I’m so grateful to have found Enja!
My goal had initially just been to learn Pilates to strengthen my core and improve my posture - and she’s been an excellent teacher there!
But she’s also passionate about strength training and the mechanics of the body more generally, which has been amazingly helpful as I injure myself in various other extracurricular activities. She’s able to think deeply about how the anatomical pieces fit together, sometimes adapting our Pilates program on the fly, sometimes suggesting that we spend a moment on a non-Pilates exercise that’s right for me at that time.

Enja has a good understanding of anatomy and use pilates exercises to best suit the needs of each client. She takes careful notes keeping a record of one's progress. She challenges without aggression. I'm pleased with the changes in my posture, my strength and my confidence within 3 months. I highly recommend Enja as a trainer.

I've had an incredible experience with Enja. I've tried other Pilates structures for one-on-one classes, but I wasn't satisfied with them. Enja provided me with very detailed and customized guidance for correcting my posture and enhancing my strength. It's only been a few months, and I'm eagerly anticipating more sessions with her :)

I have had the absolute gift of working with Enja for private sessions for the last 14 months. Having been trained in classical Pilates, I was looking high and low for someone who understands each client’s very unique needs and is truly a classical instructor. As a person who has had fibromyalgia since my teens, it takes a very special person to train me as there always has to be a balance between challenge without overexertion.
Enja is an intuitive and a master at her craft. From my very first session, my body has always felt great walking out of every session. Enja always knows exactly what my body needs and shows 100 percent dedication to all of her clients. She is a consummate professional and has helped me improve my overall health in so many ways. My physical limitations, the result of two back surgeries, present a challenge for any Pilates teacher, any teacher that is, but Enja Schenck. Unlike many instructors in the realm of physical fitness, her teaching is grounded in hard science. Because she understands the anatomy of the human body, better than most physicians I wager, she sees and understands the specific construction of my body and how to adapt exercises to circumvent my limitations without any increase in the chronic pain I have lived with for over ten years. After only a few sessions, I have increased strength and flexibility. As I improve, she makes the work more challenging, while always keeping it safe. Not only is Enja an expert in Pilates instruction, she is equally adept at strength training, which has become part of our work. Beyond her exceptional teaching skill, I was immediately drawn to Enja as a person. She is kind, caring, and interested in my overall well-being. She amazes me with her ability to be totally present during our work together. Her focus never waivers. Her teaching gifts and her extraordinary humanity make Enja a rare talent. Anyone who has the opportunity to work with her is truly fortunate. There is no one better.

Enja is an amazing instructor and I am so happy to have found her. With several physical limitations I tend to find exercise overwhelming and sometimes unapproachable. Working with Enja has gotten me stronger and so much more confident. She truly understands physiology and can quickly pivot when something doesn’t feel right. She is a kind and pleasant person but still pushes me, in a very safe way. Enja is fantastic! I had always been interested in Pilates and tried a couple of places and instructors but never felt that it clicked. A friend who has worked with Enja and can't say enough good things about her referred me to her. Although I was at first hesitant, I knew after the first session that I had lucked out. She made me very comfortable right away. She really sees how you are doing the exercises and how you are moving your body. She has a deep understanding of Pilates so she is able to listen to and address any concerns or questions you may have. I'm happy each time I meet with her and am grateful for the new fitness she has added to my life!

You will not find a better classical Pilates instructor than Enja Schenck. I have been working with Enja for nearly two decades, and I hope we’ll work together for many decades more! She is unparalleled in her breadth of expertise (in physiology, strength, pilates…) and in her unique combo of patience, kindness, and firmness. She knows exactly how to push me in the best ways, she is so genuinely caring in every way, and I always look forward to seeing her. She supports my goals and I always feel like we are progressing and working with a bigger picture in mind, not just “working out” (although we do that also!). Also — I’ve come across a lot of Pilates instructors who cannot actually do ALL the movements they teach, especially the crazy / advanced / archival exercises. To my great good fortune, Enja Schenck has been my private Pilates instructor for several years.
I’ve practiced Pilates as a private client for almost 25 years. From the start I drew the highest cards in the deck by having been taught intensively and continuously during that period by both Romana Krysanowska and Bob Liekens, two giants of Pilates over the last 40 years.
Before moving to Europe, where he tragically died a short time thereafter, Bob strongly counseled me to continue Pilates training by working with Enja. Bob knew what he was taking about.
Enja has an encyclopedic command of all the Pilates exercises, historical and current, and the imagination to craft interesting programs using these exercises on all the Pilates equipment. She also the ability to communicate clearly and precisely how each exercise is to be performed and what purpose it serves. Sessions with her somehow manage to be both highly entertaining and exhausting.

Oh my goodness, you can learn so much from Enja as a classical Pilates teacher - of course her knowledge and the great cues and advices, but also I am in love with her sincere attitude to learn and teach, being a professional to any client, yet so kind and caring as a human. Enja is THE BEST.
For Classical Pilates, you can do no better. Enja's knowledge of the Pilates system combined with an unparalleled understanding of anatomy and biomechanics makes for one heck of a teacher. There is a reason that Pilates instructors and fitness professionals train under her. Beyond that, Enja tailors each session to her client, with precise and individualized modifications/adjustments. Best of all, underneath all of that incredible knowledge is a truly wonderful person.
I started working with Enja just a few months prior to getting pregnant. I stayed with her throughout my pregnancy, 4 sessions per week. Not only did she keep me safe but she got me STRONG. Through Enja, I developed a deep appreciation and love of the Pilates system.The day I met Enja changed my life and I feel so grateful to be able to continue to work with her. (Please don't ever retire, Enja!) I could not recommend her more- anyone who gets to work with her should consider themselves very lucky!

I am in my seventh year of Classical Pilates but with Enja for the last two. Weekly Pilates eliminated my lower back pain after one and a half years and for that I was hooked. But I reached a point when I needed a new teacher to really up my challenge and advance. Finding Enja fulfills all those needs. She senses when and how to push me . I discovered I had developed arthritis in my lower back as a result of years of tennis playing. My doctor suggested Pilates to help manage the condition so that I could continue to play tennis. That's when I found Enja! She's a wonderful instructor....always positive and engaged. The hour flies by because she prepares a "lesson plan" in advance and keeps the session moving. Enja works as hard (if not harder) than I do during our session, and the good news is my back feels better and my body is stronger and leaner. Enja is absolutely the best. I have been doing weekly sessions with her for 5-6 months now. I had recently quit my gym membership because I dreaded going, and was looking for something different to improve my posture and counteract the effects of long hours at a desk-bound job. I had tried a Pilates session once in another city and had enjoyed it, so I turned to the Internet and found Enja. I can genuinely say I look forward to each session (which is saying a lot coming from a self-proclaimed exercise hater). She is attentive and wholly focused on me for the entirety of each session - correcting my positioning, noticing when something doesn't feel right for me, etc. It is a real treat to notice that I am getting better at various exercises from week to week, and to feel that a genuine difference is being made. My posture is better and I am less sore/uncomfortable after a day at the office, not to mention how amazing I feel for at least a whole day after a session. It's a bonus that I'm starting to notice I'm developing a little bit of a "Pilates body"!
I highly, highly recommend Enja. Sessions with her are absolutely worth the price, as the quality of the experience is not even in the same universe as something like a group Pilates class. I will be a loyal client for a long time to come!

Enja is fantastic. And patient. I had THR (Total Hip Replacement) a year ago which ended up causing a herniated disk. Even more annoying is that I cannot lay on my back without issues. So Enja figured out a whole pilates routine for me where I don't have to be on my back to do all the exercises. The instructors I had previously wanted me to push thru it but Enja got around it and the strength in my back is just about non-existent. She really watches out for me.

I have been working with Enja for several months now and see a major difference in my body. I went to see her to correct my posture which was causing shoulder and neck issues and within weeks I was walking taller and having less pain. I had never taken Pilates before so I wasn't sure how it would improve the rest of my body as well but I'm much leaner and more toned and feel great. Enja has been so wonderful that I recently started seeing her 3 days a week instead of 2. The personal attention Enja gives makes me feel like I'm her only client.
