This gym has gone thru several changes since we started here fall of 2022. This season I am so excited to see the changes they are implementing, focusing on solid fundamentals, and sustainable growth. There future here looks bright as they build their tiny, mini, and youth teams for long term growth, while continuing to support their older established athletes. This ownership team is putting in the work and they truly care about these kids and their success.

So happy to be out of this trash gym. So sad to see this place now compared to when my oldest daughter started there almost five years ago. This place was the nicest, state of the art gym
In the area. It was clean and the owners took pride. By far one of the most expensive gyms in the area, however we didn’t mind at the time because of its reputation.
Now you walk in and it looks like a daycare. The front desk is surrounded by clutter and kid toys. The walls and bathrooms are gross. It’s become a social hangout where owners, coaches and team moms trash talk the other athletes they don’t like.
My wife even sent a email to all of the owners, about the concerns of bullying. Not one of the of them had the decency to respond. I feel like they are struggling financially and just throwing in the towel.

Hello:)
As father of a special needs child, a coach of 3 special needs programs, along with coaching competitve mainstream volleyball as well, I’d like to take this moment to say a few things on my mind, respectfully. And forgive me, I may jump around a bit lol.
First off I can tell you first hand, coaching in general is incredibly difficult in itself, coaching special needs children is even more of a challenge. But a beautiful, wonderful, rewarding challenge.
I’ve never been one to post a negative review, I believe everyone should form an opinion of a person, place, club etc on their own, and do what they wish from there. But as the saying goes, to each their own.
But as my 13yr old special needs daughter is an active athlete at cheer athletics Rochester, I find some of the comments on here, to bring me down a bit.
I think one may forget how much time and commitment go into working with kids of all ages, genders, special need or mainstream, every athlete is different in their own way. Balancing planning, coaching, the athletes feelings, emotions, abilities, inabilities etc and bringing out the absolute best in them.
Not to mention these leaders have their own families, some drive from buffalo, Syracuse etc to Rochester, just to be here and work with our children. I think the absolute last thing they need or our athletes need is a negative review slamming our gym, our product, and the individuals dedicating their time to our children/athletes.
I can personally tell you there was a time about 8yrs ago when no one wanted anything to do or take the time with my daughter, and that was heartbreaking. Lucky we did find the most amazing dance facility for her! And I know after the amazing season we had last season at cheer athletics Rochester, and every single time we watched our athletes practice harder and harder and put in the work, and they shined with their abilities and inabilities. The proof was in every next comp we got the privilege to enjoy, that this too was the right gym for her.
It’s very easy to get lost in the my kids deserves everything realm, but I say to you this…
Again my daughter is 13yrs old. She still dances with younger kids, every season, for the last 8yrs. Much like the review I read on here, she too was given the chance to see if she could compete and participate with her age group, at a higher level, and she couldn’t. But you know what, that’s ok, she’s ALWAYS incredibly happy. She thoroughly enjoy dance, as she now does cheer. We trust that our teachers, coaches, etc know what’s best for our athletes.
I recommend cheer athletics Rochester to everyone I know. The gym leaders and especially the coaches and jr coaches are a very tight knit family, and have the athletes best interest at heart all the time, every time. Kindly remember some of the things I said in this post the next time we bash a facility. These are real coaches, real people, with real feelings, who come from near and far to make our children’s dreams come true.
Thank you

We decided to try out the Cheerabilities group for our 8th grade daughter. She signed up with two girls we knew. Despite provided information about our daughter’s abilities in being in a regular dance class for the last 7yrs, and regular gymnastics class for several years, they segregated her from her same aged peers and placed her with a group of kids who were in grades K-3. The developmental inappropriateness of this and social inappropriateness was astounding. In voicing our concerns, we were allowed to move her to the other group with similar aged peers. Mind you that group had been working on a routine, had been sent access to a video of the routine to practice at home, and we were starting from ground zero. She was given 1 day in the new group, and we were emailed that they didn’t want her to continue there and wanted her back with the younger kids because she needed redirection”. Of course she needed redirection. It was her first day and she had no idea what to do. The coaches never had any intention of keeping her in the upper level. Had they, they would have given her access to the video to practice like everyone else. She would have been give. A chance to catch up. She got 2hrs. Never in a million years did I think we could feel segregated in the disability community…but here we are. We have since chosen to move to a different gym with coaches who believe in our daughter and who will encourage her instead of focusing on her god forbid needing redirection when learning something new.

Cheer Athletics is an excellent cheer complex. Spacious and very well equipped. The staff is exceptional and very thorough with the aspiring cheerleaders. An ample viewing window and cameras allow parents to view their children during lessons.

I feel like I have had a bad experience with the past owners.I feel that it was so much drama and it was a lot which led to mental health problems and I felt like I was not being valued.

There not many places that I’ve been apart of that I can say these things I’m about to say,
Cheer Athletics Rochester has opened my eyes in not just the world of cheerleading, but in life. I’ve never seen coaches work so hard to make the best out of every athlete there is in the gym. If you walk into the gym having the worst day of your life, 6 mental breakdowns and no motivation, you won’t be leaving there like that. This gym has changed me, my mind set, and my attitude. This gym is a family that cares and they definitely show it to all the athletes. Forcing my dad to let me try out, becoming a showcat, I’ve never felt so in love with a program ever. I used to dread practices in the past, walking through the CA doors immediate happiness. This place is my happy place and I wouldn’t trade it for the world. I’m proud to be apart of the first year of Cheer Athletics Rochester Showcats. This entire experience is g3fca2a for me. I love you guys.
Lol not me crying … I’m just emotional
