The machines were old, cranky, and clearly overdue for maintenance. My instructor, Natalie, was incredibly rude the entire class. I go to Pilates after work to relax, not to be scolded like a child. When I accidentally bumped the machine, she snapped at me, and when I asked for help with the springs, she didn’t help and even made fun of me in front of everyone. The whole environment felt uncomfortable. I really wish I had read the reviews earlier. Do NOT go here — at least not to Natalie’s class.

Great experience the past few months doing Pilates at CoreBurn with Jenn, Paige and Natalie! They all have their own unique styles and will certainly work you in muscles you didn’t even know you had. Perfect active recovery compliment to training for the NYC Marathon and a welcoming environment as a male who is new to Pilates in a super modern and clean studio. 10/10 recommend

This studio is unsafe!
The instructors are not properly trained to protect the well- being of participants, which has let to avoidable accidents.
I suffered two shoulder surgeries even though the instructor was standing right next to me at the time.
Don’t take the risk, go elsewhere and find a reputable, safety conscious studio!

Credit card was charged without booking a class. When contacting the studio, they said that somebody else called and booked a class for the next day under my name. When I asked to delete all my information in their database, this was not done. It is also pretty strange that on the website, this class was marked as full and kept being marked as full after 'cancelling' the class. Avoid the place.

AVOID AT ALL COST - JENNIFER IS THE WORST!
I was only two minutes late, and the instructor, Jennifer Becker was awful, rude, and condescending from the moment I walked in. Instead of a simple acknowledgment, she practically yelled, “Have you ever taken Pilates before? You have two minutes to get into the studio. I’m letting you in, but you’re late while everyone else is on time.” The attitude was completely unnecessary and set the tone for the rest of the miserable class.
Then, she went into my jacket without my permission (!) to turn off my alarm—something no one else could even hear. Who does that?!
Later, my arm slipped into a reformer well, and instead of showing the slightest bit of concern, she just walked over and snapped, “Have you taken Pilates before? Do you know what this class is all about?” No empathy or professionalism, just hostility.
To make things even worse, she marked me as absent on ClassPass, blocking me from leaving a review and resulting in an extra fee for a class I honestly wish I had skipped.
Throughout the class, she kept complaining about almost going to the hospital yesterday—repeating it over and over, as if trying to guilt the class for her being there. I have no idea what she was trying to imply, but she should seek professional help before taking her issues out on paying customers.
This was not just a bad class—it was actively unpleasant and unprofessional. Do yourself a favor and avoid this instructor at all costs.

This is a top notch studio with expert instructors in a warm, neighborhood environment. It is very clean, well designed and professionally run. The instructors are excellent and well versed in Pilates. They take the time to create classes that are level appropriate, challenging and varied. The dedicated and hard working instructors care about correct form, technique and take care to check on each participant. Jen and Paige specifically are rare finds in NYC. This place is a gem!

I love this studio - every class I take has been challenging and I genuinely have noticed improvements in my strength! Classes are a nicely small size so I feel like the instructor can notice my form and assist when needed. This is definitely one of my favorite studios that I keep going back to.

I’ve been to a ton of pilates studios in nyc but I keep coming back to core burn 79th! The instructors are incredibly talented, knowledgeable, motivating, and super attentive, whether it’s your first time on a reformer or you’re a seasoned pilates practitioner.
The classes are dynamic, challenging, and fun. I love how they combine strength, flexibility, and mindfulness all in one session. I leave every class feeling refreshed, stronger, and more aligned.
What really sets this studio apart is the individual attention, the instructors really take the time to ensure your form is correct, which has been transformative for my posture and overall results from the classes. Plus, the small class sizes make it feel like you’re getting a one on one experience every time.
I highly recommend this studio to anyone looking to get into pilates or continue their practice. So grateful to have found this place!

I absolutely love taking pilates at this studio! It is a cute space and always so clean! All of the teachers are extremely knowledgeable and I love how inclusive they are by welcoming all levels of experience. I see a lot of negativity surrounding the late rules here, but I for one appreciate the enforcement of them! Late clients are disruptive and distracting for the instructor teaching and those already invested in the class so it makes sense why those rules are in place. I highly recommend this studio to anyone, whether you are a seasoned pilates client, or someone interested in trying it for the first time.

So I’m seeing a repeated pattern here of unsatisfied clients, assuming the owner wants to continue running a successful studio I think it should be in their consideration to accommodate to their students. It isn’t rare for a person to be a couple minutes late due to train delays, extended shifts..(etc). We are talking mere minutes here, 2-4 minutes late and not being able to access their class because of it. Maybe consider giving your students 5-6 minutes to sit, stretch and wait for other students to arrive. As other posts said, being 10 minutes late is one thing but being 2-3 minutes late is not something to be charged and punished for. The woman who spoke to me was impolite, it didn’t seem like she enjoyed being there. If I am to pay for a membership somewhere I would hope to be surrounded by instructors who enjoy what they do. If you value your time I don’t suggest you come to this establishment. Pilates People is a studio I recommend if people are looking for a good place to go.

Worst Pilates experience I’ve ever had. I’ve done 15+ classes at other studios and thought to give this one a try as it’s near my apartment. Walking in, Jennifer was rude and unwelcoming, asking if it was my friend and my first time and if we “knew what class this was” with a short, almost aggressive tone. We tried to be lighthearted and say we saw the name of the class online but couldn’t find any descriptions, and were here to try something new. She rolled her eyes and told us to go into the studio. We selected our machines in the middle of the room and she started the class by telling everyone to “shut up.” She continued to conduct the class with harsh, unkind, and honestly contradictory instructions and corrections. Never have I done a workout class with such poor cues for changing movements. At one point our side of the room was to the left of the machines, and she stopped the class to say “this whole side is wrong, get over to the other side” very rudely and despite never telling us where to go or what move was next. She continued to belittle my friend and I as I released a move when she said counted down to “done” then laughed and looked at us as she said “we ALWAYS do an isometric hold,” eliciting a laugh from some of her regular patrons. The very next move did not include an isometric hold. She also commented multiple times about how her regulars were on the corner machines (implying it’s because we took their usual spots) and that they were too far away from her. The room is so small, no one is very far from any given person, so this seemed unnecessary. All in all, if you’re looking for a class with rude, unhelpful instructors and feeling like you don’t belong, this is the spot for you. We won’t be returning - Solidcore on 67th is much more welcoming even for first timers.

I was a couple minutes late, but the lady did not let me into my class. Waste of my money and my time.
Class did not indicate lateness or anything of that sort.

After having flown to NYC to attend to my mother who was sick in the hospital, I decided to take my mind off of everything by attending a pilates class. The class was pitched to the right level and had a good flow. The problem was the instructor. She was hard, gruff and at times even rude. She admonished me for sending a quick message on my phone I told her my mother was in the hospital and I needed access to my phone. She then said angrily.. Do they class or get up and leave to use your phone. Everyone wss shocked. It was unpleasant. Especially to a new client. I won't be attending Rebecca's class again. Who needs to pay for that?

This studio is excellent! As a long time vet to Pilates I am happy I was recommended to the studio by another customer. ALL the instructors are fantastic. Highly trained and professional. What is amazing about the studio is that each instructor has their own take and approach to Pilates. The diversity in style of teaching is great from super advanced to classical. I always leave felling great!
