I joined this gym a few years ago after I retired and used the silver sneakers program. I try to get in a few times and week, the staff here is great and place is always very clean! Maintenance seams very good with nothing out of service for long. All that being said I am very disappointed to hear that after the 1st of the year they will no longer be accepting the silver sneakers program but financially I'll have to move on. It was great while it lasted!

the men's locker room should be reported to Erie county health dept. The showers are disgusting. slime in them, mold on the shower curtains, water on the floor, drains back up while you shower. ** Update** Well after some time, the owner decided to replace the moldy shower curtains with short shower curtains that allows the floor to get soaking wet with people's dirty water from the showers (as the last 2 photos show). How hard is it to get proper shower curtains that you toss in the laundry once a week with some bleach?

All the hidden fees and rules that the customer cannot get around. Sounds like another local gym that wants 8 hr notice if you will be sick and unable to attend your next workout. Eight hours!!! Who knows 8 hrs ahead if they will be sick?!

They won’t let you in the gym if your under 14 and not with an adult they are rude and equipment is dirty and they have so little variety do not go here unless if you want to get a friend in who is under 14 and have to pay 100 dollers

Catalyst needs to follow NYS laws. They are not transparent with billing...such as recent credit card fees. They just started combining it with your monthly membership with no explanation. It's required to be broken down or explained/written to members per NYS.
They have all these other hidden & montly fees that are constantly going up by 5+ dollars. Pay attention to your statements. Catalyst doesn't give notice.

I’ve been going to this gym for about 7 years. It’s conveniently close for me. It’s small but has all the equipment I need so I was happy. Now I’m sad to say I’ve watched it decline in cleanliness over the last year. Visibly dirty. The front desk staff used to vacuum but they said they are no longer allowed to as a crew cleans weekly. I can’t see how as the gravel, hair, dust bunnies and paper towel bits are accumulating everywhere. I get it, it’s a gym but my $50 maintenance fee (multiplied by how many members?) apparently doesn't go toward cleaning.
There have been posts before regarding cleanliness and equipment issues. Never a fix tho. Hell I’d even vacuum if they let me.

Used to be good. Now the place is filthy. None of the equipment is maintained properly, They just put a sign up for everything. Projector for example.....if it's broken,go buy a new one. No bottle filler anymore,just drink from the sink. Nuts and bolts missing from machines for months on end.

Been coming here four years, gone downhill. Staff is wonderful but Machines always broken 3 stair masters here and 2/3 have been broken for 4 months. They have New treadmills and can build new locations but cannot fix the stair masters or put any new ones in there. Clearly this location is LAST priority.

Express gym, so no classes or trainers (in and out gym). However, the attraction for me is the small size which I prefer over the larger gyms. Friendly staff. Has most of the equipment one would expect but could use a couple barbell incline benches, which they do not currently have at the Broadway location.

They need to get the roof fixed. Every time it rains, there are wet floor signs all over the place. Every 6 months they reconfigure the floor design for the worse. There aren't enough benches ever. They have two now. The staff seem more concerned with working out and chatting with their friends than doing anything productive. It's just okay. I might looking for a new gym if the process to cancel your membership wasn't such a hassle.

Place is ok I’ve been coming for years and it just seems neglected. A few new machines here and there doesn’t make up for the fact that half the cardio and stationary equipment is constantly out of order, the water bottle fountain is always on the Fritz as of recent, it gets really dirty, the rules posted around the gym aren’t followed and there isn’t any higher weight dumbells past 75lbs. Seems welcoming at first but the raise in charges for monthly membership over the years do not reflect any sort of increased service. Parking lot was a mess this winter.
Staff is cool though. Movies are good in the movie room. At least they fixed the roof leaks and added some squat racks.

What a great gym with great people! We are visiting family (members) in Buffalo for the week and have worked out in two different locations. This Catalyst Express has everything you need or want at the gym and is very clean and well kept. We had a great workout!

Was a huge fan of this gym while Amy was in charge . Until recently Jen showed up and the whole mood and atmosphere of the gym changed for the worst. The way I feel treated by Jen and viewed is truly disgraceful. She’s not a reasonable person and can be very rude. Something needs to be done about Jen and the gym would be much better off without her. She treats the guests and workers very poorly. I no longer will be coming to this gym due to the way Jen runs it now. I am truly disappointed with Jen and I hope something is done.

I’ve been a member for over two years. People of every age, size and shape go there so no one should feel uncomfortable. It’s a big space filled with the best of all workout worlds, meaning, plenty of machines and free weight based equipment. Very clean locker rooms and cubbies to store your stuff. This gym used to be fairly well kept, but it isn't anymore. Equipment is out of order for months on end with no repair date in sight. Two of the four shower stalls in the men's locker room haven't been usable since before 2019 (one of them just needs a new fixture but they don't want to do anything to fix it). Also, it seems like the locker room doesn't ever get cleaned.

It also seems like money is not going back into the upkeep but instead is being used for "fancy" new things. They've added a "hydro massage" as well as an electronic sign-in for guests. Both of which "solve" problems that didn't exist before.

Overall the floor staff and other patrons have been pleasant but that does not outweigh the lack of dedication from the company. It's time to hang up the towel with this gym.

Generally was a good place. Tried to cancel from moving. I called said I need to come in. Went in and said I need to email proof. I said I can show the post address change email. Decent gym for the price. This is a Catalyst Express which means they do not offer classes and they stick to the basics of a gym - cardio machines, weight lifting machines, free weights, and locker rooms for men and women. The two "extras" this gym provides are tanning booths and a cardio theatre. The staff at this gym are friendly and helpful. They do a great job of keeping the place clean. The people that work out here are pleasant and not annoying or rude.

The one problem is the lack of some necessary workout equipment. There is only 1 squat rack and no power racks. Luckily, the place is rarely busy enough where you can't get to use the squat rack when you want to.
