About the Club

Amazing top-notch instructors..." "The energy from a Core teacher is infectious..." "Sun-filled beautiful studio..."
Seeded in 2002, Core (as it's affectionately known) is recognized as the core of Pilates in NYC - the destination in the big apple to quench that fix for all things classical Pilates. We offer private sessions, creatively curated apparatus group classes, and teacher training certification in the heart of the Flatiron and globally online in our digital studio. With a personalized, supportive, and inclusive environment and a customer-service focused crew, time at the studio feels authentically boutique without the Reformer "time share" vibes of the bigger chains.

This studio is so lovely! It always smells delicious, is super clean, and all the instructors seem to really know what they’re doing.

Core Pilates NYC is my Pilates home in NYC. I’ve been taking classes there for about 3-4 years. I became Mat certified and Comprehensively certified to teach Pilates here because I was inspired by Instructors like Dan and Laura. Core does Classical Pilates better than any studio I know and they do it with a fun, hip vibe and community focus. Core feels like family.

This was my first ever experience with a reformer + tower combo and it was so much fun! Nadia was a great teacher and didn't make me feel any less than the other more experienced people. There were only 4 people in the class, including me so I was a bit anxious at the beginning. Nadia helped me relax and focus on what my body needed. Can't wait to come back!

I had a very disappointing experience at Core Pilates NYC. Unfortunately, the level of professionalism and customer service is severely lacking. The receptionist was passive-aggressive and unhelpful, even admitting that the policy on their website was inaccurate.

Nadia, in particular, was incredibly rude and unkind. It’s disheartening to see that there are numerous negative reviews about her, yet it seems the studio does nothing to address these concerns. I should have checked the reviews before my visit.

During my time there, I came within the grace period, but the receptionist was rude and seemed more interested in extracting more money from me than in helping. This kind of treatment is not only ridiculous but also disturbing. It’s clear that this studio prioritizes profits over the well-being of its students. I won’t be returning.

I travelled to New York for summer vacation and whenever I travel I like to keep up my pilates. It means I go to many different places and try many different instructors. At Core I had three different instructors as I needed to change my schedule frequently. They were incredibly helpful moving bookings around to suit changes. The studio is relatively simple but light and airy. All three of my instructors were top notch highly attentive and very good. I will make sure to do all my classes here upon my return. Thank you to Tarryn, Nadia, Rachel and Carly. I strongly recommend this studio.

I would give a 0 if it’s an option. Overall an extremely unpleasant and unprofessional experience with this studio. Firstly, there were 3 classes going on at the same time. Secondly, I waited at the door for 5 minutes for someone to come but all four instructors saw me and ignored me. When finally someone came after 7 minutes of waiting, this lady called Taryn told me that I couldn’t take the class anymore because I was late. She said there’s a 5 minutes grace period but when I told her I only arrived 3 minutes late and it took them a long time to come get their customers, she became extremely mean and pushing all the responsibilities. They have rules and policies not for themselves to follow but to use it against the customers…mind blowing

I'm a beginner at pilates and I took a class with Tarryn today! She was really FANTASTIC and I felt like her class was very challenging but totally doable. I think I was the only beginner in the class, and I thought her instructing style was clear and effective for all levels which I was impressed by. Not only that, the studio itself is very cute, clean, and overall had a nice vibe. I can't wait to come back!

I go here every week but sadly I will have to end my participation as Nadia the instructor has not let me in the class altough i was in their 10 min grace period. Not only she could’ve approached me nicely, she also turned her back to me without leaving me time to respond. I am never going back I also saw every negative review on classpass is in regards to Nadia. You should do something about it… her energy is definetly passive aggressive / negative

I just finished my class with Alma. I took my first ever Pilates this weekend at Core too. I am absolutely in love with it!

First off, the teachers are so talented and thoughtful about the way they interact with clients. Second, this place is chill and no pressure to look a certain way or dress in designer sets, etc.

Overall, I feel very welcome and physically the classes are challenging and fun! Would def recommend, especially if you’re like me—a midsized girl who likes to wear sweats and a messy bun to any workout, all good vibes here! ❤️

I never got to take the class! I paid almost $30 and used the link. Didn't work. I was waiting for 15 minutes to get into the class. I've emailed for a refund due to this scam and haven't heard back. Not a reliable or legitimate service

I have been coming to Core for over a year now, and from the start I have had great experiences with almost every teacher. I also appreciate how clean the space is, and the changing rooms, and the big windows. I go to a few other studios around town, but whenever I am at Core I know for sure that I am in good hands. I have a few physical issues that can get in my way, but the teachers there are attentive and helpful, without making me feel inadequate. They really listen. I am truly grateful I found Core Pilates NYC. It is definitely my home studio!

A beautiful light filled studio, spare but not lacking in props or equipment. The teachers are the real deal and I feel like my progress is important to them. In the years I’ve been going there I have totally learned how to use my body differently and I truly appreciate the support!

one of the best boutique studios in NYC! while mat pilates can be effective, i find pilates on equipment so much more fun and varied and love the group atmosphere. the space is light, clean and airy and it’s a perfect mind body escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. i leave feeling so much more centered and powerful!

Great space - bright, cheery and airy. A real boutique studio. Can't keep away from their Reformer Barre class. Dan gives me a good laugh and a great, unique workout.

I love Core Pilates. Been coming to the studio since 2014. Loved the classes and teacher so much I enrolled in teacher training and haven’t looked back! The 30/30 reformer tower classes are so fun and the chair classes are my jam. Anything that challenges balance and involves work strength is music to my pilates heart!

Core Pilates NYC is a fantastic Pilates studio with state of the art equipment, experienced & professional teachers, and has challenging classes for the Pilates student ranging from beginner to advanced. The teachers stem from a classical background but bring a contemporary spirit to class. I always feel a great mind/body connection during my classes here, and my body has seen positive changes because of it.

I'm a Pilates Teacher and I did it for 7 years in a Rehabilitation Center in Europe. When I moved here I wished to continue my workout and, reading reviews, I decided to go to Core Pilates. Such a disappointment!!!
Mat Classes are overbooked (even if the website says 15, there're always at least 17 people) and it's almost impossible to excersise properly. The employee are mean and they treat you as you owen them something. Booking online is difficult, the system is often stock and when it run again you are in the wrong class. Don't expect help or assitance.
Some teachers are good, but just a few and you have to book a private or semiprivate session to do something good. the other teachers'' ego is too big to make a good job.
