consistently for over one year! Moved to the next neighborhood and still attending this location. It's exactly what I need. Spin, with enough variation for when I feel like working out outside of just legs (bike & bootcamp!) I just find the instructors to have great taste in music, and always keeping us in that motivated space. Get in, get your workout on, get out. Exactly what I needed.
